I really like this unit, it is so satisfying to use. Especially against the units it was intended to use against. *But* these fights dont take equal resources into consideration. Still a strong unit.

How to counter Leitis: Don't research any armor, and use the saved resources to make more troops and wipe them out. Then research armor ASAP so you don't die to everything other than the Leitis.
It suffers against trash units in late imperial. Only thing going for the Leitis is it's ability to delete highly armored and gold intensive units. If you pump out raw hitpoints with food and wood the leitis will get swamped. Given equal villager count and worktime on both sides.

Who else uses an archer units like that? Also, most of the fights aren't nearly fair. In AOE2 same quantity of the units (if we speak about different nations) = completely different amount of the resources spent on them.
Well it still has all the usual counters, needs to be made at castles, plus it's slightly weaker vs ranged attacks when compared to their paladins. So while it's a very powerful unit ironically it has very situational use. Kinda like how Persian war elephants are the best unit in the game but are rarely seen in competitive play and are more of a liability than a powerhouse unit.
The thing about them is that a) they have fairly high health b) you can increase it with Husbandry c) fairly high damage and d) fairly good cost ratio. None of those stats alone are "blow you out of the water" good, like war elephant health, or the damage, but it's the combination of everything being "fairly good" that ultimately sets them above most other units.
I suppose Leitis in the video are witouth 4 relics minimum. What I want to know how thy fare against other unique units with having at least 4 relics because my friend always gets 4 relics. Can you do that video or just answer me which unit can counter them in that case?
The point of Genoese Crossbowmen is to perform better against cavalry than regular archers. Also it did'nt look like these fights were set up with equal resources in mind.

Brokenly overpowered unit. The fact that they defeated all but three other units (even Samurai!) proves how incredibly unbalanced they are, even without their relic bonus. Give them their relics and they'd probably have beaten the mamelukes and Imperial camels, too. Cheaper and much stronger than paladins, with armor ignore. And they've been buffed several times since this video was made. Like, how? Why make an overpowered unit cheaper and stronger?

The Leitis ( or Leičiai in Latvian language ) was a social group and soldiers ( ANY tipe of SOLDIER ). this unit was invented by the developers, to try to face teutons and slavs civs... but... broke the balance of all units... medium cav. fucking the bonuses of Samurais or Kamayuks, ignoring of spearlines, devast the heavys cav. of any civ. cataphrats, tarkans, mongols heavys, anythin. They dont have any sense and need a Nerf express now.
Bruh they have their weaknesses, War elephants beat every other unit 1v1 but they aren't considered OP. Liths are very weak early-mid game before castle age, no eco benefits except for the +150 food on start. They also don't get the final armor upgrade for infantry. Easy counter is to send halbs + any archers, they melt leitis very fast.

Leitis are absurdly overpowered. They're like cataphracts on steroids, and those guys by themselves were extremely powerful. So yeah.
