For me the best segment B car. I don't agree with your review. The most technological car in its segment, wonderful to drive and B&O music system absolutely stunning.
I have one of these myself right down to the wheels and the glass roof, its a lovely car to drive, comfortable, with loads of spec,I mean heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist etc, only thing I would love is a powered tailgate, but no supermini offers one, mines the 100ps and its bloody awesome on fuel
Fiesta ecoboost, brilliant car and so quick for it's small engine size. Lots of room for drivers but the rear is cramped. Great gear ratios and fun to drive. Don't like the new lights on the 2018 though.
We visited my wife's parents family in Sandomierz in 2016. She spoke Polish as a child but growing up in Montréal her parents thought that English was more important and didn't use the language from the old country much. It is a really complicated language with multi genders which change with tenses and multiple tenses.
I've just got a 100ps Fiesta Ecoboost Titanium 3 door, it now has the option to have LED headlights which I got, roughly £600 extra in the UK, they are good especially they have automatic on function that dips them quickly. The heater gets very hot & I got the comfort pack (Heated seats & steering wheel) & panoramic roof, believe you me it gets hot inside. Also has the heated windscreen as standard in U.K. spec.
Guys everyone knows this is quite a good car. I drove older on and new one and I haven't felt in love with new one. There is space and comfort but build quality is moderate and handling is not so engaging as with old one. Old one was a little rocket even with base trim/engine and new one is on soft side. Material quality stands up over lase generation one. I love Marek's approach. This is what you look for when looking for reviews. I don't have complains about seats but it might be important for somebody. I love fords. I had only fords in my life and actually picked new stline focus 1,5 few months ago. Still looking for new car for my wife and having good realtion with ford I have doubts on new fiesta. Good car but I'v found it not so attractive that I hoped I would.
I am a big guy and not gonna fit really good in this fiesta. But when I am looking for "mini" car I would prefer Ford Focus! It's not so small like this fiesta but also it's not much bigger. Also when the Ford Fiesta is good for a cities, Ford Focus is good for cities and a little bit longer trips. Also is good for a trips with few friends. Like I Said in the beginning I am not a small guy that could fit in a Ford Fiesta. So this is my opinion. Here in Bulgaria Ford Fiesta is car of the year! Greetings!
B-Segment cars cut so many corners to get that lower price, because if they were built like a C-segment car, they would also cost as much. B-Segment crossovers (which are often advertised as C-Segment cars) are a total rip-off, they are B-segment cars on stilts, they cost as much as a C-segment car, handle worse, consume more fuel and I find that they cut even more corners to save money. Get a C-segment car or higher unless you need a second car in the family for driving around in the city.
That is why i bought the ST-line with better seats all buttons have lights in blue, better extras, better finishes, race suspension, race seats, sync 3, and so much more that the titanium doesn't have. Paid 17 100 euro in Portugal for a full extra fiesta ST-line that doesn't have reverse camera only (useless in my opinion). Lower suspension 17 inch alloy wheel with pilot sport 4 tyres. Awesome car vs Kia rio, Citroen c3. This were the cars i tried since the 3 were my last picks after much information gathering.
I love my Fiesta 2018 ST LINE, no problem with the temperatuers, even when we got -8c here in Denmark atm ;) and there is not to much on the stearling wheel, after 1 or 2 days, you will could use them without even loook at them. sorry to said, but this does not look like a review, more a " ford hate" video.
I agree ("ford hate review"). number of this claims are ridiculous (little buttons on stearing! it's same probleme with all cars...and when you used those buttons, afetr time you know where there are; stering is adjustable for the reading of board indications !)... So 50.000 km with the 1.0 100 HP manual 6 gearbox since september 2018 and I can say that it's very fun to drive with this car (town, littles mountains roads, motorway). My consumtion is usualy 5.8 -6.2 l/100 km : I can make 720 km with one tank (I make one extrem test: 880 km at 4.7 l/100 km). My worst result after driving through italian mountain and driving on german motorway (6.8 -7 l / 100 km). I remember that the car salesman said to me: when it's a new car, the car must to go 1500 km before consumption 'll be calculated seriously... In many car tests, the car is tested during 100 km ! No bad for one rather low price car. sorry for my English ;)
I bought the mk8 fiesta....and its a beast...!!! Rly nice driving exp. and a lot of economy too...!! i dont know what u talking about. Go and drive a wv polo but take care of the electrics and the chipset that will tell only fake stats...! SKOUPIDI!
I own a used 2012/13 Fiesta in Titanium spec with the same 125 PS engine (although this "now old version" only has 5 gears, the new one has six). I only drive on B-roads in the countryside (avg. speed 100 km/h) and in the city, once every 3-6 months motorway (unrestricted Autobahn). My average fuel consumption is slap bang between 5,3-5,4l. If I drive like a loon for a week it creeps to 5,6l. Bear in mind it's -8C here, I got the full winter package, heated seats, windscreen etc, everything pumping on max, cabin heats up nice and fast and try as I might it's impossible to get it past 5,6l/ 100 km. How in the world are you getting 7l in the new version with an extra overdrive gear ? Mind you, I run my Fiesta on 15 inch tyres in summer, 14 inch in winter, so it handles great and is still quite comfy. Maybe the bigger standard spec wheels (16 ? 17 ?) on this new one on Titanium ruined the fuel economy and the sweet handling/comfort balance ? Drove the Fiesta ST too once, great car, but as a daily driver unnecessarily harsh. Mazda 2 I find has NVH issues, VW Group cars are quieter and comfier but put me to sleep driving, Toyota drives like a barge. There's also Corsa but I stay away from all things Opel. Therefore I like the Fiesta based on my experience with the prior model, cheap to buy used, decent power, great fuel economy, fantastic drive, affordable maintenance/servicing. What's not to love...I have yet to find a non-premium alternative that strikes that perfect balance.
my friends have focus with this same engine and they are averaging around 6L.. marek simply doesn't like fiesta and as all east "europeans" he will love vw (polo)
Gunzberg, it is good that you shun Opel. We have both Opel and SEAT LEON. Opel Corsa had to have timing chain exchanged at about 80 000 km only and it gathers rust at the age of four. Moreover it is rather unresponsive to speed pedal. Carsalesbase website confirms big slump in Opel sales unlike SEAT - another promo video from Seat shows continuous rise in sales - the link also for Marek th-cam.com/video/KjyeMhcuxZA/w-d-xo.html . I am East European and don't like VW Golf or Polo (my Leon Excellence is much nicer and Golf doesn't rise in sales which says it brings nothing revolutionary in itself but for some rave in fans like Marek). Milan
I just read owner reviews of Opels and I run a mile. Also I had them as a rental car, it was comfy and heating steering wheel was great...the rest was just lacklustre
Gunzberg You are right. The only drawback of Leon compared to Corsa is the absence of heated steering wheel. Nevertheless Leon has automatic clima with front high-speed ventilation and by the time I get away with frost on the windows it is warm inside. Milan
Great review M. A used small crossover is likely better value (no where near 23,000 Euro) and probably more practical. The Fiesta is now almost the size of the Ford Focus Mark 1, so its a fairly big 'city' car these days.
Again, I don't think there is such a thing as good supermini. Period. Vignale is even more expensive, and whatever finish it has, it does not justify the price. That said, they will probably be heavily discounted, as it is the case with Mondeo Vignale.
That surprised me about the headlights. In the UK all but the basic Style variant have LED daytime lights and projection headlights while we can upgrade to full LED headlights for only £600.
Honest review M. They didn't change the new model enough for me it looks like the old model it replaces. It's also way too expensive here in Ireland . I don't like the entertainment system. It looks like it was just stuck on as an afterthought!!! Think i would go for the new Polo. Look forward to seeing your review for the new Polo.....
Dude what are you talking about???? I feel like you are talking about a different car to the one I test driven. I thought the Fiesta was really comfortable and quiet. It felt like a car from the segment above.
Ignis is a completely different car, and I would buy it for the fun factor alone. Swift vs. Fiesta - Fiesta wins hands down. It's better to drive, it's nicer inside and out, it has better tech, bigger boot, etc.
Kiedys wypozyczylem taka fieste z 2010 r nowa. Zaskoczyl mnie ten samochod w dieslu. Naprawde fajnie nim sie pomykalo. Tamten nie mial tych cudow. Jezdzil naprawde dobrze.
I test drove one of these with 16 inch tyres and I thought the suspension absorbed potholes and bumps beautifully. Maybe it was the 17s this car at fault for the bumpy ride, although I can't see an inch making such a difference. All other reviews I've read/watched on this praise it's suspension too. Marek I think you need to find yourself a good chiropractor.
Which options don't you get in Ireland? And why? This 1.0 125 EcoBoost is pretty good (except for economy). I was surprised to drive it on the motorway with just 3k revs in 6th gear at about 140 km/h. I forgot to mention that.
We have a dumb tax called VRT which is applied to a car when it's registered here. In effect that taxes every piece of equipment that's on the car from the factory. We get window winders in the back as standard. The car I tested in Ireland is the top spec version. I like the basic 1.1ltr for the fuel economy but the Ecoboost has that torque. Ford really need some electric engines int he Fiesta. Great review!
Thanks. I like your new take too (drone montage and music). VRT is a tax on imported cars, right? Are there any cars currently manufactured in Ireland, which VRT would protect from imports?
Marek Drives no we don’t make any cars so all are subject to VRT. The government are trying to protect from UK imports because they are far cheaper to buy there. The free and open market of Europe isn’t quite equal. Do you ever get to Ireland?
A little tip for you. If you are cold with the climate set to 21, try setting it to 23 and you should be nice and toasty. ;-) As a matter of interest it was -8C here in West Wales, right on the western coast last night. Three miles inland it was -12C
LOL. Thing is in most cars in sub zero temperatures I'm fine at 18 with jacket unzipped. In this one heater was working overtime set to 21, my jacket was zipped. There was just too much cold coming from the glass roof. And it was something like -4 Celsius outside, so no biggie.
Marek I think you did a great review revealing not only the good things but also the compromises of this great car. Maybe the next facelifted Fiesta deals with them
I'm not a fan of the supermini as a segment. I guess a Toyota Yaris is the safest bet. It's meh, but at least it doesn't pretend to be something it's not.
I would like to buy an automatic in this category for my wife this year. Mainly for city driving. Now that is a mission for lesser evil... I'm torn between yaris hybrid (dislike the cvt and the high price) and vitara automatic 1.6 petrol (bit too big, and already have an scross, maybe I shouldn't have all eggs in one basquet). Mazda 1.5 automatic would be perfect, but even new mazda's rust too fast for my liking. Any tipps maybe?
Thx, rio sadly has ancient 4 speed automatic. Soul is highly disliked by my wife :) And the bit bigger/newer models have double clutch automatics which I dont trust. Ideally it would be a 5-6 speed conventional automatic, but there are not many such cars. Maybe opel corsa 1.4, but with the heavy older opels that would be way too slow on the few occasions in the summer when she drives the autobahn.
i know this comment is 4 years old but I've heard peugeot/citroens EAT transmissions are pretty reliable (aisin transmission so it uses toyota parts and technology)
Nice review, Marek. About those lights - is it fair to complain about nothing other than halogens available? First, for years halogens had been enough, and second, few will pay more for fancy lights in a supermini. And price is stiff for this one. It is (was) actually more expensive than outgoing Focus (at least here, in Baltics), and for the money one can get even a Golf, which is much bigger and better equipped car. Or Polo, which is also not too attractive due to high price. Otherwise, I also tried Fiesta and found that, while in cabin front it is much nicer now, rear room is about the same, trunk is same and... yeah, looks is more boring now, so we are left with just the nice handling. Is it enough to beat the roomy Polo? Hardly. But still worth shortlisting. :)
Fiesta handles much better than the Polo. I'd risk saying even with 1.0 EcoBoost it handles better than Polo GTI. Unfortunately I cannot show how good it is, because I don't have a track, and it would probably be irrelevant to an average buyer. Let's just say on my "secret test road" it corners with speeds reserved for AWD performance vehicles.
I have an 8 year old 1.6 TDCI, the engine is quite quiet but there is too much road noise coming from the wheel wells. So you're review to my mind is less than useful because there is almost nothing about the drive experience.
skipping the new superminis and going looking for a decent second-hand family car is always a better idea if you ask me. minis almost always have flimsy build quality.
LED DRL and push button ignition are standard in titanium and sync 3 is standard even with the smaller screen. Also I have seen full led headlights in the st and the active versions. So, perhaps they will be optionally available. This car is the best in it's class both in technical aspect and in styling. Especially the interior which is a huge update from the mk6
Great review, thank you very much first time I have vitnessed an objective review of Ford Fiesta! I never understand why british car magazines and reviewers always give 5 stars to Fiesta. Production and part quality are always low; ergonomy is always below average; and when it takes some age, for instance 10 years old they nearly become trash. They find , fo r instance hard plastic at all cars, but they forget it when testing these things. As you can see in the review nearly there is nothing more than average or mediocre in interior design, quality and ergonomics. I will understand if Ford would be a national brand. I never seen any Ford aging as for instance japanese rivals. I accept steering and driving characteristics (I have driven different generations), but is that enough to label these low quality products as best of class, 5 stars, whatsoever? I think the only country that Fiesta is the best selling car in its class is UK! Unbelievable acceptance of low quality. Maybe that is why British auto industy has vanished. Either there is a serious problem of quality perception or they don't care about quality.
Just one thing, this is the mk8 Fiesta. The previous model was the mk7.5. Its was a 7.5 because it was only a facelift of the original mk7. Good review!
Thanks for the honest review, heard Ford's EcoBoost engine gives poor MPG and was not sure that Ford build quality was any better these days, seems like it's just as average 👍
Unfortunately Ford USA has decided to continue production of the old Fiesta in the US, after 2018 we will not get the new Fiesta, instead Ford decided the US market should get the UGLY ECOSPORT replacing the Fiesta all together in America.
looks so horrible outside (for Chinese market maybe the right taste?) and inside, and so much consuption and shit harsh suspension - a car for the bin. Normally I love super minis because I like to whizz with them easily through the city. But actually there is hardly an acceptable one.
I mean ... no offense, but when someone's (dealbreaker) priority in a car is an infotainment system, then there is something wrong with the said person.
One reason i disliked this video is because if you are opening a fucking boot of a car, you fucking lift the fucking door not touch it an expect it to raise, it isnt an electric door.
Usually I travel with temperature set to 18-19, and it's more than enough. I don't need the heater blasting at full power. I need it to maintain a comfortable temperature, which this one clearly wouldn't. It's the same with cooling in some cars on warmer days. It's either too hot at (let's say) 21, but turn it down half a degree and it's blowing cold air at full blast, and it's too cold. The only thing this Fiesta did well (but I couldn't show it, because safety, etc.) is go very fast around corners. Like sports car fast.
I want to add to the Clio comment. The engine is GUTLESS, interior is still fin,e but anything bellow GT is so gutless you would think there is something wrong with it.
23k for a Fiesta is a nonsense. In Lithuania (neighboring country of Poland, to those who don't know) a mid-spec Fiesta with AT this very day costs 14-16k euros.
This guy the only thing he does is complain about the car it's a Ford Fiesta is not a fucking goddamn Lexus or Mercedes Benz come on get for real is a cheap car if you want luxury go to the other four door go to a focus go to a Lincoln
Hey Marek, i admit Fiesta is not the most appealing or comfy super mini at the moment, but i suspect that many of us might still prefer it' s fun to drive character over , say , vw polo's very , very boring interior and uninspired design.
For me the best segment B car. I don't agree with your review. The most technological car in its segment, wonderful to drive and B&O music system absolutely stunning.
Yes i have new Fiesta with sunroof+B.O titanium.İts very good and fun car.Best B segment i think

Hello, so after 4 years, how did it do? Ecoboost still holding?
@@abdeoupox yup still working perfectly, had no issues with it. The car has done me well.

This new crop of _stelzenwagen_ obviously returns fat profits, no wonder every manufacturer want a slice of it
Hello from romania Marek. I still watch almost all your reviews because they are more honest than everybody else.
Thank you. My Polish viewers seem to disagree :)
@@MarekDrives Not just Polish mate, you're terrible.

I mentioned it before in your other videos, but I'll say it again - love your honesty, and seemingly lack of bias - keep it up!
I understand the steering wheel is adjustable so that for instance, you can see the dials you said were not easy to see, through said wheel.
It doesn't mean I can assume the correct and/or comfortable driving position.
great review Marek !
Very poor review of a fantastic car
At last a totally honest review of a car from someone 👍

Thing is in most cars in sub zero temperatures I'm fine at 18 with jacket unzipped. In this one heater was working overtime set to 21, my jacket was zipped. There was just too much cold coming from the glass roof. And it was something like -4 Celsius outside, so no biggie.
Who cares about "West Wales" LOL
Bojan Dosen
Good answer for a ten year old.
great and realistic review, tnx man :)
Marek I think you did a great review revealing not only the good things but also the compromises of this great car. Maybe the next facelifted Fiesta deals with them
I like a great attention for details in this review..... Will I byu this csr? For 23 kEuro -definately not....
What do you recommend then ..a Syrena ?
I'm not a fan of the supermini as a segment. I guess a Toyota Yaris is the safest bet. It's meh, but at least it doesn't pretend to be something it's not.
I don't understand is how Toyota Iygo in the same class with WV Polo?Isn't Iygo an A-class?
Yaris, not Aygo. Yaris, Polo, Fiesta are B-segment (or supermini), Aygo, Ka, up! are the A-segment.
Good looking, but cost cutting is evident
I would like to buy an automatic in this category for my wife this year. Mainly for city driving. Now that is a mission for lesser evil... I'm torn between yaris hybrid (dislike the cvt and the high price) and vitara automatic 1.6 petrol (bit too big, and already have an scross, maybe I shouldn't have all eggs in one basquet). Mazda 1.5 automatic would be perfect, but even new mazda's rust too fast for my liking. Any tipps maybe?
Tamás Csirik kia rio or kia soul :-)
I love this fiesta I don't agree
Great, honest review. I deliberately hired a Fiesta a couple of years ago with a view to replacing my old Corolla. I didn't like it at all.
Then u need try focus not fiesta because u already have corolla which upper segment then fiesta
your reviews are awesome I hope you keep it up!
yup will this launches in india
Best review so far!
What about Kia Rio?
What about it?
At 5:35, is that a wireless charging pad, or a signal booster?
It's for when batteries die in the keyless ignition fob.
I think this guy just dislikes this car for nothing I think it’s amazing
Jak mam być szczery to wydaje mi się że drugi kanał angielskojezyczny byłby lepszy niż wrzucanie dwóch filmów A ten sam
Być może.
I wish that Polish comments be made at Polish version, please. Marek, can you ask your countrymen, please. Prosze.
Milan
+Milan Kostek I think we can forgive these rare occasions.
Why do you hate mazda ?? They look and drive very good with good quality
I own a Mazda, and I know it drives well, but infotainment sucks big time, and it's a deal-breaker for me.
build quality is so bad on mazdas.
you need to try one to change your mind try mazda 3 2017 it feels more expensive
I will better get swift gor driving pleasure or a mini
I have an 8 year old 1.6 TDCI, the engine is quite quiet but there is too much road noise coming from the wheel wells. So you're review to my mind is less than useful because there is almost nothing about the drive experience.
Clio has a fine interior
Fine... Fine is something you say casually, when people ask "how are you".
Ford Fiesta ❤️
skipping the new superminis and going looking for a decent second-hand family car is always a better idea if you ask me. minis almost always have flimsy build quality.
new Fiesta vs Peugeot 208?
Fiesta.
Instrument cluster is strange it's kind of angled at your chest rather than your face.
In the UK it's 8, everywhere else it's 7. Similarly Mondeo is Mk 4 or 5, depending on how you classify Mk2.
Thanks for the honest review, heard Ford's EcoBoost engine gives poor MPG and was not sure that Ford build quality was any better these days, seems like it's just as average 👍
Poor vid, watch something else. Save data. This was just a moan fest
The ads that intrude in the middle of the Review. Will never buy from those companies.
You do realise this is why you get to watch these videos for free in the first place? If wants an ad free experience there is always TH-cam Premium.
Marek 2018 Sonata Hybrid Please
We don't get that in Poland.
too much buttons less comunication, a shot for you guys back from the past
Unfortunately Ford USA has decided to continue production of the old Fiesta in the US, after 2018 we will not get the new Fiesta, instead Ford decided the US market should get the UGLY ECOSPORT replacing the Fiesta all together in America.
Any TH-camrs in the comment section have anymore real world figures for the fuel consumption?
looks so horrible outside (for Chinese market maybe the right taste?) and inside, and so much consuption and shit harsh suspension - a car for the bin. Normally I love super minis because I like to whizz with them easily through the city. But actually there is hardly an acceptable one.
this car looks really good, and its lighter than WV polo which is basically golf now. 1390 kg!
A case on wine? I guess you had a party and did not drink it all yourself!
Almost funny.
After one week I became used to all the buttons. But you only got the car for a day I guess.
Anti commercial am i very happy with the car. Stupid remarks about hearing and glasses seriously!
Peugeot 208, even prettier than Clio but much nicer interior.
Sorry Marek but just for infotainment system is just simple Mazda 2 is it bad!? omg! I think Mazda 2 rules all of them in super mini market
Fiat has a simple infotainment system, KIA/Hyundai have a simple infotainment system. Mazda has a BAD infotainment system.
I mean ... no offense, but when someone's (dealbreaker) priority in a car is an infotainment system, then there is something wrong with the said person.
If I could get rid of it altogether, it would be fine. But I can't. It's sitting there making me feel I overpaid for a mediocre product.
One reason i disliked this video is because if you are opening a fucking boot of a car, you fucking lift the fucking door not touch it an expect it to raise, it isnt an electric door.
I was cold with temperature set to 20,5 no shitt get it to 23 than it will be warm you’re just looking for something that doesn’t exist
Hi
I'm American.
I don't speak Polish or metric.
Cheers 💅
this video is on ENG bro
Case of wine instead a bottle? Now I see why the comments are so extrange
I want to add to the Clio comment. The engine is GUTLESS, interior is still fin,e but anything bellow GT is so gutless you would think there is something wrong with it.
Seriously who wants a panoramic moonroof? They add unwanted light into the interior, steel headroom, and add noise.
The ecoboost mileage is a total lie.
10tenman10 Two spiralmaxes in the exhaust might help?
23 thousand Euros is outrageous! You can buy a quite speced up Polo for that kind of money. Reviews show it is more premium than this.
same speced polo costs quite a lot more than fiesta and it's boring to drive
23k for a Fiesta is a nonsense. In Lithuania (neighboring country of Poland, to those who don't know) a mid-spec Fiesta with AT this very day costs 14-16k euros.
A double floor, an option to make the boot smaller. It take more marketing boys than engineers to sell this crap.
God i wish America got the 1.0 with 6mt butttttt nooooooo gotta kill off cars ugh
ha ha what a rip off for the price. shame
I guess the cheaper versions make more sense
What a cruel color, maybe for women.
First Ford dashboard (interior) that looks acceptable.
Anyone else notice the light bulb that is out behind him in the beginning 😐
It's one of many that are out or off. I have no idea who controls the lighting on that parking lot.
True. As I said, lesser evil :)
Vauxahll corsa aren't bad
Generic, expensive, and with too many tiny buttons, but I haven't found a good supermini.
Basically is pretty rubbish
This guy is so miserable and whiney.
I've owned three Fords. They were all shite. Never again.
Well....if the first two were shit why did you buy a third one?
Company car.
And what an lousy fact that you are to old to hear if an audio system is any good... Maybe you are to old to do car reviews???
hyundai copied design of interior from this car...
