    If I hadn't stumbled on your post about this, I would still be always tugging on the back of my wig .. I have been wearing wigs for maybe 15 years and no information like this has seen the light, with all the research I have done year after year .. I have bought all sorts of "glue" but was too scared ? to try it and now ? I don't think I have to because this makes sense finally. Most of my wigs are shorter ... but I am hoping once I stop feeling so insecure about slippage ? I will feel better about wearing them. Thank you !

    Finally , a wig reviewer who nails it. I personally cannot stand wearing a wig grip or anything on my head while wearing a wig. No pressure, no more pulling down and stretching out the wig. Wearing the wig and letting it sit where it wants is the best way.

    Wowww wig wearer here since April 2024. So, this is my wigs sit high up on back of my head I thought it is about to rubber band off my head into the air! Seriously so I bought some got2beglued I hate those terrible ingredients on my skin. However, now that I think about it, it never goes anywhere after it finds its spot on the higher part of my head! I’m going back to my wig grip only! So thanks for pointing this out. Your a gem and God bless you for giving me peace on my wig journey❤

      @@agingintobeautywanted to update you 8 days after seeing your video on just wearing my wig grip and no glue. It’s perfect it finds it’s spot right before the curve of my head and just sits there. Thank you very much for this information. I am wearing a average cap by Jon Renau. I love Jon Renau wigs. It does ride up. The rest of my measurements are petite or smaller. I measured the cap after I made the adjustments to fit my head it is 20.5. Not 21.2 inches, as I have measured for circumference. It doesn't ride up. So I guess I will be looking for a petite size. In the meantime I will sew up my 4 average wigs. Am I thinking correctly?

    • @agingintobeauty
      @agingintobeauty  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@karenbaldwin2325 Not sure if I understand completely but if the wig is too tight, it will definitely ride up. A wig should not grip too tight. If it’s pulled down too low and onto the neck, it isn’t “riding up” it’s finding the skull. If it’s slipping up the middle of your head, then that is truly riding up.
      If you’ve pulled the adjusters in all the way and the wig slips around when you shake your head, then it is definitely too big around the circumference.
      If it fits around the cap but you have a loose pocket like an empty pouch then you are an avg petite. A petite may fit but could be too small too.
      Unfortunately, it takes some trial and error. I have made my average caps work but I’m going to order some petites and test that out too;)
      Please let me know what works for you. We’re all trying to figure out the perfect fit:)

      Temple to Temple 12 inch
      Front to back 12 inch
      Round back 13
      Circumstance 21.2
      I believe it is big for me.
      After I sew 5 wefts together and put clips in it it is comfortable not tight at all. It sits at the base of the skull.
      By the way I bought wig clips with safety pins so I can take them out and put in another wig. Amazon.
      I will keep you posted when I buy a petite.

    • @agingintobeauty
      @agingintobeauty  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sizing is a whole other issue in wigs. Sadly there is no real industry standard and even within a manufacturer you will find varying sizes. Each wig is constructed of stretchy material by humans with varying weights of fiber… There is no way to determine fit until you try her on, I’m afraid.
      The purpose of this video is to alert people that they may feel the wig is too small when in fact they’re just wearing it incorrectly.
      That said, the industry is starting to make more large and petite sizes.
      Now that you know how to wear your wig on your skull and not pulled down onto your neck, I hope you find a comfortable fit. Thank you for stopping by. More content coming:)

    Another question about wigs riding up. I also think the reason yours isn't riding up is because you've shaved your hair, which would help alot. I still have a fair amount of bio hair from the top of my ears down but Very little on top and some large completely bald areas.
    Just don't know if I'm wearing my grip right to help.

    • @agingintobeauty
      @agingintobeauty  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are absolutely correct! Shaving my head turned out to be the best trick to keeping my wig secure. Those short buzz cut hairs are like a wig grip that’s glued to your head. I don’t even need a grip anymore! My thin fine hair was so silky - even my wig grip would slip up. It takes an act of courage but I highly recommend everyone give it a try. I still feel like it’s not secure and will blow off. Do you have any advice of what I’m doing wrong and how it make it secure enough that I could ride a motorcycle and it would stay secure. @@ckaywiley Well, you are a wild child. A gal after my own heart! lol
      I wouldn’t take on wind or carnival rides - definitely not motorcycles unless my wig was glued down.
      I used to cover my head in Got2B Glued to fully install every day and then, I still had to worry about sweat loosening the glue.
      I really think it has a lot to do with head shape as I’ve seen people take on rollercoasters with a basic head grip and win… others flipped their wig lol
      The best advice I can give for your extreme adventures is to follow the wise women of old: A beautiful scarf over the hair tied under the chin… but a little glue is a good idea;)

      Yes, it’s a major contributor to my hair loss so it’s a story I’ll share here in a future video:) Thank you for watching

      I think we all have such stories to tell with hair loss .. mine were stress and auto-immune diseases. We all have had heart break in some manner but I think it helps to share those stories, hope to hear about yours !@@agingintobeauty

    It’s hard to see the nape with these long styles you’ve chosen. Great info but a short nape wig may have been a better visual.

      Thanks, that’s a good point. I made the video after hearing a lot of people talking about the issue of wigs riding up and had to work with the wigs I had. I’ll try to get my hands on a pixie wig and do another demonstration of where the wig should sit. My camera set up and studio (bathroom) lighting needs work as well lol

    You didn't wear a wig grip? Doesn't it slide around?

      The buzz cut makes my whole head work like a velvet wig grip. Works better than glue or grip! Not only has it streamlined my wig wearing experience but I’ve really grown to love my buzzed head look too:)

    This doesn't work for short wigs with short 2" nape

      Yes, especially when hair grows low on the neck. In those instances, I’d go for a longer nape or just glue it down to prevent movement. It is nice not having movement with no glue though;)
