Good channel and enjoying the content, but re your comment on the fuel gauge range being % not kms, I disagree. I just filled up my Dynamic - its was showing 585 kms of range. The car took 24.8 litres of fuel. I had done 400kms in HEV mode since the last fill up. So 400/24.8=16.13 kms per litre, which is 6.2 l/100 - thats my fuel usage rate. So, before re-fuelling I had 35.2 litres left in the tank (60-24.8) and the suggested range was 585kms. 585/35.2 = 16.61 kms per litre, which is about 6 l/100kms - so the range the car is predicting is very similar to the consumption achieved since the last fill-up. Hope this make sense.
We need to conduct further testing. Here’s what I’ve observed with the premium version. Could you confirm if your version behaves similarly? In our tests, we found that a full tank always shows a 1000 km range, regardless of driving history or style. No matter how we drive, the range consistently decreases in a linear fashion-905 km, 904 km, 903 km, 901 km, 900 km, and so on. This could indicate that the gauge is functioning as you described. However, we’ve never been able to reach a 1000 km range in practice. I’ll pin this comment to the video for others to see, as different firmware versions or dynamic calculations may cause discrepancies from results. More testing is needed to verify our version of events. For example, when the range shows 900 km remaining, can we fill 6 litres before the tank is full? Similarly, at 500 km remaining, can we fill close to 30 litres? These tests could help clarify things. I am in no way saying you are wrong and this just means we need to do further experiments to determine whats going on here, thank you for sharing your input here!
@@AllTerrainActionEV With the Dynamic the range goes to 1100 after a fill-up (lighter car and no turbo). Thats a theoretical fuel use of 5.45l/100km. With the scenario I wrote about, it was saying 585 range left, I had done 400kms on HEV, so the car had adjusted its initial range forecast from 1100 to 985. So I think the SL6 is monitoring average fuel use and adjusting the forecast accordingly - btw my car was carrying a 5.3 metre sea kayak for all the 400kms on mainly highways, so I think 6.2l/100km is pretty good.
I have been following all your sealion 6 videos and I am loving it. I am collecting my awd version next week. Your real world reviews has helped me a lot. It is very hard to find real world reviews for a newly introduced car especially when it is a Chinese brand, lots of negativity around still but its their choice. Have you tried the BYD phone app yet? Could you please make a quick video based on that? There is only 1 video relating to the app and it would be great if you could please take us through the app. Cheers mate!
@@VicBear-u2w yeah using the app extensively you’ll be heavily disappointed there if you compare to other vehicles - but basics exists. 1 huge annoyance no sentry auto lock or any option to allow an auto lock.
I was about to order this week, but I heard about the lift, which changes a lot. Bigger trunk, better suspension, extra led lights on front, and some infotainment update. Now I have to wait and ask Dealer when it will be available :/

Nice work mate, this style of real-world owner reviews is so much more valuable than a car salesperson reviewing the car. Keep up the videos mate.
Hear hear well put! Really gives a good insight into the practical benefits and flexibility of the options.
Hope you can upload a guide on how to sideload apps 😊
