HEY! Good morning everybody and thumbs UP to Matt and crew! 👍👊👊👀
That gentleman was very nice sometimes your pride can be costly but it was a learning experience.
The wrecker was definitely the perfect vehicle and made that job look easy.
"Just pride and scratches." Glad he swallowed his pride and called for help, nice to see the wrecker doing traditional wrecker stuff.
SO I"M STUCK! - in Willow Alaska - it's minus forty degrees & no running water as it's all frozen & I have YOUR VIDEOS to escape into & I must say they allow me to escape with fond memories of living in Murray Utah with a paint shop 900 south & 900 west - I can't THANK YOU enough for what you provide
Now this is a classic Matt’s off-road video. Love seeing that beautiful Utah scenery! Thanks for sharing.
you're right, it is beautiful... I lived in Utah for 15 years, thank you for reminding me to stop and take a look around... it gets so every day for me living here, and I guess I started forgetting how cool this place is...
I'm currently spending the winter here in Southern Utah. This area is as pretty as any that I've seen, anywhere. The people here are top quality too. I love it here!!
Hey Tom, about the auto shut off on the Ram. There is a button under the ignition switch that you can push to turn it off and on. Also to keep the air bags from trying to level it out you can go under options and lock them in place. You're supposed to do that whenever they get jacked off the ground.
Yes this
A shorter one (with a little bit of sound issues), but right to the point of problem solving to make the recoveries. That's the best part!
Thanks for your comment I thought it was my headphones but then I realized the crackle only happened when the camera guy was walking around. TakeCare and have a GreatDay. ✌️
Yes the popping audio was very annoying.
thank you. Thought it was my phone
Usually the sound quality is quite good and consistent. But not this time.
Almost hard to watch with headphones thankful it’s a short one!
I suggest installing a couple of jump seats, seat belts and hand straps in the back of the Heavy Wrecker since it only sears two in front.
I used to guide down in that area, and my daughter played ball at Dixie State. We"ve spend a ton of time down your way, Matt, so it sure makes me happy to see the sights and hear the stories of your youth as well. Love this channel and this group of folks! From Chris, your man in Japan.
I love me some Matt's Off Road Recovery! Til next time, see you then. 😊
James May?
@@mediocreman2capitanu soro
Man I’ve seen a few videos where you have more people than seats in the wrecker. Looks like you could maybe mount a rzr seat on each of them tool boxes behind the cab.
@@mediocreman2 naw, not nearly that cool… or cautious… or rich…
This channel has MORR entertainment value than anything on TV.
I don't comment much, but I felt inclined to thank you for the amount of time that you entertain me. I love the channel, the dynamic, the friendships and family that are involved. You are a great crew and I greatly appreciate the time and effort in your channel. Thank you from a truly grateful fan.
I have been watching you from almost the very beginning and have seen every video you put out. I can't wait for every episode thank you for the good clean entertainment of being able to watch your life. Keep being an inspiration
That was awesome Tom and Matt! I loved seeing a different approach with the Ram recovery. The rigging was genius!
That was the perfect job for the heavy wrecker! 😁
It's crazy to think that Matt primarily had RZR with ripped off suspension in mind when he conceived the concept of a heavy offroad wrecker. This yellow Swiss Army knife is so much MORR capable than just rescueing side-by-sides... 😎🤟
I'm enjoying seeing the wrecker in it's element doing specialized things it was made to do! Thanks for taking us along :D
Use silicone spray instead of WD40 for heim joints. Ran into that issue and found that WD40 attracts dirt while silicone spray doesn’t. Should help with the squeaking until driving through water.
Agreed but WD-40 is now a brand with lots of products, including silicone spray.
Any Dry lube product will work. It will let you know when to reapply.
I really wonder if he said WD-40 on purpose to attract comments like this.
@@jeremyspeccemost likely
I think most people on Matt's level know this, but still joke about wd-40
The wrecker is amazing! Plus great thinking from Matt! Super cool that it could lift up with one winch and pull sideways with the other! Love this channel!
Agreed! The right tool for the job sure makes a man happy.
It's always nice to watch a professional at work doing whatever they do best. You can tell Matt loves his work!
Couple pit bikes on the trailer with the wrecker would be a good idea for the camera guys. They can ride ahead of the wrecker. Get some shots coming up and going down trail. Trail time video with couple go pro mounts. Be safe, great content.
The wrecker is certainly proving itself, Good job. Matt, you have great teams working with you
Just an FYI, Dorman actually sells the individual Spline Drive keys at Oreilly's! That way you don't have to buy a whole kit. Love the content as always. Keep it up guys!
Matt has passed the stage of stacking rocks!!!!!!!
Matt, it was very nice to meet you at O'Reilly's the other day. You're just as nice in person as you are in the videos.
Many blessings to you and your crew!!❤
Eric from Kentucky!!
It was nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by to say hi.
Clint? Is that you?
That looks like Hurricane Mesa and the old test range over beside ya'll at the beginning. I've never been, but driving up on the road there is a bucket list item for me one day!
And do it and NOT having to call ya'll to get me back down!
Great Recovery Matt: It is really nice how Tom summarizes the job and ask questions as to process & procedure used or if recovery should have been done differently. We all learn! Jake & Kolby great team!!
Awesome job you guys. Keep up the great work.
Matt's seat of the pants knowledge comes through once again! Outstanding rigging with zero added damage. Everyone won!
Another very enjoyable film.
You need a padded seat on the top of the boxes behind the cab of extra passengers.
I'm hoping you'll put a headliner in the wrecker sometime or paint it over. Just a wishlist item. You saved the Ram from terrible damage. There was hardly a mark on it visible from the rock. Great job with great equipment.
10:41 Tool boxes behind the cab of the wrecker could use some grab handles for when filmers sit on them.
Can bolt some cushions on top of them if you want to get fancy lol
Nice to have the wrecker as an option to make that job "look easy", right tool for the job! Thanks as always for sharing the adventures
Absolute professionals. Excellent work men.
That Dodge was outfitted to navigate shopping mall speed bumps at most.
Have a good day and count your blessings amen.
for the squeaky heim joints, try a moly paste. I have Jet Lube MP-50 which is a 50% moly paste. Moly greases are only a few percent. You'd have to undo the joint and coat the ball as you spin it around, but it works fantastic on things like this and lasts a long time.
Great recoverys guys.....that heavy wrecker is sure earning its keep !!..... thanks for sharing this with all of us
I like how you said "When" not "If". Honesty is big on this channel. 😁❤️🇺🇲
That was a great technique and using the WLOR Wrecker was the right tool for the job. I am sure this guy has to be a little embarrassed driving his truck over his own rock wall. Luckily, he did not push a bad situation.
Editors: We need a segment just for Matt’s words of wisdom and sayings like “When a job is done, it’s been begun a while ago.” Call it Matt’s recovered thoughts!😂
Great job. The WLORW is a beast. Silly question. Why not add two rear-facing Subaru Brat seats on top of the side boxes ?
As a former Ytber I'm not going to give you a hard time about the crackly audio... I'm just going to say I feel your pain. Personally I never notice the wrecker squeaks. I've watched Rory...
Lol, yeah.
I thought my AirPod was going out. Glad it was just the audio!
If its squeaking its earning!
Best lude for Heim Joints I have found is hands down a squeeze bottle of Tri-Flow. Never had a Heim noise after starting to use this. Comes with a thin applicator straw so doesn't need to be sprayed everywhere attracting more grit.
I came down to the comments to make the same suggestion
Great video I just love how Matt and his crew always find a way to fix or undo the problem, ingenuity, skill, and alot of common sense is needed for this job, but I always have faith that these guys will handle the problem 👍👍
Thanks for taking us along. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. You can also try dry silicone spray on the heim joints. WD-40 brand makes a dry silicone spray.
You guys are rock stars in the recovery business. I love watching your videos. Keep them coming and God bless you. For all the good work you do.
You know how a lizard lays on a hot rock….. that’s how seat heaters feel on my whole body. Love it!
I like these tricky challenging type recoveries...well done!
Yes
To alleviate the heim joint squeak, use a dry silicone or teflon spray. WD brand makes it under the "WD-40 Specialist Dry Lube with PTFE" label. Oil or grease will hold dirt.
Great recovery guys. I felt for that guy, new truck, he's gotta have been worrying it was gonna get worse when he was rescued. Very clean job. 👍🏻
Very nicely done! I'm guessing the customer drove into that in the dark.
Matt and Tom make a great team. I love Matt’s experience and gut instinct, but I also love Toms critical thinking and engineering approach. Perfect combo!
Matt nailed it about the hot pillow analogy. I only use my seat and steering wheel heaters to take the ice cold bite off the seat and wheel.
Great recovery Matt. Glad you put as many winches on the wrecker as you did. It saves time to be able to lift and pull at the same time.
Another great outdoor adventure recovery by Matt and the boys.
Good jobs there. Greg is doing really well on the camera work. Nice to see Thanks for the video.
Amazing! Your rollback doesn't have a cracked windshield like most of the other vehicles I see you, Paul, and Robby drive.😁
It's a new day. It's a new month. It's a new video from Matt's Off-road recovery. Happy All Saints Day. 🌅🌨️😱 Saint Matt.
Not many out there remember that... 😘🇬🇧
@@mcarter9839 bonfire 🔥 Sunday. Sunday. Sunday! Eh?! Seems like it was just Sunday. Where does the week go. Wait... It still All Saints Day! 🥳 Wednesday. Wednesday. Wednesday! 🥳😉
The wrecker continues to amaze in it's ability to solve problems! How did you ever live without it! 😉
On a lot of vehicles with auto start/stop, if it has a 'Tow Mode', that'll usually disable the auto stop if you want a quick way or the vehicle doesn't have a general button to turn it off.
Great video love the precision rescuing anew truck!!
Another cool video! FYI - in the RAM 1500s, there is a button right below the rotary gear selector to turn off the auto stop/start feature.
The only thing worse than auto stop/start is cylinder deactivation.
Ever think about a 6-7' bar with assorted attachment points? 2 loops on one side at the ends of the bar and several loops on the other side so you have a spreader bar for soft shackling both tires to the end loops and multiple points on the other side to pull from. think about it....
Morning Matt and crew
Definitely worth having all the different winch locations on the wrecker!! Great recovery!!
As an avid off roader, replacing valve stems in the field is a somewhat common occurance. For the standard non TPMS a colby stem is quick and easy without breaking down the tire. I still use my old compression sleeve/funnel setup and force the new stem in from the outside. Fishing the remains of the old one out is the hardest part so sometimes I just punch it in and worry about it later when the riding is done..... Or not.
Yep! Was going to make a comment about the Colby stems too, keep a couple in my rig.
Yes, Colby stems are cheap insurance. Highly recommend.
YES!!! Totally agree on the seat heaters!
Kudos to Greg for nice camera work...and also for riding in the back of the wrecker...outside in chilly 50 degrees weather!
Tom with a very polite description
Lovely rescue and veey
Professional job
Nice lift job 👍🏻 The Wrecker on the rollback combo looks great 😎
You guys are great! From recoveries to welding instruction - always a good watch!
Hello MORR! Making the day better as usual.
I've never seen a wrecker hauling a wrecker that wasn't wrecked! Lol. Pretty cool!! Love the show from Anchorage Alaska!!!
That was quite the feat of engineering! Matt must have played with tinker toys when he was a kid. 😄
Beautiful truck. Can’t believe it. Nice job 👍
Love the editing on this one. Great job Colby. Also, If you decide to spray WD40, I'd recommend the Lithium grease WD40 can.
Love this channel! Look forward to watching them everytime you make a new one. Keep on rocking MORR!!
The wrecker is a beast.
That was a delicate and skilful recovery of that Ram 👍
Myth: WD-40 Multi-Use Product is not really a lubricant.
Fact: While the “W-D” in WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is a unique, special blend of lubricants. The product's formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal.
Repeat after me: WD40 is a "SOLVANT" not a "LUBRICANT"
@@lavluvlov Ignorant 🤭
@lavluvlov Indeed, in practical use it can be used as a short term lubricant but it loses those properties fast and with consequences ...
@@lavluvlov When you have a squeaky door hinge, it's a lubricant.
Hey Matt, I’m just trying to help you out but somewhere along time ago, I seen somebody that had to do a similar type of lift on a vehicle and he had an adjustable pole that would go over the hood of the vehicle and push the two winch cables apart a little bit so they wouldn’t hit the fenders on the vehicle. And with that he’s able to lift off of both wheels and maneuver, the vehicle where he wants it. Hope this helps you guys out
I really liked Matt's description of heated seats. 😂 I can't stand them, except to take the chill out of the seat when the car has been sitting in cold weather. First sign of my back getting hot it gets turned off. Some days it makes me feel like I had an accident in my pants. 😂
I took a nice lady out on a date, she suggested we take her luxury car, and I drive. About 15 minutes later I've got the window down, I'm panting like a dog, and I say, "you know maybe going out tonight isn't such a good idea, I think I may have a fever". She said, "I put the seat heater on for you". I'd never even heard of a seat heater. Turned it off, I was fine, two years later I married her, still married, no heated seats in any of my cars.
Chronic lower back pain makes me appreciate heated seats big time
Heated seats are great if you live somewhere that gets COLD in the winter!
However, my old Chevy heated seats have developed a mind of their own. Seems to be a well known problem that the switches go bad.
By the time I realize they have turned on in the summer, it’s too late. My back will be sweating until I get where I’m going.
I’m pulling the door panel and unplugging them next spring.
You should try cooled seats.
You might try Maxima Chain Wax on your rod ends. It’s a dry lubricant. I’ve had good luck for years with it.
It still seems odd to me that these newer trucks do not come with recovery points standard anymore. They are an option, and not often added on trucks that dealers have on the lot. I had to order mine with them, along with a few other options.
It's because they're all compromised lifestyle vehicles now rather than something capable and purposeful like trucks used to be.
There were a few recalls on various vehicles due to recovery points digging in on dips and triggering the airbags. Might have something to do with it.
Has anyone else noticed the big smile on the wrecker when the camera looks out over the bonnet? It’s almost as big as the smile on Matt’s face when he drives the wrecker.
A seating option for the wlorw would be to add a receiver plate on top of the tool boxes and and male adapter on some jump seats and they can be taken on and off easily
I have removable swivel mounts in my boat
Why didn’t you just say the wrecker
Recently started watching and I’m hooked 😂😂
For most vehicles that have the "Auto Off" feature, there is usually a button where you can turn it off. I agree it is super confusing when you are trying to do anything accept normal driving (like going in reverse for example). It's one of those newer car features I wish they would just do away entirely. All it does is maybe save maybe 1 MPG while wearing your starter out.
Got love them soccer trucks off rd.great money to be made
Wrecker to the rescue... couldn't have accomplished that so elegantly with anything else. Great episode!
factory jack and a few blocks man people getting dumb .
Thanks for making
Put Matt in the “back” seat and I’ll bet he figures out how to add a couple of jump seats real quick.
Gotta have Kaitlin driving ! 😱
She "scares" him 😂 ☠
( Loved it when she quipped :
"pretty hard to NOT drive it like
you _stole_ it if i have to *hotwire*
the ignition _every_ time" ) 🤷♀️
Good ole Stalantis Ram doin what they do.
The cool thing about Yankum's new pulley design is that you can run your winch line through the center hole as well and not have to worry about the line staying in the outside groove of the pulley. In this case it wasn't needed. But if the tension was becoming loose and then tightening up again using the center hole would save the worry of the line coming off the outside groove.
Couple of easy ones ! But interesting ! Thanks for sharing !
The fact that guy didn't jack it up a bit and pile rocks under the tire make a ramp to back up off the rock is the reason you guys have a great channel and business. Hell yah for people knowing very little 😂
sadly,people are so useless nowadays!
Hey Matt, been a fan of the show for a long time. Was thinking about how much I enjoyed the series of videos about the wrecker build and wanted to ask if you'd ever consider building a recovery heavy duty pick up? Thinking of something along the lines of a support rig for king of the hammers but made for recoveries instead. Would love to see something like an F100 body swapped on a 3500 chassis with an LS in it. Just an idea but would be amazing to see. Keep up the amazing work guys!!!
Hey Matt and Crew! Really enjoy your videos... Not my place to ask but I just wanted to find out... What happened to the reckers windscreen, and when are you making the roof lining pretty😅 Or is that the way you wanted it? Armand from South Africa... Over and out😎 Wishing I had the same radios as you guys... They look like great quality!
Thanks for the video guys
