@@RG-bn9hl 90k, symptoms were excessive rattling upon start up that didn’t go away once warm. When you say white smoke how much? If excessive amount then check turbo for oil

I’ve just bought a 2013 1.2 diesel. 36000 miles. Nice car. The paperwork shows it’s had a recall for the diesel filter that’s been done which is reassuring.
The interior door handles in my experience are also atrocious in my experience. Driver side door handle snapped off, took way too long to replace and is a pain to line up the window rails if you accidentally take the bolts out too much. Few weeks after replacing the drivers handle, the passenger failed as well. There is a tiny little plastic connection which effectively stabilises the door handle which can snap. Not that big of a deal, but i did get an advisory on my MOT for the door handle.
The 5 speed manual (made by VW) has internal bearing failure issues well known by gearbox re-building specialists. I know this as my daughters 1.4 Ibiza gearbox failed and cost £1100 to re-build (this price included new clutch and VAT).
Don’t forget to mention the Positioning Motor (V68) for Temperature Flap on cars with Climatronic. In time, the grease on the inside of the motor will go trough the whole body and dirty the contacts. Symptoms: no temperature regulation of the climatronic. Solution: take out the complete dashboard and clean the damn thing on the inside… Full day of work for just a quick clean with a q-tip. Thanks for tip of the wiper spray. I got a trunk full of water and a small stream of wiper spray. Guess they are connected to each other!
Turbo went on mine at 120k, got it out and refurbed. Cheap internal drivers door pull made of plastic required replacement, pig to do. Also had two injectors go over 140k, and the EGR went as you said they do (got mine mapped out instead). Also like you said is common, power steering pump and module died at 9 years/140k. Now after 13 years I need to replace the driver door lock, or perhaps just the micro switch. I'm not looking forward to doing that tbh,
I've mine 2011 1.6 TDI with 284 000km on the clock still goes great and responsive whenever i floor it, only thing now is that the steering wheel is vibrating at high speed

Because the DSGs from 2013 are utterly reliable, particularly from 2015 exactly. But in this video, author have lumped up all the year w/o cognizance to the improvement on the DQ200 infamous DSG. DSGs are the only non-e gears that are remotely close to e-gears in terms of gear changing. I drove in one most recent Caddy, I was gobsmacked to the point, I was like WTF, this is the best auto-gear I have ever driven in. 😂
Im looking for a 1.4 TSi just now and you said they have timing chain issues and mentioned it again saying the 1.2 has similar timing chain issues my issue is a lot i see on Autotrader say timing belt done. Bit of Googling says 1.2 is chain and 1.4 is belt so is that a mistake on your part or is the twin charge 1.4 different in some way other than the obvious twin charge and that is what you were refering to.
Would you also avoid the 1.2 tsi ? Would a tsi engine cost more in maintenance services and repair parts etc Please help a clueless sister out please fellas 😊

I got a 1.4 16v 2009. 125k miles Alternator, ABS pump x2, heater fan and heater resister have failed. Unfortunately the rear passenger foot is very wet and I still can't find the leak.

It's like a cheap Audi TT ( 8S 1.8TFSI witch costs about 30k ) From what i know its based on the ea888 engine, it's either gen2 3 or 3b, i have the 192 horse power version. If it's a gen 3b, it's the latest engine, with most of the problems fixed as it is shared with other cars like audi, vw, skoda. I would be happy if you managed to get a detaild video about this version of the car and I think you would be impresed aswell.

In my country i have not seen another one so far, only regular ibizas. People even ask me what kind of car it is because they never seen one like it. Check out some of my videos.

Do a full history check, some websites like autotrader and eBay include full history checks, an MOT history check etc. go see it in person, test drive it. Don't get me wrong it's a great price, but sounds a little too good to be true for no issues whatsoever. I've been in the market for automatic transmissions for a friend, examples around 2010 & 2011 Ibiza's with 64-72k miles around £4800-£5600

Turned out the car is listed as having Cat S damage when sold at a Salvage Auction (report shows photos of the damage etc). In short, doing these full HPI checks are absolutely necessary as not all dealers are upfront and honest.

I've got a 1.2tsi Fr made in April 2017 and its got a timing belt so no chain to be concerned about. I did however have a fuel leak around the 40k. It was caused by 4 bolts holding down the fuel rail. 2 had broken oddly enough and the fuel injectors popped out slightly pouring out fuel. No issues with the car other than that and it's been 5 years. Just get those fuel rail bolts checked as it's an issue for other people on forums 👍

With the 1.4 tsi info. I would say yes avoid the turbo/supercharger 180bhp version to avoid but the later 1.4 tsi 150 bhp is a better engine

i have a 1.2tsi and the chain rattles on start up but clears up after a few seconds. ive asked 4 garages now and they won't change it :')
Same, chain works on oil pressure just take a few seconds to build up pressure then it does away - I took mine back to seat and they said it's normal.

I have a 1.2 tdi 2012. About 300k. Just had to replace the clutch and flywheel. Also the check engine light is on because of bad EGR.

You can on the 2016 model. It also has sat nav built in with a nice little screen.

I've got a 1.2tsi Fr made in April 2017 and its got a timing belt so no chain to be concerned about. I did however have a fuel leak around the 40k. It was caused by 4 bolts holding down the fuel rail. 2 had broken oddly enough and the fuel injectors popped out slightly pouring out fuel. No issues with the car other than that and it's been 5 years. Just get those fuel rail bolts checked as it's an issue for other people on forums 👍
