Is he saying tourmaline is an ingredient in the ADA Power Sand?? I've used black tourmaline as hardscape/decor pebbles in my first aquascape I set up last year and it did way better than the second scape I tried with amethyst and garnet sand - I was wondering if that might be a reason why.
Thanks so much for having me MD. It was an awesome experience to see your studio in person, and a privilege to create something new for it 🙏☺️ the plants look amazing already. Lovely fish selection too, colours are amazing! 😍
One thing I was curious about is what would happen to the tank if you put in that monster soil system WITHOUT upgrading the lighting and adding CO2. Obviously there was a bunch of algae here with just the co2 and the stock lighting, but there also weren't any water changes for a month. Would you just be wasting money and forcing yourself into a lot of extra water changes by using the high-powered substrate with low tech equipment?
I hope you continue to invite other aquascapers to build in your studio and that they last beyond your usual 6 months. It's really beautiful to see the interactions between yourself and others who are equally as passionate and prolific in the hobby. Been a real joy to follow your progress, MD. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I started watching you about a year ago. Got a small 25l tank for a betta. Going to be picking up the same tank you used today for a new build. Thank you
MD can I just say in the last few years you have truely inspired me, I started at age 12 and went from all artificial plants to full on low tech aquascapes, I am now 16. Your methods are what I swear by, and it works every time! (That is besides the scapes that I do and end up not liking😂) but you need to know (you already probably do) that you have inspired so many people!!! I have just started my largest tank around the same size as you discuss tank currently, and it’s a little scary, but I am using all your methods and all is going amazing so far! All my tanks are through your inspiration! I just want to thank you!!!!!
Wow, what an amazing video. Thank you so much MD and Dave. This is one of , if not the best videos on fish keeping I have ever seen. The tank and fish look amazing. Thanks to you MD, I only shop at Aquarium Gardens now as I believe it’s the best shop online and Dave has soooo much available to buy for both starter tanks right up to pure pro aqua scapers.
The Superfish Scaper 90 is great! Not small but also not too big. I've got mine on a Juwel Lido cabinet. It was actually cheaper than the Superfish cabinet and the even colour fits better with the surroundings. Superfish scaper tanks deserve high end aquascapes! I've dry started my tank and made a carpet of monte carlo using my home grown stock. Basically a tub with soil and clay balls where it grows emersed till I need some. Dry starting to get a carpet or moss cover works a treat with the Superfish light.
Just one tip MD, did you shut off the co2 before adding the new fish. Because the ph difference caused by the difference in co2 in the water may have shocked them a bit more than usual. Just a thing to look out for 😊
That tank looks absolutely stunning. Dave sure does know his stuff. I'm not sure about the color rendition of the ADA light, I think I prefer the chihiros WRGB2. I noted down a few species of plants I'll be using in my next aquascape.
Wow this is the kind of build I’ve been waiting for a long time to this channel No co2 is ok but this one with amazing choices of plans it’s super amazing If you do more of this kind of build It will be amazing for your channel
Great experience for me Astoudishing (though quite obvious) how the equipment gives the Ada touch of greenery stright away. And obviously the knowledge and experience of Dave, and Md. Love it.
Love seeing you working with talented aquascapers and seeing different methods / styles of scaping. Have you ever looked into Pond Life Aquatics? They're based in London and do the most beautiful ponds and scapes. If you ever look into doing a pond, I'd strongly recommend Pond Life. They also started making their own content on TH-cam too! I know they can travel nation wide and would love to see you work with them!
great looking tank! you know what goes well with hydrocotyle verticillata? pigmy corydoras - they like to chill on those coin leaves, looking very nice
Tank is looking great and plants are very healthy but the Superfish light made it look brighter and slightly warmer. The ADA light looked stark and cold.
Loved the video. I know the shape of your tanks ( square or rectangle ) sit comfortably in your studio, but how about trying a scape on a corner tank eg a Juwel Trigon 190 or 350. Using the existing filter and lighting that come with them and let's see how it fairs after a few weeks in your care.
The fish probably noticed the lower PH and potential less oxygen in the water and took a second to adapt. I love this little setup and the stone/wood is great.
Ive been watching your channel for only a few months now and I watched this video i was thinking of getting a tank again i used to have a 200ltr one when i was in my 30s needless to say i now have one of these sitting in my living room now im just slowly buying things for it im in no rush to get it done so i can take my time making decisions on how its going to look
You could probably pretty easily get some sort of siding that would cover the cinder blocks, I don't think a lot of us care but you've mentioned them a couple times and I think that could be a solution. Just some thin faux wood to cover them or something if you're concerned but I think its fine.
I just love your content and the way you present it!!! My dream is to have someone load their car up with aquascaping gear and drive it to my house! I have a 55gallon just screaming to get rescaped but can't find a starting point or a few days in a row to start that project!
Waw that's amazing Dave brought you some rally beautiful rocks .. I have just cleaned my tank up and running agen going foraging for rocks tomorrow along the beach and up the river .. I know I need to clean them properly.. looking for different colours all the same size.. going a uniform look
Hey MD, I have a DIY CO2 citric acid to bicarbonate soda setup, and I have it going through the bottom of an internal 2500lph filter, i turn the co2 on for a few seconds twice a day and get great results 👍🏻 not using a diffuser just a airline with a air stone on the end 👍🏻 anyway i just thought i would share my idea lol
@MDFishTanks.. What about a fresh water mangrove tank? Shallow water with the trees growing out, white sand, and nano fish… be outside of your norm, but in your theme
I think that's like our 20 gallon tanks here in Canada ... I have two of those and a 5 gallon. The 20 gallon is as big as I want to go so I can look after everything myself (lifting it if needed to set up or take down). I have one by my desk and one in our living area. The 5 gallon has neocaridina shrimp in the dinning room.
Personally have an inline diffuser for my co2, but no matter how many bpm, my co2 drop checker never turns fully green. Ph seems stable around 7.5, which is what it is straight from the tap.
My favourite scape so far...do love all ur scape...one thought. Didn't the fish got shocked this time ? I thought that co2 lowers ur ph..have u checked how low it is now? I mean u already have a fair low ph....love ur channel have watch since the beginning and seen all of ur videos...keep it up...😊
Enjoyed watching this tank come to its final scape with fish very nicely done. The lighted back ground did change the light tint of the Ada light. However I did like the darker black background better, but that is a personal taste. I believe the darker back ground pops the color better of the fish. I would have like to seen the Ada light with the darker background I think the plants color would pop more against the black background. Again personal preference. I think this setup is definitely a the way Takashi Amano would have liked it to be. It got his vibe about it. Good job guys. I wished we had store like your friend who setup this aquarium near me. But sadly many of the product are not available in my area of the USA. Definitely no super fish aquariums even online. Wish they could make a way into America. I really like their aquarium kits much better than what is available here.
If you like how those gudgeons look now, just wait a few months. The colours which the male is hinting at now are going to get crazy bright. He will also grow a bit.
Hi guys, great video. I'm about to start my first ever planted aquarium and this is exactly what I'd like to create. I missed the substrate materials? Please can you advise on what soil you guys used?
41:00 Ofcourse sales is always a factor. A shop in any hobby wants their customer go succeed in the hobby. When the customer fails to have succes they lose a customer. So i totally believe they want their customer to have great succes. 😊 and thats okay. We as customers want to have good shops to get our supplies. And to have that they need customers.
I'll bet the ADA light is more powerful for plant growth but I like the subtle orange or warmness of the superfish light. Is ADA for plat growth or home enjoyment?
Hey you've really inspired me with your Scape Skills. Just a question, what kind of none Aquarisik type of furniture would you recommend me. I've got a 25l Nano Tank, but I'm having a hard time finding the fitting furniture stand for the vibe of the Tank
Looks really great😊 But I would never want a system at home that requires a weekly 80% waterchange to balance out the tank..😅 Seems very unstable to me.

Your fish aren’t having a hissy fit - they’re probably shocked from the Ph drop due to the ADA soil and the proper co2 system. You should’ve acclimated them as drops of more than 0.1-0.5 of a Ph shift can be brutal. Just carelessness on your part to be honest 🙃
Your "random rasbora" looks like a Danio erythromicron. Beautiful but very shy fish. The lighting was very irritating in that shot, so I am not 100% sure. If it interests you, google the species and compare 😊.

Can I have some advice on a plant please..? Fantastic content as usual 😊
Ahh, back to normaility. Video 76 of asking for a tank with some freshwater dolphinfish please.
Love this one!!!!
You should have Serpaedesign come do a tank!

Great job on the tank, it looks amazing. I'll be stealing a few ideas for my next aquascape for sure. :D
thanks so much for coming Dave. We had a good laugh all day and created something special in the studio 👍👍

Loving the Dave & MD combo! Dave’s great bought from him lots of time. Hope we get more of this duo content

Going to be picking up the same tank you used today for a new build.

You can tell Dave was so excited to come just based on all the fun stuff he brought!
15 secs!!! Love that i just so happen to be at work every time you post, gives me something to do with my last hour lol.
I LOVE how the grass came in, definitely having that whenever I make mine
I love the darker wood and elder stone. The contrast between the buce and stem plants is really pretty. Such an interesting scape IMO ❤

You have great taste in music 🎶 👌
That choice can absolutely make or break a channel.
The outro tune was wonderful.
Just one tip MD, did you shut off the co2 before adding the new fish. Because the ph difference caused by the difference in co2 in the water may have shocked them a bit more than usual. Just a thing to look out for 😊
Beautiful set up. The rasbora really pop in there.

Do you acclimate the fish and shrimp to the water? You always say the temp is the same but what about the ph, kh, gh, nitrates, nitrites etc ..?
same water in all his tanks
@@MrExoriusI don’t think so
I was really looking forward to see the babyseat hardscape in the tank. Ahwell maybe next time. 😊
🤣

Love the look of this tank. I've always had better luck with high-tech setups. Still trying to figure out low-tech.
Great work md❤🎉

wow all in my cart ready to order but one thing did you need a heater for this Scape please
Me self is still a fan of the low tech setups by Mr MD❤ …this is nice though ❤
That's it! Time for a rescape!

I must admit I do prefer the light the Superfish gave over the newer one! Brighter as well
Beautiful. But how many amano shrimp are in that surface skimmer lol 😆
Do you have to use the cartridges in that superfish HOB , or can you put your own media in?
Hey you've really inspired me with your Scape Skills. Just a question, what kind of none Aquarisik type of furniture would you recommend me. I've got a 25l Nano Tank, but I'm having a hard time finding the fitting furniture stand for the vibe of the Tank
Nice fish selection
Great video as always.
Looks really great😊
But I would never want a system at home that requires a weekly 80% waterchange to balance out the tank..😅
Seems very unstable to me.
Looks good but why have you still got the glass tubing in if the co2 running through your filter ? anyway well done again 👍
Wheres the link for the super glue activator, also can i use any gel super glue ?? As the superfish will work expensive for the amount i need to glue
With your use of sub soils I would be curious how the nutrients would hold up compared to a Walstad or Father Fish tank.
Awesome scape, where is the light screen from?
with a single tank, what was your method for keeping the fish healthy and filter running? I only have one tank but really want to rescape it
Nice new video tanks md❤
Are these all cold water fish you put in
Cant seem to locate the instant adhesive spray link
Edit: That you said you'd leave in the description
Should I adjust the KALLAX somehow to fit a 60 L aquarium?
can you rise the water level up?
Beautiful work as always. But Kallax..??? Oooof, I would not put corrugated paper with laminate edges under a tank.
Jeeez 1 hour 15 minutes 😲😄
Am sure it’s worth it 👍
did you empty the saltwater tank?
MD I wouldn’t use that KALLAX shelf as a stand. That thing is made out of cardboard.
What is that tank to the right..?
Hey MD what do you think of MJ Aquascaping?
whats the temp of the tank?
1:10:07 looks to be a galaxy rasbora.
or emerald rasbora
Isn't that model customizable with an app?
I hate watching your videos because it always makes me want to go out and buy 3 more aquariums. 😂
You should do a tank with Kate and teach her along the way
Eh - I have half a size tank with loads of fish - all doing great. Don't have the space for individual fish - so some fry tanks - and main tank!
Bring MJ next 🎉🎉
I’m sad I can never find a place in the USA even online that sells to USA
Wasnt this video upload a while back? its coming up as a new video for me.
Oh nice ❤💜
Put both lights on, at 50%, best of both.
The glass bit you added poking out up front sort of ruins it.
Maybe put it in the back.
Is this reupload??
Let me grab my dinner.
😂good point
Exactly 😂
MD, I'm only halfway through this video but you had better do the maintenance on this tank. You can water change one tank a week, come now, say it with me, ' a weekly maintenance tank'
"I WILL do a weekly water change!"
Breaks a promise in a single week. 😂 At least Mark's honest with us, appreciate it.
the fish are definitely in shock, whether its temp or pH or something else
Could you get automatic subtitles in Finnish?
I love plastic plants.!
What happened to the saltwater tank? 😯
At 39:30 you can see it next to the computer desk.
update coming very soon
He initially got two, but only ever set up one. The other one has always been empty.
@@MDFishTanksThanks and keep up the great work. Love to watch your videos! Great content, great personality. All the best from Germany!
