Great stuff, I’ve caught barbel on convention gear - on the tip, trotting etc I can only imagine the fight on fly gear. The video captured that really well, all the best.
They fight really well on a fly rod but on this stream I fish quite heavy and play them quickly.

Hello my friend and congrats for the fantastic video and fishing. Barbel fly fishing in fast water is only for masters. My favorit species and i love to catch them with bread on the surface . Have a great weekend and good fishing 💯🎣🇵🇹
Unfortunately our species only feed on the bottom, they won't rise up to take dries.

Yes they are, not many rivers in the UK that are suitable for barbel on the fly but if you do find a river they're well worth targeting.
Fair play to you for mentioning the foul hooking of fish. And that it will happen. I used to fish for them years ago...

I am very impressed with your flip casts. To do that with heavy lures is difficult but with a nearly weightless fly. Chapeau. Nice video keep up the good work. A Bavarian fisherman’s good luck wish - Petri heil.
5.5mm tungsten is a fair but of weight which makes bow and arrow casts fly out. Many thanks for watching.

Great video. What rod and reel are you using as they look very balanced.
It's a Greys Kast 9.6ft 7wt. I don't know what reel he was using. Longs rods help as your nymphing.

No, they're like grayling in that you stand right next to them most of the time.
