    Loved this one just like always.
    Big up Ellie for battling against the social media weirdos and making about the fish and the love of angling.

    Lovely video- really captures many of the reasons I fish, and on a piece of river I have a particular affinity for, having made many of my first experiments, mistakes and successes in river fishing and fly tying over the last couple of winters. I also love that it’s free and the fish are wild. I think I caught that big one in the same spot last winter - it’s a beauty…

      It's a lovely bit of river and certainly gives a lot of people a chance to fish this kind of river without having to shell out lots of cash. And that fish was truly stunning.

      The name and location of the river were not named to avoid causing any added pressure - I'm sensing that you may know it?

    Pity about all the waste in the river. Other than that, a lovely outing. And you have answered a question I posted elsewhere regarding the use of conventional trout indicators. Thank you 😊

    Awesome! 👌😍. I've been following your film work since the beginning, mate, but now with this film you've taken a fantastic step forward in the direction of professionalism. This short film can be played anywhere, anytime, and it holds its own among the big films! I know that there is a lot of work in it, not only the technology that made it great, but also the Human! Huge congratulations to him!

    Enjoyed this one - it looked like you were using a new camera and/or lens? You certainly make sure to maintain the urban motif with the close ups of the rubbish in the waterways! As a suburban fly fisher (saltwater) myself the last 15 years the idea of fishing in a pristine wilderness mountain stream seems like a scene from another planet! Keep the content coming!

    • @flyfishinglondoner
      @flyfishinglondoner  ปีที่แล้ว

      Same camera/lens set up since last May. I was using a monitor, focus puller and cage for the first time. Image quality is actually worse in parts than last vid as I pushed colours too much which caused artifacts.

      @@flyfishinglondoner Ahh - the challenges of technology - the best fishing is usually in the most challenging lighting. Hoping to put together a video of mullet chasing in a mangrove creek with houses all over the backgrounds ... try to get similar vibe to your style but didn't actually dialogue with the angler.

    Great to see the success in the urban rivers paricularly as Grayling need clean water..
    er wonder if there might be a spring hatch of flies.
    Yes Thymallus pulls hard with that sailfin...and can be very obliging to the fly
    Yes great to be out doors with our historic sport..go for the adrenalin and keep tying the hares ear beadheads.
    Klink and dink is a good method...yes it works on the Northern streams or Welsh Dee which is an excellent grayling river.
    Spring and the trout ...and riverside birdsong will be with us again.
    ....and the wading and hoping for salmon

    I love how in the beginning you just give us little partial views of Ellie. (Ooh I got to the part where she talks about not showing her face on socials! Now it makes more sense ... though I did like the idea of a tease in the beginning and then doing a reveal)
    It's also interesting to remember that those in other countries often have to pay per stretch to fish.
    THe shots of trash in the river are sad to see, but that's often the life of an urban stream.

    • @flyfishinglondoner
      @flyfishinglondoner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of that river is run by different clubs, often requiring a lengthy stay on a waiting list. Day tickets on said river depending on the season can run to three figures. It's worse in the SE, once you elsewhere prices are reasonable, dirt cheap or free!

      @@flyfishinglondoner do the free sections get really busy?

    • @flyfishinglondoner
      @flyfishinglondoner  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker Variable. The further out of cities you go the less busy. That said there are some places that are still lightly fished gems.

      I won't name the river but it's 1-2hrs from London by car/train depending on where you live. It's a very well known stretch that can be found with a little effort on Google. Tight lines.
