    For those who will ask. 2LS and VLS are almost exactly the same... EXCEPT reverse the effects of the Pin Buffer and Pin to Center of Grip distances. A short pin buffer is strong in VLS, but short COG is weak in 2ls... and long pin buffer is weak in VLS, and long COG strong in 2LS. All the other numbers remain the same in the 2 systems.

    I recall back when Mo Pinel said the PSA placement determines (during axis migration) when the ball "revs up." In short: closer to the thumb the LATER the ball revs up. PSA closer to the PAP the EARLIER the ball "revs up."
    "Rev up" in reference to entering the real roll-phase.
    This video is great.

As time went on and i wanted to better my game i asked for us to find my PAP and start using different layouts for different situations to where i got the answer “you dont need it and i wont do it for casual league bowlers”. my question is, would you recommend i learn pin buffering on my own and start drilling my own gear or should i come down and visit you guys for some aid?

    I have a weird throw, I track directly in between my fingers and sometimes clip my thumb, if I try to add tilt to my throw, I track on the wrong side of the ball (my PAP points at the lane), is there a way to drill it to get my ball to track properly? when I throw a backup ball my ball flares as expected. when I throw regularly my flare lines are squished together even though my PAP has been measured and my balls drilled accordingly.

    So my question is, even by understanding the way the layout of the ball controls the core actions throughout the shot, making it stand up fast or slower. Dose the surface being strong and dull or strong and shining, or weak and dull or weak and shining effect the overall effect of the layout?
    And by layout can you play more to the balls natural strength, weaker and flipping harder with shine and strong and more rounded with dull?

    • @tvbowlingsupply

      Surface definitely affects the overall reaction. You have to balance and figure out all of the combinations to achieve a reaction you are looking for

    Just curious, what caused the birth of the 2LS system? Because 2-handers are much more under the ball during the release? What would a 2-hander experience differently if a ball was drilled with a VLS layout system instead?

    • @tvbowlingsupply
      @tvbowlingsupply  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The removal of the weight hole caused 2LS to be made. It’s a more usable layout system to control how the holes effect the core while still controlling pin to pap and PSA to pap

Mind you, i like that they dont need to measure my span every time or look for my insert fits but idk why a pitch black (15 Lbs) would be drilled exactly as a Gem (15 Lbs). I buy different types of balls to fill gaps in my arsenal but feel like they are drilled the same. I don't have major rev or speed so why would they be drilled the same? Also i should add that this proshop is in a house where i bowl league 2 nights per week plus do tournaments so each guy in there drilling knows my game well since we've bowled with or against each other for 20 plus years. I would like to know how my 45x4x35 layout is described in this system. .. HA! .. I just chatted with ChatGPT on the subject to get an idea. Basically, my 45x4x35 layout would be pretty close to a 4x2x4 layout in the Pin-to-Pap system, or Pin-Buffer system. Roughly anyway. All of my balls are drilled 45x4x35 and it seems to work quite well for me. This is what Radical calls a "versatile" layout, which I seem to prefer, but then again, I pretty much only bowl on our House Shot pattern, occasionally on a sport shot, but not often.

I just started bowling again and I’m actually interested in learning this information, but you lost me within the first quarter of this video. I will have to look up what the VAL and Diff means and see if that helps me understand more of this video. If I watch this video several times, I will probably begin to understand it better, but my point is that this difficult topic is very hard for the average bowler to grasp, so if your goal is to explain it to people like me, a little more translation into simple terms is probably needed.
