    Great update! If you remember, my daughter had her surgery (Hamstring graft for ACL and meniscus repair) last Dec. She has just been discharged from the hospital. Full recovery and recent strength tests show operated leg stronger than other one! But she still hasnt returned to football and not sure she wants to risk it even though she was an academy player. Fixing the confidence is a different game - I hope you continue to progress well and thanks so much for the videos, these were so useful to me as her mum to have an idea what to expect. Good luck for the future!

      Hi! Glad to hear your daughter has recovered well! It definitely is a mental struggle to return back to intense sports and trust your knee fully again, but wishing her the best! Thanks for following along :)

    Hi Megan, I just wanted to say thank you for posting these videos. I had an acl reconstruction with my hamstring and also a meniscus repair 15 months ago and I came across your first video by chance and have follwed your recovery journey alongside mine. It has been so helpful to hear and see a real life perspective of the recovery process as it can often be a bit scary wondering if all the aches, twinges and noises are normal! 😳 So thank you for providing some reassurance during an uncertain time❤xx

    Great videos and progress!
    I think I tore my ACL shortly after you did, your progress timeline is also very similar. I had the same issues with my PT place, the first place SUCKED. The doc did go back in on mine to remove scar tissue and clean things up. I was locked just over 90 degrees of bend and she said i would never get anymore after she went back in and saw how much scar tissue developed. my scars are almost gone so i must heal fast internally as well. She also did and MUA.
    I never imagined the mental struggle it was at first but once i was able to get back on my feet it was on!

    I’ve been following your whole journey since we were down around the same time. I’m a year and two months post op meniscus repair, so not as intense as yours. The physical therapy I had been prescribed by my surgeon either wasn’t long enough or the physical therapists didn’t push me to where I needed to be. So most of my strength now is because of myself alone. I am getting more and more strength in it but I’m concerned that one of the worst things happened to me, I don’t believe I have full extension. I can fully extend when I’m standing but trying to lay flat on my bed is impossible. My leg and knee are constantly uncomfortable. It doesn’t just feel like my knee, it’s like my hip and ankle as well. I feel I’ll never be able to be comfortable in bed anymore..

      @@Tylor-r5c I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through that, I know how stressful that can be! It might be helpful to check with your surgeon or a different physical therapist to see if they have any advice for what to do. Wishing you the best!

    I had the same injury, from soccer too, I'm glad you get recovery, don't get afraid of playing soccer again, you can play with the brace and try not to get hard touch with someone, play light with care and always strentgh your quad muscles, BTW ski sport often lead to ACL injury so please take care too, cracking sound will disabear as me just strenth your quad muscle, subscibe to special trainer in the GYM for 3 to 6 months and I'm sure you will see the imporvements.
    Thank you for posting this help full video.

    Your videos helped me a lot as I feel like I had similar struggles (despite having a good PT who’s very good/experienced with ACL injuries). Have you considered hiring an online coach? I think there is still progress you could make if desired.

    Megan, hii.. thank you so much for the update!! Well what a crazy thing knee surgery is, im almost 4 months post op and it has been the most frustrating time... As for me I've made peace with heaviness and neuropathic pain in my foot here and there( maybe due to common peroneal nerve pinching ) and making peace slowly with how my life will feel normal but there will be testing times! But yes thanks a ton for all your video's thats one of the reasons i haven't given up yet!🎀🫶🏻

    Thanks for the update. I’m post 9 months ACL and Meniscus surgery and I can’t sit on my heels either. Does your knee ever pop? Mine did twice today while walking. Kind of scared me. It’s fine now, no pain or swelling.

    I had my MCL surgery in oct 23 and haven’t done my acl and pcl surgery yet. I was 4 weeks late doing PT because they never reached me out til I started doing PT in Dec 6. Yesterday was my 3rd week (usually do it at home and only go to rehab once a week). In my 1st week I only had 30 degrees, My 2nd week was 53 degrees. My 3rd week (yesterday) was painful as hell that I even cried and screamed and only got into 58 degrees. I am so late and its supposed to be my 8th week now and should be at 90 degrees. Now, my Dr and PT said that they have to force to bent it to get to 70, 80, and 90 in just a week. I feel like I dont wanna do it anymore.

      @@Zambeee0303 I’m sorry you’re going through that! Hang in there, it gets a lot better as time goes on. Sometimes having the procedure where your surgeon bends the knee for you is what you need to kick start the rest of your recovery process. Wishing you the best!

    After your quad graft option & your experience with it, if you had to choose all over again would you change it or are you happy with your decision?

    • @megmed2860
      @megmed2860  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@fenixxx56 that’s a great question, I think overall I’m fine with my choice and would do it again. I would maybe consider a hamstring autograft just because of the stiffness and trouble I had with ROM due to the quad graft site, but I don’t think I would consider a patellar tendon graft if given a redo just because of the long term anterior knee pain that is pretty well documented with that graft. Interesting to think about but I don’t think I would 100% have done something different.

      @@jacobgamble5141 Thanks for following along! Sorry to hear about your kneecap! I sometimes feel a bit of a popping sensation when squatting or going up stairs but not always, not sure if it's normal so I would go with whatever your doctor is advising. I think the crunching/noise is normal from all the scar tissue in the knee after surgery. Not sure if it ever goes away but guessing it gets better over time!

    Hi, When you ride a bike, do you feel pain at the end of the day?

    • @megmed2860
      @megmed2860  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It depends how long of a ride, but for the most part biking doesn't cause much pain! More so running or high impact things.
