I actually used to say that I can also play like professional just by watching them in the devices , but after seeing this , pretty exhausted . Professional trains thousands of hours to get their very best for maximum one an half hour, these line I actually listened from one of the professional player.
@@Logmatin2509they’re probably not a native English speaker or yeah they could’ve used google translate. No shame in either not everyone speaks English.
By far the best video about Badminton training that I have seen. We are a bunch of amateurs and have always heard so many stories of how professionals train. And here we actually got to not only see it but also saw what it did to someone like CK. What a fabulous idea Greg and Jenny!! CK, you were also great. Thanks once again for this.
Two of my favorite badminton channels in one video!! This video really shows how footwork efficiency can affect your speed and as CK said, Greg does make it look easy. Thank you guys for all your uploads!
This is just a quality content…..you got to see a social experiment with a good insight…and with CK give a thoughtful comment and reaction for every session…its just make this video so wholesome…
Jenny and Greg your shots were so accurate throughout the whole video. Keep up the good work guys 👍. Hope to become a professional player one day 🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸
It's an insight on knowing how effortless you guys make it look for such a high pace shots and how quickly professional players can recover compared to us beginner, leading to a better shot production. Would love to see more videos on data comparison between professional players and casual player. Thank you for this video!
Just finished watching, could be one of my favorites from you two so far... CK YEW did awesome considering he is an amateur player!! Looking forward to watching his video now 😀
I absolutely loved this video ! It was amazing to see how you train and the difference between a normal player and professional. It also gave me some good ideas for training Great content as usual , keep it up 😎
Super awesome collab by two of my favorite UK badminton TH-camrs! Great training session all around. I've done some as an amateur myself in the past and our coach pushed us to 120% in those multifeed drills, so definitely can relate to how CK was feeling. Also, the recovery of a pro athlete is so much faster because they've been doing it for much longer, so they can sustain that high level quality of shot making for longer. I also noticed my stamina went up as a result of training and playing a lot consistently, and was always raring to start the next rally while other players who didn't get the same intense training were still gasping for air. Overall, great video and can't wait to check out CK's video on this!
I think something helps when watching pros and thinking you can do it yourself-something I tried to do is pretend that I am playing and moving AT THE EXACT SAME SPEED as the players on the screen-if you do that, it quickly becomes MASSIVELY impressive how fast, accurate, and consistent pro players are. You instantly recognize that you can’t do the same things at that speed.
I like how you guys didn't go easy on CK for him to have the real experience! Jenny yelling "NO BACKHAND" in the jump-out smash exercise really is the highlight for me
Thank you for the fantastic video and good job to CK who are hanging in there! I love the content! It not only is an eye-opener, but also gave us amateurs insights on the intensity and differences! Furthermore, we can take what we have seen to improve ourselves as well! Thank you for the great video!
It's crazy that CK's 5K run time is better than Greg's, however their speed and endurance was probably the biggest difference on a badminton court! What other differences or similarities did you find interesting in the video? Also don't forget to use this link for a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/badmintoninsight11221 (+ If you can cancel within this month you won't get charged!) 😄💥 Thanks for supporting us and our sponsors, and also thanks to CK for being a great sport throughout the video and trying a day of our training! 🏸
Well now I’m curious. What are both of your 5K times? Also the heart rates - to be comparable it would be more useful to know the percentage of maximum heart rate you’re working at. Directly comparing the numbers only makes sense if you both had the same resting hr and maximum hr - aka heart rate reserve. For example Lionel Sanders is a professional triathlete who famously can ride a bike at very high power outputs with a very low heart rate (below 120 bpm), but some of that is just genetics - he also can’t achieve a very high heart rate. Though seeing how quickly Greg can recover does give some insight into the fitness differences. I’ve found having a background in cycling and triathlon helps with badminton as many club players don’t have as much endurance in longer matches.
Greg's explosiveness and choice of how get to the shuttle made him faster. It was noticeable in the mid and rear court exercises. Greg just needed to do a side jump and "float" to the shuttle. Or he could shuffle his feet smooth and fast enough to get to a good position then jump to smash. Also Greg was more relaxed and extended in his form. He could easily stretch himself out then go back to ready stance. At the front court Greg knew what to do. Be aggressive and remedy the net shots if he really needed to otherwise strike everything down. For CK there was either fatigued or hesitant that was why he couldn't execute as fast or ended up hitting the net. Overall, CK still did a great job! Survival in itself is already an achievement! Hope to see more collabs from you guys!
I been watching you guys since 7-8 months ago. I started playing badminton 10 months ago and i fell in love with it. I train for 6 time a week and play 1 hour of match every time after I train. I have improve a lot thx to you guys video, advice, tutorials and common mistake fixes but obv my coach is the biggest reason for my improvement. I always thought pro have a same practice like we do but damm this is very intense. Thx for always helping us players out with your video.
Hi Jenny and Greg that was a great insight in what professional players have to do compared to us average players, keep up the great content that you allways surprise us with.
what a great video with all the stats.. i really needed such thing to compare myself with another pro..now i get to know about myself how one should try to be fit..tq for posting such videos and encouraging us to play with more quality..
So I'm getting into badminton again recently and I'm still fairly new to your channel, but I've already watched several videos from you and seeing Jenny in action at around 9:56 left me at awe. There's something about her movements and her form - it looks crisp, controlled but still explosive when needed.
This reminds me of the power skating clinics back when I played hockey when I was younger. Not afraid to say that I threw up during one of the clinics, but it was my first clinic after taking 12 months off due to a severe tibia & fibula fracture. I feel for you, CK!
@@BadmintonInsight Sorry to hear about your previous leg injury, Greg. Unfortunately compartment syndrome arose about 24 hours after my initial surgery, which led to permanent nerve damage (and pain) but I'm thankful that I still have the leg and can lead a normal life. I really admire what Jenny and yourself do for the badminton community!
Yes !! A collaboration video ! Honestly, if CK is an amateur, I'm definately a garbage one 🤣. Loved the video. I can't imagine Greg and Jenny doing this 5-6 times a week... CK is my hero ! He won my sub ! PS: I watched your semi final at the welsh open against the french pair, seeing Greg lying down with his hands on his face after match point totally broke my heart 😭Hope to see you win next time. Some nice examples of training sessions. I must say that the feeding is excellent. It's not easy to feed at the right tempo, speed and positioning of the shuttle.
Loved the video , thank you .. and thanks ck for going through the gruelling session 😀…gives us all an idea how much effort goes behind those easy looking perfect shots during a match 👏🏻
Just watched this video even though it's 2 years too late. Really enjoyed seeing your training and how it would overwhelm an amateur player. Glad I stuck to my day job😂
