Getting a true 60w USBc charger will help with this big time, connected my dongle into cig socket with both 30 and 100w USB PD ports and iPhone charge from 10% to 70% in 20-30 mins!
@@jageerdarjag3883 97% road noise and 3% on take off slight electric wind up noise, at speeds 40km or higher road noise is more apparently than electric motor noises - the 1.5L engine when running is reasonably quiet as well surprising quiet!
I would say this is going to be anywhere from 5L/100 eco hybrid and around 6.5L/100 in sports hybrid, normal drive mode would be somewhere in the middle. Mix of both 70-80km/hr driving plus 100km driving 50%
First of all I reckon you probably need the drowsy driver settings with the amount of driving and lack of sleep you get! Thinking of getting the Dynamic as it seems to give better mileage in EV mode, (We will do mostly around town driving averaging less than 100km per day) did you try that car and if so why did you go for the premium? Also did you get a deal on the plug in higher rated charger? Lastly thank you for putting up your video's, hope BYD are good to you
I purley went with premium because I am enthusiastic mechanic and highly appreciate the all wheel drive traction in the amount of driving I do, especially in wet and slippery conditions. People don’t realise how much more traction you have in those conditions especially when it’s highway speeds and lots of bouncy and cornering roads, the extra power is just a benefit. I have test driven the EV Seal Premium and Performance but needed a hybrid for my demands (and odd unexpected drives). For your purpose 100km a day I would certainly say dynamic is a good idea and the current cash back makes it more attractive - also since the petrol engine is NOT turbo in dynamic less things to go wrong in the future :) it’s my opinion that hybrids should not run turbos due to on and off frequency but that didn’t outweigh my reason for not to have all wheel drive. The wall 7kw charger came to me as a deal (like the current cash back on dynamic) just another offer, the wall chargers are only really $500 RRP and around $500-$1500 installed depending on switchboard to charger install location.
Managed to push apk files to the car, seems to still work. Wondering if it’s a long term solution though as I imagine they will try to block this at some point.
So this is turned on by default, my first video at the end showed this briefly - it’s not too bad but I can’t use it city areas at night, it certainly turns on and off as it should, but I feel like it turns it on in places not needed - no cars in sight so no issue there but it just seems annoying. In the country, long highway drives I can see it useful. My deciding factor has to turn it off, until I am on a long night country drive.
Because I randomly with very little notice may need to drive 200-300km and can’t rely on charge, or charger access. Time is money for me, I went with sealion for this reason instead of the 500km EV seal. This suits our local infrastructure for ev charging and my needs a lot better than pure ev only.
@@ahmedalsadi0010 I think the dynamic has that range, the premium is more like 900km-1,000km range in real world driving with 1 full charge and 1 full tank. 110km/hr cruising will reduce that, even more.
Once I have my level 2 charger in at home, I will do test over 1,000km in the way I use it, logging each charge and day use and break it down into a very short video, hoping next week!
@@AllTerrainActionEV an average daily/weekly fuel consumption video would be helpful . Thanks! I want to see if they claimed mileage is at least somewhat accurate.
Haven’t done a focused test on this yet. It seems that no matter what a full tank of fuel always shows 1000km range but the way it goes down seems to show the range based on % of fuel not based on consumption efficiency. I’ve done alot of electric charging the only real way to know this for sure would be, full tank 1 charge and go for literally a 1,000km drive and see which I can’t see me doing anytime soon. Best I might be able to do is full tank, full charge go for a 200km drive single charge then back to servo and fill to click again calculate how much consumption of fuel used then do a mathematical calculation to determine fuel used for that distance it might give an indicative estimate.
Good one! Keep the vids going. Did you report that 99/100 issue to BYD, surely they have to do something about that - can’t have that flickering on countless hours on Aussie roads, it’d drive you crazy
Seal owner here interesting, my seal doesn’t have the 99/100 speedo issue I think it’s a simple software. It looks like the software is the same as in the Seal. But in China they have newer software, which is significantly better. I hope the BYD shark and sea lion 7 comes with the newer software
@@ricosun yeah i'd say software too, I envy Sealion 07 design - but pure EV wouldnt work for my lifestyle right now let alone our localised infastructure for charge stations - in saying that... the future holds postive for pure EV!
@@AllTerrainActionEV yeah pure EVs are great for city driving or trips within car’s range. Anything longer I don’t bother. Had a friend come over from overseas took him down to the great ocean Road for a two day trip. Lucky I didn’t take the EV because the charger that I had to use was broken. And that was the only fast charger in town. The infrastructure is simply not ready.
Drop the tyre pressure, for whatever reason byd pumps then to 46psi, we had two flats at once in the first 6 months of owning our seal. (Continental tyres)
We ended up with the budget Giti tires, running at only 38 psi all around. Unfortunately, the culprit turned out to be a large screw, which isn’t too surprising since I frequently drive onto worksites for WiFi infrastructure assessments. My prediction on where I picked up the puncture :'(
Thanks for sharing you experience. Great insights. Please put another video if possible at 10k kms if possible.
For sure :) 👍
Good vid bro. Subbed. Consider this will be available in Indonesia next time
Looks awesome mate
We need these good PHEV, even more than EVs. Please send them to the UK too.
for the phone charging, i also found that its kinda slow. bought a type c charger instead and used the one in the back seat, charged much quicker.

Question. How is the in cabin noise? Do you hear the electric motors at all? Or is it road noise only?

@@AllTerrainActionEV Thank you very much

If you connect everyday,Why did not you buy Only EV model?

Can it reach 1200 km on high ways if you keep running it on ev once the battery charged if the engine charged the battery everytime

Not really fancy the old style driver front dashboard! Lost the feel of driving EV!! 😂
I am actually a huge fan of it, how much the car feels like a l traditional car is a breadwinner in my view.
