Heading there on the 18th for vacation. I’ve been to Lido about 15 times but my wife has never been so I’m really looking forward to showing her what I call “Heaven on Earth”. Love your videos.
Great coverage of a beautiful place. The one time we went, our Sarasota friends drove us in their Tesla, and they knew about parking behind Columbia, where we had a delicious lunch. We can't wait to try out other restaurants. It was nice to actually see inside the restaurants and the hot sauce and clothing shops. Many others' videos stroll quickly around the circle and pan the camera away from the shop names so you never get to see what's there! Thanks for a beautiful day at St Armand's.

I lived in Florida for about one year. If you don't like to shop and eat out it's not for you! Back in Colorado happily! Best place for hiking and exploring. In my opinion!!! JS
No doubt that Colorado is WAY better for hiking than Florida, Joan. If not for the winters (we hate the cold), we could definitely enjoy living in Colorado. That said, we love Florida and never have any trouble finding things to do to stay active here. Did you ever try to get into swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding when you lived in Florida?
I cannot wait to visit! I moved to wa state a few yrs ago n only go back to Hawaii to visit my family every year. Excited to visit lido first trip to Florida! 😎🏝️
Very nice place to visit. Every time I came to visit I always enjoyed siesta key and lido beach florida. I also liked the downtown sarasota bay area. It's always nice when I visit.
As an Européen I always appreciated Armand circle, for the variation of the stores,the quality of the food, and the free parking on the weekend! It’s little more upscale atmosphere and the great mix of stores brings me back in my country. I particularly enjoy the stores that support artists with beautiful paintings or sculptures, I enjoy seeing restaurants with table cloths, and all kind of stores really… included the ones that are less pricey. The few times I visited it I enjoyed listening to some locals artists in the street. Watching the diverse statues, speaking to different vendors, eating delicious Italian food and some homemade hazelnut ice cream 🍦! I Thank you guys for the always great content of your videos I enjoy watching them very much as there is always something to take away.

Thank you for the video. Love this place. We have been going there for over 33 years(mostly staying at Suntide Island Beach Club right on the beach). My wife loves shopping at Alvin's Island. I love Cha Cha Coconuts, very affordable and tasty(they use the same kitchen as the upscale Columbia restaurant next door). It's fun to sit and people watch in the circle. The pubic part of the beach has food, a pool, lockers, showers, free parking and is never packed. Can't wait to get back!!!
Wow that's really interesting about ChaCha's sharing a kitchen with Columbian. We have eaten at both before and had no idea! We really do enjoy Lido over all, and while I (Skylar) am still not a huge fan of St. Armand's I will gladly visit Chacha Coconuts any day! We hope you guys can make it back down to visit soon!
We love the Mangroves on Lido as well. It was actually the first place we ever tried paddleboarding and we fell in love with it. Thanks so much for watching Lois!

😆 That makes sense you only made it to Siesta. Even though the Siesta and Lido are right next to each other on a map it isn't easy to get from one to the other. You have to go back to the mainland to access one from the other we find it is easy to enjoy a whole day at either location! Thanks for watching :)
We had a great visit there a few years ago. All day at the Sarasota Ren Fest, back to the beach hotel for sunset, hotel shuttle to the Circle for some great dinners, shopping, and live music. We are full day vacationers.
Bahhaha that napkin dispenser is 100% on point. That is A LOT of food for $11! Looks like theres lots of shopping that can be done, and you found some really great budget friendly clothing at Alvin's - thats where we would have ended up shopping as well haha. Speaks Clam Bar looks pretty cool and the food looks delicious. Oh man, Andy would love that hot sauce store. It's awesome you can sample them. You guys get caught in some wicked storms! Ahhh you're making us jealous with all the beautiful beach stops.
You changed my tune a bit too! I see they have a Columbia Restaurant there as well...one of our favorite Cuban food places in the Tampa/Clearwater areas.
Well we have landed in Sarasota last night, we've driven to St Armands Circle to Clam Bar....and have ordered... Lobster Bisque Bowl and the Chicken Panini because yours looked amazeballs. Thank you for the recommendation!

@@Explorcation It was fun , very windy , but we chked out most of the stores , and my sister went to the Fins resturant for the lobster soup. She said she thought that was where you guys got the soup. She really liked it , Then instead of going to Seista beach , we went to Lido . It was all good , just super windy day! I have been to all of these places , I Live here , but never Armands cr , only on a motorcycle , You mapped out our day for us , lol TY

Hi Michael. Finding reasonable prices in Sarasota (and especially St. Armand's) can certainly be a challenge, but we find that you can normally find deals even the most touristy of places if you look hard enough. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
I have seen some awesome photo's over the years of Florida colours on sunrise and sunset, but has to be the first time for video. I was amazing at how vibrant they were and so jealous not to be there with you! I hear you talking about the circle and see you walking around, but couldn't imagine the size until you showed the map. WOW - What a cool little way to bring all these businesses together for tourism...I love it. Hey Jamie - Also love the little dance introducing the sweet stores ...haha $5 cocktails....I'm in heavan. Never had a white sangria before - What was in it ? Not sure how many video I've seen of yours that have the storm rolling in so fast in Florida. Storms can be quick over here but normally they stay around for ages instead. The beaches still look pretty good though - nice white sandy beaches and beautiful clean water. That gopro stability is really good with Skyler running back in from the beach. Glad you got to go back after the rain and see that amazing sunset I'm with you on the Praline Icecream :)
Yes we got super lucky with that sunset. It was the best we've seen in a long time. I believe white sangria usually contains white wine, peach schnapps, club soda, and fruit. It was really refreshing and delicious, and definitely hard to beat for $5. Yeah, the gopro stability is really impressive in quick moving, unstable situations. We put it on our nephew's dirt bike this weekend and the footage looked amazing.
Another great vid, guys! We really gotta spend some more time exploring Florida - you guys have really showed so many awesome spots. That sky definitely looked angry haha but worth waiting it out for that sunset!
Yeah, we are convinced that it will take us at least a couple more years before we run out of places to explore in Florida. There really are so many great spots.
I have officially added St. Armands area to our plans when we're down that way the end of January...Cilantro Grill, Cha Cha Coconuts, the beaches and a final stop by the Columbia to finish the day is the gameplan.
@@Explorcation just bookmarked a place in the area called Tumeric Indian Bar and Grill that we may try and check out as well. I keep telling Terri that we're going to need more time off!!!!
@@Explorcation Well, we made it to Lido Beach...beautiful area! We had time to stop by Cha Cha Conconuts for a drink and appetizers then later we stopped at the Columbia for dinner. We'll have to stop back again in the future as it was a great area to explore and we just ran out of time!

Those wings looked amazing! That was a great way to escape the rain. I didn't realize the rainy season was so long there. It seems like a really nice area! You had the whole beach on the bay to yourself 👌 I'd definitely give that place a try. The sunset was amazing ❤
Yeah, Florida is basically a desert in the winter and a rain forest in the summer. It storms most days during the rainy season, but usually the storms move out quickly. Plus they often lead to great sunsets. We really love the summers here. But they are not for everyone.
A good lobster bisque is hard to pass up, love the dip into the soup! Solid way to wash down the hot sauce, we haven't had a bloody Mary in a while and miss it. Haha damn that was a quick downpour... but it beats the snow in our opinion!

After living here >50 yrs, it's hard to see anything beyond their intolerance for the Disabled, Mentally Ill & Homeless population here. Thanks so much guys. We got really lucky with that sunset, but whenever there's a storm right before sunset, there's always the potential of having a great one. Skylar's whole wardrobe consists of shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops if you have not already noticed 😅. But you really don't need much else in Florida.
We absolutely hated this area when we went a few years go. That includes the beach. Way too many cars, not enough parking, and too many people. Plus everything is overpriced. We drove through, went to the beach, then left the area after about half an hour because it was so congested and uncomfortable. We may try again if we go back to Sarasota, but I will only be going for sweets. lol
Skylar really had a negative impression of St. Armands prior to making this video. It's still not his favorite, but we did find some places that were reasonably priced that we really enjoyed, it just took a bit more effort than other places. Plus we'll always love kayaking through the mangroves off of south Lido!
Love shopping villages like this in the US they have everything you could possibly need in one place, and what beautiful beaches nearby too 😍 Those storm clouds were epic & what a stunning sunset at the end…those colours 😍😍 We love Florida & it’s sunsets. Great work trying those hot sauces. “That would match your dress…but no…sorry” haha made us laugh 😂
Haha that necklace was so huge and ridiculous, but it really would have matched her dress 😂. We really got lucky with that sunset. It made getting poured on earlier in the day seem 100% worth it.
Yes, there is definitely red tide at the moment. It's really bad in Tampa Bay right now, and is also getting bad on many of the gulf beaches. I would recommend checking out the website below, which does a great job of tracking it. Hopefully it will help you to find an enjoyable beach during your visit. Hi Tashia. It's hard to find anything that's very comparable to St. Armands, as it is such a unique place. I will say though that when we lived in Sarasota we really enjoyed visiting the outlet shops in Ellenton. Like St. Armands, it's an outdoor shopping experience with tons of shops to chose from but at much more affordable prices.
I really enjoy your booze and food tours and especially impressed by how fit you look after all those calories. I wish it was closer but we will visit as soon as possible. From Jacksonville, Florida

My wife loves visiting here. Our favorite place to eat is Columbia's. I think they have the best seafood in the world. Lol
The one time I ate there we made the mistake of not ordering seafood. Next time we will not make that mistake!

Jaime, for someone who is so tiny, you seem to really enjoy your sweets! I know all too well that delay burn from hot sauce. It really sneaks up on you! Loved the walk on the bay and that sunset was simply amazing. Storms really do bring the most beautiful sunsets!

I have seen some awesome photo's over the years of Florida colours on sunrise and sunset, but has to be the first time for video. I was amazing at how vibrant they were and so jealous not to be there with you!

Not sure how many video I've seen of yours that have the storm rolling in so fast in Florida. Storms can be quick over here but normally they stay around for ages instead. The beaches still look pretty good though - nice white sandy beaches and beautiful clean water. That gopro stability is really good with Skyler running back in from the beach. Glad you got to go back after the rain and see that amazing sunset

Yes we got super lucky with that sunset. It was the best we've seen in a long time. I believe white sangria usually contains white wine, peach schnapps, club soda, and fruit. It was really refreshing and delicious, and definitely hard to beat for $5. Yeah, the gopro stability is really impressive in quick moving, unstable situations. We put it on our nephew's dirt bike this weekend and the footage looked amazing.

Yeah, we are convinced that it will take us at least a couple more years before we run out of places to explore in Florida. There really are so many great spots.
I have officially added St. Armands area to our plans when we're down that way the end of January...Cilantro Grill, Cha Cha Coconuts, the beaches and a final stop by the Columbia to finish the day is the gameplan.

@@Explorcation Well, we made it to Lido Beach...beautiful area! We had time to stop by Cha Cha Conconuts for a drink and appetizers then later we stopped at the Columbia for dinner. We'll have to stop back again in the future as it was a great area to explore and we just ran out of time!

Those wings looked amazing! That was a great way to escape the rain. I didn't realize the rainy season was so long there. It seems like a really nice area! You had the whole beach on the bay to yourself 👌 I'd definitely give that place a try. The sunset was amazing ❤
Yeah, Florida is basically a desert in the winter and a rain forest in the summer. It storms most days during the rainy season, but usually the storms move out quickly. Plus they often lead to great sunsets. We really love the summers here. But they are not for everyone.
A good lobster bisque is hard to pass up, love the dip into the soup! Solid way to wash down the hot sauce, we haven't had a bloody Mary in a while and miss it. Haha damn that was a quick downpour... but it beats the snow in our opinion!
Yes, we'll take a downpour over snow any day! Especially when it is followed up with an awesome sunset!

Thanks so much guys. We got really lucky with that sunset, but whenever there's a storm right before sunset, there's always the potential of having a great one. Skylar's whole wardrobe consists of shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops if you have not already noticed 😅. But you really don't need much else in Florida.

We absolutely hated this area when we went a few years go. That includes the beach. Way too many cars, not enough parking, and too many people. Plus everything is overpriced. We drove through, went to the beach, then left the area after about half an hour because it was so congested and uncomfortable. We may try again if we go back to Sarasota, but I will only be going for sweets. lol
Skylar really had a negative impression of St. Armands prior to making this video. It's still not his favorite, but we did find some places that were reasonably priced that we really enjoyed, it just took a bit more effort than other places. Plus we'll always love kayaking through the mangroves off of south Lido!

Haha that necklace was so huge and ridiculous, but it really would have matched her dress 😂. We really got lucky with that sunset. It made getting poured on earlier in the day seem 100% worth it.

Yes, there is definitely red tide at the moment. It's really bad in Tampa Bay right now, and is also getting bad on many of the gulf beaches. I would recommend checking out the website below, which does a great job of tracking it. Hopefully it will help you to find an enjoyable beach during your visit. Keep in mind though that the beaches that don't have much red tide will likely be much busier than normal, so try to show up early!

Hi Tashia. It's hard to find anything that's very comparable to St. Armands, as it is such a unique place. I will say though that when we lived in Sarasota we really enjoyed visiting the outlet shops in Ellenton. Like St. Armands, it's an outdoor shopping experience with tons of shops to chose from but at much more affordable prices.
I really enjoy your booze and food tours and especially impressed by how fit you look after all those calories. I wish it was closer but we will visit as soon as possible.

Yes, it's definitely walkable if you are in reasonably good shape.
