    Differences with the UK:
    1. Cops will chase stolen cars or cars with suspect documentation (Road Tax, Inspection certificate, Insurance, dodgy plates) or suspicious driver
    2. The lead chase car gives a running commentary over the radio indicating the route, so other cars can get ahead to place traps or join in to perform a PIT manoeuvre
    4. US cops have to be cautious approaching a stopped car, since the driver may be armed . In the Uk theres no such fear of the driver being armed, so the stopped car is piled on by multiple cops who will smash the windows and haul the driver out, and cuff him, sometimes rather enthusiastically....

Too much talking. Granted, the recruit may be in Phase 1 or Phase 2 of training, so ot MAY be understandable. But, if he is a Phase 3 or 4 recruit, the FTO needs to observe and evaluate, not side seat drive. He isn't doing that recruit any favors by spoon feeding conditions, tips, and instructions.
If the rookie can't perform well on his own, he isn't a viable candidate. Again, if he is a brand new recruit, okay. But, if he is at the midpoint of FTO or beyond, then that FTO is doing too much.
