Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on TH-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on TH-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on TH-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

When I was about 8 years old, I used to call our local radio station (K--MEN!) and request Sammy Davis Jr.'s "Candy Man" and the DJ would laugh and usually play it for me, often right after Led Zeppelin or Derek and the Dominos. Good times back in the day! Thanks Sammy and Shawn.

@@flubblert It was #1 for a few weeks actually, and I believe was knocked out by "Lean On Me". I remember as a kid I was bummed lol
Nitty Gritty can't be beat. Sammy makes this a Broadway show style, but it lacks the soul of NGDB.

Sammy Davis Jr. was Mr. Entertainer. Beloved by everyone. He ruled Las Vegas, and was indeed part of the legendary rat pack with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and Joey Bishop. If you watch the original film "Ocean's Eleven" 1960, you'll see them all in action. This became his signature song. He performed it all over television and during his live concert performances.
Highly recommend you check out that Nitty Gritty Dirt Band version as well. Pretty big hit when it came out. Great analysis/reaction as always. 👍👍

Thank you for this. Sammy Davis was perhaps one of the biggest talents ever to grace a stage. He could act, dance ... and his voice was outstanding. Watch him as "Sporting Life" in Porgy and Bess (first all-black musical/opera), singing "It ain't necessarily so" -- it'll blow your mind.

Love that song. When Sammy Davis delivers it, it often leaves me a blubbering wreck. It's so moving. Sammy was incredibly talented, seems he could turn his hand to any firm of entertainment, and be good at it.
The Rat Pack were a bunch of actirs/ entertainers who often appeared in films together - Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin. - Robbo and the Seven hoods was one I remember that was typical of there stuff.
Nice pick today. Glad you went for it, it's so cool.

I saw Sammy 3 times in Australia, the last time in 1989, with Lisa Minnelli and Frank Sinatra. I love him so much. He is the supreme performer - beautiful voice, great dancer, comedian, actor - he had it all. I cry every time I hear him sing this song.

I'm glad you reacted to the song. Sammy does a great job of the song, and Sammy Davis himself could really dance, but Jerry Jeff Walker wrote it and does the best job by far. David Bromberg, who played with Jerry Jeff for years, does an amazing job of it as well -- and tells how it was written.
