I have spent years coming down to the area from Canada but staying mostly in Treasure Island. We are leaving tomorrow for a week-long vacation in St. Petes Beach at BlueGreen at Tradewinds. We will try to hit some of the spots you have pointed out. We have been to the Don Cesar for Sunday Brunch.
You really can't go wrong with Treasure Island or St. Pete Beach. The BlueGreen and Tradewinds is in a fantastic location with so much to do and on a beautiful stretch of beach. We hope our video helps you to make the most of your vacation here!
We definitely understand why. It's just an entirely different atmosphere than the rest of St. Pete Beach and still has so much of that old Florida charm!
Wow you guys really did a thorough guide here!! The Sunday Market looked like a happening place. So many incredible beaches to choose from. Always a fan of budget friendly dining options, and that liquor store with more was pretty cool. Can't wait to get there one day and follow your guide.
@@Explorcation yea, we stayed 3/4 mile south of pipos, in that stretch that only has water behind it and it was pretty peaceful. Food was also great down there
All around great video! I love brunch so I'm definitely adding the brunch spot to my list of places to eat. I like that you guys show us a variety of places to visit and take people's budgets into account. Eating at the Don Cesar and Spinners would be a nice treat (margaritas are my drink of choice so I would go to Spinner's for the margarita alone!) but it's not something I personally would be able to do all the time (goals, though!). I started watching this on a super dreary day so I'm totally living vicariously through you guys being out in the sun. I don't get out much in the winter time here. I feel like I would be a lot more active if I lived in sunny, beautiful St. Pete. I would also never run out of things to do! I loved this video!

Spinner's is awesome! Haven't been in a while but can't beat the food or views- especially if celebrating a special day. Next time in St Pete, def want to find Upham Beach. We also sued to go to Sea Critters for dinner I think near or in Pass-A-Grille - even boats would pull up and folks would come in to get food and drinks. It was always a great time.

The Frog Pond food is awesome ! Always the benedict with the best bacon ever !!! ANd yes, first stop Publix, liqour store and Willaim Dean's for a few cartons of gelatto and candy to bring to the condo rental !!! Toasted coconut and mango !! OMG !

I used to love coming here. I stayed at the TradeWinds a few times, before that at Alden. I guess Alden is now part of TradeWinds. I have to come back and see the changes. The Frog Pond is amazing, been there a few times too.

We were at St. Beach in October of 2021. We had a blast and used your video for help. We didn't have a good experience at that revolving rooftop restaurant. But still a wonderful vacation and we'll be back!

That's so great to hear. We love Treasure Island! We've learned that the Sunrunner is a pretty divisive topic here in St. Pete. But we've had great experiences with it so far, and it's always nice to hear when others have as well!

Thank you! We spent three days making this one, so we're glad to here that the extra work shows. We will say that you get more for your money in Punta Cana than you do in St. Pete, but getting to St Pete is a lot easier and cheaper for most!
We come to St Pete beach and stay at the Bellwether formerly Grand Plaza we love it there Some of our fav places to eat are Gigi's,Mad Fish and Shells.
We would love to stay at the Bellwether someday. It's such a beautiful property. We've always heard great things about Shells and have been talking about visiting for what seems like years now. One of these days, we'll finally make it happen!

After going to siesta key for the last few years we decided to try Ana Maria Island this February. Saint Pete beach is not too far and after seeing this video we’re definitely going to take a day or two out of our trip to check it out. I just love all of your videos. Thanks for sharing

Wow, that was an action packed video! I want to check it all out! La Croisette was a great breakfast spot too. The brunch, cheap drinks, secret garden, and rooftop bars look great! We’ll have to check it out on on next trip down there. There was a Thai place close to that liquor store that was really tasty and well priced too.
We've heard so many good things about La Croisette, and it really was a toss-up on which one we were gonna visit between that and Frog Pond. Oh wow, great video! Dreaming of being at any of these beach locations! We do love to splurge at least once at a "fancy" restaurant while we are on vacation. I think the Don Cesar is definitely on our bucket list for places to visit...but any of these restaurants look great. We stayed at the Sirata years ago...I think we are due for another visit to the area soon 🙂
The Sirata is such a nice hotel and great location, and we agree that you are definitely due for a return visit! When you are traveling as much as we are you have to stick to the budget spots more often than not, but every once in a while it sure is nice to enjoy a fancy restaurant!
We LOVE St. Pete Beach! We stayed at the Bellwether Beach Resort and highly recommend the place. Spinners was great (the hotel on top of the Bellwether). Next time I think we're going to give the Don Cesar a try while we look for the perfect vacation home.
It sure is an easy place to love, Steven! We would gladly stay at either the Don Cesar or Bellwether. We've heard nothing but rave reviews for each and both properties are beautiful, although in very different ways.
While we now live on the east coast of Florida near St Augustine we used to call St Pete home. In fact, 38 years ago we were engaged at what used to be the rotating Hilton (Spinners) and had our wedding reception at the Dolphin. Additionally, back in 1985 we caught Tom Petty playing from the rooftop of The Don while enjoying a sunny Sunday beach day. I’d love to go back and actually STAY overnight at the Don Cesar. And yes, one of our 2 favorite Pinellas County beaches are Pass-A-Grill and Upham. Your great video was beautifully nostalgic and makes me want to plan a visit!
Wow, you sure to have some great memories from back in the day! We're well aware of the Tom Petty rooftop video shoot, but have never actually talked to anyone who witnessed it first hand. That's pretty amazing. We would love to eventually actually stay at the Don too.... hopefully one of these years!

Honestly we'd probably recommend staying somewhere in between the two. Both downtown and the beaches can get pretty pricey, but you can find some really affordable stays in between. We'd recommend checking AirBNB's that are close to the Sunrunner Trolley Route (1st Avenue N. and 1st Avenue S.) This way, you'll have easy and very inexpensive access to both the beaches and downtown. We hope this helps!

Hi, thanks so much for watching :) there are so many options on St Pete Beach, it totally depends on your budget and what type of experience you are looking for. If you've got a generous budget there are spots like Bellwether and the Don Cesar. If you are looking for an older resort experience then there are options like the Bon-Aire Resort. Also there are a variety of rentals to choose from though Resort Rentals!
Sending my wife and daughter down for a mother daughter weekend. She was thinking about renting a car, but I was thinking your video shows the Sun Runner and that might be more convenient (and cheaper😂). It looks like there are lots of budget friendly and nicer dining options. Does the trolleys or sun runner go to those areas? They should be down there on Thursday!!
Between the Sunrunner, the Free Beach Ride, and the Freebie, there are plenty of options to get around the island without renting a car. It will likely save quite a bit of money over renting a car and you also don't have to worry about parking. We hope your wife and daughter have a great time!
It was kinda surreal to see you guys go to so many of the same places we love in St Pete Beach, both the well-known landmarks and the local haunts. Glad you guys found Willy's (how is that cheap?!), Larry's (just the best - end of) and Frog Pond. La Croisette across the street is also a great breakfast if you haven't been already. I really want to check out the 11th Floor on my next visit (we have a condo on Blind Pass Road). I'd also recommend Sea Hags for their happy hour, and strolling from the beach at Caddy's into John's Pass Village after sunset - though that is a bit of a walk! Love the channel :)
We were really torn on whether we should visit La Croisette or Frog Pond in the video. We have yet to visit La Croisette, but have always heard great things about it! We hope you get a chance to check out the 11th floor soon. We've been wanting to make it back there for the late night happy hour. Maybe you'll see us up there!

Thanks so much! We're glad to hear you enjoy the videos. We never notice the red tide where we live in St. Pete, but we are a few miles from the beach and a mile or so from the bay. We definitely have been bothered by the red tide when we've gone to the beach though. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. We do swim at the beach, but not usually between November and April (too cold).

Thank you 💕 You will be right off of the Pinellas Trail! We'd recommend riding the trail for something active. You will be close to Harbor Master for a Tiki Bar experience. If you head out to Madeira Beach (which will be the closest beach to where you are staying) we recommend... Saltwater Hippie for live music, Dockside Dave's for a meal and the rooftop bar at Cambria for drinks at sunset.
@@theterrytrailertrash YW! Hmm i know there are good spots, but we haven't explored many in this area. All of our kayak/paddling spots are further south in the Sarasota area. We would suggest researching paddling from the Dunedin Causeway to Caladesi Island.
You have to check out William Dean's chocolates in Belleair Bluffs! They were in the movie The Hunger Games. Pricey but sooo good ! I want to come to ALL the markets. I miss that Old Florida vibe ! Of course I lived on Madeira Beach when there were just a few mom and pop hotels on the beach and none of the large condos . The sunset ! OMG !!! You guys are killing me !! Digging out in Buffalo !

Both Sea Salt and Trophy Fish in St. Pete are know to be really good, and I believe both have Stone Crab! There's also a place called Billy's Stone Crab in Tierra Verde (very close to St. Pete Beach) that we've heard good things about. I think PJ's on St. Pete Beach may have them as well!
We had planned on going to Spinners last year but upon viewing the menu prices online we altered our plans. Mainly because we'd already stopped by a higher end establishment the night before. That view looks spectacular though so we'll definitely have to see about getting there this year or next.
That's totally understandable. We normally would not eat had more than one higher end restaurant on one vacation either. That being said, the food was good, and we think the view makes it all worth it, especially if you book your dinner during sunset!
Love your videos since I love Florida. I would rather see more scenes from the beaches or other places to visit around the beaches rather than restaurants. I feel like people in general eat way too much and when I go on vacation, I go for the beautiful beaches and sightseeing, and not for the restaurants. A lot of times we will stay in a VRBO and that way I can make most of my meals. Since most of the restaurants have such high calorie unhealthy foods.
In 2023 we parked our car close to a SunRunner's stop , rode the SunRunner to St Pete Beach stay there and later walked to Pass-a-grill to watch the sunset after that we took the Freebee to get the SunRunner again back our car. All of that was free. We had a drink and a meal at Pass-a-grill. This year we are planning on doing the same, only that we'll pay the SunRunner.

I have spent years coming down to the area from Canada but staying mostly in Treasure Island. We are leaving tomorrow for a week-long vacation in St. Petes Beach at BlueGreen at Tradewinds. We will try to hit some of the spots you have pointed out. We have been to the Don Cesar for Sunday Brunch.
You really can't go wrong with Treasure Island or St. Pete Beach. The BlueGreen and Tradewinds is in a fantastic location with so much to do and on a beautiful stretch of beach. We hope our video helps you to make the most of your vacation here!

Pipo and Betty's is great! We love IRB too. It's probably the most reasonably priced beach down around hear and the beaches are amazing.

All around great video! I love brunch so I'm definitely adding the brunch spot to my list of places to eat. I like that you guys show us a variety of places to visit and take people's budgets into account. Eating at the Don Cesar and Spinners would be a nice treat (margaritas are my drink of choice so I would go to Spinner's for the margarita alone!) but it's not something I personally would be able to do all the time (goals, though!). I started watching this on a super dreary day so I'm totally living vicariously through you guys being out in the sun. I don't get out much in the winter time here. I feel like I would be a lot more active if I lived in sunny, beautiful St. Pete. I would also never run out of things to do! I loved this video!

Spinner's is awesome! Haven't been in a while but can't beat the food or views- especially if celebrating a special day. Next time in St Pete, def want to find Upham Beach. We also sued to go to Sea Critters for dinner I think near or in Pass-A-Grille - even boats would pull up and folks would come in to get food and drinks. It was always a great time.
We agree... pretty much the prefect place to celebrate a special occasion. Great food and drinks and even better views! Upham Beach is definitely one our of favorites, and we hope you get a chance to visit it soon!

I used to love coming here. I stayed at the TradeWinds a few times, before that at Alden. I guess Alden is now part of TradeWinds. I have to come back and see the changes. The Frog Pond is amazing, been there a few times too.

Just as I thought watching your Punta Cana video, you make me want to spend my 25th anniversary in one of these fine hotels. But my budget is more like yours, few and far in between. Definitely one of your best videos!
Thank you! We spent three days making this one, so we're glad to here that the extra work shows. We will say that you get more for your money in Punta Cana than you do in St. Pete, but getting to St Pete is a lot easier and cheaper for most!
We come to St Pete beach and stay at the Bellwether formerly Grand Plaza we love it there Some of our fav places to eat are Gigi's,Mad Fish and Shells.
We would love to stay at the Bellwether someday. It's such a beautiful property. We've always heard great things about Shells and have been talking about visiting for what seems like years now. One of these days, we'll finally make it happen!
The Florida Gulf beaches are very special. On our visit to Sarasota last month, we made it up to Fort Desoto Park, but have not yet been to St Petersburg. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.

After going to siesta key for the last few years we decided to try Ana Maria Island this February. Saint Pete beach is not too far and after seeing this video we’re definitely going to take a day or two out of our trip to check it out. I just love all of your videos. Thanks for sharing

Wow, that was an action packed video! I want to check it all out! La Croisette was a great breakfast spot too. The brunch, cheap drinks, secret garden, and rooftop bars look great! We’ll have to check it out on on next trip down there. There was a Thai place close to that liquor store that was really tasty and well priced too.
We've heard so many good things about La Croisette, and it really was a toss-up on which one we were gonna visit between that and Frog Pond. Oh wow, great video! Dreaming of being at any of these beach locations! We do love to splurge at least once at a "fancy" restaurant while we are on vacation. I think the Don Cesar is definitely on our bucket list for places to visit...but any of these restaurants look great. We stayed at the Sirata years ago...I think we are due for another visit to the area soon 🙂
The Sirata is such a nice hotel and great location, and we agree that you are definitely due for a return visit! When you are traveling as much as we are you have to stick to the budget spots more often than not, but every once in a while it sure is nice to enjoy a fancy restaurant!
We LOVE St. Pete Beach! We stayed at the Bellwether Beach Resort and highly recommend the place. Spinners was great (the hotel on top of the Bellwether). Next time I think we're going to give the Don Cesar a try while we look for the perfect vacation home.
It sure is an easy place to love, Steven! We would gladly stay at either the Don Cesar or Bellwether. We've heard nothing but rave reviews for each and both properties are beautiful, although in very different ways.

While we now live on the east coast of Florida near St Augustine we used to call St Pete home. In fact, 38 years ago we were engaged at what used to be the rotating Hilton (Spinners) and had our wedding reception at the Dolphin. Additionally, back in 1985 we caught Tom Petty playing from the rooftop of The Don while enjoying a sunny Sunday beach day. I’d love to go back and actually STAY overnight at the Don Cesar. And yes, one of our 2 favorite Pinellas County beaches are Pass-A-Grill and Upham. Your great video was beautifully nostalgic and makes me want to plan a visit!
Wow, you sure to have some great memories from back in the day! We're well aware of the Tom Petty rooftop video shoot, but have never actually talked to anyone who witnessed it first hand. Thank you so much for these tips! My friend and I, both college students booked our flight for st Pete’s, would you recommend staying downtown or at the beaches? We are planning on renting an appartement as we are coming for the beaches but also city exploration and the warm weather
Honestly we'd probably recommend staying somewhere in between the two. Both downtown and the beaches can get pretty pricey, but you can find some really affordable stays in between. We'd recommend checking AirBNB's that are close to the Sunrunner Trolley Route (1st Avenue N. and 1st Avenue S.) This way, you'll have easy and very inexpensive access to both the beaches and downtown. We hope this helps!

Hi, thanks so much for watching :) there are so many options on St Pete Beach, it totally depends on your budget and what type of experience you are looking for. If you've got a generous budget there are spots like Bellwether and the Don Cesar. If you are looking for an older resort experience then there are options like the Bon-Aire Resort. Also there are a variety of rentals to choose from though Resort Rentals!

Sending my wife and daughter down for a mother daughter weekend. She was thinking about renting a car, but I was thinking your video shows the Sun Runner and that might be more convenient (and cheaper😂). It looks like there are lots of budget friendly and nicer dining options. Does the trolleys or sun runner go to those areas? They should be down there on Thursday!!
Between the Sunrunner, the Free Beach Ride, and the Freebie, there are plenty of options to get around the island without renting a car. It will likely save quite a bit of money over renting a car and you also don't have to worry about parking. We hope your wife and daughter have a great time!
It was kinda surreal to see you guys go to so many of the same places we love in St Pete Beach, both the well-known landmarks and the local haunts.
Glad you guys found Willy's (how is that cheap?!), Larry's (just the best - end of) and Frog Pond. La Croisette across the street is also a great breakfast if you haven't been already.
I really want to check out the 11th Floor on my next visit (we have a condo on Blind Pass Road). I'd also recommend Sea Hags for their happy hour, and strolling from the beach at Caddy's into John's Pass Village after sunset - though that is a bit of a walk!

I really love your videos, st Pete’s looks so fun and I’m ready to pack my bags and move! I’m wondering if you are ever bothered by the red tide? Do you guys swim at the beach?
Thanks so much! We're glad to hear you enjoy the videos. We never notice the red tide where we live in St. Pete, but we are a few miles from the beach and a mile or so from the bay. We definitely have been bothered by the red tide when we've gone to the beach though. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. We do swim at the beach, but not usually between November and April (too cold).
So sorry to hear this! Love your content! We will be staying at the St. Pete KOA for our spring break. We would love suggestions of recommendations of things to do and places to eat/consume adult beverages that are close by!
Thank you 💕 You will be right off of the Pinellas Trail! We'd recommend riding the trail for something active. You will be close to Harbor Master for a Tiki Bar experience. If you head out to Madeira Beach (which will be the closest beach to where you are staying) we recommend... Saltwater Hippie for live music, Dockside Dave's for a meal and the rooftop bar at Cambria for drinks at sunset.

You have to check out William Dean's chocolates in Belleair Bluffs! They were in the movie The Hunger Games. Pricey but sooo good ! I want to come to ALL the markets. I miss that Old Florida vibe ! Of course I lived on Madeira Beach when there were just a few mom and pop hotels on the beach and none of the large condos . The sunset ! OMG !!! You guys are killing me !! Digging out in Buffalo !

Hi, what are some good restaurants/spots that have stone crab claws in/around St Pete Beach?
Both Sea Salt and Trophy Fish in St. Pete are know to be really good, and I believe both have Stone Crab! There's also a place called Billy's Stone Crab in Tierra Verde (very close to St. Pete Beach) that we've heard good things about. I think PJ's on St. Pete Beach may have them as well!
We had planned on going to Spinners last year but upon viewing the menu prices online we altered our plans. Mainly because we'd already stopped by a higher end establishment the night before.
That view looks spectacular though so we'll definitely have to see about getting there this year or next.
That's totally understandable. We normally would not eat had more than one higher end restaurant on one vacation either. That being said, the food was good, and we think the view makes it all worth it, especially if you book your dinner during sunset!
Love your videos since I love Florida. I would rather see more scenes from the beaches or other places to visit around the beaches rather than restaurants. I feel like people in general eat way too much and when I go on vacation, I go for the beautiful beaches and sightseeing, and not for the restaurants. A lot of times we will stay in a VRBO and that way I can make most of my meals. Since most of the restaurants have such high calorie unhealthy foods.

In 2023 we parked our car close to a SunRunner's stop , rode the SunRunner to St Pete Beach stay there and later walked to Pass-a-grill to watch the sunset after that we took the Freebee to get the SunRunner again back our car. All of that was free. We had a drink and a meal at Pass-a-grill. This year we are planning on doing the same, only that we'll pay the SunRunner.
We're so happy to hear that you were able to utilize the different free/cheap transportation options! It really can help to make your vacation so much more enjoyable when you don't have to worry about driving or breaking your budget paying for Uber rides!

Are those electric scooters? How do you park those?
I am curious about your scooters. What type are they are where do you leave them when you are walking or dining?
Our scooters are Glion's. Sometimes we fold them up and bring them into establishments with us, and other times we will lock them up on a bike rack.
