I'm always keen for the star field time lapse, this time we get bonus Aurora Australis. So good. That spot looked awesome. Thanks for the vid, as always.
Hi Gido Thanks for sharing your adventures in the south. When I was a kid my father had me collect Abs. He would beat the living daylights out of them and cook them for ages. Tough and unappetising. They used to be called Muttonfish. I have since learnt… get the cooking surface hot and cook for about 30 sec each side dipped in egg and breadcrumbs…or a bit of coke and chilli red hot wok.
Always a fun & exciting experience, Gido! The abalone catching was way cool. Plus the cliff overhang & rock caves. Thanks for taking us along. Texas fans in the house. See you next trip. 🤗👍❤️🇺🇸
You captured another stunning time-lapse of the constellations gracing the southern sky. The setting sun was beautifully aligned with the constellation Scorpio, a breathtaking sight. Living north of the equator, I see these constellations in an inverted orientation compared to their usual view, offering a fascinating and unique perspective. As if that wasn’t mesmerizing enough, the Southern Lights (Aurora Australis) made a spectacular appearance, adding a magical touch to the experience. Moments like these are always a privilege to witness and deeply appreciated
Beautiful capture of the Aurora lights. The fishing wasn't the best this time but you made up for it with the location and Beautiful coastline. Thank you once again for taking us with you.
I have watched you fish on your own in some pretty hairy places...big climbs and slippery spots. I hope you carry an emergency beacon for the possibility of a crippling injury! Another great video...thanks Gido!
Looks awesome, would love to be there. But it does help to finish the Night Shift (european time). :) Thank you kindly for your work and taking us along ❤
hey @Gido, im the flatbread warming solution guy, i.e instead of having them break on you when wrapping lol. For the fish roe, i would suggest a small board and squish it into a paste with some lemon juice and pepper (and if you are inclined very finely chopped onions). You can then spread it on Melba toast (not that big a packet) as a lovely and healthy snack. Some of the left over you can use it as a base for your fish curry. It thickens the juices quite well, but test it, it can be very fishy
in asia we pan fry the fish roe with a little sugar with spring onion and ginger with a little dark soya sauce. its amazing when the sugar balance out the bitterness.
Was fishing in Norway and took a slippery spill on granite like that. Tried your sock trick, and was blown away on how useful it was. So much safe, and so much better. Thanks for that! Never would have guessed it would help, not hinder.
The southern lights were amazing on Friday night. Been pretty cool to watch from out that way. Surprise you didn’t get a few grouper loaded out there. Awesome footage. 👍
I've probably said it before, but you should get your self studded shoes,i use it when wading and fishing along same type structure, and i am a big man at 120kg , and can walk pretty much straight up or down whit out slipping,it was a game changer for me at least
Spent some time in Alaska and the flies and mozzies drove me insane, landed up having to wear a net over my head to keep them out of my ears, eyes, nose and mouth. Thanks for dragging my fat rear end along with you. Cheers mate, keep on hook in and cookin. Ow
For best results with fish roe, ideally you would finely chop some shallots, red onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, beacon and celery. While these items are gently sautéing in 50/50 butter and olive oil find yourselt two firm pieces of firm brown cardboard and a length of garden wire or stout twine. Drain the sautéed ingredients when cooked and place them on one piece of the cardboard along with the, as yet, uncooked roe. Place the other piece of cardboard on top and bind tightly to avoid spillage. The parcel should then be placed in the oven at 180° for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove your parcel from the oven and carefully remove the binding. You should then remove the filling and throw it in the bin. Eat the cardboard, it will taste far better than anything that has been even remotely near fish roe. 😂
Yes lots of Aurora activity lately. This was filmed a few days before I started seeing it all over social media. Would love to see it overhead like you get it in the northern hemisphere. Or Antarctica
Abalone are the perfect foraging food for rock climbers. You get a grip workout when ya catch 'em. Another one as you shuck 'em. And then you get to eat them.
Hey Gido! Could you please explain what the red glow and the red-violet streaks are in the night sky (place 24:40). Here in the north of Norway, they are called northern lights, what about you?
I see you caught a western rock blackfish: suggestion. For us here in the east could you call the name we might use here of the fish. Would help immensely. Live your channel
Giddo have you tried wearing Volleys for the non slip on the rocks. It worked for us roofing years ago . One of the big stores still sells them , i saw some in Morley shopping centre WA.
I’ve tried a few times of skate shoes. Maybe even volleys in the past. They work great on the dry rock but when it gets a layer of black slime I don’t think any type of rubber will help. That’s what I use the socks for and some companies make felt lined shoes for wading rivers with slimy rocks
We are very fortunate in being able to accompany such an ace guide, fisherman, cook and videographer on his adventures, thanks Gido!
Feildays is pretty good youtuber

Inspiration...and Lights!!! What a country.
Wow, amazing Aurora footage - can't believe how busy the sky was!!f
Great. My early Sunday morning UK treat. 😊
Always a fun & exciting experience, Gido! The abalone catching was way cool. Plus the cliff overhang & rock caves. Thanks for taking us along. Texas fans in the house. See you next trip. 🤗👍❤️🇺🇸

Southern lights! Bloody amazing!
Stunning time-lapse footage. Thank you!

You have allways the most beautifull locations mate. I hope to have sometimes a similar camping experience ✌️
Beautiful capture of the Aurora lights. The fishing wasn't the best this time but you made up for it with the location and Beautiful coastline. Thank you once again for taking us with you.
I was lucky enough to be at Bruny Island for the May 11 Aurora activity, and it was epic. Will never miss taking the opportunity when it comes up.
Gido, as your video starts, my mouth starts to water, anticipating what you are going to cook.
i love how every episode is an adventure, and not just oh wow i caught a big fish (although i love the big fish episodes too)
Everyday is an Adventure in Australia because mostly everything around wants to Kill you!
Your night sky views are always spectacular . Keep them coming .
Love the 'sphynx's nose' hanging rock, and the aurora - thanks for taking us to these places
Beautiful scenery, thank you!
First time I see a fish with blue neon colors. Nice video and thanks for sharing.
Another great video Gido 👍
That time lapse was pretty cool to see..

G'day Giddo,
Haven't watched one of your clips in age's! Stay cool mate!!
Another great video and location. The willy wagtail is a good touch.
Your western rock blackfish are our black drummer, bloody delicious on this side of the country!

Great video, perfect cam work, always look forward to your adventures! Fish on....
What fantastic places you find. Awesome
In South Africa we eat Snoek roe, snoek us like Baracuta. Try yours by sprinkling just a but if salt and generous covering of leaf masalla.
You are a legend
Aloha Gido! Awesome Aina ( land) there… Great to see the catch and cook!
The southern lights were amazing on Friday night. Been pretty cool to watch from out that way.
Surprise you didn’t get a few grouper loaded out there. Awesome footage. 👍

that wet granite where it goes black is deadly
That was a super cool time lapse 👍🏻
Always love your videos Gido.

When I saw cardboard mentioned in this I knew what was coming 😆
Amazing time-lapse
Kewpie hack. When you have squeezed the life out of the bottle blow it back up and turn it upside, get the rest of that deliciousness out
Thanks mate excellent as usual. Love the rod cam. Hawrassed multiple times.

Haha yep it happens sometimes
😂❤so nice the nightsky👍🏼👍🏽
Bloody flies mate. I would of left way before you 😆 Thanks for the vid 👍
Epic time lapse!!!
Legendary content as always!
good job gido
That cave overhang looked heavy and ready to fall. Then when you slipped I jumped thinking it had fallen. Glad you’re safe.
Roe is better in batter, protect the eggs from direct heat which is why it tastes powdery. Loved the Aurora. As always another great episode ❤❤
Thanks for the tip. Was stoked to capture the Aurora, was a nice surprise
Love your work mate.
Very beautiful place
Captured a galaxy there too, right above the aurora. Or one of the Magellenic clouds?
😂❤super Location, nice 🐟
Another good one gido
Harassed by Wrasse. Nice time-lapse with aurora australis. 🤓🎣👍
Thanks Gido!
Oh, nice aurora Australis, reds and purples. I'm a bit too far north to see that.
Yeah 👍 buddy nice work 💯🎣
The Northern Lights were seen here in Central Texas, Thursday night this past week!
Yes lots of Aurora activity lately. This was filmed a few days before I started seeing it all over social media. Would love to see it overhead like you get it in the northern hemisphere. Or Antarctica
Wrass makes good slide bait for GT 👌. We use them in Hawaii. It's like candy to them here lol. Smaller size lol.
roe, salt and dry in cheese cloth. add to a litte garlic and white wine for an over sauce
Amazing footage of rocks forms and aurora. Dhufish when? It's been a minute.
I ate a wrasse that I caught in Alaska. It's meat was a pale blue-green color. It turned white after you cooked it. Not bad either.
Indonesia hadirr brooo
Abalone are the perfect foraging food for rock climbers. You get a grip workout when ya catch 'em. Another one as you shuck 'em. And then you get to eat them.
That cove looks like the one in the video when you caught the Samson fish with fly rod😮🤔
Where is this amazing place?I would love to take a vacation here.I love it.
Hey Gido!
Could you please explain what the red glow and the red-violet streaks are in the night sky (place 24:40). Here in the north of Norway, they are called northern lights, what about you?
I mentioned them shortly afterwards. Southern Aurora. We don’t normally see it around here. Only on rare occasions
I wish i can find 1 place like that in indonesia 😍😍😁😁
i like it
I was wondering if you timed it well for the aurora australis........... well done mate, great images
Thanks, it was a fluke. I was out camping a day or 2 prior to hearing that it was happening again.
I see you caught a western rock blackfish: suggestion. For us here in the east could you call the name we might use here of the fish. Would help immensely. Live your channel
Was the blackfish good again? Could you tell the difference between that and the Harley? You should do a series on the undesirable fish and rate them

@gidosfishingadventures ok I got it 👍. Thanks
Hey bud, big fan, love your vids except the ones hanging from your tips. I feel like I'm going to fall. cheers
Do you have halibut there? They are really good to eat. Great videos
Awesome mate. How’d the drummer (aka wrbf) go on the chew?
