just a note: The way the guy was driving on the last race is actually the optimal way to drive around a superspeedway.

I had seen him before.
It would be very entertaining to watch you do this race with 2 or 3 friends you could coordinate and work together with as teammates.
I am going to say this it's still nascar just early 2000's Freight train restrictor plate style where there was one line (maybe two if an Earnhardt felt frisky) around the track where you just sit and wait for traffic

These are single handedly the most annoying races. I'm currently stuck on the F150 Raptor race. Every time I get the lead the pack catches up and spins me sideways no matter how much I try to avoid contact.
Had to turn the steering assist on for this cluster of a race. Was lucky to survive with P5.

Love oval racing and pack racing too, but for whatever reason, all three races I ran someone took their anger out on me…I don’t understand it. I’m finally racing for hundreds of points instead of tens, but these *PRICKS* completely ruin it.
Maybe I should just grow up and quit playing video games

Two of the leading cars entering the pitlane isn't the truth. One of them (me) missed the pit entry, went over the grass alongside the pits and finally gets reseted back to the pit entry 😅

As an oval racing enthusiast i wish gran turismo would lean into it a little more. I would love a 1.5 mile nascar track or more short tracks in the game

Honestly I love the occasional superspeedway race thrown into the mix. Totally different from circuit racing and it is actually tons of fun. The racing is so close and you have to be so careful with your inputs so as to not cause a big wreck. Then the last two laps are always so exciting because it turns to complete chaos.
That’s nascar in a nutshell doesn’t get enough respect really
Looks like this plays a lot like a bicycle race! Save your legs then sprint from 4th to first using a little slipstream gap for momentum

That's NASCAR for ya. A simple oval like Daytona can cause quite a ruckus for the finish.

Clearly knows how to Oval Racing. High Side = Longer Travel but stronger momentum gain
Oval racing looks more boring than it really is. Tried it for the first time on iracing and was pleasantly surprised by how much it really takes especially when you’re constantly fighting the force feedback for so many laps.
Lol anyone who's done superspeedway races will tell you it's alot of fun. Only idiots talk about it without trying
Not to mention that by being forced into a pack around a circural layout, you have to shift gears (pun intended) about how you drive.
Yeah I don't have much of an interest of going to my local oval race, the Coca Cola 600. I understand the strategy and can enjoy it in moments but good lord that's 400 laps!
The roval however I went to that and had a blast in watching.
@@limbeboy7 I was like that before trying it lol I was just ignorant tho but once I tried it out I felt like I had a whole new understanding of the sport. When your watching it from a Birds Eye view it looks easy I mean it’s just a circle and your Turing left but when your in the cockpit and your in the pack it gets really intense and just turning left becomes a lot harder than one might think lol.
@@valutaatoaofunknownelement197 yeah that’s the best part tho when your in a pack and you can practically trade paint it’s super exciting and then when you see a crash ahead and everyone scrambling to avoid it thats when things get crazy lol.

It was tight. I was the P3 and ran out of fuel 50 meters before the finish line. Dropped from P2 to P3, and almost to P4.
That spaniard in the second race really grinds my gear... They sould stick to Forza instead.
A lot more exciting than I had anticipated, I am now regretting not giving it a whirl.

This guy finally realized how good Nascar racing is
At the end of every video, I become enlightened with the knowledge of the SuperGT.
This circuit reminds me of the Gran Turismo 3 Daytona Speedway 😂 good times.
Gran Turismo 3 has a 'Super Speedway' which is a close copy of Twin Ring Motegi's asymmetric oval, not Daytona's tri-oval.
Remember when gran Turismo 5 did oval racing right?
Never noticed that but there are different races for the different skill groups. The race for Group B was only 15 rounds longs and thereby it was only a speedrace without strategy
It was only a 10 lap race in C. Could only win with the NSX

Didn't know B got a step up in length, had been on fringes of that for a while and then super formula on suzuka got me deep into B, almost A. Loved that race so much.@@Dreamboat1979

That's why I have huge respect for NASCAR drivers. Imagine doing this for 200 laps reaching speeds of nearly 200mph at Daytona or Dega. Can't fathom how it feels when get involved in a "Big One" (basically means a huge pileup)

Everyone should know, you ride the wall high into the turn then fall into a low position to gain optimal speeds...
Staying on the inside was the fastest line in this case though.

@@rockino2562 The inside line was the fastest line in practice sessions and qualifying of this particular race. All the top times were done using only the inside line.
@@djolliea Nah it was only fast because the NSX is the fastest in qualifying and if they were all doing the same lines as that first guy in the first section of the race they would be quicker
@@rockino2562 I don't understand how they (us) would've been quicker using a slower line. I tested almost every car myself in practice sessions, and every time, the inside line was the quickest way to get around the track. If the first guy had stayed on the inside, he might have kept his position longer (like I was leading for 16 laps in the Supra in the 2nd race of this video by staying on the inside) and everyone following would've been even quicker.
Hey Ocon, i have to ask, is GT worth the price, its currently on sale for €50 and im debating whether its worth it or not.

this is why drafting Oval races are so good in Nascar. seems boring, but 36 cars double and triple wide is absolutely intense

This race was lowkey one of the most stressing gaming sessions I've ever had in my life.
I just recently started playing GT7 2 days ago and I have to say I would have never thought I would have so much fun as I have. I am on the final exam for the super license and it is giving me a run for my money for sure. But ill get there and its been fun. I can't wait to get a steering wheel and pedal setup! Love the content!
Auto-resetting the car is not something that a PROPER racing game would do.
Why doesn't any car I have accelerate on the weekly challenge snow track. It's a JOKE. Rigged, almost like EA Sport games
Oval racing is way more complex than it gets credit for. On super speedways it’s more about racing the pack rather than getting a good lap time. On standard ovals there is a very specific type of driving that makes you faster than others. Pretty difficult if you give it a shot.

In NASCAR it is not legal to overtake below the double yellow line. Here the race rules don't care, but you get reset if it's going to cause a big wreck.

Guys nascars at daytona and talladega when in the draft instead of bumping they pull back on the gas to like 70% and stick with the guys in front while the one in front usually wide open so it's a fuel saving strategy

I will never understand how they messed up the pitstops so much, Gt4 had a full animation of the car driving in, getting fueled and the tires changed, everybody on track was visible ALL the time. If you wanted you could stop by the pitlane and watch the others get their stops but now you are not even on the map...
Not to mention the grey and dull tracks.
At least i can take a high res pic of the gearnob in any car and print it on my wall still looking sharp, thanks for that i guess?

Couldn't you have used more fuel in the end? With one Lap to go you had 3 Laps of Fuel remaining and finished with one lap remaining. Why didn't you change the fuel mixture?
Hi,i stopped to play this game months ago....Last race i won it was in a race like this...i was literally tired by unfair players and ridiculous penalty....
This race was brilliant the devs should be proud of this one, super tense very fun. I got lucky in my first race qualified P7 and finished P1 by the grace of god
SuperGT you need to work on your shifting, try and get the optimal point to gain more speed.. should really help in Qually.

The kind of race you'll never see in Forza : Actual fuel / tyre strategy, slipstream, bump drafting, working with other drivers, banking physics, meta cars, good circuits... All of that with high level of respect and skills from the drivers. Try convincing me otherwise.
