To be honest
I perfer the idea Of King Ghidorah being space alien rather than mutated Dorats
Same although i much prefer this rendition of KG in terms of design than pretty much every other one. I will say after they said they was originally planned to be cloned from the now dead original KG I don’t mind it as much but still
It provides excellent inspiration for DnD campaigns funnily enough. 3 pseudodragons forming a threat to the world.
But to keep it in the kaiju niche: yeah, that origin doesn't exactly scream King Ghidorah to me. It's not totally bad, but doesn't work for someone as established as him.
My main problem is that they fuse. How in the world do they do that?

In general, Heisei King Ghidorah tends to be evaluated as weak, but it is actually quite strong because it drives Godzilla into control. And he's not a space monster, but a gentle pet of the future

@@timebrain3188 I remembered that Toho was Supposed to make Godzilla Vs Mechamothra after Godzilla Vs Mothra(the Heisei one) but They're scrapped because They have to killed off Mothra for it (but they can just turn Battra into Mechamothra)

According to the novelization of the film, the Dorats were genetically created from the cells and DNA from the body of a deceased member of Ghidorah's race found on Venus. So this King Ghidorah is rather a Clone, but still keeping elements of its extraterrestrial origins.
This was actually mentioned at 9:29.
It’s agreeable as a Godzilla fan
For some reason I like the idea that KG is basically just an all powerful space dragon that only comes to Earth because he sees Godzilla as a threat to his cosmic supremacy
In terms of Design this is my favorite version of King Ghidorah, however I really don't like his origin and how he pretty much gets his ass kicked by Godzilla, TWICE no less.

I loved Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, As well as the inclusion of Mecha King Ghidorah, however, I wish his Robotic form wasn't so damn frail.
This is in my opinion the weakest version of Ghidorah. He hasn't destroyed any other planets, he has no cool titles like Emperor of the Cosmos, and Godzilla is able to take him on solo when usually Ghidorah requires team-ups for any Earth Monster to stand a chance.

The Dorats can sense human emotions threw microwave impulses... Is it safe to assume King Ghidorah also had this ability... He effectively replaced Heisei Godzilla in this timeline... Imagine being controlled, and attacked by humans your whole life... A freak of nature. A fusion of three artificial pets. Created for nothing more than to destroy. Now imagine having to live with that and feeling the world's hatred and destain for you... Being controlled by the same creatures to fill there own ends... I never thought I would feel bad for King Ghidorah... But damn...
King Ghidorah didn't actually replace Godzilla in the timeline, the Futurians inadvertently created the Heisei Godzilla in the first place whereas King Ghidorah presumably remained dormant on Lagos Island until the Futurians took control of him in 1992.
When I look at Godzilla, I wonder;
Perhaps, Godzilla is not the monster man created, but man is the monster nature created.
This King Ghidorah almost killed Godzilla. He would've destroyed Japan himself *(Although Godzilla will do that regardless)* if it weren't for the nuclear sub enhancing his strength and size he wouldn't have gotten the upper hand.
Except godzilla beat him twice even with the humans helping ghidorah. Also godzilla was poisoned from the events of godzilla vs biollante which is why he was resting at the bottom of the ocean
@@joshuabrown9398 Aye. Compare this to either the Showa era, where he had to be tag teamed to be beaten, or the new 2019 version, where Godzilla needed not one but two power ups to actually kill him, and even then he could return from his severed head
@@timebrain3188 gigan and ghidora couldn't defeat anguirus and Godzilla in a fair 2v2 and I think most will agree gigan is more powerful than anguirus
@@timebrain3188 Ghidora fled not once but twice in 2019. Godzilla was mauling him in his element in the underwater scene and don't forget that ghidorah also received a power up in the movie when he absorbed the city's energy. I know Godzilla got boosted by the sub but the oxygen destroyer took him out of the fight that he was already winning.
Finally Godzilla was able to contain the energy whereas ghidorah simply melted. Godzilla is tougher imo
I wouldn’t say Godzilla is stronger, especially in 2019
Godzilla might be stronger in terms of physical fist fights but given KGs added mobility, beam powers and seriously strong necks (is no one going to mention it yeeted a several hundred ton Showa goji with its heads or that it even picked up 2019 with them in one scene) id say overall he has the edge, especially since several times Godzilla had to team up with other monsters to fight or other outside help such as radiation overdose to win. Sure Godzilla is one tough cookie but KG is definitely a king among kings

Tobi but legendary KG has disproportionately huge wings and a quadruple walking, making it much more like a typical wyvern like rather than the Hesei which always stands tall in a much more terrifying in my opinion.
I take the Hisesi ghidorah over anime ghidorah anyday.
Hisesi ghidorah is the best looking ghidorah to date (until the Monsterverse ghidorah shows up).

Not only that. They even did some few modifications of King Ghidorah. Like he's described as a devil, destroyer of worlds and a rival alpha of Godzilla himself.

So awesome. I had an 18 inch Mecha King G when I was young. Got it at a comic shop years before the movie ever came out. I really love the idea that the dorats were made from a dead Ghidorah so he still is a space monster by technicality. That's going right in my Heisei head canon.

In some ways, Heisei Ghidorah story was similar to Showa Ghidorah, except that he lived a life that was worse than mind control. First off, Ghidorah used to be just a bunch of cute bat things that were cared for by the futerians or whatever their names are. Then they were abandoned by the time traveling crew on the island, most likely confused like kittens after being abandoned by their owners (alongside feeling immense pain from the atomic bomb testing that would happen later), then after becoming Ghidorah, the aliens immediately strip the monster of free will, which means that this ghidorah shouldn't be a villain monster at all. Then Godzilla comes, and then the mind control signal breaks, Ghidorah tries strangling Godzilla out of fear, which ultimately fails and leads to ghidorah's brain dead state. Then as If that wasn't enough they take Ghidorah's body and make a cyborg out of it, robbing it of a potentially peaceful death. Overall Heisei Ghidorah is not that different to Godzilla, as both were abused by man (in the formers case, it was neglect and enslavement.
Someday I hope Mecha King Ghidorah gets a modernized redesign, like Gigan did. As cool as he is, his Heisei design feels kinda overly costume-y, like it looks as though the original King Ghidorah could still be underneath the metal, and something more mechanically integrated could go a long way.

Hell yeah, love the design and story of this King Ghidorah, but the Showa Storyline is still little better when he's an alien dragon.

I'm currently on a Godzilla kick and picked up all the movies (Vs King Ghidorah and Vs Mothra:Heisei era are coming later today) and been binge watching all these profile videos and I'm loving the behind the scene tidbits and footage. You earned a subscriber! I also picked up Vs Biollante and next is the PS4 game. I got Vs KG and Mothra which was almost as much as Biollante but I feel I only stepped foot into becoming a G Fan.

Then Ghidorah faces Godzilla in his divine dragon form once that fails too he land in the landscape where mecha g city was, where he does a fusion with what nanometal is left to because Mecha King Ghidorah. Odd thing to note, but I realized something about the music playing at the end of the video: the Dorats' theme is actually a softer version of Ghidorah's. I'm not gonna lie, that's some pretty good foreshadowing of the Dorats' transformation into Ghidorah.

Mecha-King Ghidorah was one of my favorites to play as in Save the Earth. Gotta love that energy shield. I actually had this movie on VHS and the Mecha-King Ghidorah figure until my dog ate it back in 2002 or so.

The story of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah is just hillariously stupid but it is still a very entertaining Goji-flick. Goji and Ghidorah are depicted in flawless suitmation, the human protagonists are likable and get their fair share of the story not to forget that the movie has a good pacing.
I still love to watch the Heisei-era movies as an adult and appreciate the great childhood memories they gave to me :)
