Great stuff, I’ve caught barbel on convention gear - on the tip, trotting etc I can only imagine the fight on fly gear. The video captured that really well, all the best.
Lovely guide and missing barbel on the local ! Looking forward to the next film. Great work from D and glad to have had the pleasure of fishing with him.
Hello my friend and congrats for the fantastic video and fishing. Barbel fly fishing in fast water is only for masters. My favorit species and i love to catch them with bread on the surface . Have a great weekend and good fishing 💯🎣🇵🇹
I am very impressed with your flip casts. To do that with heavy lures is difficult but with a nearly weightless fly. Chapeau. Nice video keep up the good work. A Bavarian fisherman’s good luck wish - Petri heil.

They fight really well on a fly rod but on this stream I fish quite heavy and play them quickly.
Great vid Tim and solid angling Dom 🔥 really enjoyed this! Nice to learn a thing or two as well

Some great music choices Tim. Lovely video.
Music is courtesy of a friend who has a small record label.
Fair play to you for mentioning the foul hooking of fish. And that it will happen. I used to fish for them years ago...
Yeah, I felt it was an important point to highlight as it is sadly part and parcel.

Unfortunately our species only feed on the bottom, they won't rise up to take dries.
Enjoyed that! Great presentation and videography skills :)
Many thanks for the kind words, next one currently in the editing phase.
Great video mate! Those barbels look like good fish to catch.
Yes they are, not many rivers in the UK that are suitable for barbel on the fly but if you do find a river they're well worth targeting.
Barbel on the fly is good sport. Lovely video.
Many thanks for taking the time to watch it.
Great stuff as always. Inspiring!
Keep your eyes peeled for the next one due in a fortnight!

5.5mm tungsten is a fair but of weight which makes bow and arrow casts fly out. Many thanks for watching.
Great stuff, gents!👍 Smashing little film!👏🎣
Many thanks for watching Geoff.... the Derwent looks a good localish option for you?
Thanks for having me on, glad I could put fish on the bank for you.
I've got ideas for a much bigger film if you're interested in participating.

Nice video Tim….👍👊
Great video! Thank you Tim👍👍👍
Great Film. well done.
Great video thank you !
Great video. What rod and reel are you using as they look very balanced.
It's a Greys Kast 9.6ft 7wt. I don't know what reel he was using. Longs rods help as your nymphing.
Very interesting - thought once spooked they are gone forever. Next step: Look for barbel water 🎉
No, they're like grayling in that you stand right next to them most of the time.
