  • in this video I show you how to disable, delete, bridge the side stand switch. if your motorcycle doesn't start, you press the starter button and nothing happens or you have no spark then this is one of the first things to check.
    be aware that your bike may push itself of the side stand and fall over if you do this mod.
    These switches are close to the road so get hit with all the rubbish and road salts, they go wrong easily and this effects starting and disables the spark.

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm unsure what bike your referring to but you can cut the wires of a clutch switch and wire then together. I normally do this to rule out any starting issues, I also look at the side stand switch and emergency switch as well.

    • @steveraby6023

      @@motorcyclerescuer I have a 50cc pulse moped with no spark. The cdi box has an extra pink wire that I was told is the clutch sensor. I can't find another cdi box so I was hoping to bypass it. If it works then I will be very happy lol.

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmmmmmm I think that's wrong if I'm being honest. If you have no spark the issue will be either cdi itself, stator pick up, side stand switch not working, emergency cut off not working or key ignition not working even if it appears to be. Could also be a bad spark plug, coil or wiring to the coil.
      You normally eliminate these 1 by 1 until you have your fix.
      I would look at the side stand first, see if it has wires going to it. If it does then that switch could be faulty

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The stator and cdi may need to be next. Cdi is fairly cheap so tempting to go with that as it may resolve the issue. Stator isn't too expensive but you will need a removal tool on top. Probably a £50 home fix on that one. Cdi should be £15 ish.

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your fzr may or may not have one, but if your side stand has wires then definitely check this first. No spark can also be a CDI issue or kill switch issue. It's rare for both coil packs to go at the same time.

      @@unpoliticallyuncorrect6135 I don't laugh at people who want to learn mate, I've got plenty time for people willing to learn and give things a try.
      What area are you in roughly?
      So the kill switch is the red up and down switch on your right handle bar. Flick it up and down a bunch of times, sometimes if the bike has been sitting them the switch gets corroded and disables the spark. Flick away say 20 times then check for spark again.
      Definitely do the side stand switch as I've done in my video and check the spark again.
      Now the bike also has a stator which is probably the most difficult to do but the last to try really.
      The CDI is the computer, it's not the coils.
