Elisha, You explained on Patreon that unlike some reactors you do not monetize from your reactions so you can actually play the entire songs through without interruptions at all for fear of being blocked. In the future you may cut in sometimes to make comment but not to avoid blocking. I think that is great to eliminate annoying cuts.

Fifteen years old here, and as you journey back through her videos, you will become even more amazed at what she does, and the age she does it at. Try her black and white video at 9 years old of Screaming Jay Hawkins 1956 original, "I Put A Spell On You", or her Tribute to Whitney Houston at 12 with "I Have Nothing", or her appearance on Americas Got Talent: The Champions at 13, or "Feeling Good" at 8 years old or her appearance on Norway's Got Talent at 7 and winning at 8. More than many, but certainly not as long as many “Angels” particularly the Scandinavians who have had the opportunity to see her in person from the start. It is only recently that I have been adding my two cents in the comments section (especially to reactor’s videos) and it is thrilling to share learned information for the soon-to-be Angelina Jordan fans just starting their journey. I have noticed that there is a bit of information that is at best, specious, although shared with the love of Angelina’s talent at its root. I am always pleased to see your name to a first reactor’s comments section. The craziest part is that even at a very young age, Angelina has the most soulful, emotional voice I have ever heard. As talented as Angelina is, she is an even better human being, humble and filled with empathy. Please take the time to read the biography I compiled for her. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 and 7 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on TH-cam recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.” At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. On June 27, 2018 Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. Angelina performed on America’s Got Talent The Champions which aired in January 2020. She earned the Golden Buzzer for her performance of her unique arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. As of now Angelina’s video has more than 10 thousand views, more than 1100 likes, and 228 comments. And you gained about 500 new subscribers. This tell me few things. Beside the fact that Angelina is a once in a generation talent, her fans are extremely loyal and will support her and anyone genuinely reacting to her. Angelina is an extraordinary young artist from Norway with over 140 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. Thanks for a very intelligent and interesting reaction…I am 78 years old and have not in my life heard a vocalist with such emotive, evocative techniques-smoky, raspy, breathy, belting, etc., etc. I am a fan of Angelina until I pass from this earth-she is an earth angel worthy of her name!
I too am 78 and Elvis had been my #1 favorite singer since 1957. I first heard Angelina when a local TV station here in Costa Rica (moved here from the States when I retired) played the video of her first performance on NGT. I fell in love with the voice of a 7 yo and 8 years later I still can not go a day without listening to her several times (like 20 -30 times)! Elvis long ago became my #2 best singer! Listening to Angelina is the best tranquilizer there is. And it is not just her voice and musical genius, it is the person she is! I truly believe her singing is not the only reason God sent her here at this time in history. Her latest cover says it all! I believe she will be a driving force in helping to "heal the World"!

She always picks songs that she feels. She channels the meaning and gives listeners an emotional jolt. Always her own but always respectful of the origin of the song. She is influenced by many artists but even at seven she always changed the songs to express her interpretation. Set aside the mind numbing vocal talent, her music IQ and her pace and timing are astounding. Many professional musicians are slack Jared when hearing her the first time. JUST SUBSCRIBED. As a vocal coach you could not have a better tool than the video diary of Angelina Jordan. You will be able to decipher her voice, techniques,inflections and all that good stuff that teachers discuss. Watching how her voice changes from year to year and what she learns as she develops. Many of us "Angels" have seen nearly every, if not every, video at least once and have a deep connection to this musical prodigy. The reason is we have seen her grow from a baby and it's like watching one of your own. Angelina is able to interpret, arrange and deliver a song that reaches deep in ones soul which is what a true singer should be able to do. Many young artists, as well as seasoned artists can make the notes but it is very rare to get that emotional connection and that is where Angelina excels. After you view "I put a spell on you", black and white version at 9.2 years old you can see how she improved at 10 years old with "FEELING GOOD, Live on the Stream Gir Tilbake". This performance to me is better than any singer I've ever heard perform it including all the great jazz artists. There are so many things that make Angelina special even beyond her voice. She has a unique ability to take the lyrics of a song, interpret those words and deliver the emotional content. She takes those emotions and pours them right into your soul.
I don't know what's up with the skipping thru parts of the performance. It actually comes off as recording glitches rather than intentional. Either way it's something that can hopefully be rectified in future videos.
@@elishaannmusic Pausing the performance and commenting/analyzing (also to avoid copyright) has never been an issue for me or most people. Talking over a performance or cutting out parts of a performance is where most people start to take issue. Keep in mind people are clicking on your video ( at least initially ) because it's a singer they already enjoy and are interested in a vocal coach or singers perspective so I don't think long and boring is really a factor ( unless it's a 4 minute song with 30 minutes of analysis).

Angelina’s voice and her total being is like an ocean wave or soft summer breeze that takes you in and rushes you to places you have rarely experienced. Your heart rate increases, you find it difficult to catch your breath, chills and shells engulf you. You are now addicted to Angelina Jordan.
Angelina consistently makes people cry just listening to her voice. I have seen it time and again even with experienced people doing reactions, who are embarrassed to break down on camera. She maintains her decision to sing barefoot, and when people are told why, it means something deep to us, we remember it. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She just turned 15yo and has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice! Angelina almost always borrows something of the original singer's style when she covers a song. What you heard here is her Adele voice. She has at least a dozen others, including, most notably, Amy Winehouse (to whom she is endlessly compared). That thing she did every time she sang "like" (except the first time, where she just used vocal fry) and "by" is something I think she only does when she's covering Adele. And can we talk about that run? It was unlike any run I've ever heard her do (I'm mostly talking about how she reduces the variation more and more as it goes on, until it kind of "collapses in on itself" - very unusual). As a vocal coach, I think you'll find Angelina Jordan's stuff to be an absolute goldmine for discussing vocal techniques, style, confidence, etc. And don't be afraid to go back to her earliest stuff in the public eye, at 7, 8, and 9. You might wonder how much technique and style you can get from a singer that young. Oh, you have *no* idea… [grin]
Isn’t she amazing? Listen to her version of Rhianna’s “Stay”. Bohemian Rhapsody, Yellow Brick Road, and Someone You Loved were done for America’s Got Talent. Elisha, You explained on Patreon that unlike some reactors you do not monetize from your reactions so you can actually play the entire songs through without interruptions at all for fear of being blocked. - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written five of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", "Million Miles", and "7th Heaven" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
- Updates: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist".

Thank you Rusty. I have been following Angelina for just over four years. More than many, but certainly not as long as many “Angels” particularly the Scandinavians who have had the opportunity to see her in person from the start.
It is only recently that I have been adding my two cents in the comments section (especially to reactor’s videos) and it is thrilling to share learned information for the soon-to-be Angelina Jordan fans just starting their journey.
I have noticed that there is a bit of information that is at best, specious, although shared with the love of Angelina’s talent at its root.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019.
Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English and Japanese.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7.
Angelina at age 6 and 7 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
Angelina is blessed with a deep voice with a beautiful rich tone and has always made her sound much older than her age. Many compare her voice to that of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is highly emotional which is very rare for a young girl and some people can’t accept that such a soulful voice can come from someone who has not had enough life experience. One vocal coach on TH-cam recently said, “If you have a song and want to have more emotion added to that song, have Angelina sing it.”
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on NGT was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
The next performance on NGT was her cover of Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. Angelina’s acapella performance is astounding especially for a girl who had just turned 8.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
On June 27, 2018 Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London.
Angelina performed on America’s Got Talent The Champions which aired in January 2020. She earned the Golden Buzzer for her performance of her unique arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody. She sang her cover of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in the Finals but didn’t make it into the final 5 contestants. There is much debate over how and why Angelina was eliminated.

Now,, let me tell you., you are in for a treat with this girl. A Norwegian music prodigy. Started singing from age 1 and a half for goodness sake !! Crazy right? . Has become a TH-cam sensation from the age of 7 when she entered Norway's Got Talent and WON . She is currently 15 years old. Angelina is an extraordinary young artist from Norway with over 140 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. She has performed everywhere from small weddings of a few people, to London's O2 stadium, and Seoul South Korea with 40,000 people. She performs at jazz festivals, conferences, and charity benefits. I too am 78 and Elvis had been my #1 favorite singer since 1957. I first heard Angelina when a local TV station here in Costa Rica (moved here from the States when I retired) played the video of her first performance on NGT. I fell in love with the voice of a 7 yo and 8 years later I still can not go a day without listening to her several times (like 20 -30 times)! Elvis long ago became my #2 best singer! Listening to Angelina is the best tranquilizer there is. And it is not just her voice and musical genius, it is the person she is! I truly believe her singing is not the only reason God sent her here at this time in history. Her latest cover says it all! I believe she will be a driving force in helping to "heal the World"!

She always picks songs that she feels. She channels the meaning and gives listeners an emotional jolt. Always her own but always respectful of the origin of the song. She is influenced by many artists but even at seven she always changed the songs to express her interpretation. Set aside the mind numbing vocal talent, her music IQ and her pace and timing are astounding. Many professional musicians are slack Jared when hearing her the first time. JUST SUBSCRIBED. As a vocal coach you could not have a better tool than the video diary of Angelina Jordan. You will be able to decipher her voice, techniques,inflections and all that good stuff that teachers discuss. Watching how her voice changes from year to year and what she learns as she develops. Many of us "Angels" have seen nearly every, if not every, video at least once and have a deep connection to this musical prodigy. The reason is we have seen her grow from a baby and it's like watching one of your own. Angelina is able to interpret, arrange and deliver a song that reaches deep in ones soul which is what a true singer should be able to do. Many young artists, as well as seasoned artists can make the notes but it is very rare to get that emotional connection and that is where Angelina excels. After you view "I put a spell on you", black and white version at 9.2 years old you can see how she improved at 10 years old with "FEELING GOOD, Live on the Stream Gir Tilbake". This performance to me is better than any singer I've ever heard perform it including all the great jazz artists. There are so many things that make Angelina special even beyond her voice. She has a unique ability to take the lyrics of a song, interpret those words and deliver the emotional content. She takes those emotions and pours them right into your soul.
I don't know what's up with the skipping thru parts of the performance. It actually comes off as recording glitches rather than intentional. Either way it's something that can hopefully be rectified in future videos.
@@elishaannmusic Pausing the performance and commenting/analyzing (also to avoid copyright) has never been an issue for me or most people. Talking over a performance or cutting out parts of a performance is where most people start to take issue. Keep in mind people are clicking on your video ( at least initially ) because it's a singer they already enjoy and are interested in a vocal coach or singers perspective so I don't think long and boring is really a factor ( unless it's a 4 minute song with 30 minutes of analysis).

Angelina consistently makes people cry just listening to her voice. I have seen it time and again even with experienced people doing reactions, who are embarrassed to break down on camera. She maintains her decision to sing barefoot, and when people are told why, it means something deep to us, we remember it. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (125+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She just turned 15yo and has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday , Nancy Sinatra , and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Amy Winehouse (and many others in between) and do them all justice!
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Angelina almost always borrows something of the original singer's style when she covers a song. What you heard here is her Adele voice. She has at least a dozen others, including, most notably, Amy Winehouse (to whom she is endlessly compared). That thing she did every time she sang "like" (except the first time, where she just used vocal fry) and "by" is something I think she only does when she's covering Adele. And can we talk about that run? It was unlike any run I've ever heard her do (I'm mostly talking about how she reduces the variation more and more as it goes on, until it kind of "collapses in on itself" - very unusual). As a vocal coach, I think you'll find Angelina Jordan's stuff to be an absolute goldmine for discussing vocal techniques, style, confidence, etc. And don't be afraid to go back to her earliest stuff in the public eye, at 7, 8, and 9. You might wonder how much technique and style you can get from a singer that young. Oh, you have *no* idea… [grin]

Isn’t she amazing? Listen to her version of Rhianna’s “Stay”. Bohemian Rhapsody, Yellow Brick Road, and Someone You Loved were done for America’s Got Talent. She knocked their socks off with Bohemian Rhapsody. The remaining members of Queen acknowledged her talent and loved her version of their classic. I’ve been following her for awhile and she only gets better!
