I was gone for 2 weeks for hurricane IDA a few years ago. I fed my tanks, mostly community fish and some rainbows, heavily before I left. No filter, no food and they survived for the entire time. I was completely surprised. I personally thinks plants help with this too.
I do the same! I step up feedings a few days before leaving. If it's less than five days, I don't worry about feeding. Auto feeders and good neighbors are key for longer trips! I also try to clean my filters a few weeks before the trip. That way things are able to recalibrate and nothing is going to clog while I'm gone! ❤❤❤
I just tape my auto feeder so it can't open. This is for a tank at my church and the kids kept messing with the feeder. I definitely have had my fish over fed while I was away. I only feed my fish once to twice a week and they do great. The water stays great and they seem pretty healthy.
From the dual front facing speakers of my sony xperia 1 3. I think I prefer the onboard but not enhanced ( slight echo though). But after a few videos with either setup I think it will just become the new normal. With the wireless dji mic you sound like your nose is stuffy. One last point, I watch a lot of TH-camrs and with any kind of on body microphone vlog style it seems like everyone has issues with rubbing on clothing or some other nonsense they don't realize till they edit. I appreciate you caring about audio, it is underrated.
My "red cap"/"koi" ricefish breed super true. I bought 12 medakas from Aqua Huna last March, sold as "pearl galaxy." They were about a half inch and all appeared to be pearl galaxy. I spawning-mop bred them (just for fun). Once the first gen of fry were about 6 months old, I noticed the vast majority had the red cap. When I checked the parents, I finally noticed that 8 of the 10 left (2 had died) had the red cap. There were about 150 offspring by then (separate from the parents), so I separated the pearl galaxy and the maybe 6 solid orange to a different tank. Since then, only about 10 percent of the fry from the red caps have been pearl galaxy or orange. I've sold and given away all but about 60 red caps, and I'm no longer actively breeding them. Anyway, maybe I just got lucky because many other TH-cam channels report low red cap yields. I can send you pics of them if you'd like to see my overabundance.
I always found your videos to be much louder than others I follow so I noticed straight away that something had changed on this one. I think all versions sound better. The hands free enhanced is probably the best.
I like to keep extra bunches of floating plants in my plant tanks so I can add them to tanks with higher nitrate. Pothos and vining plants can go dormant sometimes and it’s difficult to tell. Pothos also has a low salinity tolerance (Cory might need to find a new plant)
12:56 it might be a bit extreme but i've had some luck dealing with algae (like you have on the carpet grass, not just in general) but if you start cutting rations, get the fish like real hungry, not malnourished, cause you want them metabolizing, maybe turn the heater up a bit too. Then after a couple "half ration" days turn the lights off, and leave it for like 3 days. The fish shouldn't starve to death, i mean keep an eye on them if anything goes wrong obviously, but the plants should be able to handle 3 day blackout better than the algae. It's like shooting yourself in the foot but you know you can take it better than the other guy. Then after 3 days return to a normal lighting cycle, the fish should be ravenous by now, but they should have also eaten any of the dying algae, but the plants should still be alive. There is no science in this method (i also have a buncha snails as well as fish, no shrimp) it's just what works for me without being "intrusive"
A solution I use to make sure my fish are fed the proper amounts when I'm out of town is to use pill sorters. The ones with the days of the week printed on the tops. I add the amount and types of food I want feed each day. I like this because all the sitter needs to do is just opens up the corresponding day and dump the food in the tank. I have a sorter for each tank. I like these better than auto feeders as they are very cheap and my fish can continue to get a variety of different foods. And I know whoever is feeding my fish isn't over feeding! ❤
Hey Mike. Love the food. Keeps over stocked tank water a lot clearer. Was wondering if you are working on a tiny tiny food? Something like golden pearl size. That would be awesome! Thanks.
Great to hear! One day we'll have a true "fry food" its harder than you think to get super tiny pieces that dont clump together... unless you process the #&*T out of it....
look the information, is the best bet. how ever if there really is a difference in the microphone I can hear it, one sounds much clearer, it's stabilized better in the sound wave , one sounds chunky.
I got my first guppies in a long time about three weeks ago. They were doing great, had babies and everything. My females started showing Ick yesterday so I went to Walmart and got some Ick Free. Treated my tank and got a heater because my apartments cold. Went to bed last night and they seemed to be better. Got up this morning and they were all dead. Snails and shrimp are fine. What should I do besides a water change before I get new ones?
If the whole video was done with a certain mic definitely don't change it mid video and no one would know the diff, either is perfect. But the enhanced is way to mechanical and echoey
I think the wireless microphone is the best option. Volume levels wont be an issue, and in my opinion it sounds the best (very close to the dji mic on the camera). I can say for sure that the 'enhanced' version sounds terrible to me.
When i know that I'm going on vacation i switch to high protein stuff for my all fishes like tubifex worms , and high quality pellets and then i do water a water change then i dont worry about the fishes at all because of my past with this i had no problems at all the fishes wi find something to graze on it Like my angels and some cichlids eating wood like bristlenose plecos do. Even corydoras that are considered to be carnivore fish but they pick hair algae when i dont feed them. Especially my pond ones really dont care at all. My angels breed for me every 2 weeks even if i dont feed them any kind of commercial food They get all jind of larve and algae to munch on it. So vacation trips are fine atleast for me. 😂
I like what you sound like in the beginning the enhanced sounds too tinny! Doesn’t sound good what you did with the majority of the video sounds great and professional
I have used several auto-feeders over long periods... They are all terrible. First, the amount delivered is unreliable and impossible to regulate with precision. Second, the food can get mechanically stuck depending on how it ends after a revolution. Third, the food can become humid from the tank evaporation and swell and rot. It is time to throw away the template and invent a radically different auto-feeder.
Try some LEGITIMATE ( 26:32 ) fish food for a change ➡ geni.us/shopLEGIT

Nice video, new camera clearly helps with transitions. Audio is great! Thanks!

Your electronic devices are on point cameras ,and audio perfect. Love your set ups, amazing 🤩✨✨✨the floaters for feeding fish I haven't use it yet.

I kept two betas in a 55 gallon…was awesome to watch. I usually change the light to blue at night and when I’m gone
Mic is great. Thanks for keeping it real.
Love your videos and your New Camra!
Sounds good 👍
7:17 i've seen people put a little tape, on the lowest setting of the feeder to just turn the "rectangle" into a "square" letting out half the food
Ohhh ya ive heard this too, def gonna try that out ;) thanks!
What is the plant hanging out of the corner of the white cloud minnow tank? 4:50 is it creeping Jenny or a bacopa?
Creeping Jenny 🤙
Onboard mic plus audio editing sounds the best
Wow the new pocket 3 looks great. Makes your video a bit more cinematic.
Thank you so much.
Youre welcome! 🫡
Hold the phone, pause where did you get that fish food container thing ? Omg 🤯 that is so freaking cool.
Mike, the 'Mic' sounds fine
I want to say welcome back its nice to see content from you Mike. What are those feeding rings you are using?
Thanks! the rings are coming "soonish" to legitfishfood.com
on board mic sounds the best..the enhanced sounds like you are in a sound booth and sounds more like a voice over narration
I like to keep extra bunches of floating plants in my plant tanks so I can add them to tanks with higher nitrate. Pothos and vining plants can go dormant sometimes and it’s difficult to tell. Pothos also has a low salinity tolerance (Cory might need to find a new plant)
Hey, thanks for the very informative video. What that food feeding device you are using please?
Can you please tell what's the background music you're using for this? It's so good
Great tips. Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving.

If the whole video was done with a certain mic definitely don't change it mid video and no one would know the diff, either is perfect. But the enhanced is way to mechanical and echoey
How did you get the tree look?
Where do you get those portals from?
Watching from philippines
What DJI Osmo is that? Love the tanks!
the new pocket 3 :)
@@AQUAPROS the footage looks great, always super sharp and the tanks pop so much! I'm definitely getting one 🤯👏
What are your thoughts on "Father fish" and his methods?
Up
Great investment 👌
The enhanced sound is worse.
When you switch back it sounds a bit echo but is deeper and much better and chill.
Sound has a bit of an echo. I do love this type of content though.
Thanks! I agree, but sound more "in person" than the +mic later in the video??? 21:58
I thought that was just a type of pepper grinder u were using w pellets in it. That would work no?
yes, but they all kinda suck in their own different ways... im working on making modifications so so they dont suck!
There's so little info on how much you should actually feed. Great video, tanks look amazing.
Hey this all sounds perfect for me, especially if you can make more content!
Thanks James!
You could leave your fish for weeks and they'd still have things to eat in a mature tank. People tend to over feed fish.
yuppppp :)

Thanks Dylan, ya its kinda robotic huh? 🤪🤪🤪
What tree you have there
Do you only sell to the US? I live in UK
ya, only US for now :(
Do you use filter in this aquarium?
yes, its an oase biomaster, the smallest one

Heck ya, thanks for sharing!
I bought weekly medicine holders and divvy out the daily amount for people who watch my tanks.
Ive been seasoning my chicken with legit fish food .....legit cutlets are epic!! 💪🏼
hahaha can confirm Its LEGIT for many uses... 😂😋
What is that food dispenser?
The auto one or the handhelds I flashed?
@@AQUAPROS Those hand held ones look super useful
Also interested in knowing where to get the handheld ❤❤
Onboard mic more clear and probably better when just recording indoors like this.
Mic is good
I like the No mic but enhanced.
The video quality looks good, you look tired.
I guess thats the trade off of a better camera... hahah thanks for the feedback tho ;)
I like what you sound like in the beginning the enhanced sounds too tinny! Doesn’t sound good what you did with the majority of the video sounds great and professional
Thanks for lettin me know Cam!
Dude.. buy an automatic fish feeder.. Buy the best quality.. Problem solved.. like I said high quality!!!
Which one would you reccomend?
No mic enhanced setting can remove the need for a lapel mic
True ;)

Try clipping the mic 🎤 on the neck of ur shirt but honestly no mic was really nice in my opinion.(Im on my cell)
Aku menyimakmu Master 😎
👍🏻👍🏻
😉
The enhanced mic sounds wrong imo, really grainy.
I just set all of my skimmers up on timers so I can feed my fish
Nice!

Do you make your tanks?
I can see all your freckles now 🤓
Ya, might have to shoot in 480p to maintain my youth lmao
