Gotta love those Ford "Eco Beast" engines. The first generation of the "newer" Explorer had horrible transmissions too, they have a hard time deciding what gear to be in if you're constantly on the throttle, then the brakes, then the throttle again, then the brakes again. That tends to happen a lot when responding to emergencies or chasing someone. Ford also makes a twin turbo version of these engines but many police departments won't buy it because it costs more. Ford, Chevorlet and Dodge need to stop nickel and diming everyone and just make one cruiser with a good engine as standard like they did with the old Crown Victoria or the old Caprice.

The ending of this video kinda shows exactly why these kids think this behavior is okay. Why wasn't he charged with the hit and run he committed? Why wasn't he charged with the probation violation he committed? Why, after already proving TWICE that his immediate reaction to a police stop is to try to cause a serious vehicle crash, in this second case try to run down kids in a park, and after he's already proven that giving him a light sentence has no influence on his behavior, is this reckless, emotionless animal not locked up behind bars? Because courts exist to coddle entitlement rather than to protect anyone. Plain and simple.

Back in the day, if you did run it was expected to get a flashlight upside your head, for making them have to chase you. That was always a reminder to do the right thing and definitely don't be a smartass and smart off , that would get you the same response , knock a little sense into you. Moral of story , it worked !

I've run from the cops and nearly got away. I came out of the forest at the wrong time right into two cops. They beat the fuck out of me, broke my jaw. That was ten years ago and I don't get in trouble any more.

It’s unbelievably disgusting that the courts just give these thugs a slap on the wrist. Most of the juveniles I arrested for auto theft or burglary would look at me and laugh n say “all you can do to me is call my mamma to come get me” and he was right!!!! The criminal justice system is a damned joke, the lazy assed prosecutors and judges just keep turning criminals lose on probation, which means no punishment whatsoever. Disgusting!!!!
