But it still drives as smooth as the day I bought it.

Hello. From 8 months I'm driving Fabia (2017) 1.0 with LPG. 99% trips are in city conditions (uber driver). I have to tell that this car is so good. Engine is good enough for city driving, no need more power. Best is fuel consumption around 6-6.5L LPG, 8-8.5L petrol (per 100km). Cant compare to other two but you did it :) Anyway, great video mate, good talking, no bulls.t!

LPT: When actually transporting a bike inside a car, take off the front wheel even if you don't strictly have to. It's just easier in and out, and easier to stack with other stuff.
@A real petrol-head Yes I understand what you are pointing out. You just chose the wrong word. Both vents are horizontal, one is longer than the other.
The Fabia has got decent knee room in the back. It's just that the Monte Carlo models have bulky Sport seats. If you just get a different trim, the legroom will be fine.
True, I've just got the 2019 version and leg room is fine. But I am a quite tall (1'90m) and the space behind the driver seat is quite narrow for a similar size passenger. But it is just right for someone smaller.
I kind of expected the Ibiza to win this one, given that it's generally considered the best in class, or close to it, and certainly helped by being the newest by far. It's a big car though, for a supermini - about 75mm longer than the Fabia, tipping it well past that magic 4 metre mark. About the same length as a Golf Mk. 3, in fact.
Unpopular opinion here but i think the Toyota looks the most modern from the outside with the LED headlights and taillights. The Seat Ibiza exterior looks like something from 2010 with halogen lights and DRL.
All VAG cars have shitty halogen headlights and tail lights in their lower and mid trim level cars. Only the top trim level VAG cars have LED head/tail lights.

Another video where the car that wins is more expensive than the other 2. Surely there was another car in the same price bracket as general rule is that the more you pay for a car the better it will be as they use better components.
If you get panic attacks of the thought your car may brake down then by the Yaris. Its not that it will not give problems but at least you have the perception of reliabilty. For all others, just buy the car that fits your needs.
guys, buy Yaris - the most reliable car which also keeps its value most and it is more economical to run and maintain. btw I own 14 years old Yaris and for all these years and over 150000km the only thing that has been repaired/changes was one airbag sensor ( cost: eur 40)
you’d be stupid to take the fabia over the ibiza. the ibiza is a whole generation newer (MQB) while the fabia is still based on the last gen polo. the ibiza is basically a new polo except cheaper, more fun, and better looking.
Well, it is not as easy as that. The Fabia is available as Combi also, the Ibiza is not. This can make the difference if you are looking for the biggest trunk for the lowest price.
@A real petrol-head : Seat Ibizia was definitely offered as an estate, but only in the previous generation. Seat cancelled the Combi in the newest generation tested here.
@@bremCZ They are the exact same car underneath their skin, sure the Polo is better, you get some soft touch materials, the design, perhaps different suspension setup, a VW badge etc but you pay a price for it.
I bought the Seat Ibiza 1.0 TSI DSG7 2020 back in 2019 and it has electric windows in the back and a raisable boot floor with a spare tire for the sub woofer.
The Seat have the best exterior and the most sportiest design (just look at those fantastic external rear view mirrors),Skoda is also very good looking car with great interior and the last is Toyota(modern interior but exterior design is questionable)...I vote for Seat for sure
Yaris Hybrid. Comparing a small car on three adults in the back or three massive suitcases is a bit daft. It will usually get used for one or two adults in the front and one or two kids in the back. For that it's got plenty of space, the Hybrid has plenty of low down guts thanks to the electric motor, good mpg, it's not going to break anytime soon and it's got no silly distractions inside - it's just a car that works as a car. Have a look at used prices and you soon see which are the throw away after a few years cars and which is the one people will still pay for. On that point if you take in depreciation and all running costs the Yaris is way cheaper to own aswell. If you need to carry three adults or a rugby team's worth of luggage you should buy a car that's suited to it.
Some people are on a budget and they don't want to overspend or they can't afford to buy a car that is suited for 3 adults or a rugby team, so VAG is spot on with the Ibiza as they can suit everyone from singles to families. The Yaris and the rest of the supermini class, except the Baleno as far as i know, are for singles or couples with no children or second family cars. I have the Ibiza with the 115bhp engine for 16 months now and i am totally satisifed with it, it is comfortable with the 185/65/15 tyres, i like the looks, the engine is punchy, fuel economy is more than descent, easy to drive for my wife's daily commute, we go on trips with our son,our dog and all our luggage, we pay low tax/year, it does everything very good, considering the price and my expectations, i knew what i was buying. If it turns out to be reliable, no problems so far,it will prove to be an excellent choice.
the raised boot shelf on the yaris is available and great for increasing floorspace efectively doubling it albeit the lower space is only about 9 inches high , but good
I bought a 2019 model Ibiza 115 FR with sunroof for just over £15 k. It's not bad but be aware that the steering is completely numb, the infotainment is glitchy and not ergonomic and the interior feels cheap. The tailgate needs a hefty slam to shut properly and the LED headlamps seem to wind up some other drivers.
I'd go with the Yaris because of the spare wheel and because I don't have OCD on parcel shelves and stuff. It just works, no need to reinvent the wheel (or the parcel shelf)!
Gf has a 2018 ibiza. If you can get along with DSG, it's a great car. Nippy, functional, quite spacious in the back, has all the bells and whistles, looks ok. I despise DSG with a passion though. It has a mind of its own and it pulls some weird shit sometimes. I really, really hate that. If you're looking into buying a car with DSG, consider renting it for a week or two. Seriously, it's that bad (for me) and you really gotta be sure if you want that. I drove a passat, golf, ibiza (duh) and it's not just the ibiza. The shifts are smooth no complaints there but same amount of gas/brake yield different results each time with the cars! Sometimes it pounces forward, sometimes it doesnt. Same applies for reverse. Sometimes you brake just a little and the car brakes itself twice as hard, stopping you abrubtly. Oh and the lane keep assist will try to kill you.
Its amazing how my Toyota Yaris II (2007) was such a fun and cinvenient little car. Center console design out of space age, rear seat folding flat, nifty storage spaces everywhere, like that car had 8 cupholders etc. It was a brave design by all means, wrecked by a shitty multimode transmission. Shame. No more brave stuff from Toyota.
Isn't the crease in the dashboard for heating the front windscreen? My last Ibiza had one and my current Leon has one as well although both of them do seem to be further back than the one shown in the new Ibiza.
The funny thing is before Mat began this video of which is better, I was already thinking the Seat was better. Let's be honest. It looks the most pleasant. Practicality is miles better, fuel economy is great. Yeah I too would have chosen it also just one thing that bothers me. Those rear manual operated windows. Does the higher spec get the electric power windows? If not I will definately go for a Ford.
Any chance of an estate head to head between the Volvo V60 Audi A4 avant and the Mercedes C class Estate/ BMW 3 Series Touring? Great video as always I'd take the Skoda.
What an obvious Volkswagen Group commercial! "The Seat is more modern than the Yaris" lol! So how many of the other two has the equivalent to Toyota Safety Sense as standard? Exactly, none of them! And how do the value retention look after a year or three... Exactly! The Toyota may be perceived as more boring, but in fact it is the better car across the board.

Do a Polo vs Ibiza comparison as I think a lot of people are undecided which one to go for including myself.
Yaris also has reverse cameras since its 2012 model they was so ahead of the rest
Love your videos! Keep up...
For all others, just buy the car that fits your needs.
so what if you compare ibiza with new polo and new fiesta?
The only question in such a comparison would be .
is the Yaris still good with manual transmission and diesel ?
4:07 Matt magically changes his clothes to demonstrate rear space
Got a 2004 yaris 1.4d4d remaped got it for 6 years now. Awesome little car.
"People hate it when I throw car parts about.."
*Throws car part*
"But this car deserves it"
MADLAD. Rekt.
guys, buy Yaris - the most reliable car which also keeps its value most and it is more economical to run and maintain. btw I own 14 years old Yaris and for all these years and over 150000km the only thing that has been repaired/changes was one airbag sensor ( cost: eur 40)
Anyone notice the camera shakes the most in the “better” car. 🤦🏻♂️
Yaris is a very good car and also a hybrid. It’s comfortable and the dash is much better than you say
you’d be stupid to take the fabia over the ibiza. the ibiza is a whole generation newer (MQB) while the fabia is still based on the last gen polo. the ibiza is basically a new polo except cheaper, more fun, and better looking.
Well, it is not as easy as that. The Fabia is available as Combi also, the Ibiza is not. This can make the difference if you are looking for the biggest trunk for the lowest price.
But the last gen Polo still blows the Ibiza away...
@@kostasmats7922 When you drive both you realise they are far from the same car.
I bought the Seat Ibiza 1.0 TSI DSG7 2020 back in 2019 and it has electric windows in the back and a raisable boot floor with a spare tire for the sub woofer.
Is DSG7 DQ200 0CW good?
@@dragospahontu It changes to second gear way too early but other than that it's really good and smooth, especially when accelerating hard.
The Seat have the best exterior and the most sportiest design (just look at those fantastic external rear view mirrors),Skoda is also very good looking car with great interior and the last is Toyota(modern interior but exterior design is questionable)...I vote for Seat for sure
This guy is brilliant and funny. He should be on mainstream TV car shows.
We use the Canadian speck 2016 Yaris cars for delivery at my work, they all have high miles and have never needed work done, strong cars
That's Toyota in a nutshell
8:47 what if Ur a kid who enjoyed his dad driving a 2009 vauxhall in 2019 and was changing to a 2016 high tech hatchback like the seat ibiza
the raised boot shelf on the yaris is available and great for increasing floorspace efectively doubling it albeit the lower space is only about 9 inches high , but good
Skoda Fabia is the winner for me 🙂
Parth Desai that’s what I would go for too 🥰
Cheap VW Polo vs. cheap VW Polo vs. Toyota
Toyota hast won of course.
@A real bisexual petrol-head wow that's a bit harsh, maybe?
It's a good but small car. Buy Skoda Rapid instead. You will thank me later.
@montalitè DZ the seat copied the škoda
Hey Mat mind telling me why wasn't the Suzuki swift here?
Whyyyy is the resolution so low???
Nah, that doesn’t bother me. The magnificence of your videos certainly makes up for it

Maybe because your using a potato.
I've got a Fabia, and it has Apple Carplay & Android Auto. Works exactly the same as the ibiza just on a but of a smaller screen
Thanks for the photo today! Keep doing the best car reviews in Europe and being the great guy you are! Cheers
one is good for the owner and 2 of them are good for the garage.
I think I watch too many carwow videos. Matts reviews are really well made it's enjoyable to watch even though you are not looking for a new car lol
8:46,9:32,10:40 just made this video even better 🤣
Does the Ibiza have the same quality build as the Leon?
Its amazing how my Toyota Yaris II (2007) was such a fun and cinvenient little car. Center console design out of space age, rear seat folding flat, nifty storage spaces everywhere, like that car had 8 cupholders etc. It was a brave design by all means, wrecked by a shitty multimode transmission. Shame. No more brave stuff from Toyota.
Isn't the crease in the dashboard for heating the front windscreen? My last Ibiza had one and my current Leon has one as well although both of them do seem to be further back than the one shown in the new Ibiza.
Awesome video
The funny thing is before Mat began this video of which is better, I was already thinking the Seat was better. Let's be honest. It looks the most pleasant. Practicality is miles better, fuel economy is great. Yeah I too would have chosen it also just one thing that bothers me. Those rear manual operated windows. Does the higher spec get the electric power windows? If not I will definately go for a Ford.
Hi Matt, I really enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work!!
Matt may reply to this.
Any chance of an estate head to head between the Volvo V60 Audi A4 avant and the Mercedes C class Estate/ BMW 3 Series Touring? Great video as always I'd take the Skoda.
Can you make a video about the Mazda 2 SkyActiv G? Thank you!
What would you choose from polo, polo or an older Citroen? Hmmm...
You claim the Yaris is safer yet it lost to the Ibiza pretty much across the board in Euro NCAP crash tests.
@@oxaile4021 The Yaris got five out of five stars in Euro ncap, the same as the Seat Ibiza. So what is your argument? 🤣

@@jhmsmarttv795 Yaris-Ibiza, adult protection 83%-95%, children 80-77%, pedestrian 63-76%, support systems 57-60%. Clear win for the Ibiza, mainly because of adult protection.
@@kostasmats7922 Toyota is still the better car overall. Those marginal numbers doesn't matter as much IRL as on paper. But if that makes you believe Seat makes good cars, please be my guest. 🤣
@@jhmsmarttv795 12% better at adult protection is not marginal at all, it can be life or death in a big crash. You should be more open minded and accept facts, even if you loose an argument. Yes, Seat does make good cars, as does Toyota as does every other major manufacturer. I would definitely take a new Corolla over a Leon but in this case the Ibiza is a better car except for reliability which is, without doubt, Toyota's characteristic as a brand. It doesn't mean though Ibiza is not reliable new tsi engines seem to be ok so far. On the other hand i would definitely consider the hybrid version of the Yaris over an equally priced Ibiza if my priorities were economy, reliability and ease of use, because of the cvt.
What a surprise, two cars from the VW-group again.. you could also have done the Mazda2, Micra, 208, C3, Jazz, i20, Rio or Swift...
I really love Seat cars, they feel more alive and fun and they look good aswell, i still have the old Ibiza and i love it !
Nice choice!
Im about to lease a car for the next 36 months and I think that SEAT Ibiza is my winner for now.
The reliability of the engine is high in all three because Skoda and seat both have VW engines. And the toyotas, well a Toyota
I bought a supermini recently. Looked at pretty much all of them. Because I'm both tall and wide the interior space was most important aspect for me. The Fabia and the Yaris were extremely cramped. The Ibiza was OK, but at the end I didn't buy it, because it was too expensive for the class. I don't consider either of these a top choice.
what was the car you bought?
Toyota Yaris was recently launched as a luxury sedan in India
A mid sized sedan not a luxury one.
Lol. Luxury pricing only. The car itself isn't worth the money.
Kunal Verma that’s why it’s luxury over there because people don’t want to pay much money for a car :)
It's good reliable car.
We are getting this model from Toyota next week and the salesman said we can have a razed floor in the back so we will see?
Here in Brazil the Toyota Yaris is much more beautiful and better finished and very different from the model you have there
Igreja P Nova Aliança Josiel Same in Indonesia :))
Não !!!!...aqui é tosco TB , a vovoyota é tosca
Is it reaaaally that annoying though to have manual windows in the back? @4:18
And i like how the middle console of the Yaris is LOOSE AF but he still manages to make it a positive thing and drag the german cars... that bias
Ibiza is the best!! 🔥
You mean the vw polo because it's basically a vw
@@carholic-sz3qv actually is not the same but whatever...
There are 2 diesel options in the Skoda. I have the 1.4tdi 90bhp and can easily get 65 - 70 mpg.
Since the Yaris will last double as long as the others it's effectively half the price.
