Missed this angle from the old days
Thanks Luke. Your straight talk reviews are informative as always and is appreciated.
Ion is going to be great. It fits perfectly between the IQ tour and the Phaze II. As soon as it lanes shines a bit it comes alive.
Great insight as always sir
Think the Ion will be good overall for many people. For me, I wish they would have used R2X/R3S instead. Dont quite need TX-16 traction level with all the lane surfaces around continuing to age more.
As mentioned previously, horrible timing with the X-Cell that's going to outsell it by a lot
Have you rolled the blue coral shock? I’d be very interested to see that comparison
Haven't thrown one, but yeah it'd be interesting to see.
Wondering if the Ion Pro would be a good idea in 14 lbs. I have the Optimum Idol at 5x4x3, Low Flare at 4.5x4.5x4, and TDX at 5x4x3.5 (2LS).
This has always been the better camra angle.
Odd/late question but how would this ball, being a step up from the IQ, compare to the IQ Tour Nano Pearl? Seemed like that ball was, at the time, talked about as the IQ/Phaze 2 bridge and I still love that ball and can't find them much anymore so I'd like your thoughts.
It's not that close, it's a similar rolling ball but definitely cleaner and weaker than the IQTNP.
Thanks Luke! Thoughts on what out there right now would be a good replacement for the nano pearl? 14lbs, lefty.
I would like to see the difference between these balls in 14 vs 15 as the RG is different. Are we buying the same ball in the video @ 14lbs.
Yes and no, but this is a normal thing throughout the SPI lines. The 14 pound versions of 90% of the balls from Storm, Roto, and Global are 4ish points higher on RG vs the 15 pound versions. You're not getting a completely different ball, and even if the numbers are the same, the lighter ball will generally be cleaner and sharper to begin with, but a higher RG will make the ball a little cleaner and more responsive. Sometimes that may be a good thing, balls that are too early/chuggy/slow in 15 might look amazing in 14, but sometimes balls that look amazing in 15 are too long and flippy in 14. It's just kind of a regular part of the deal.
@LukeRosdahl Thank you for the response, looking at Hammer products as thier RG are similar in 14lbs.
So question, I have the obsession tour and an IQ, I don’t see a need for this ball but would an envy tour make sense to grab? My obsession is obviously old, I’d keep it in the bag and use the envy as the fresh oil ball?
Yep, I think the Envy is definitely stronger and smoother than this one, so it would make the most sense to pick up.
Bar open?
Would this be a good ball for long patterns?
I don't think so, it's designed to be a cleaner more controllable option, so it's going to be more medium length medium volume patterns as a ball down from stronger stuff.
Been looking at this ball just not sure it has a spot in a 6 ball bag
Reality, phaze 2 vebo , tour dynamic iq pearl n pitch black?
I'd have to see it against the VEBO, this one seems a little earlier and sharper, maybe a touch stronger, but I'm not sure I'd carry both?
What is Zach’s PAP?
It's 5 over and 1/8 down
Thanks for the response
