OH MAN! I really like that '59 Chevy El Camino sitting in the driveway. And I also saw the Corvair Monza in the main garage along with the Harley. Nice stash old man!
Corvair production reached 1,835,170 produced from 1960 until 1969. The Loadside is the rarest Corvair-just 2,844 were produced in 1961, and a minuscule 369 in 1962. Great catch Matthew
Dude man guy. You just scored yourself some SICK 1960s dragster front runners on the front of that 1st sand rail. And some killer deeeep dish chrome reverse rims from the same time period!
We had our Flatcoated retriever to have two lumps checked out on monday. One was a histiocytoma, which is not malignant, the other was just a clogged gland. Let’s hope Lady has a similar outcome
Just a bunch of honest to God nice people. I still don't know what the channel is about, but how good it makes me feel to watch people being nice to each other.
It is like hanging out with a decent bunch of friends or coworkers. Even their arguments and pranks are kind and polite (on camera at least). I don’t have a group like that in my life so it’s nice to hang out vicariously with the MORR team for a while each week.
It's neat, just hang out a while. In summary, the theme is off road recovery, but with a lot of fabrication, friendship and adventure. Plenty of charity thrown in, with a side of corvair hobbying.
At 11:28 in the background we see an immaculate 1959 Cheverolet El Comino "sport utility" vehicle. This is a pick-up truck like vehicle, except the open truck-bed in an integral part of the cab, unlike real pick-up trucks which are defined by the fact that the cab is utterly disconnected from the truck-bed. This model and style El Comino was made for just two model years (1959 & 1960). That one might be worth as much as $85,000 to $100,000. Four have sold this year for over $90,000. Of course we only see the back exterior, and those prices assume the entire machine is in near perfect condition.
Best wishes for lady ❤️ definitely in my prayers Love to see you guys rescuing a few classics and now you have me worried but I'm sure everything will work out if not I've seen that dog cover more ground then most see in their life ❤
Seeing Rhett driving that ‘64 Corvair with Matt reminds me of myself. When I was 18 I was driving my dad’s ‘63?Corvair that he bought when we moved to Minnesota. It had great traction in the snow compared to our other cars due to the weight of the rear engine over the drive wheels. But it was a bear to steer out of a skid due to the light front end having only marginal authority over what was happening in the back. I might have kissed a couple curbs back then. That was 1969. I’m 71 years old now and drive drive a 4WD Tesla that can do everything for me. How times have changed.
Ed’s cameo was of him walking around talking trash with a lit cigarette. Gotta love it! I learned how to make pancakes from a character like Ed named Ralph whom was a custom home builder. Ralph was 9000 years old, smoked a pack of camels every day since he was 12 and could keep pace with a fit 20 year old. Ralph bought a new BMW for his wife and kid, he drove an old Dodge truck. The trick to pancakes is add sugar to the batter and low heat cooked with butter. The sugar caramelizes and makes the outside crispy. Much love for the Eds and Ralphs of this world!
This kind of recovery is my favorite. It reminds me to keep working on my backyard car so I don’t become the old man with a car up to its axles. Throttle your addiction Matt, if you are actively using the parts then it is healthy to have spares. If you are not using the parts then make sure you are selling as many as you buy so it is still a hobby rather than a disorder.
Nice! Kinda wish that you had shown us more of that "59 Chevy sitting in the driveway while you were there. I'm looking forward to seeing what this van is going to end up looking like.
Thanks for this! Hee-larious. The trust you guys have in each other is outstanding. I held my breath when Matt and Brett put themselves between the "corvanagan" and concrete wall😮.
When I got out of the army in 1975, my dad gifted me a 60 corvair that one of my nieces had driven for half a day with the oil light on. I found a donar that I only had to provide the headlights and instrument cluster out of. The rest was mine! Swapped the engine, gave the rest to my uncle's body shop and I was on my way! The reason for this comment is that my 60 had an option that you REALLY need. It had a gas heater! There is nothing like going out to a Bountiful winter morning firing up the engine, then listening to the burner ignite when you push the heater knob! Granted it took the mileage from about 25 with the heat off to 19 with the heat on, but it was well worth it!
If Lady came out of that "Clarance moment" trip to the Vet without a Pup-Cup shame on you Matt. but seriously, that 1959 El Camino in the driveway is to die for.

Be aware of the front wheels on the yellow rail. They look to be magnesium American racing, 15” twelve spokes. From the video the wheels look good externally but moisture inside the tires will absolutely destroy the structure of the magnesium. If you’d want to sell them for display with dragsters of the period, I’d be interested. But either way give them a good check out before driving on them, don’t want anyone hurt.
One of the most interesting things about those old Corvairs was the Little Shift lever that stuck out of the dash just right of the steering wheel . I had a Sedan like the one Rhett has many years ago. I paid $90 for it and drove it several years. They were very unique cars. MWP Cosby,Tn

It would be great to see them bring it out to the Games and it would be great to see everyone working on a project together. The best builds to me are the ones that everyone kind of gets a hand into.
Matt, would love to see you bring your rock crawling fleet back east here to do some wheeling. Kentucky,Tennessee, the Carolinas all have some pretty gnarly trails. Heck,Rudy,Paul and Rory can come too with their toys. Would love to see you guys in action
Matts' doing a good job of tearing up the Utah desert biome. You don't need this help destroying up our National Forests. The Rednecks are doing a fine job on their own.
I wouldn't mind seeing a MORR version of a sand buggy that you guys could use as a second vehicle for doing as you suggested for the ROKON as in running back to the shop or a second camera vehicle or something. Would you try to 4WD it or decided that is too much weight, decisions like that. It could be a cool side project.
Matt, maybe too late to make this comment - but that van body would look awesome on the Bombi chassis! You could have a Cor-bombi recovery vehicle!
Thatd be cool to see
The monzi

Would love to see a Morrvair support van that matches. Heck, make it a fuel delivery vehicle for all the other rigs without operational fuel gauges.
But would that mean the van would itself need a working fuel gauge??
Surely there are rules against that, aren't there?

Wishing all the best for Lady, I'm sure she will be fine. That van looks like a great project, whatever you end up doing with it will be awesome. I know your schedule is crazy but has anyone considered going out to Wisconsin to help Eric and Mara at BSF with the new truck build.
I'd love to see a video of a lineup of everybody's Corvairs! I love hearing the stories behind the cars, and any odd facts about them.
I'm glad Matt was able to find more stuff to work on in his free time🤣
his 59 elcamino would be a score
I put a vid out on the El Camino
Prayers 🙏fort lady at// hope everything is ok ❤️
I would have "accidentally " grabbed the '59 El Camino!
I put the video out on the 59
I wouldn't mind seeing a MORR version of a sand buggy that you guys could use as a second vehicle for doing as you suggested for the ROKON as in running back to the shop or a second camera vehicle or something. Would you try to 4WD it or decided that is too much weight, decisions like that. It could be a cool side project.
