@@BadmintonInsightHi, I’m an intermediate player from Indonesia. Would you please analyse my smash ? cause I have been struggle smashing against advanced player, they said my smash is weak 😢
Congratulations to Jenny and Greg for winning the English National Badminton Championships 2024 in the mixed (earlier today, Feb 4) !! And extra congratulations to Jenny, for also winning the women's double and for the extremely impressive win in the women's doubles final!
I've started badminton a couple of month ego after back in my college life, thats may be last year 2008 I've had lastly played, so i searched around TH-cam and i found this channel, its great to have these analysis, now I'm a few recognized player in our court 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️, keep analysing badminton for us, thanks a lot
This video was amazing! For me these videos where you showcase lower level players and then show the proper form after are extremely helpful to me! Thanks again for your great content ! Dan
Excellent examples and advice. When seeing Anna's action with the straight arm out toward the side, I immediately thought of the England player Lauren Smith's overhead action.
I recently recorded my games and noticed how my non-racket arm didn't look like when my coach demonstrated it. This video was actually quite helpful in improving my technique, love how you picked players of different levels. Bravo guys, love the content.
Great video. It really help to see what anyone is doing wrong in actual play, rather than just watch pro doing it right in practice (which is good too).
Excellent demonstration. Lots of time and effort put in, so evident. Worth it though. Well done G&J😊 keep going, hoping for more contents like this and technical aspects of the game.
I decided to do film analysis on my own smash and backhand techniques, having the habit to watch the pros made mistakes spotting so mistakes obvious. What is the most difficult I found was to UNLEARN the bad habits as they kept coming back but eventually things started to change with the help of corrective home exercises and match implementation. Thanks you so much for commenting on the fan club footage. It's nice to see everyone bringing their techniques to observe the variety of the problems and good points.
Yes that's definitely one of the most difficult things - technique becomes engrained in your muscle memory, so it's difficult to unlearn... Keep it up and you'll get there 💪 And thanks for the support!
Okay that was a clean catch 4:27 One thing I learned is to film yourself and watch it after the match. Couple of times I cringed how my body moves before, during, and after a smash so I try to correct it at home at practice and implement it on court. Great advice!
Another great video, after watching some videos of myself back, my non racket arm wasn’t completely up, look forward to implementing this when I play in the week
There are many tips in this video that are very subtle but make a big difference in power. Arm height and placement is a lot more important than I thought, great swimming analogy. I definitely miss time my jumps and hit the net, I now know why, haha. Super helpful video.
I love that the full length of your videos are always about the subject of the video. You get exactly what you want and nothing that you don't want! Keep on doing great videos! 😊 I would love to see a video about how to increase the accuracy when it comes to smashing!
I just realized that I was always smashing with the 'jump-out' rather than the full body smash . Thnak you Greg and Jenny and all the best for upcoming tournaments and also the All England
Jenny and Greg, thanks you so much for this useful lesson! The explanations nd comments on the screen are clear, so it's easy to understand all the key moments!
imo this is the best smashing tips of yours, thank you. not pointing/raising non racket arm up is becoming my habit, pure reflex, but better late than never. Cheers from Java.
Thank you Greg and Jenny, I still suffer from this smash inconsistencies where I don't completely switch my leg similar to Darren and I lose power/explosiveness which makes it easier for my opponent to defend. You guys brought up a good point to just consider hopping on a leg when smashing rather than jump smashing to get more consistency.
I saw you playing 2024 national championships finals ptmFk_8YqJc with such a determination in your eyes and realized having your own badminton channel you have to win every time. Yikes, you must be under great pressure.
After watching the video, I'd mastered timing, body rotation, and grip relaxation. All that was left was to unleash my ultimate smash... ...on the subscribe button!
Can you make a similar video for clear common mistakes? I struggle with hitting clears(round the head) when I am under pressure or taking it behind my body. This video was really helpful :)
Amazing and excellent video.. I hope there is another next video to explain analysis drop shot like this video to improve our drop shot.. Thank for this video
Could we have a more in depth video of pronation in forehand strokes? We've all been taught about the basic swing/stroke and proper grippings in most forehand shots such as smashes, clears or drop shots. But never been told what and how pronation works. I've always done my shot preparation/strokings properly but never noticed of having my forearm rotate or twist while I swing, now that I try to implement pronation in my forehand shots I'll always end up slicing the shuttle, almost having the same result as reverse slicing the shuttle as the strings face the opposite way.
Great tips, as usual! And so well explained and demonstrated. When you're changing something, mistiming the shuttle is actually a good thing as it shows you're doing it differently! BTW, heard you both commenting in Indonesia - great insights and really added value to the matches. One nit, though, please don't refer to games as "sets" - they're for tennis and badger homes!
Thank you very much for the comment Steve! Sorry we've missed it until now. Yes saying sets is a bad habit we have been trying to get out of!! Gill was also telling us off 😂
But only if you haven't already, or you'll only be subscribed half the time! Smash the like button every time, though, I do it before the video has even started!
If you could include videos on analysing backhand clears, smahses, nets or forehand clears, it would be useful for many people like me, who need to switch to unlearn my grips for those 😢
hey guys i am 11 yrs old my name is Ridwan Jaffer watching your videos has made me an intermediate and because of that i won a tournament 😀😀 THANKS A LOT
Could you please make a video about the breathing technique during the match, especially while the player is running around the court or executing a smash?
Really needed this video. Been having a bit of a slump from my smashes due to changing the technique and form. Thank you as always coach Greg and Coach Jen. P.S. I'm actually trying to copy Goh V Shem's Smashes but since I'm only 5'6' I'm looking for how Jung Jae Sung and Yuta Watanabe moves and smashes :)
We amateurs don't really know where our mistakes are. Thanks for pointing out & explaining. This really helps a lot ❤
Glad it was helpful! 😃🏸
Yeah I liked it a lot too. Hope you can do more of these kind of videos.

Yeah, I got a shock when I first saw myself on video - "do I really look like that?"
Always tape yourself on video. Watching a match afterwards gives massive insight!
