I really love the Gauntlet. It is so soft and absorbent and is everything I want in a drying towel. Waffle weave is what I use exclusively for windows.
I've been using the Gauntlet for most of my washes and it is great. I do have the twistress too as sometimes I just don't want to weild that large of a towel. Great products.
Double Twistress and Twist N Shout are the best, no love since they aren’t the latest….but they are the greatest! And yes, I own multiple of them, Liquid8R’s, Gauntlets, and Pluffles.
I’ve used many brands over the years. I finally bought a MasterBlaster and never looked back. It’s fast, efficient, and always ready. It also gets water out of cracks and crevices that a towel just can’t touch. Cheers!
You cannot go wrong with the Gauntlet, but honestly I really loved the performance out of the Liquid8r. I just need a set to compliment the one in my arsenal that I got last January at a super discounted price!
I use all except the 1500, the double 'Twistress' is a heavily used drying towel. Just watch out for the edges of logos and trim, they like to snag that longer twist loop.
For a quicky, I turn to the 1500. When I really want more of a good time, I use the Liquid8r. Both get you there, but it just depends on how much time you’ve got to knock it out.
I’m from Australia and I’m using the Wolf Pack drying towels they are so soft and delicate for my dark coloured cars paint I absolutely love them and when I pare it with a drying aid the drying phase is even more satisfying and safer.
Liquid8r is seriously an amazing towel. The second to the largest size is my go-to since it is double thick. Absorbs so much water for the size I love it. Gauntlets are nice too.
I have them all (except the 1500) and love them all, but I reserve the car wash towels for door jambs only. If you're trying to decide which one is for you, just go ahead and buy them all. Then use whatever suits your fancy for the day!
I've got a bunch of them I like the gauntlet a lot, anything heavy is my liquid8r and then gauntlet after. But the ultimate is the 1500 it's best in everything hands down
I have two liquid8r on the medium size one brand new . I was shocked when I used it . Just placed another order of 2 16×16 with a drying aid and this towel is should complete my Job really quick
The Double Twistress is my go-to, although the Liquid8r is a close second. I find myself chasing streaks whenever I use the Gauntlet; I'm sure it's user error!
Great video loaded with helpful information! The only thing I would like to see with the info graphics is along with the "capacity" of how much water the towel will hold is how effective the absorbency "rate or effectiveness" of the towels are.... As a normal customer, I personally don't need to know that I can dry several cars with the same towel but which towel soaks up the water the best while protecting my paint. It would also be great to see that info graphic on the website on the individual product page, along with that maybe a click to compare or even just a chart showing the specs for the towels side by side? It's hard to see exactly what product is best, and as a customer it gets hard to choose when there are so many options without the full extent of the information.
Credit Nate for that one! We’ve been a/b testing thumbnails lately to see what people like so tomorrow you’ll see a more “traditional” looking alternative one that Dane made. (And the following day it’ll go back to this one)
For me it's the Liquid8r+small gauntlet if I just clean one part with some rainless wash (birds really like my car). The 1500? if I had a truck maybe but I have a small german coupe car.
I’m a bit confused. On your website for the 1500, you say no drying aids. But the liquidator you specifically recommend drying aids. They are both the same blend and same weave. Just the 1500 is heavier. Can you explain?
Gauntlets. Bought another 2 pack...Can't get past the 'Crusty' feeling of my new Liquid8r's....Washed twice right out of packages with Rags to Riches and a tic better.
I have a question. I have a couple drying towels that worked great until they were put in the washer.. Now they do not seem to absorb half as much as previously? I wash them on there own with non scented soap and dry on air dry. Is there a way to rejuvenate the towel to absorb again?
@The Rag Company Greetings, my question is the following. Do I use a ceramic detailer spray as a drying aid? When I finish drying the car, do I put the towel to dry and then put it in the machine to wash?
FYI. I purchased a "purple or pink" drying towel and do NOT recommend it. It does get too wet when drying a regular size car. When you hold it up to sunlight, you can see through it. I did purchase the 'Gauntlet" towel for my son in law, and he seems to like it? I use a leaf blower to "Blow Dry" the car first, then use a small drying towel to finish with a drying aide. Remember, the more you touch the car, the more chance you have to scratch it.
When talking about the Dry Me a River, you mentioned looking at other options if you were to be picking up a lot of contamination. Does this mean you recommend something else for drying a rinseless wash?
I like a twist loop for rinseless. Bothe the liquid8r and gauntlets work great for me with rinseless. The gauntlet is exceptionally good as it’s softer if you are worried about any dirt still being on the surface, but I alternate between them.
Hey Anthony, i use edgeless 500 towels and they leave lint on the surface. I wash them with rags to riches. Do i need to replace them or what do i have to do? I love these towel but the lint on black paint is very annoying. Thanks. Great video's as always from TRC team!!!
Hello Sven! Sorry to hear your edgeless 500 lints. Anthony had talked about it the previous podcast with their guests. Might want to listen and watch that podcast. Hope this helps!
It’s phasing out due to slow sales. It’s a fantastic towel and can go toe-to-toe with the ones shown here, but people just end up choosing the others by a large enough margin it’s not worth continuing at this point. (That’s why you don’t see it in this video)
i’m a gauntlet man, my daddy was a gauntlet man, his daddy was gauntlet man, his dad…well you get it! don’t bring nothing but a gauntlet round here ya hear me!
That’s a fantastic towel that can go toe-to-toe with the best of’em! However, it’s been on its way out due to slow sales, (People choose other options) so that’s why you don’t see it included in this video. They can still be bought while supplies last, though!
Pluffle is the worst towel I’ve ever bought. Have 15 of those and regret it. Streaks heavy does not absorb well. Really does not do anything good and is pricey
We've always gone out of our way over the years to explain that the Pluffle is a very specific use-case. Our other drying towels like waffle weaves and twist loops will always do a better job avoiding streaks than the Pluffle, but the Pluffle specifically exists to satisfy the niche of car owners who are incredibly paranoid about how fragile their clear coat/paint is. The longer pile that contributes to the streaks you noticed is the very thing that allows it to safely traverse any surface without fear of dragging contaminants against the finish. Basically, it's strength is it's weakness, and vice versa. If you don't have ultra-delicate paint then any of the other drying towels would be a much better fit for your needs.
Double Twistress and Twist N Shout are the best, no love since they aren’t the latest….but they are the greatest! And yes, I own multiple of them, Liquid8R’s, Gauntlets, and Pluffles.

I have Gauntlets, Twistress' and Dry Me a River.
None! Spot free rinse with a blower any nooks and crannies. The less I touch the paint the happier I am.
I really love the Gauntlet. It is so soft and absorbent and is everything I want in a drying towel. Waffle weave is what I use exclusively for windows.
@@chargerman426 Yea, I wish I didn't have super hard water. That sounds nice.
The gauntlet... hands down the best drying towel.
Agreed!
I've been using the Gauntlet for most of my washes and it is great. I do have the twistress too as sometimes I just don't want to weild that large of a towel. Great products.

You are correct! Love my MasterBlaster. No more wet cracks and crevices.
Careful with the 1500 when putting in the washing machine. It will turn any light colored stuff pink/red when washing.
Got a harbor freight one and it turned out way better than expected. First drying towel I’ve bought
The Matador(1500) has the capability of drying off a charging bull. I love mine👍
You cannot go wrong with the Gauntlet, but honestly I really loved the performance out of the Liquid8r. I just need a set to compliment the one in my arsenal that I got last January at a super discounted price!
I like my liquid8r the most, still trying to find the best size for me
I own most of those towels and as a mobile detailer i absolutely love them.

Lol same here. I just got the 1500 yesterday and a new gauntlet 👍🏁

Can I take credit for this content after the Q&A sessions 😂 great content like always from the gang at TRC!

Gauntlets are nice too.
The gauntlet 12×12 are the best. Small enough to ring out. It's like a water magnet. I also have the biggest size I use first before the 12×12.
Nice video and review of the towel line up Anthony. Have pretty much all of these and enjoy all of them.

Thanks for the content Mr. Ant Dawg!!! And I agree, back in the day, Waffle Weaves were the Shizzy!!!! 😂😂😂
😂 caught me off guard but I like it
I have two liquid8r on the medium size one brand new . I was shocked when I used it . Just placed another order of 2 16×16 with a drying aid and this towel is should complete my Job really quick
I do prefer the liquid8r over the gaunlet. And for me nothing beat the feel of a pluffle and a quick detailer at a car show!
Top notch content from a top notch company.

What’s wrong with the liquid8r? I was about to get some over the guanlet
Love my twistress towels 👌
Great video Anthony !!!!
Are the car wash towels good for a final wipe down or what is recommended for that
Nice!
Blow off most of the water wth leaf blower and come back with a drying aid and TRC waffle weave.
I have a question. I have a couple drying towels that worked great until they were put in the washer.. Now they do not seem to absorb half as much as previously? I wash them on there own with non scented soap and dry on air dry. Is there a way to rejuvenate the towel to absorb again?

Greetings, my question is the following. Do I use a ceramic detailer spray as a drying aid? When I finish drying the car, do I put the towel to dry and then put it in the machine to wash?
What is the difference between the Gauntlet and the twist n shout?
Liquid8r ftw. 😎
Help me out here please - what do you do after drying a car , just leave it hanged somewhere to dry ? Also , how often do you wash these ? Thanks
We recommend hanging it to dry and then giving it a machine wash!
I love the gauntlet towel it's starting to not dry as good. I wash with rag to riches separate from other towels. I air dry. What am I doing wrong.
Did you use drying aids?
Throw it in the dryer at low temp to dry it, the dryer will make the towel fluffy and absorbent again
FYI. I purchased a "purple or pink" drying towel and do NOT recommend it. It does get too wet when drying a regular size car. When you hold it up to sunlight, you can see through it. They are great for rinseless, but if you “missed” a spot, the deeper pile of a twist loop would be a safer option.
You mentioned Japanese cars have softer paint is that still true ?
