Flyfishing in London : Carp on the fly : Urban flyfishing

Myself and fishing buddy hit a tiny London stream for a spot of downstream nymphing. The method we used is demonstrated by its originator Skateboard Dave (Dee Egginton) in the link below.
This river has an interesting assortment of species ranging from roach, rudd, gudgeon, perch, dace, chub, carp and even tench.

There are two lakes that are connected to the stream. The carp come in somehow from the lakes, most of which are around the 1lb mark.

There are tench in their too which for me is what's keeping me returning.

The only coarse species I caught on a lure was a big ass canal bream

All my carp from that river have been caught on a squirmy and if you look closely you can see Dom's pink beaded squirmy in the carp's mouth. I've landed one on a very small bread fly too.
