I agree Doug, it's beautifully designed. The love hate reminds me of when the Enzo was released. I think the SP3 will be one of those iconic cars in the future that will be insanely valuable.
This is one of the best looking cars I've ever seen. I'm not even a big Ferrari fan, but this is gorgeous. The design cues from the SP4, Testarosa and LaFerrari are very nice touches too.
It’s over designed and ugly. The back end looks very fussy and the rear wheel arch looks Lamborghini like with the weird flattening. Just not classy , like a schoolboy drew it
Growing up, the p4 was my favorite car bar none. Seeing Ferrari finally give that car a revival like this is so awesome and really underlines how truly special the p4 was and always will be.
The rearview mirror does just that, changing the angle so you don't get dazzled! 🙂 PS: to open the engine compartment just unhook using the special mechanism that is placed aside of the left door! (once opened)
Wow. I’ve def been in the camp that Ferrari hasn’t seemed as special lately. Their styling in particular has been very boring to me. This totally brings it back. Love the swooping curves on the side and the Testarossa strakes on the back. Kind of like a greatest hits of styling cues of the 60s, 80s and 2000s. This Ferrari is finally dream car material again.
Check out the p80/c, a new (somewhat conceptual) one-off ferrari racecar that their entire new line is based off of, including the SP3. It got a lot of praise at FOS and ferrari day. Pretty sure that's the reason for the redesign for all the new ferraris.
@@citoante hardly anything in common with a Ford, and OTOH it draws from historic design details even though it’s not a pinin farina design. Anyone familiar with Ferrari’s design history will never mistake this car for a Ford.

Doug I didn't hear you mention the signature inspiration car that this car emulates most significantly, the Ferrari 250 P5 (1968). This explains the unique rear end.
What a stunning machine the Daytona SP3 is. Its sculpted bodylines remind me of ancient Roman sculpture with a thundering V12 engine. Absolutely incredible dream car. Lucky people who get to own one of these masterpieces.
Very serious review. I saw this car when it came out and loved it. I have the same thoughts. This is gonna go down as one of the best ever made. I can see values spiking like crazy 20yrs from now
I'm going to university hoping to get into auto design, and this car is something I will base work off of for decades to comes. It is so perfect, and each element of its design is gorgeous on its own
To clarify the additional costs on the window sticker, that's generally for air freight. As I've had 2 cars delivered via air freight with Ferrari, that's where the cost of it is listed on the window sticker. Considering the price tag of 2.3m, I'd imagine they flew the car from Italy.
I totally agree. Hands down the best looking Ferrari in years. Given the engine, and the limited numbers, I see this car having a value of ten to fifteen million in the near future.
I don’t know California well, but you’re brave to drive a multi million car amongst fast food, liquor stores and laundromats. Great content as always Doug! 😊
Fun fact. The most powerful engine that Ferrari installed in any car ever. That would be one of V10s from 2000's installed in F1 cars. they went to around 860bhp in a racing mode and close to 900bhp in qualifying mode. Nevertheless, having this engine with this output in Daytona SP3 is something that deserves a praise.
Not really true. The 80's F1 cars were more powerful. The 1986 Ferrari F1 car made 850 HP in race trim, and about 1250 HP in qualifying trim. The more you know...
I feel like what made a Ferrari special was the high end interior materials, the use of v12s, great exhaust notes, and aggressive styling. The interiors kinda got boring when you look at the modern models.
Love the camera wobble on the parked engine rev (VROOM VROOM) segment. I love that Doug brings the same gusto to a Kia as a $2 million supercar, but I also love the times that it IS something ridiculously special unobtanium like this one. I think I can actually see the fear in his eyes driving by Quick-E Marts on regular, chuck-hole'd roads.
23:23 Disappointed he didn't mention that the design for the rear strakes was inspired by the Ferrari P5. It's one of the most identifiable callbacks to classic Ferrari designs that they featured on the car.
Amazing machine 😍 If I had that sort of money, SP3 would be on top of the 'cars to have' list. Indeed, it must be incredible for the owners to see its reflection, as it rolls down the street, and then realizing it is your car and you are driving it
Love Doug’s subtle flex when he’s talking about how it stacks up against the prior top flight Ferrari supercars and he showed the all the TH-cam screenshots of his own videos with those cars. 😂
24:22 you can access the engine, that entire rear panel opens up, there’s a latch on the door arch near the seat! I don’t know how Doug got this wrong..
He does that on purpose so ignorant people like you would comment about it. More comments = better for Doug. Are you new to this channel or completely new to the concept of making money on youtube?
His reaction to the location of the engine's inlets (on top surface of thick doors and far forward of the engine) also indicates a miss by Doug: That exact same configuration was used on Ferrari's 1971-73 312PB. Its doors also flipped forward, revealing the air tunnels that were integral with the doors. I'm surprised he missed (or doesn't know) that bit of very relevant history.
The SP3 is the most exciting design that Ferrari has done in years. The key fob is also cool. I am totally in love with this car. I will never own one, but I’m glad they made it
I genuinely think this is, hands down, the most beautiful Ferrari ever made. This car looks absolutely incredible and i've been in love, and obsessed with it, since I first saw it. Might possibly be my personal "Most beautiful car ever made".
You were totally in my city, literally a few blocks away. Way to cool and I’m pretty sure I saw you driving later that day! I remember seeing the rear of it and just being mesmerized by it the shape but was confused as to what I had seen. Wow, this is a beauty. And cool stuff that it was near by me. Keep up the good work.
The fact that Doug has access to all of this cars...wow. this car is stupidly beautiful. I've been eagerly waiting for it. Ferrari businessmen are doing very interesting things.
Absolutely awesome looking car, it's almost like something Hot Wheels would make. 10/10 despite the mirrors. I wouldn't want to drive it in public ever, anyone in an SUV will not be able to see your front turn signal and probably wreck you because they didn't know you were turning. 50 pts in the weekend category makes sense, but I think Doug's being generous giving it 6 in features for daily...I mean, other than the customizable digital gauge cluster, it doesn't have much.
Despite the low volume I respect Ferrari for putting such a big engine in to production. It is refreshing having a 12 in а world that goes 4 or none at all. As for it's design im on the opposite side of the spectrum. The curves are marvelous they're sexy but then everything else is just not all that appealing imo. To put it in to perspective i would compare it to a stock X-th gen Honda CiVic type R. Good attractive design but to make it sporty and edgy for the Type R they ran wild with the cuts and creases and all the extra detail that they forgot when to stop. But hey when it comes to cars usually the ugly ones are sought after the most. Lets see how many of these can survive for 10-20 years
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 may not be a super model, but it is a curvy weirdly gorgeous girl that you can't stop watching her details and precioness, that girl you think, she is not like the others, she is special!
It would be awkward if a 2 ml. + Car had fake vents. If i had the money id buy an NSX type S and the X-th gen CiVic and keep the other 2ml. feeling good about my life.
The rearview mirror should convert to a front camera when you flip the switch. This way you dont have to worry about pulling into parking spots being so low
Been watching Mr. Demuro since his Ferrari Modena 360 video. I still think that's one of the funniest videos he ever made. He was nervous and very shy while trying to see peoples reaction to his Ferrari which kinda failed cuz people just didn't notice it. 😅😅😅
Absolute work of art. And I really hope OEMs take note of the gauge cluster here so we can finally drop the cheap, lazy interiors with floating and/or enormous centre screens that are so prevalent nowadays. This interior is the perfect example of how you can have an actual classically beautiful designed dash with everything properly integrated, AND modern features. I need an ugly giant centre screen; just put it in a nice main cluster like this. A small slit screen in the middle for climate info like the EV6, or old VWs would be fine though; everything else should just be in the main cluster.
You should add a "right to repair" category to your DougScore. Just a simple pass or fail considering if you could open up the hood or not. No, that's called the limits of rear wheel drive traction. A C8 Z06 is nowhere compared to this when they are both above the initial traction limits. 0-200kph the Z06 takes 10.3 seconds. This does it in an absurd 7.4 seconds. Nearly 3 seconds faster. Completely different level above. And this isn't some mass produced plastic American car. It's a hand built Ferrari. Meaning in 10 years it'll probably be worth double what the lucky few paid for it brand new while the Corvette is worth less than half as much. Making the Ferrari quite a bargain.....
@@pgr3290 see what you are saying on performance and exclusivity, however for an additional $2.3M those 3 seconds (to everyone except for those who actually will own one of this Ferraris heck most of us will never even see one in real life) would seem such a small performance/$ difference it doesn't really matter. Sure the C8 Z06 is not the same build quality/materials, but it's affordable and people won't be afraid to daily drive it..which makes the Z06 performance for the dollar a better deal no matter the time frame.
@@namegoeshere2903 If you can pay $2.5m for a car that'll be worth $5m in 10 years then you would. Doug! really awsome review, I love the car, and love your excitement about it, but i can't believe you missed the POP UP HEADLIGHTS of the daytona SP3, that could easily be the best throwback old school detail of the entire car!

I'm a huge fan of fender mounted mirrors. No one makes em anymore and it's just such a cool design
Really wouldve appreciated a more thorough talk through that 50/50 Weekend score. For the first car go manage it, wouldve been nice to hear exactly what made them all perfect 10's
I too raised an eyebrow at that. I mean, it's the Doug score so who am I to comment but he did mention the design wasn't universally loved. I would think it'd drop a point for Styling. 🤷♀

I was so confused when he said 2.2 million is supercar money territory lol
He’s very loose on terms, I hate when he calls a liftback design (Audi S7) a “hatchback”

Same idk how people see this as an ugly design
This is one of the best looking cars I've ever seen. I'm not even a big Ferrari fan, but this is gorgeous. The design cues from the SP4, Testarosa and LaFerrari are very nice touches too.
The concept idea for this car is a winner but the final design looks god damn awful for me. I prefer the design of the De Tomaso P72 any day.
Big same. Not a Ferrari fan but this one is INSANE.
It’s over designed and ugly. The back end looks very fussy and the rear wheel arch looks Lamborghini like with the weird flattening. Just not classy , like a schoolboy drew it
@@AnkaraAnkaraMessiMessiMessiyep. Of course the price gonna be insane as well. $1.050.000.
Car ugly AF. Looks like A kit car
Growing up, the p4 was my favorite car bar none. Seeing Ferrari finally give that car a revival like this is so awesome and really underlines how truly special the p4 was and always will be.
The 1967 330 P4 truly is right up at the top of the list.
This car is more Ford than Ferrari.
@@citoante hardly anything in common with a Ford, and OTOH it draws from historic design details even though it’s not a pinin farina design. Anyone familiar with Ferrari’s design history will never mistake this car for a Ford.
@@timomomomo969 either way, its ugly. You might be technically right, but does that excuse this car? From which ever side you look at it there is something irritating on it. A pet peeve of mine is when backlit, capacative buttons are referred to as touch screens. When they are not screens.
Doug I didn't hear you mention the signature inspiration car that this car emulates most significantly, the Ferrari 250 P5 (1968). This explains the unique rear end.
The LaFerrari is my favorite of the Hypercar Holy Trinity but the idea of a non-hubrid LaFerrari is so great! I really like this! 🙌🏻

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 for me accelerated even faster than Nimrod C2/P2 LeMans Race Car.
i'd take the laferrari over the sp3, any second of the year tho (not a reply)
What a stunning machine the Daytona SP3 is. Its sculpted bodylines remind me of ancient Roman sculpture with a thundering V12 engine. Absolutely incredible dream car. Lucky people who get to own one of these masterpieces.
Doug is the kind of guy to sit in the car looking at menus but keeping the car in race mode, for ultra performance while standing still
Very serious review.

I don’t know California well, but you’re brave to drive a multi million car amongst fast food, liquor stores and laundromats. Great content as always Doug! 😊
I noticed that too - a rather odd juxtaposition of an astronomically expensive item in what appears to be a not so great part of town.

💯💯
Not really true. The 80's F1 cars were more powerful. The 1986 Ferrari F1 car made 850 HP in race trim, and about 1250 HP in qualifying trim. The more you know...
One of the most beautiful Ferraris and vehicle in general ever imo
I agree, it's my personal favorite in the modern day but the 288 GTO is still my favorite design
I don't really like the SP3, however, the 288 GTO Evoluzione is a beautiful car@@wingnutmcspazatron3957
Yes, it's a mash-up of 330 P4 and 250 P5 Berlinetta Speciale inspiration.
You can add that info and we all read here, no need for disappointment

Another stunning design by Ferrari! That key fob looks like a lighter and that's okay, too.
I'll bet it has 'Zipponi S.p.A.' on the bottom. 😅
Amazing machine 😍 If I had that sort of money, SP3 would be on top of the 'cars to have' list. Indeed, it must be incredible for the owners to see its reflection, as it rolls down the street, and then realizing it is your car and you are driving it
I am just going to go ahead and call it now. This will be Doug’s car of the year for 2023.
This might be the car of the decade, truly incredible. I see these being as revered as the GTO/F40/F50
I do love it. The strakes are a bit much in the rear, but it’s also bold and elegant.
Love Doug’s subtle flex when he’s talking about how it stacks up against the prior top flight Ferrari supercars and he showed the all the TH-cam screenshots of his own videos with those cars. 😂
Doug you missed mentioning the incredible headlight action. I adore the theatre of this car, its my new favorite car behind the F1.
24:22 you can access the engine, that entire rear panel opens up, there’s a latch on the door arch near the seat! I don’t know how Doug got this wrong..
Doug, you are right on the money . Beautiful Design . unique and a Homage to the Ferrari heritage.
That exhaust note was immaculate. We can only hope that V12 production will be granted a few more years of life
The SUV has a V12 and so will the 812 replacement
Doug forgot to mention it's biggest quirk, the headlight's pop-up cover. How dare you miss that quirk Doug!
💯💯
He didn't mention the 9600rpm redline too! When this car debuted it was the most powerful and highest revving N/A V12 in existence!
My heart actually broke when I heard that this is the last Ferrari with a V12. I really hope the future of cars isn’t lame
The SP3 is the most exciting design that Ferrari has done in years. The key fob is also cool. I am totally in love with this car. I will never own one, but I’m glad they made it

Absolutely awesome looking car, it's almost like something Hot Wheels would make. 10/10 despite the mirrors.
I wouldn't want to drive it in public ever, anyone in an SUV will not be able to see your front turn signal and probably wreck you because they didn't know you were turning.
50 pts in the weekend category makes sense, but I think Doug's being generous giving it 6 in features for daily...I mean, other than the customizable digital gauge cluster, it doesn't have much.
it looks like one of those little fantasy matchbox cars from the 90s made real. It's so beautiful
I think they knocked it out of the park! It looks like a fresh new design. I think it’s one of their best designs.
Reminds me of a modern 330 P4 imo
Lets see how many of these can survive for 10-20 years
To put it simply, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is simply gorgeous.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 may not be a super model, but it is a curvy weirdly gorgeous girl that you can't stop watching her details and precioness, that girl you think, she is not like the others, she is special!
At least the Ferrari doesn't have fake vents.

I just love how the revs are so loud and powerful, they almost knocked the camera down😂
Honestly, if I won the lottery, I'd be getting this. Absolutely love that styling.
Me too, Huayra too!
I actually love those fender mounted side mirrors. They're easier to look at.
SP3 is stunning in Blue!
Personally I believe this is the most beautiful modern Ferrari ever made
Funny how revving the V12 almost broke the camera 😄

At 0-60 ~ 2.6s we are reaching the pinnacle of performance in a lot of cars..C8 Z06, nipping at its heels for quite a bit less $
Nobody cares about 0-60 that’s the most irrelevant performance statistic
@@namegoeshere2903 If you can pay $2.5m for a car that'll be worth $5m in 10 years then you would. Comparing it to a cheaper American car on the basis of performance is missing the point, and comparing it on price is missing the point.
