      Listen this is just more down to your stamina if your playing bad your running out of stamina so just do 1 hour of jogging a day to improve stamina

      My advice: icing for 15/20 minutes, partial hanging and light weight exercises straight after hanging.

    People are familiar with the term "fight or flight", however these are known as the three Fs, so there's an F missing. Our stress response is in fact "fight, flight, or freeze" and I think it is the freeze response that is the problem here. Some people are more prone to freeze than others. These are adaptive responses so we will adopt the one that has best worked for us or become our habitual response in past stressful situations. Another point that hasn't been addressed here is breathing. Breath holding can be another adaptive response to stress and holding our breath can cause a stress chain reaction because it also triggers an increase in the stress response. Slow deep breathing exercises between rallies and games can reduce tension and help us relax.

      There's actually a 4th and it's called fawn. Which is an attempt to cooperate, submit, or win over a threat to avoid 'hurt'. This is sometimes why good players do not play well against players who are a level below them. They can seek to appease others and avoid 'social hurt'. Imagine beating someone 21- 3. You'll probably come across as the bad guy. So you become excessively nice.

      @@divide_guilty5440 You're right, of course, about fawn. It's an interesting hypothesis, but I am not sure I agree with it. As a player who would be reticent about going on court and "destroying" a weaker player, I would argue that it was more about empathy and wanting to enjoy the game rather than wanting to be socially accepted?

    It’s crazy that this video came out just after my tournament yesterday. We have been training and prepping since last year. I was shocked when we lost our matches. Most of the points were freebies because of our mistakes. It was a disappointing day. It’s all part of the game, we lose and learn and thats how we get better. I will be more prepared with this video thank you.

    these are all good points about the kinds of errors you can make on or off the court that can affect the quality of your play. for me being consistent vs. inconsistent comes down to one thing: being present. consistency comes from the discipline of giving your focus completely to what is happening, or you could say, keeping it real. inconsistency comes from going with the mental, or the noise in the head. all the points you make are good ones, but it seems to me the root cause of inconsistency is always a lapse in being present. for example, nervousness always comes from having your attention diverted onto yourself. when your focus remains steady on the here and now there is simply no attention left over to put on yourself, and zero nervousness. in my view all errors come from not being present, and if there is anything else you are unhappy with in your performance, it is not an error, and the only way to fix it would be to work at it

    I started playing badminton early and one time I was a player at the university level..however due to funds i was unable to continue. Then I stopped playing for 19 to 20yrs. Just over 8 months ago in 2022...ageing around 41 years and I joined back playing with some training help to compete at some state level and club level tournaments. I get only a 2 hrs of weekend training. Which is mostly a multifeed shuttle.Hence i have to do more of self training to improve. I am loving this jouring of coming back and your videos are helping a lot and I sometimes watch them multiple times to understand it better. I started with learning the foot work then some serve tactics. How to hit good Smashes.
    Currently I am on Intermediate level.. But i want to move to Advance level. For which i have found that i make a lot of unforced errors during the game. Currently I play practice matches every alternate days in week and training on weekend. Last couple of days the double matches I played
    I lost 21-18 , 18-21 then 19-21. during each match I made approx avg of 10-12 errors..
    Now I have to work more on how to reduce my errors... Thanks for post lots of training vidoes they are really very helpful

    Another great video, thanks for the tips. For the most part I'm aware of all these tips. But doing them consistently and not going back to old habits takes some practice. If I had to compare myself to this video, I would say I've got the "not playing perfect" part as good as done (still a bit too powerful in my clears. And if I want to brag here, I can hit a backhand crosscourt clear. Which has given me a lot of points from surprised opponents thinking they could smash it). At this moment I mostly focus on my racket position, since I've switched to a more headheavy racket and noticed that my reaction time wasn't as it used to be.
    I usually struggle to get my nerves down. Mostly at the first couple of points. So I'm looking forward to that video.
    Love the content (and the jokes. Salad before a run ... LOL). Keep it up.

    You are so right about exercise of 25s, I had been sure I couldn't ever lift a shuttel off the floor with racket, but i did this kind of practice and learned it. Did it in 20s though.

    By following almost all of your videos gallery my game has improved alot in the recent time, especially the half court practice variety u demonstrated in ur other video.
    And the very important and very basic rule I try to follow is to keep ur brain, body muscles relaxed whether its a warmup, game play, cool down, practice, muscle strengthening etc. This keeping urself relaxed technique positively affects every aspect of the game.     Over the years I have been buying various racquets... I currently own 7 (different flex & weight distribution).
    So now I just make a point to get just 2 of them strung at any given time so it's easier to keep rotating between them.
    (I'm a recreational player)

I also do have speels when I fluctuate between an intermediate player to an absolute beginner :). I really want to learn this game but unfortunately, you guys don't have an academy where I live nor could I find a coach willing to teach. I am almost on the verge of giving up on the game....just waiting for a miracle :)

I'm still sometimes inconsistent, but at least now I can track it down to my daily habits. Before, none of it made any kind of sense to me and it was mostly the nerves acting up... and yes, a bit of a poor technique too!

But can you upload a video explaining what kind of off court training should we do to improve badminton, like strength training and high intensity workouts, how much running, how to build strength and speed and stamina. A proper diet for vegetarian people as well. Love your videos....💯

    Really like your last point! If you look at pros across the world of sport they do the exact same thing everytime they play!
    I only noticed a few years ago when someone mentioned Nadal's serve. The hair behind the ears routine, builds that consistency of here is my routine for a perfect serve.
