I think these new Health & Fitness devices from Samsung really have the potential to simplify the current mess of multiple devices and apps to monitor our health and fitness. I for one CAN'T WAIT for it!

The Ultra is not a copycat of the Apple watch, Samsung used that look & design YEARS ago on one of their watches, LONG before the Apple Watch. It was the Samsung Gear Sport.
Here is a fun fact for you Alex. The new Watch 7 Ultra design is not so new. And they didn't copy Apple either. Check out the Samsung gear sport and you'll know what I'm talking about. And thanks for giving us our daily dose of your awsome videos.

I think the orange strap makes it look like an Apple Watch because Apple launched that color first.

I just pre-ordered the Ultra for $224.99 with the trade-in of the watch5 pro and other promotional discounts. I might try the health features at first, but more than likely I will disable the health features and optimize the watch for extended battery use and hopefully get 5 days like with the watch5 pro when it's optimized for extended battery use.
Does does the galaxy ultra provide depth and temperature when you are swimming?

Samsung did a great job designing the ultra.
Samsung was first out of the gate with the square watch in 2013, and then Apple followed in 2015 with their square.

I am torn because I kind of really want the watch but I also have a Garmin. I have the tactix 7 AMOLED. I'm a truck driver and I love it on the road the LED flashlight the battery I'm wondering if it would make sense to wear that on the road and while I'm home wear the ultra to satisfy my LTE craving for when I'm out and about or running or whatever. Would that make sense or Am I just trying to justify buying this damn thing lol
I have pre ordered the Watch Ultra in Silver and the Ring in Matt Black, also will be swapping my Fold 5 for the Silver Fold 6 middle of next month, I can wait to have them all running together and complimenting one another, they are all premium products as per usual and the front screen on the Fold 6 looks amazing as does the inner.
just pre ordered galaxy watch ultra in white for A$534 only haha. spent all code and voucher plus trade in with 5 pro. got disappointed with 5 pro because of lagginess, so 5 pro need to go asap

Samsung really went back to 2017 and took that galaxy watch sport design and just made it bigger beefier and way better tech. Great job Samsung 🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾

I really like the look and design of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. However I think Samsung should have incorporated a scroll function into the quick button. Think they missed a trick there.

I pre ordered the titanium gray galaxy watch ultra. Super excited to be able to use it for diving.
It seems people are getting jammed up with the square body and round face. The way I see it is: it was an easy way to increase battery size over a round watch. Also, their code base is for a round face UI along with all the apps. Seems like the easiest way to achieve the battery increase with the least amount of work. The only missed opportunity I see is the rotating bezel being removed.

Cool ring Samsung need to sort out their batteries on their phones before worrying about any of this stuff. Theyve stopped android auto working on older phones terrible. Nice video as usual tho

I never realized that wearing a ring would interfere with gym stuff like dumbbells until you mentioned it, lol. Now I’m wondering if I should get one because I’d have to take the ring off when doing deadlifts or anything involving me holding something in my hand. Would have to wear the watch instead I feel like 🤔 now I’m on the fence about getting it, lol

yeah, it's the first thing I noticed with my current ring. But it makes sense, it's probably quite dangerous (and uncomfortable) to wear rings at the gym anyway, when I think about that getting stuck somewhere
Samsung continues to become a distance option for me. I was always Team Samsung till the last few years when I switched to the Pixel Ecosystem. Not a fan of the Watch Ultra design and Samsung Air Bud is a direct design copy of the Apple offering. As for the ring... its an interesting wearable tech.
I do love the Pixels too, but I appreciate how much Samsung is doing right now. I got to use the Fold 6 a bit more now and it's just such a complete device. Battery and cameras will be the things I want to test more in the next few weeks, but it's looking good. I do get the point on design copies though, but I heard someone saying that Samsung had the Watch Ultra design before the Apple Watch Ultra came out
Just sitting down to watch this. Not likely I’ll leave Garmin but I’m excited to see what Samsung can do because it only makes everyone work harder to make a better product. Also curious to see how you view this vs Garmin. Maybe you’ll alternate between the two? 😜

Technically they've already had this design with the Samsung gear sport. It literally is the same watch but bigger so it's really not that new.
As much as Samsung focuses on the health and lifestyle access of the ecosystem, I also wish they focused more on the working aspect of the ecosystem, in which improvements to the data linking between the tablet and the phone, and both the phones and tablets having powerful thunderbolt 4 ports. Especially the tablets need to have atleast the lower end version of snapdragon elite chips running their android OS to make it a powerful laptop replacement for 90% of casual users!
And improve the PWM refresh rate on their newer devices like they did with the s24 series, as I am PWM sensitive and looking at the display of flip 5 makes me feel nauseous and gives headaches. That said, Samsung is moving in the right direction for their ecosystem, and they are on their way to having a more powerful and well connected android ecosystem!
Personally, I couldn't care less about the ring, I won't be buying one. The watch ultra I'm super excited for and have a preorder. Finally, a capable smart watch with capable health and fitness tracking 😊😊😊

please research watch cushion design and galaxy watch gear sport and you won't be comparing the galaxy ultra to the mobile box on a wrist. same for orange strap - samsung did that way before apple. the holes in the band? well.... lol
Well, you shouldn't work out with any kind of ring. If anything gets stuck on it and pulls, it will rip off the skin of your finger.

I was willing to get the galaxy ring, the price killed it and for preorder of their new product with no attractive offer.
Price is not cheap, but when you consider it's a one-off price, it kinda makes sense over the competitors

Samsung ruined the elegant classic design on the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The watch 6 classic design should have been continued.

They've done this before with the Gear Sport. Before they even switched to the "Galaxy Watch" branding. This design is purely a necessity for functionality. Especially hardware wise, extra battery extra sensors etc. Like isn't it obvious enough?
This without the shape would literally be a Watch 6 Classic with Titanium and with even less battery life....like why, helloo? It's not a classic, so wait for the classic if you can't stop talking about the classic.
That's either gone to a biennial release cycle which I'm guessing the Watch Ultra will also have (the Watch 2 Ultra from apple suffered a terrible fate due to an attempted annual cycle) or comes out with the S25s. You see "Ultra" and talk about "Classic". What even is up with the tech world these days? Samsung literally calls this "the newest and most powerful addition to the Galaxy Watch portfolio", not a replacement.
Funny thing is the predictable reaction you guys would've had for a 7 Classic with all these Ultra specs, no less over 200 dollars more expensive than it's predecessor but with even worse battery life lmao. You would 100% be annoyed in his comments instead, had that been the case..things like "Samsung are locking the classic design behind a massive paywall, and even then, it even has worse battery life"😂

since i switched to apple in 2021 honestly all other smartwatches were ruined for me. and even when i tried the s24 ultra i just could never get used to the galaxy watch again, even in the galaxy watch ultra video by mkbhd you can visibly see the at least 1/2 a second of input delay that it has, the apple watch series 4 solved this issue and idk why but gestures and animations being poor also drived me away from the s24 ultra and even pushed me to connect an apple tv to my samsung smart tv.
plus samsun's sleep tracking which you seem to care about is unironically exactly the same as apple's and there are many videos on youtube showing that the apple watch sleep tracks more accurately than a galaxy watch but i dont blelieve them
and just the other minor inconviniences like the connection between my pc and phone not being as good as between my macbook pro and iphone and those little things
im sticking with apple but im glad samsung users are finally getting a taste of the apple watch ultra expereinced ive enjoyed since 2022, and i hope the competition pushes apple to do something else

To be honest, Samsung is just lazy when it comes to Z Fold and Flip 6. It's a pass as I will be sticking with My S24Ultra. Having said that I am blown away by the watch . Pre-ordered Watch Ultra and Buds 3 Pro on launch here in New Zealand. Sadly Galaxy ring is not coming to NZ market as yet.

I think you are over reacting. The watch or bands nor the ring keeps an accurate track of your calories or how much you burn accurately. If you care about your health, go to the gym and eat healthy or speak to a nutritionist. You do not need any of this gimics. If you want to know your heartbeat just count 10 seconds on the watch and count your pulses, then multiply by 60. Easy peasy. As I said, they are innacurate
I just had a stress test done yesterday, july 9th. My 5pro watch Had the exact same heart rate as the thirty thousand dollar E k g machine connected to me. While in the past, accuracy was not near a hundred percent, they have definitely come a long way. Galaxy ultra watch has 2 new L. E d light sensors for better accuracy, then prior models.

Sounds like someone who's not been keeping up with the industry at all.
Accuracy has been getting better and better through the yrs, especially recent yrs with lots of test to prove it, and this having even more of the newer advanced sensors makes it that much better.
This must've been how many people felt when phones starting working as compasses or had built in gyroscopes. They simply kept denying it. Things like " have you seen the size of the first gyroscope??" "How exactly can this replicate what that unit does, it's just inaccurate."
Actually keep up, then you can actually drop valid critiques, and spot the oddities. Not this lol...this is just being left behind and making claims

Nonsense. Everyone is different and has different needs. I lost 75 lbs to get back to a healthy 140lbs. And my Samsung watch was a big motivator. It challenged me to meet my daily goals. Smart watches are not a panacea but they are not gimmicks.
