this video was so helpful!!! took me until about step 3 or 4 before I found the jam, but I win the award for patient spouse this time, because my husband thought it was a goner!
I absolutely love my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium! It has successfully carried through Graduate School and all the reports, papers, research, etc. In addition I used it to do at home consulting for approximately 4 years prior to grad school while changing from a Windows environment to MAC. I just had a problem with the cartridge being stuck and a particular color not being recognized as inserted. This video was a tremendous help and I was able to understand after looking at all the scenarios, because none addressed my exact problem. Finally I was able to resolve my problem with a little ingenuity and new info. the video provided and viola! I'm back in business!! Thank you.
This is great information. It would be even better if it included how to clear a paper jam from the document feeder. I'm still looking for that answer.

I received a new HP 8600 for 2012 Christmas when it prints it makes loud noise like the gears are grinding ... is this normal for the 8600. It prints fine but is noisy! Also is there a way to scan both side of a document without "re-feeding" it in the document feeder?

+Alexis Ursua Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. The steps in following document apply to both real and false paper jams: bit.ly/2nwDgK9
Alexis Stroke It sounds like a power issue. I would recommend you ensure it is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a power bar or surge protector.
Never buying an HP printer again. I have an 8600 that i bought new from Best Buy and it's terrible. Constant paper jam messages after using it for 2 months.

Thank you for the video. I pulled out the printer head and cleaned it up and that took care of the problem. Probably saved $150.00. Thanks!
