Really great travelogue! We call Venice home! Love it so much and not everyone is really old!! You MUST go back to North Jetty and watch the Sunset! It will bring you to tears! So amazing! Loved your video, great job!

I transferred to Florida for work in Oct. My daughter and grandsons came out to visit. Of all the things we did the week they were here, including two days at Universal Studios, the highlight of the trip for my grandsons (aged 5 and 8) was shark tooth hunting at Casperson. Within an hour we found 4, with two being at least an inch long and in really good condition. My son-in-law enjoyed fishing from the pier while my daughter and I had adult beverages at Sharky's.
That would be such a fun activity for kids. I know that my nieces and nephews could spend the entire day searching for them, and we would gladly spend an entire day just relaxing on that beautiful beach or at Sharky's! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment, Ralph!
5 years ago I looked over Venice. I wanted to move there for retirement. Unfortunately I’m still living up north. Late March and its still in the upper 20s here.🙁
It's never too late to do what you wish you would have 5 years ago! 20s in March is way too cold. We usually get back up to our home towns in the midwest once or twice per winter, and each time it makes us more thankful for our beautiful winters here in Florida!
We loved the weekly video as ALWAYS! Thanks for sharing the fun fact. My husband and I enjoy our visits to Venice, we learned one thing about Sharkeys, get there as soon as they open lol. Enjoyed the segment from Fins as we haven’t eaten there….YET!
I forgot to ask, how long on average do the scooter batteries charge last?
Thanks so much for the continued support, Jennifer! Yeah, we knew that place was going to be busy, but were still a bit surprised by the amount of people. We were just thankful there was only two of us and we were able find a seat by the bar quickly!
That's so funny you ask because we literally answer that exact question in the video that we just filmed this last weekend! The answer is 15 miles per charge, although we've never actually tested them that far. We did go at least 10 miles (probably closer to 12) last weekend and they did not run out though, so we were pretty happy with that. The video from last weekend will hopefully be posted this coming Saturday, and we hope you'll like it!

@@Explorcation you need to spend more time there and the great shops and restaurants. Get some Gelato. Then head south to Englewood and then a little more south to Boca Grande. You’ll love that beach.

I was telling some new friends who are heading there next week how much we enjoyed it. On our visit there was a huge festival downtown with rocking music and plenty of dancing in the street. Considering most everyone was 10+ years our senior it was pretty darn impressive.
I believe it! We hope we are as active and healthy as the majority of older people we saw in Venice when we get that age. Quite impressive indeed!

It really was amazing. We aren't blessed with a lot of good Indian Restaurants in our region, so we are always so happy when we find a good one! If you haven't tried that Malai Kofta dish, we'd definitely recommend it. It was sooo good!
Wow, Venice looks very pretty! So many beautiful beaches to choose from. Also, we love taking scooters too! They save so much hassle with parking and they are always super cheap. Also, I love that there is golf cart parking at the beach. That is so Florida 😂
Yeah electric scooters are the best! The golf cart parking at the beach was pretty funny. We would definitely own one if we lived in Venice (or any other Florida city where they are road legal).

We've really been lucking out with our beach days the last few weekends. The water and the sky has been gorgeous, especially in the morning hours. We've been having pretty good luck with sunsets too, and we agree that Caspersen Beach is a perfect place for sunset. Every time someone mentions that Indian food it makes us want to go back. We so wish we could get amazing Indian food like that closer to home!
I had no idea that there is a Venice Beach in Florida too (only knew the one in LA!) Love the artsy spirit there! Love the beach vibes! Love the sandy beach and the sunset is looking amazing. 😍 perfect way to end the perfect day, love Indian food!
Yeah anyone outside of Florida likely thinks of California when they hear "Venice Beach". We've been to both and can say they are pretty much polar opposites. We enjoyed them both, but always prefer the warmer Florida waters!

North Jetty beach has been getting a lot of dolphin activity lately. Plus a cool video of someone with a go pro and an 8ft shark right by the north jetty.

We were just talking about it the other day that our scooters were probably the best purchase we've made over the last couple of years. They are almost a necessity for us when traveling to the beaches anymore. And we agree the move was a good life choice. We haven't regretted it once!

You guys are just too cute! Thanks to your channel (and thanks to Skylar/er? for introducing Jamie to the beaches) we were able to discover the existence of Anna Maria Island and plan our beach day! We even signed up for a family run beach concierge service on AMI. I am so excited to see the gorgeous waters! Even though I wont get to head to Venice this time around, I watch all your videos to think of new ideas for a trip later on specifically to go to beaches! :) Thanks again, you two!
I (Jamie) actually made it to Florida a few years before Skylar, but I never actually considered moving there until he brought up the idea. I think he was a bit surprised when I was actually receptive to the idea! Five months later we had sold our house (and 90% of our belongings), quit our jobs, and moved into a hotel Sarasota. Sounds pretty crazy in retrospect, but was one of the best decisions we've ever made!

Great video. Have spent a month and a half in Venice, total, and wanted to check out Tikka. Next visit! The sweet brown dipping sauce might have been a tamarind one. Love Indian food and will be living in Venice next year!

Thanks so much, Gicela. We actually own the scooters and we love them. They fold up really compact so we can easily take them with us in our vehicle whenever we travel.
No water packed? That sounds like a Live Life With a View kind of move. Lol. Such a beautiful town and the over 70 crowd is actually very appealing.
😂 Isn't that the truth!! We certainly see the appeal of the over 70 crowd as well. It literally felt like the safest downtown of any city we've been in in our life!
Are those scooters quite a popular way to get around where you live? They do seem very convenient! I never really seem people on them around here. Great video, it's always fun vicariously beach hopping with you guys 😀
They are getting to be more popular in some towns. We were actually the only people on scooters that we saw in Venice. But in St Pete where we live you can rent them from little kiosks all around town, so you literally see them everywhere!
A video on how you travel from place to place would be great! Do you use escooters or ebikes? Which one's are the best and what are the laws and best practices in Tampa/St. Pete and surrounding areas? Thank you all the amazing content! Can't wait to visit myself :)
Thanks for the kind comment, Avi! We both have foldable e-scooters. The model we have is known as the Glion Dolly. I don't believe they make this model anymore, but they have a newer model that folds up and rolls like a suitcase just like ours does. They easily fit in the trunk of a car and can be rolled into restaurants if you don't want to lock them up outside. You can even take them on public transportation. We love them.
Ok so this is my place. I am so ready for retirement and a retirement community 🤣 The sand at the beach looked really nice to me, but we don't have ocean beaches where I am. At first I thought your scooters really were going that fast 🤦♀️ Casperson Beach seemed so nice. The walrus teeth 🤣🤣
Yeah we had a feeling we were going to really like Venice, and it did not disappoint, especially Casperson Beach. Yeah, we always speed up our scooter footage b/c it would be pretty boring otherwise (they only go like 15 mph). Thank god they don't go as fast as it appears in the video, as 15 on those little tires is scary enough 😆

Thanks so much, Dave. Our scooters are Glion Dolly 225's and we absolutely love them. I don't believe that Glion makes this model anymore, but they do have a new model that also folds up and can be pulled like a suitcase. I think they might have a patent on the (suitcase like) feature, because I have not seen any other scooter brands offering it.
Oldest beach town, as in age 😂I guess people over 60 spring break too! haha
That water on the beaches looks incredible - we may have to make this a stop on our next FL road trip (and hopefully when the weather is more like this too 🤣)
Yeah, we thought it was important to clarify that right off the bat😂! I think the people who live in Venice FL are basically on permanent spring break. Venice would be a great spot to visit on your next FL roadtrip, and with any luck at all your weather will be much more like what we had for this video!

In Clearwater Beach we really enjoy Frenchy's Rockaway Grill and Palm Pavilion. We've also heard really good things about Clearsky Cafe!
See...that's a nice beach. I'm thinking about moving to Sarasota. But my experience and love is Hawaii. Those white crystal beaches just look fake and boring to me. Guess I'll find out when I visit soon!
Some of the beaches around here are fake... they haul in the sand from miles away, or pump it in from out in the gulf. But many others are 100% natural (although many natural ones are still groomed for that almost too pristine look). The good thing about our area is that there are a good variety of beaches. Some have more of a natural secluded feel, while others are highly manicured and very touristy. Which is better is a matter of personal taste, but I'm sure you'll be able to find some that you enjoy here in Florida, although none of them are going to make you feel like you're in Hawaii (no mountains or even hills to speak of here).
