Just bought a Ibiza FR with the 1.0 115 engine, cannot believe the performance of the engine and it’s all round ability. Great VFM and great fun, build quality is excellent..
We ran one for 9,000 miles (including a drive to Barcelona and back) and it averaged 43.5mpg. www.parkers.co.uk/seat/ibiza/hatchback-2017/long-term-reviews/seat-ibiza-hatchback-fr-10-tsi-115ps-6-speed-manual/
VFM? I’ve just got an Ibiza 115 fr sport and I’m in love, from climate control to the CarPlay to the sound of the engine, the in gear pull, the comfort, the size of the boot
The best, most balanced review I have seen so far. Only one observation and it applies to most reviews, is that long term reliability is never mentioned.
Didn’t say what the engine capacity or BHP was of the Ibiza, just that it was bigger than the Fiesta. I’m a Ford fan but to me the Ibiza looks better - the integration of the touch screen on the dash is far better
Fiesta offers good amount of leg room in the back? Are you kidding the viewers or are you just short people? Fiesta is way more cramped than Ibiza, which could serve very well as a family car.
I absolutely hate the way the infotainment screen sticks out of the dashboard of the Fiesta. It looks like it doesn't really belong there and is just patched on as an afterthought. The Ibiza also clearly wins on exterior design. The sharp lines gives it a more masculine look, and as a male human being that appeals to me.
Not sure about the new rear end of the Fiesta, looks slightly out of proportion with the rest of the cars nice aggressive lines. I think the Ibiza is a much better looking car, and residual-wise I imagine it’s a better long-term investment too.
For a family, the Ibiza may be the better bet; but for the driver, the Fiesta wins. Looked at the Fiesta 140 ST-Line vs the Ibiza 115FR and went for the Fiesta; great to drive and worked out slightly cheaper too for me on similar specs. Design is all subjective, so if you don't like one of them just go with the other; you won't go wrong either way.
i think tarsu32 is right, the ibiza looks more sporty and upper class like the leon. That makes him look less like a typical small car like the fiesta.
I don’t know which to get out of the ST line 140 Bhp and Seat Ibiza fr 1.5. I’ve seen 2 ST lines on an 18 plate. One at 11.1k and another at 11.5k. I find the seat 1.5 tsi evos hard to come by. The nearest one is over a 200 mile trip away and comes in at 12k which might have made my mind up. 🤔
Ibiza is just superior packed with technology much more modern better gearbox and without the Engine problems like is known for the fiesta that burst on fire!
I'm probably a bit late to this video.. but I'm comparing the Ibiza fr 115hp and fiesta st line 140hp (around 2018-2019 units). Which one you would prefer? I already checked your web review 👍
I have now watched a few of these videos reviewing the Seat Ibiza from different channels on You Tube, and a lot of them describe the Ibiza as a "very grown up car ". What does that mean exactly? To my mind it sounds like a good thing, but in reality I have no idea.
My Ibiza from 08 is 20 times better then the 15 fiesta that I drive for work. 120k on the seat 50k on the fiesta, would never go for the fiesta if they didn't pay the fuel and parking for me :3
What is this review obsession with the plastic who drives around rubbing the plastic, I’ve never had a passenger rub the plastic either. I had a test drive in both and the road noise in the fiesta was unbelievably loud. How can the Fiesta be described as “more fun” when every pensioner in the country is driving one.
You would be MAD to go for the fiesta over the ibiza...cost the same but 1.0 3 cylinder vs 1.5 4cylinder!!! Brand new platform and info system is top...masive boot and so much more space at the back seats...and in the blue the ibiza looks amazing...red fiesta looks cheap and plastiky for me...the new polo and this ibiza are way ahead of the competition.
That's just underrating the power from the 1l cyl engine, the Focus ST was a 2.3l once, now the RS is a 2.3l. The old 1.3l rotary engine from the RX8 produces more power than a MK2 Focus ST, can you see where this is going? It's not really a strong point of comparison. I mean there's a reason Seat stopped selling the Ibiza with the Evo 150 FR option.
interesting comparison; it's so good seeing such a handsome man handle a car so well, and as car reviews said below both look sexy; but damn the driver is on a par with the sex level, great review, get that tom guy on here more often.

JamesyBoyJim Its going to come as seats new sub brand cupra and will be quite a bit upmarket if the images are right cfk look everywhere leathered dash and some freakishly sexy rims (also carbon grey metallic is the sexiest color available on any car)
mk7 had genius exterior design back in 2008. This one when you look at it's just meh... especially if car dosen't have bigger wheels. It just looks already outdated, like it's ready for facelift.
hell yes... look at the new ST... that rear defuser is a fkn dogs breakfast... looks like a mess and the current mk7 FiST looks so much better even now in 2018...
"Eye-Bee-Tha"... dayyyum. Either pronounce it Spanish or English! What about calling Seat seat - like the thing you sit in? Oh, we're going to eye-bee-tha.... woah... back to the island! 🙄
Yes completely agree. I have recently bought the new Fiesta vignale. Despite the higher purchase price, the monthly repayments for the Vignale are only £15/month due to the higher residual price compared to the Titanium. It is much better equipped and the 125bhp engine coupled to the 6 speed gearbox is brilliant to drive. I did road test the Seat but it was nothing like as good as the Fiesta.
Parkers in the city? I think %90 of buyer use super mini cars in the city. They look for more room inside and boot space, and stylish design. Thats why i choose new ibiza over fiesta and bought one.
Speak for yourself! I've got my second supermini and I want to enjoy it outside city, handling is important criteria for me. I don't care much about design or trunk, lol.
Fanrabbit Yeah, I have a Seat Leon Cupra 280 and whenever I look at the engine there are VW and Audi logos everywhere. Even in the cabin you can see VW logos inside the glove box and other places.

GOT the Ibiza this week, awesome car

Jez Stokes Seat Ibiza FR 1.5 TSI 150hp
Hi Jez, it is indeed the 150hp 1.5 TSI EVO engine.
Benjamin Burkhardt Yeah and also Consumes just as much fuel in normal driving and more if you floor it
I guess torque is a factor and the Ibiza has more especially the 1.5 evo
@@ParkersTV have they stopped production of the 150bhp version?
This is the best comparison. Side by side. And yes the Ibiza looks more integrated
The Fiesta’s daytime running lights remind me of swimming goggles for some reason.
We’re not going to be able to unsee that.
Parkers haha sorry 😂
they do aswell lol
Fiesta offers good amount of leg room in the back? Are you kidding the viewers or are you just short people? Fiesta is way more cramped than Ibiza, which could serve very well as a family car.
100% true

I've had fiestas since 1992 lol. The mark 8 is the best one they have done
I agree ..fiesta is such a better car than that ibiza there 1.0 litre engine on the ibiza is shocking
The Ibiza looks so much better than the Fiesta. More of a car

Fiesta definitely quicker, Ibiza arguably has more grown up interior. Depends what your priorities are really!
Fiesta all the way the 1.5 they do in the ibiza produces 150bhp...the 1.5 fiesta 3 pot produces 197bhp 😉
Seat for me its more grown up. Please tell me that touch screen drops down into the dash on the fiesta?
Afraid not. Audi A3 infotainment screen it is not!
Great review guys. Both cars look good but James looks better :-)
Thanks Andy, glad you enjoyed the review.
Ibiza way better in all aspects !!
I have now watched a few of these videos reviewing the Seat Ibiza from different channels on You Tube, and a lot of them describe the Ibiza as a "very grown up car ". What does that mean exactly? To my mind it sounds like a good thing, but in reality I have no idea.
basically you wouldn’t look like a boy racer in a seat, you would look more mature within a seat compared to a fiesta
Why are british people saying ibitha instead of ibiza? just curious...
Because we’re trying to be cultured and sophisticated, but obviously failing miserably.
so no particular reason other than being diffrent from rest of the world? :D
Søren Jakobsen like Americans but more likeable.... sorry if I offend someone
"Ibitha" is how it's pronounced in spanish

Which one has more comfortable suspension - st-line or fr?
Both aren’t far off each other, to be honest. The Fiesta ST Line just edges the Ibiza FR for comfort, however.
Thanks for the review, is Fiesta's color named Race Red, right?
Umur Umurilik Gümüşbaş Yeah its race red
Hi Umur, you are correct - it is Race Red.
Alex Lovelady Thanks for Quick replay, nice color
Parkers Thanks for Quick replay! Nice color
Parkers Do you mind to review Ford Ecosport also? Would be great if you can
i want that exact fiesta, that reg makes it!
Speak to Ford’s UK press office, they may be willing to sell it to you in a few months!
What a cop out. Pick one to be the winner. That’s what we watch for
Rear parking sensors is an extra £200 on the Titanium
Del Johnson why would you need parking sensors on a car the size of a fiesta anyway? you should have to pay more than £200 for needing them!

Ford really screwed up on the exterior design.
