Pan, I have learned a lot from you videos. I bought this past spring, SIMONIZ Platinum Professional Microfibre PlushEdged Drying Towel, 35 x 25-in from Canadian Tire. I can dry all my small SUV at once. Works well. What is your thoughts on this towel?
Hi Ross, you must have had the ones that actually worked as advertised. I purchased two of the same ones and had an absolutely terrible experience with them. They would’nt absorb water for love nor money. They seemed to spread it around more than dry it up. I use the Liquidator towels now and they are monumentally better. I’m glad you had success with them.
I personally use the Chemical Guys towel and observed the same results which I found disappointing. Nevertheless it’s an excellent towel. A word of caution to all. Bigger is not always better. The bigger it is the heavier it becomes when wet. It also becomes very awkward to use.
You are correct, big towels are not always the way to go as they have their application. In Texas my customers love their trucks and full size SUV’s to include myself. I have small and big towels to use based on size of vehicles when I am drying side panels as opposed to roof, hood, trunks, etc.
Watched this test to confirm my experience with the Chemical Guys Wooly Mammoth. Can't even dry my Miata and leaves LOTS of lint behind. Looking forward to trying the Rag Company products.
We're on the same page Scott. Yeah the TRC drying towels are top notch. Of course, always wash your towels before their first use. And don't wash microfiber towels with other types of fabrics from your regular laundry (clothes, etc).
I have CG and your results are accurate. I got my towel for Amazon Prime day, so best bang for the buck. I like the size. I have a pearl white car, perfection not needed. Probably not the best towel for a black car.
I used the Gauntlet for a long time and loved it....until I tried Luxury Microfiber's Sucker. Noticeable improvement in water pickup and retention. I also bought a Sucker Lite which has a softer fiber on the "non-drying" side to smooth out any topper you may be using. I am able to dry my wife's X7 with a single 20" X 32" Sucker Lite. Haven't yet tried the Liquid8r.
I find that with twist loop drying towels they generally perform consistently great from the start, whereas plush towels they tend to do poorly at the beginning when they're bone dry, but after they've picked up a bit of water into all of the fibers they perform pretty much just as well as twisted loop. Osmosis is easier with the twist loop towels because the water is able to get into more fibers as they're bunched together.
My favorite is the Griots PFM. I also have TRC Gauntlet and Liquid8R. I use the Griots PFM as my primary towel with Auto Fanatic 007 Gloss Enhancer and it works great. I use the TRC Gauntlets as the second towel to buff. I only buy the Griot PFM when it's on sale usually during Black Friday, it goes down to $32 bucks.
I've always liked to pick a drying towel that also has a smaller version of it that I can use for drying wheels and tires separately. In my case I use the Griots PFM Terry Weave Drying Towel you have in the video along with their 16x16 version (also 1120 GSM - a 2pk is $19.99)
I tested several microfiber towels. If you compare the amount of water a towel holds every good towel will absorb about the same amount per ounce of cloth. If you want to absorb more, just used the gsm and convert the area to square meters and multiply. The one with a larger value will always absorb more.
I personally have the first version of the gauntlet. Absolutely love it. I even have a few of the smallest gauntlets as my final buffing towels. Previously I tried the mammoth and found that it lints badly on my car despite being ceramic coated. I downgraded it as my shower rug for after baths and showers 😂

The Rag Company 1500 is hands down the best drying / detailing towel I've ever had. I was not able to get any wet streaks out of it even after drying a whole SUV. It absorbs water so well! The only thing I can complain is that it's 30x30" and it is extremely heavy and bulky. I wish they had half that size.
I feel like wringing out your towel a couple times is worth having a less cumbersome tool. Unless there's some great reduction in a towel's durability from wringing it out. I'm new to detailing and there's a lot to learn.
Those towels bleed red so bad it's absurd. Literally, 10 washes later and they're still bleeding red. So I have to run some sacrificial towels through the washer after washing the 1500 to pick up the dye so it doesn't ruin my next load of whites.
I've had the earlier version of the Gauntlet for a couple of years and have been disappointed in the performance as it left streaks. On the other hand, I have the Sucker Jr. and can dry my entire sedan or my wife's compact SUV without needing to wring it out or use a second towel. No drops, no streaks. It should be noted I used Bead Maker as a drying aid.
I have the Rag CO Gauntlet 15X24. The size is perfect for me. I have small hands, so wringing out towels any larger is a challenge. It does a great job on my SUV. I recently received my EGO blower, so now I am using that but I still finish up some areas with the gauntlet. Thanks for posting another informative video. Keep them coming.
I have a sucker and a sucker jr. I use the sucker for the wife’s minivan and it does the whole thing with no problem and is still sucking up water all the way to the end, and the junior for my motorcycle. The sucker does get pretty heavy toward the end. If doing it over I would probably just get 2 sucker jr’s and use both on the van and alternate on the moto but regardless I can’t recommend the sucker line enough - I love them.
For years, my favorite drying towel was the Griot's PFM. It is only recently that it was finally bested in my personal collection by the Luxury Microfiber Sucker. That's my new favorite, but in my experience, those are the best 2 on the market.
I’ve been using the liquid8r and of all the towels I’ve tried, it has the best absorption in my experience! Not the softest/plushiest feeling towel, but still super high quality as usual from TRC! Thanks for sharing, Pan!
I bought the Liquidator towel because of Rag Company's show. My first set, the towel started getting caught on everything and so lines started coming apart. I bought a second set to see if it was just the manufacturing, but the same thing happened. I wrote to the Rag Company and they said it's very normal for the Liquidator to fall apart over a few uses, but yours look so dang good and new..
Twist loop always have a chance of getting caught in emblems and sharp logo edges, but you can cut the fibers off with a pair of scissors if that happens.
I‘ve had the rag company double twistress for about a year and a half after watching your first of these videos and I love those still as my drying aid towels. I have a liquid8r now that I use for drying without adding protection. I love the hemmed edge on the liquid8r for getting into trim and mirrors where water likes to hide. I’m my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a rag company product!
I too bought the double twistress after watching pans earlier video , if I recall it beat out the original gauntlet…I do find it to be a bit rough feeling compared to my Adam’s towel. I may try the gauntlet 2.0 if it’s softer feeling ? Pan , which is more plush , gauntlet or liquidator?
Yeah, stick with The Rag Company microfiber towels, so much better! Here are their towels: amzn.to/3QTMUoD I made a video about which towels are best for different uses here: th-cam.com/video/VOCy2l8bdm4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r1bCf6Fgx5PkLiVK Also, always make sure you wash your new towels before their first use.
I really appreciate this video Pan and all of these towels are light years ahead of a chamois. I personally use the Gauntlet for everyday drying and a waffle weave for drying around emblems and tight nooks and crannies. The Rag Company does have the 1500 which looks like a beast of a towel. Perhaps one day someone will develop these microfiber towels into shower towels and wash cloths which I would definitely buy. It would be nice not removing all of the lint from the dryer todays shower towels leave behind. One last tip is to make sure and wash your towels after using a drying aid because it will cause streaking the next time you use your towel. Thank you for the video and I hope your doing well!
Pan, I have been using the Rag Company's Gauntlet Towel (15"x24") to dry my vehicles and it has worked wonderfully. They have held up for 15 months and going strong.
I’ve had Luxury Microfiber Sucker for about 18 months. Great towel and still dries just as well as the first time I used it. I’ve also had the PFM and seems that after about a year it’s not as effective at drying as it once was.
Thank you so much, for saying the word.... subjective! I still use my Italian brand chamois for the paint. Microfiber on the windows is fine. Although my cost is $67.00 per piece. 3 vehicles, 33 washes each per year. They last a minimum of 8 years! Great vid!
I have a pretty high pile of drying towels from many manufacturers...And they all work pretty well, but I'd have to say my go-to towel seems to be The Rag Company's "Double Twistress" at 850 GSM, because of it's handy 20"x24" size and ease of use... It's very absorbent, not unwieldy, folds well during use, and is still 1-handable even loaded up. Alcantara/ suede edges, nice thickness, smooth sliding. Just about everything you could ask for. Close second for me is the "Liquid8r" also by The Rag Company, but I find it's 1100 GSM pile just a bit too thick even in the 20"x24" size to 1-hand when it's full, but they do make a 16"x16" which I will likely order a pair of for this coming spring. Honorable mentions to the gorgeous Purple Maxshine 1200GSM Microfiber Drying Towel in 24"x35" which is among my favorite large-format "drag-style" drying towel. I just find these larger towels are more clumsy to use doing doors and lower panels, splitters, diffusers and things near the ground... dragging the tips or edges of your drying towel on the ground are just asking for a scratch, so I definitely agree with your preference for the smaller sizes. Keep up the great work and the amazing content!! I've learned so much from you, and have been entertained at the same time !!
The Double Twistress was in my previous test here: th-cam.com/video/079H_dpxlUo/w-d-xo.html And yes that's a great drying towel too. Thanks for sharing your experience Scott!
I'm a bit late to your party here. I've just purchased a new car after 20 years and want to keep it looking new. This video is the best I've come across with unbiased thorough information and practical visual testing. I'm happy to say I will be purchasing one or two of your recommendations here. Thank you for sharing and good fortunes to you.

Pan - have to share with you and everyone! After seeing your take and a few others on drying towels, I chose the Liquid8r and could not be more impressed! After washing cars, I used the 24x36 to dry a Tacoma and a Highlander and it still felt as if I could have done more! Keep up the good work!
I agree with you the 16x16 two pk is the way to go you can dry a small with one towel or a bigger car or truck with 2 towels they hold a ton of water and last forever if you look after them. Im pretty sure the pfm come in 3 sizes . Enjoy your towels I find them to be the best. 👌🏻🇨🇦oh and they go on sale all the time through out the year.
Great video Pan as usual. I was supprised that the Autofiber Dreadnought wasn't tested. I prefer it in the Jr. size but that is just my preference. Keep up the great work

I’ve been using the Liquidator for a little while now and I find it to be a great drying towel. I have the mid size and two of the small size, just the way they came when I ordered. The mid size is the main workhorse and the small ones are used for the final drying of those little drips that seem to wait until the bitter end to show up! Combined with P&S rinsesless wash and the UBS, I can get my car done in 30-45 minutes. Thank you for doing the testing and crunching the numbers, I’ve learned quite a lot from your videos!
I'm sorry but the chemical guys wooly mammoth does suck up a lot of water, but the lint and fibers it leaves behind is ridiculous . I have to use another drying towel on top of that to get all the lint off! Great review video Pan!....I went with the Liquid8r on your recommendation... Thanks!
I have been using the Pluffle towel for many years, which is a very soft plush waffle weave. I may try the Gauntlet next time. I’m not a fan of twist loop, as they are not nearly as soft. Nice video Pan!
I've said it in a Pan video before and ill say it again, I've never tried all of these towels but I do have 2 of the gauntlet towels and I swear by them. They are amazing and it blows my mind how much water they can hold. I recommend the gauntlet towels greatly
I have used both the Gauntlet and The Rag Company’s Twist N’ Shout drying towels on my cars. In my experience, the Twist N’ Shout drys much better than the Gauntlet. The Twist N’ Shout by TRG is my go to towel.
I have the chemical guys one from when I first started learning how to detail and it did the job. I've had it for about 8 months so it has lasted with out any breakdown. But I have been looking at getting something that does streak as much and absorbs more. This video helped a lot. Thanks Pan!
I've used the Griot's PFM for the past 3 yrs. Outstanding towel. One towel easily takes care of an entire vehicle, even large vehicles. My only complaint is that the twisted loop snags pretty easily. I'm seriously considering trying to Gauntlet though, just to lower my cost per towel a bit.
Last summer I ended up buying Gauntlet by TheRagCompany, mainly because the last video you did actually talked me into it. Even though I mistakenly ordered the one that's half the size of the one in this video, it performs crazy well. Especially under the right conditions (about 25-30 celcius for me) I noticed that it would dry my car almost "no-drop-left" perfectly even with the not DI water I have in my house. Great video Pan, thanks again!
The Rag Company Gauntlet for the car and Liquid8r for my vespa and door frame from the car , i love the sizes from them 16x16 for the vespa is more than enough and 2 off them i do my mini cooper with
love the liquid8r towels, i use them with a drying aid after using my leaf blower. my only complaint would be when the twist get caught on emblems or sharp edges they come apart very easy. I just cut those strands and keep it moving.
I’ve tried the CG Wooly Mammoth, LMF Sucker Jr and Rag Co. Gauntlet. Let’s be honest I think all towels at some point need a 2nd wipe. With that said the Gauntlet, in its various sizes works the best for me. In the Arizona summer I use the larger size for the quickest drying time then switch to a smaller size for the intricate work. I use a deionizer for my water as it’s 350 tds out of the spigot.
Oh yeah, the Gauntlet is pretty incredible. I took your advice awhile back, and I'm very, very happy. Cool part is that you need more than one if you do multiple cars. When ones in the wash, pull out another. That's where the price point comes into play. Don't go broke buying superior towels. All the different sizes really helps too. Very good review, Pan. Thank you.
Just used the liquid8r and gotta say it left my cars full of lint even with the fact that I washed it by itself before I used it. I guess I’ll just stick with good old double twistress drying towels 70/30 blend.
G'day Pan, I have the original Rag Company Gauntlet in 2 sizes 24x15 and 12x12, I have 2 towels of each size. The 24x15 is easy manageable for me and the 12x12 is great for door handles, door jams and the various channels to get in and dry them. Great test.
New to the detailing universe. Great videos. Thanks. Viewed several channels on the subject of drying towels and no one seems to mention what to do if they become saturated and more drying has to be done. Can you just wring and wring 'em out until water stops dripping? Dumb question, maybe. But reviews so far I've seen are spread it out, slide it off one time and, "Yup. Picks up water." Kudos to you for responding to ALL your vids, not just the most recent ones!!
Thanks for the positive feedback! I appreciate it. You can certainly wring out the towels, but more for the smaller sizes. The ultra oversized ones (for large vehicles) are harder to wring out, but on the flip-side, you shouldn't really have to wring them out as they can absorb a lot of water and you should be able to do the entire vehicle. And if you are towel drying, it's always recommended to use a quick detailer or drying aid as a buffer between the paint and the towel (less chances of marring as the drying aid acts as a lubricant) and that also helps with picking up water. Or the best scenario, if your paint is protected (wax, sealant or coating) is to use a car dryer or leaf blower (like I do) to quickly go around the vehicle. That removes 95% of the water in just a few minutes. And then you can go over the paint with a towel and drying aid to pick up the residual droplets of water and give that final touch of gloss/slickness. That's what I do. Welcome to my channel. I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
I own all of these towels except the Chem Guys. As far as performance goes , I feel the PFM & Luxury microfiber perform the best. The gauntlet works ok, nice on soft paint though. The Liquid8r works ok, but it is very inexpensive. My opinion for the best performing (without cost being an issue) are Klin drying towel Duo, Glacier by McKee’s, PFM (large edgeless version) and Luxury microfiber. The Speed Master Notorious dry is also great. Almost identical to Luxury Microfiber
My friend who owns a detailing business gave me a drying towel and it's my favorite, I'm not sure what towel it is. I'm probably going to purchase the rag company gauntlet soon.
High GSM towels get heavy fast and are difficult to wring dry. Water that's not wrung fromt the towel smears onto the car and increases your drying time. I personally prefer waffle weaves. My favorite being the Gtechniq Mf4. (Edit - I've used the Chemical Guy's waffle weave, the Gtechniq, and the Rag Company's Gauntlet.)
Chemical guys towel while not my favorite I've seen absorbs better once it gets damp. I've seen the same streaking on my Adams graphene ceramic coated vehicle but I've found if I lightly mist the towel as well as the paint with Adams graphene detail spray then there isn't any streaking issues. While I havent tested other detail sprays/drying aids if you use them often you might not see a difference between the chemical guys towel and the others.
I had a Chemical guys towel did not like it so i sent it back and bought more of another one i bought from Fox Clean Premium Detailing. Great drying towel.

You did this last year or something similar, but I tried the The Rag Company Liquid8r and haven't been disappointed one bit. I could wash 2+ cars and use just that 1 towel to try off all the water. While the other microfiber drying towels I've had only disappointed me (chemical guys).
Great video Pan. I have used two of the five towels on the video, the Gauntlet and the Woolly Mammoth. The WM is ok but takes a couple of passes to dry. The Gauntlet on the other hand is awesome! It dries on the first try. I will be purchasing the Luxury brand drying towel as it did a great job.
I have been using Mcguiar’s Water Magnet for a few years. From what I see in this video I should get better results with Rags company products. Will definitely try one next summer.
Mammoth and Gauntlet are both popular,, but the Griots is one I haven't heard if until today. I've been using Luxury Microfiber's Sucker Jr. It's plenty big enough for my Veloster and it's was a huge upgrade from the fluffy high pile towels I had from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Use their waffle weave to pickup any leftovers, windows,, and door jams. Then I don't even remember how I got it, but I somehow acquired a small 16x16 twisted loop towel, dark gray on one side and scarlet on the other, but that's perfect for wheels!

I have a wooly mammoth, a gauntlet & a GTECHNIQ diamond sandwich towel and I find the gtechniq the absolute best in absorption and performance, but the gauntlet is a very very close second place! Can’t fault either. The wooly mammoth, as some have said too, doesn’t absorb as well initially but gets better, but it is also so big and cumbersome to use that I only use it on large vehicles really

If only this video showed up before I got the Chemical guys Wolly mammoth. I used it for the past 2 months and I hate that it leaves streaks. From afar it looks like it dried it good but once you come closer to it you can see all the streaks that it left which drives me crazy. Now I know which one to get thanks for the video
I've tried many different drying towels including the Rag company towels and none of them compare to my two 12 year old, but like new to this day "The Absorber" towels. Why is it that no one in the professional YT detailing community not ever speak about The Absorber? I think many, many, and I mean MANY people are missing out. They work better than anything in existence when it comes to sucking water up from my vehicles and have never given me any problems. Just thought I'd share. Stay up. 🤙🏽
Why nobody speaks of towels like the "Absorber" is because synthetic chamois-style towels are a thing of the past. Yes the Absorer is made of PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) making it safer compared to old school leather chamois, but it's still a chamois. Micorifbers are way softer on the clear coated finishes and as this is a detailing channel, I recommend what is safest to use. The majority of marring on the paint happens during the hand washing and towel drying phases. So in order to minimize the chances of those, it's best to use the safest techniques and tools available. And microfiber towels are the best for drying paint. (Actually using a car dryer or blower is even better as that's a touchless option, but that's for another video). Pretty much all the drying towels in my video are top tier and work flawlessly in my experience. So if you like the Absorber, that's ok too. Nobody will judge you for that. To each their own. But not many pro detailers or detailing enthusiasts use chamois anymore.
@@PanTheOrganizer yeah, I've used actual chamois way in the past and did not like them at all. The Absorber towels are way different and just basically leave 0 streaks or 0 water. Makes sense today's drying towels are all soft microfiber types as they don't do as good a job from my experience, will require more passes as compared to these towels and they need to be extra soft for those reasons. I get what you are saying and it absolutely makes sense when it is not your vehicles you are washing. Having said that, the clearcoats and paint on my vehicles are prestine to this day having used these synthetic absorber towels. Thanks for the reply and best wishes. 🤙🏽 Edit: Also, yes, using my electric leaf blower is a game changer. I have been using it in conjunction to my towels to remove the bulk of the water along with hard to reach trapped water and it makes a huge difference indeed!

Pan, Do you have a video for the proper method of washing & drying towels? I feel like regardless what I do they eventually lint. Mixing different styles and new and old towels definitely ruins the new towels.
Yes I have a tutorial for that here: th-cam.com/video/t_ryfGlkE9I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iR8X_FDrFOSSzWoY And here's my favourite microfiber detergent: amzn.to/3RbtoEu
Great review Pan. I have both the Gauntlet and the Sucker, with the Gauntlet being my favorite of the two. Both are excellent towels but the Gauntlet is a little softer and nicer to work with.
Do to the disparity in size of the various towels, I was afraid they weren't getting a fair shake in the price comparison, so I calculated the price per sq ft of the larger sizes. The Liquidator was the lowest at $3.84 per square ft with the Gauntlet very close behind at $ 4. Next was Griots Wooly at $4.80, followed by the Sucker at $5.14 and the most expensive PFM at $6.21 per Sq ft.
Prices fluctuate over time, certainly since this video was produced. But regardless, it was always clear that the Liquid8r was the best value for money and a clear winner in performance too (with the likes of the Gauntlet, my personal favourite).

@@rossparker5158 I haven't tried their towel unfortunately. Thanks for the kind words about my videos Ross!
GYEON Quartz are really good.
I had the Gyeon in my previous test here: th-cam.com/video/079H_dpxlUo/w-d-xo.html
And they sometimes drag across the ground😫
I agree. I’ve found myself folding the towel in half or quarters when I do the side of vehicle anyways
Thanks for sharing your experience Adam!
Thanks for sharing your experience Tom!
Can vouch for the Gauntlet. It's not the highest GSM but the hybrid-weave pattern makes it better and more efficient at absorbing water.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Gauntlet is what I currently use. Another one I recently heard about from another detailer is Klin Microfiber. Haven’t purchased any yet though.
Also the plush towels doesnt hold up as well. After a few washed the fibers often start sticking together.
You have a great selection of towels there! :)

You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
Boss move on the downgrading 😂😂
That’s one of my biggest things is linting and I have some CG brand new MF towels a d they lint out of the bag.
2 people recommended for a vehicle with that one lol
Same, I can dry an entire mid-sized SUV with the 1500 without any water streaking at all. I also have the Gauntlets and the 1500 is the go to for me.
Luxury microfiber is the towels are the towels that I love using as well as the sucker jr and the sucker lite
So thankful for Pan and his channel!
Thanks Rob, I appreciate it!
I use a brand called Dreadnought and never looked back, probably the best drying towel I’ve used for vehicles
Thanks Lisa!
They are great towels no doubt!
For years, my favorite drying towel was the Griot's PFM. It is only recently that it was finally bested in my personal collection by the Luxury Microfiber Sucker. That's my new favorite, but in my experience, those are the best 2 on the market.
They are both top notch performers for sure! 👍🏻
Nice video, a tip, i spray 6-8 sprays of quick detailer on the towel to add extra gloss and it works amazing for no extra work
Thanks Dan!
I’ve been using the liquid8r and of all the towels I’ve tried, it has the best absorption in my experience! Not the softest/plushiest feeling towel, but still super high quality as usual from TRC! Thanks for sharing, Pan!
Thanks Jeff!
I didnt like it the texture was not plush or soft rather hard and rough. Get the gauntlet u wont regret it.
I had the same problem but I love them I can dry my tundra with 1 towel
I‘ve had the rag company double twistress for about a year and a half after watching your first of these videos and I love those still as my drying aid towels. I have a liquid8r now that I use for drying without adding protection. I love the hemmed edge on the liquid8r for getting into trim and mirrors where water likes to hide. I’m my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a rag company product!
Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@chrisryan8894 plushness would probably be the gauntlet. The liquid8r is basically a much thicker and longer pile twistress
I have found the best value with the Gauntlet towels. I have a few of the smaller sizes and one of the larger sizes.
just bought a liquid8tr after learning the hard way. Purchased a 32 pack of chemical bros towels and they transfer so much lint...lesson learned
Yeah, stick with The Rag Company microfiber towels, so much better! Here are their towels: amzn.to/3QTMUoD
I made a video about which towels are best for different uses here: th-cam.com/video/VOCy2l8bdm4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=r1bCf6Fgx5PkLiVK
Also, always make sure you wash your new towels before their first use.
THE BEST drying towel I've ever used is from Agualux detail supply. The Slurpy is hands down the best. Also comes in many sizes.
I have never heard of them. Is that an American company?
T and T Auto Detailing thank you 🙏
I really appreciate this video Pan and all of these towels are light years ahead of a chamois.
Thanks for sharing Neil! And yes you are right about washing the towels after use. I always wash all my towels after each day of use.
Ive been using Adam's Jumbo Plush Drying towel. Best I have ever used. One towel is enough to dry an entire 2500 crew cab truck.
Key point … grab a twisted loop microfiber towel for drying and consider cost!
Pan, I have been using the Rag Company's Gauntlet Towel (15"x24") to dry my vehicles and it has worked wonderfully. They have held up for 15 months and going strong.
😁💪🏻👍🏻
Those are the best in my opinion. I have several and have used them for years. Enjoy.
I use the rag company gauntlet after a quick blow dry. Love the results. Thanks again for your very informative videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
I’ve had Luxury Microfiber Sucker for about 18 months. Great towel and still dries just as well as the first time I used it. I’ve also had the PFM and seems that after about a year it’s not as effective at drying as it once was.
Yeah the Sucker is a great towel for sure! Good pick!
The Double Twistress was in my previous test here: th-cam.com/video/079H_dpxlUo/w-d-xo.html
And yes that's a great drying towel too.
Thanks for sharing your experience Scott!
The luxury microfiber, the sucker is my favorite.

Thanks for the feedback! 👍🏻
The Rag Company 1500.
Hands down best towel ive ever used. Klin, AF, Detail Popo, whoever, no one can compete
I haven't tried those yet. Which one is you number one top pick? Brand and exact model of towel?
For me I been using Griots PFM Drying Towels for nearly 10 years. I chose the 16 x 16 size, since it is easy to manuver around.
Great video as always
Thanks for sharing
I agree with you the 16x16 two pk is the way to go you can dry a small with one towel or a bigger car or truck with 2 towels they hold a ton of water and last forever if you look after them. Im pretty sure the pfm come in 3 sizes . Enjoy your towels I find them to be the best. 👌🏻🇨🇦oh and they go on sale all the time through out the year.
I have two of these in 20in x 30in and been using it for at least a year now, still works great to this day. (The Rag Company Gauntlet)
I have the 16 x 16 Liquid8r. I can dry the entire car and not wring it out. It is easy on the car paint and nice in the hand
Thanks for sharing!
Great video Pan as usual. I was supprised that the Autofiber Dreadnought wasn't tested. I prefer it in the Jr. size but that is just my preference. Keep up the great work
I haven’t had the chance to test the Autofiber towel yet. But a few viewers have spoken about it so perhaps in a future comparison! 😁
Rag Company has a great product at a good price. You can't go wrong with them, they have any microfiber towels you could possibly want.
And they're a great family operated business!
i agree with your number one pick, the Liquid8r is my go to drying towel, even after buying the nicer feeling Gauntlet.

Thanks for the feedback!
Hi pan I saw your interview the other day with hawk detailing at sema. It was very good. Nice to see a personal side to your business
Thanks I appreciate it! SEMA was so much fun!
PFM also has a 2 pack of 16x16 for $20 usd. They are great for touchups or small areas. TRC Double twistress 20x24 also has a 2pk for $28usd.
Thanks!
Enjoy the Liquid8r!! :)
Ceramic sealant and a leaf blower does the job for me 🤣🤣🤣, thank you for sharing Though Pan!!
I also use a blower to dry my car (I have three blowers haha!). But not everyone has the budget for one, so finding the best drying towel makes sense.
@@PanTheOrganizer that’s also very true, before I had my blower I did use rag company towels! Worked fantastic and still does !
I have been using the Pluffle towel for many years, which is a very soft plush waffle weave. I may try the Gauntlet next time. I’m not a fan of twist loop, as they are not nearly as soft. Nice video Pan!
Thanks Steve!
I've said it in a Pan video before and ill say it again, I've never tried all of these towels but I do have 2 of the gauntlet towels and I swear by them. They are amazing and it blows my mind how much water they can hold. I recommend the gauntlet towels greatly
They are exceptional indeed!
I have used both the Gauntlet and The Rag Company’s Twist N’ Shout drying towels on my cars. In my experience, the Twist N’ Shout drys much better than the Gauntlet. The Twist N’ Shout by TRG is my go to towel.
Thanks for sharing!
Liquid Elements drying towels are the way to go. Best performance and lowest price on top
I have the chemical guys one from when I first started learning how to detail and it did the job. I've had it for about 8 months so it has lasted with out any breakdown. But I have been looking at getting something that does streak as much and absorbs more. This video helped a lot. Thanks Pan!
I'm glad my videos can help you make a good pick for future purchases. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing your experience Jeff!
I love the sucker from luxury microfiber! It does my whole mustang without leaving water behind or streaks
Yeah it's pretty good!
Thanks George!
Yeah it's typical of twist loop towels if a fiber gets caught on sharp edges, but you simply cut it off and you can continue as you noticed. :)
DI water is sooooo good for washing cars! :)
I've used the Towels from Griot's and the Rag Company and prefer the one from Griot's. Chemical Guys love putting tags on all of their rags/towels.
You can't go wrong with either of those picks in my books.
Twist loop are the best. We use Gyeon silk dryer and it’s amazing! Huge towel as well !
I had the Gyeon Silk Dryer in my previous drying towels comparison video here: th-cam.com/video/079H_dpxlUo/w-d-xo.html
Thank you.
Thanks Kim! :)
I use a Detail Popo Twisted Rain, which looks to be the same as the Liquid8r. The Detail Popo however, gives you a lot more material for the money.
Agree with you great towel👌🏻
I have the Liquid8r 16x16 size and love it a lot, just ordered the Dreadnought my autofiber today..looking forward to a personal comparison.
Just used the liquid8r and gotta say it left my cars full of lint even with the fact that I washed it by itself before I used it. I guess I’ll just stick with good old double twistress drying towels 70/30 blend.
Hunh? That’s weird. Did you wash your towel before its first use?
G'day Pan, I have the original Rag Company Gauntlet in 2 sizes 24x15 and 12x12, I have 2 towels of each size. The 24x15 is easy manageable for me and the 12x12 is great for door handles, door jams and the various channels to get in and dry them. Great test.
G'day Ozzcaddy! Hope you are doing well mate!

Many people seem to like the Klin. I never used their towels so I’ll have to see how I can order some in Canada.
I love the gauntlet!! Thanks for your suggestions. Keep it tight!!
Thanks!!
My friend who owns a detailing business gave me a drying towel and it's my favorite, I'm not sure what towel it is. I'm probably going to purchase the rag company gauntlet soon.
Great review as always.
I've used the Gauntlet since I was able to get it on my island.
I really like it and recommend it.
Glad you enjoy it!
Did the Rag company double the price of the 16x16 Liquid8r after winning first place?
Chemical guys towel while not my favorite I've seen absorbs better once it gets damp. I've seen the same streaking on my Adams graphene ceramic coated vehicle but I've found if I lightly mist the towel as well as the paint with Adams graphene detail spray then there isn't any streaking issues. While I havent tested other detail sprays/drying aids if you use them often you might not see a difference between the chemical guys towel and the others.
I had a Chemical guys towel did not like it so i sent it back and bought more of another one i bought from Fox Clean Premium Detailing. Great drying towel.

Hi Pan, you talk about versatility, then why don’t you test their durability? Do they still perform as well as new after several washes of the towel?
I have both the Gauntlet and Liquid8r. To me it’s a tie. Both great drying towels.
Yup
You did this last year or something similar, but I tried the The Rag Company Liquid8r and haven't been disappointed one bit. I could wash 2+ cars and use just that 1 towel to try off all the water. While the other microfiber drying towels I've had only disappointed me (chemical guys).
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thanks for sharing your personal experience with the towels Juan!
Filly respect your findings. I prefer the gauntlet to the Liquid8r... softer and less likely to mar the paint if you're a bit too aggressive.
Thanks John!
I tried almost most towels
For me two towels are champions
1.MF Madness Dry me crazy
2.Rag Gauntlet
Saving time and sucking gallons of water easy
I love the liquid8r. I have a few of them and I use them to dry my cars after wash. I love the value so I'm happy it won.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Adams Jumbo and THE RAG COMPANY Gauntlet are my choice and used. Thanks for your video Pan.

I purchased the Rag Company Liquid8r as per your recommendation, excited to try to this out for residual water spots after using the leaf blower lol.

I’ve been using the Wooly Mammoth and it’s okay. I recently bought the Liquid8or and look forward to using it.
Good pick with the Liquid8r
I had the same results with my rag company gauntlet and the chemical guys wooly mammoth. I prefer using the gauntlet over the wooly mammoth. 😊
👍🏻
Edit: Also, yes, using my electric leaf blower is a game changer. I have been using it in conjunction to my towels to remove the bulk of the water along with hard to reach trapped water and it makes a huge difference indeed!
Thanks for sharing! How did you discover my channel by the way?

Gauntlet 30x36 is the best pool/beach towel ever!❤
You do great, honest reviews. Keep it up.
I appreciate that!
Pan,
Do you have a video for the proper method of washing & drying towels?
I feel like regardless what I do they eventually lint. Mixing different styles and new and old towels definitely ruins the new towels.
Yes I have a tutorial for that here: th-cam.com/video/t_ryfGlkE9I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iR8X_FDrFOSSzWoY
And here's my favourite microfiber detergent: amzn.to/3RbtoEu
@@PanTheOrganizer thank you
Great review Pan. I have both the Gauntlet and the Sucker, with the Gauntlet being my favorite of the two. Both are excellent towels but the Gauntlet is a little softer and nicer to work with.
Thanks Archie!
