0xE5 is the same as 000031. I have a video here: th-cam.com/video/-DvsptHbY1w/w-d-xo.html. The video is on pre-release and will be available on 5/5/2022 at 12:00 PM EST. Not exactly the model you have, and it may not be exactly the problem you have, but it may help you to troubleshoot your problem. Basically, the printer won't find a good position due to the timing belt or its starting position. The error was "tooth skip or improper tension of timing belt, carriage speed fails, carriage timing belt fails, paper jam." All of these are related to the printer not starting at a good position, or the timing belt is at fault.

I found this video because the error message on my HP 9015 printer matched the title of the video and the carrier would not budge. There was no paper jam. After watching the video and without removing any screws I used a flashlight to see that the small gear was not engaged with the other gears. Probing it with a small tweezers I could see that the gear was cracked. I ordered the Twrench set and the gear. I received them in four days. Replaying the video several times, I made the repair in about 45 minutes. A replacement printer is $325. The tools and gear including postage was $26. I am grateful to the video creator and BCH Technologies for making this video.

Followed Kevin's instructions to fix my hp 9018 with cracked paper feed gear. Only had one extra screw when finished! :) The black and silver screws seemed identical and I didn't inventory them on the way out, but the printer is operational now thanks to Kevin and the gear I ordered from BCH. Thank you!

Kevin - Great video - very helpful. I found 3 additional screws on my HP9018e; on the center back were 2 screws and one more on the left side above the cable/power connectors. Keep up the good work!!

Thank you so much! Had exactly this problem on my HP 9016, the gear was broken in an almost identical way to what you showed. Had some trouble finding the replacement gear with a reasonable delivery time for Europe, so I just glued the broken gear. So far, it seems to work. There were a few additional screws in the back. Keep up the good work!

OMG .. thank you so much. I just fixed my not very old HP with your gear. I managed to wrestle my big North American hand into the unit without taking it apart and mount that little gear.
After 10 head cleaning cycles its running great again (i might have had the inks out for a while and the nozzle must have dried while waiting for part)

Kevin, thank you for posting this video (and others). It helped me solve my problem with an HP 8028. The printhead was stuck to the right and the plastic gear that you mention was broken so I ordered 2 of them from your company. After installing a new one, I powered up the printer and the printhead was slamming on the right and also on the left. It did this a few times and broke 3 teeth off the new gear so I went back to the drawing board and found that this could be caused by a dirty encoder strip so I cleaned it with alcohol and water. It was dirty but I also noticed that it had slipped below the sensor on the back side of the printhead and wasn't tracking correctly. I fixed this by rethreading the encoder strip and it SOLVED THE PROBLEM as the printhead could now read the encoder strip and figure out where to stop.

It looks like your printer tried to go for a spin, but you managed to put it back in line! Kudos for outsmarting the gears-who knew a bit of cleaning could save the day?

Have to give kudos to Kevin for his video. Like everyone else, my printer suddenly stopped yesterday, and I received the dreaded paper jam error. It was easy to see that the ink carriage wasn't moving and I had a problem. I found this video and followed the step...sort of. I was able to access the ink carriage without completely removing the top plastic surface and removed the ink. From there I was able to slide the under plate back, allowing me to finally move the carriage out of the way. Sure enough, the paper feed gear was sitting there and when I pulled it out, I saw the crack. Yes, I ordered a replacement gear, but I needed to do some printing NOW. So, I superglued the crack in the gear, let it set for a few hours and worked it back in place. I then put most of the printer back together (knowing that the part was on the way, I did not replace every screw). From there I printed 25 sheets of Avery 3x5 card stock without issue. No one wants this to happen, but hats off to Kevin for making this issue go away!

Very helpful video. I was able to buy the C10 and the gear from BCH and fix the 9018 printer. Took about an hour. Taking out the hinge on right was a bit difficult but using flat screw driver, it worked. Similarly a thin flat screw driver helped push the gear on the rod. BCH has a nice paper hint that came with the part - put the wheel in warm water to expand it so that it is easier to push it on the rod.

My printer stopped working just 1 month after the end of warranty. Manged to dismantle my printer thanks to this video, and ordered gears at BCH. Waited for delivery while all the tools and the printer open on the floor. Finally received today, but failed in fixing the gear. The gear didn’t fit into the rod. Too tight. I got two gears broken and my finger hurt, bleeding. OTL. The printer will be thrown away to the local recycling center tomorrow. Good to know anyway that I have no more choice left with just the cost less than 30 bucks. I will buy HP printer never again.

What is the final position the items should be in at the end? Does the ink tray go to the right over the ink catcher. And is the ink catcher should be elevated in front or all yhe way back? Also does the lever need to be to the right or left at the finishing? I tried these steps and had the ink catcher all the way elevated by spinning it counter clockwise. But the tray will not go back to right unless i spin it clockwise. I getting confused on the last steps and postion eberything should be at.

Spot on with the cause of the problem Kevin, when I managed to get it apart, getting spares though not easy which is why local repair shops refuse to take it on. If these keep breaking how come HP is not taking responsibility, printer only 2.5 years old, not impressed

Thanks for the upload. I was able to get the gear on and reassembled. I turned it on and it said checking printer. I then got a supply error and the white thing at 3:19 is now blue. Was I supposed to get that back in position before putting the print head back on? Can it turn white again or is it toast?

A lot more difficult than it appears. After a couple of hours I did manage to get it working, somewhat. Not mentioned about connecting "ribbon" to internal board so the screen will work. Don't know that I want to open it again to try that. Operating from computer says cartridge carriage stalled, though I can scan. Haven't tried to print yet, too tired to bother with this more right now.

Is the Officejet Pro 9025 different in disassembly/re-assembly??

    • @BCHTechnologies
      @BCHTechnologies  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

hanks for subscribing and supporting the channel - it really helps us get closer to that 100k goal! The OfficeJet Pro 9025 does have a few differences in disassembly and reassembly compared to the 8012, 8035, 8022, and 8025 models, but overall, the process is quite similar. With a bit of patience, you should be able to figure it out as you go. If you run into any tricky spots, feel free to drop another comment - subscriber questions are usually answered within 48 hours. Appreciate your engagement and good luck with the repair!

Dear Kevin, could you specify which of the large white wheels I should be turning towards me when the printer is sitting normally? The carriage on the new one I just received is sitting so high it cannot even be manually moved to the center-- it gets stuck on the plastic flaps that are right above it in its position all the way over on the right. Thank you!

I had the same problem. Spent over $250 for this printer and it developed the problem you outlined in your video two weeks after the 1-year warranty. During the year I had the printer I probably only printed less than 100 pages. I did not want to waste my time and effort to go thru the hassle as outlined in your video so threw the printer in the trash. Even if I did go thru the hassle of replacing the gear it would probably develop the same problem again within a year. HP used to have good quality printers but what they put out today are junk in my opinion so will never buy an HP printer ever again.
