  • In this video we showcase ISTA, software that works on MINI, BMW, and Rolls Royce brands.
    We had some odd issues surrounding my MINI Cooper S with JCW package and its performance, so in this video we use ISTA to figure out what is wrong with the car, then follow it's diagnostic and repair steps to get the issue resolved!
    Turns out the ambient air temperature sensor short circuiting caused a lot of issues!

    Funny thing I kept extra B48 salvaged mini cooper engine and entire wiring of that car and module laying around in my garage
    My craziest ldea instead of engine go to waste decided to put in my 21 Nissan Rogue it may work but little modifications as back up engine in case old engine was going bad

    Where was the actual break in the orginal wiring??? And why did it break???

      The car was repaired by myself after I bought it from a salvage auction. The line was shorting out somewhat near the wheel well I believe, but it’s super hard to find exactly where the issue is as I would have to take everything apart, so ran a new wire.

    So where do you get the ista software from ?
    Would it also work with a ODBII Bluetooth Dongle ?
    Can it do things that Bimmerlink and BimmerCode can’t do ?

    • @carcreationsyt
      @carcreationsyt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can get it from bmw, but it’s hard to install so you need to check videos online of how to do so.
      ISTA+ doesn’t code cars, but it’s the oem bmw software for diagnostics.
      It will show more information than BimmerCode or link and also will give you diagrams and step by steps of how to fix an issue using official methods.

      Thx for the reply, I’m curious if bmw here in germany sells ista to consumers… I previously had a Volvo v50 and though you could get Chinese knock offs of the software and ODBII-cable-box-usb it was a royal pain in the bum to get it working..

    Rookie question so please don't roast me too hard... but do I have to have my laptop connected directly to a modem? Because there's no way I'm gonna get a 100ft ethernet cord haha

    • @carcreationsyt
      @carcreationsyt  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just used a laptop, home WiFi for internet, and the enet cable to connect to the car. The enet cable uses the computers Ethernet port

    Hi Ethan, You were brave doing all that with the wiring. I'd never dare attempt anything like that.
    Ive sold my F56 Cooper S and instead I have a Cooper SE on lease. Its a fantastic car. if you get chance to test drive an electric, i fully urge you to do so. / Gena

      @@carcreationsyt I haven't driven a JCW but it's definitely quicker off the mark than my Cooper S was and that was a feisty little monster. I'm loving every minute of driving it and keep finding excuses to go out 😂 My daughters partner is in France this week so I have been picking her up from work to save her using public transport. She has an R55 clubman but is still a learner driver. Her partner has a Cooper S R52 and I still have my Cooper R52 which I also love to drive. We are all Mini-mad. 😊

    What made you go for the 5 door over the 3

    • @carcreationsyt
      @carcreationsyt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A few reasons tbh. It was the cheapest crashed MINI but with a clean title. Life is such a way right now where I carry around adults often so needed rear doors. Also I wanted to make a GP3 like MINI that was unique so the 5 door would fit that bill. Hopefully will upgrade to the gp3 breaks soon and eventually want to upgrade the engine.
      So lots of reasons, however I still love the 3 door and my next mini would be a 3 door.

      @@carcreationsyt well a racetrack popping and making noises is for a purpose… it’s trying to fast and doesn’t care about fuel consumption too much. a privat car behaving like that is just a costume and I’m not a fan of that, same for adding weight with „carbon“ covers when a true purpose of a carbon part would be SAVING weight

    • @GenaF

      @@964cuplove I admit to not being a fan of some pops and bangs but I do like a throaty burble especially on a cold start (i miss them now i've gone electric) and I also detest 'carbon'. There's too much fakery about so when someone shows me their 'carbon' mirror covers or whatever, I just automatically assume its fake. I don't know if they think they're genuinely fooling people but in any case, unless it was on a top Porsche or whatever, they'd never convince me it was real even if it was. I see loads of BMWs covered in 'carbon' accessories and they look crap (in my personal opinion)
