As someone who worked in marketing for BMW, Royal Enfield have nailed it by looking after the bike TH-camr influencers so well. It's marketing 101, full marks. Triumph could learn a thing or two. PS great bike
When the 1st REs showed up near me I was intrigued enough to look them over. I can say that I was impressed by the styling and quality. The 350 Meteor fit me well, even at 6' tall. Someday I may have give up my Harley due to age so I'm preparing myself.
The Young RE CEO when took over, it was a game changer for this company. Being a part of Rider Community himself across the US, UK, Japan and the Alps he has first hand experience of how & whom to Target first instead of Car sales like Business Approach. Once the regional riders give it a shot, and have satisfactory feedback at the relatively low price, buyers flock in. This is how RE kicked off sales in Japan for its Meteor & Classic in the 350 segment.
It is a well known brand. What is happening is that they are doing so great that are spreading in all those countries that they missed in the past and they are doing it very successfully. The price tag and design is a win win combo in my opinion. Drop by bro, you may like my content. :)
It's nice to see the British countryside again!. Also the bike and a lovely young lady... As a Yank Airman stationed in Oxfordshire for 4 years, i miss my Yamaha 750 and touring the UK a lot!...
Great review! About 50 years ago I had a RE 500 Twin, 1952 model. It had been rebuilt by my late father who was a competition mechanic (built & prepped engines for Le Mans and rallies) and the top speed went from around 70 mph to over 100! It had reverse cone megaphones and sounded glorious, had loads of grunt even at low revs - I really would have liked a front disc brake though! It handled really well - as noted by my footrest rubbers being worn away from fast cornering. Happy days.
Same as you, I really grew to love the heel-toe shifter in the meteor and the relaxed feeling of riding with it. So when I put money down for a Super Meteor the first thing I did was order one from India. They are not very expensive so I think it's really worth getting one. Though it's slightly annoying that in India they sell the Super Meteors with heel-toe shifters from factory, but they install regular ones for the bikes destined for the European market. The heel-toe shifter also has the added benefit of not causing wear to the top of your riding boots. In the past I've had to either repair or throw away perfectly good boots because I wore them down so much from upshifting that I ended up developing a hole. Good motorbike boots are pricy so in that sense, at least for me, in the long term it will also work out cheaper to get the heel-toe shifter installed.
I have the heel toe shifter on my ct90.. can't get used to it, but then the ct90 is a kid's bike and I'm 6-2. Circus bears riding tricycles have the same problem.
I quite like the look of these bikes ...especially the green and black ..however i saw one last week ..with a RE optional extra dual seat ...wow . That really set the bike off ...another hats off for Royal Enfield.
Great review Bry, I live in Kent and love riding around Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Good to see a young lady riding a motorcycle, hope you have many happy years riding and making memories!
I bought a Super Meteor 650 last week and great bike. I am 190 cm and coming from Harley's and Indians and this a much easier bike to handle when you ride like me short distances. My last Indian had a lot of technical problems and cost 22K, so sold it bought this and VW beetle from 1972 and still have a full wallet 🙂
I bought one. Much lighter than my old Hartley cruiser I might add. And heading towards 70 not a bad thing with my arthritis. So far can't really fault it apart from my android mobile won't chat with it. My grandsons iPhone on the other hand not a problem? Enjoyed watching this vid girl so thanks for sharing your thoughts on the RE Super Meteor 👍😉.
Thanks for the good review, Bry. Super Meteor is a great looking and sounding bike. It’s becoming a tough choice to decide which one of the REs to choose. All very good retro classics. Cheers, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
I have the celestial blue model with the screen and backrest. At 6 foot I find the bike extremely comfortable, I wasn't a cruiser guy until I sat on one of these at the Scottish Bike Show earlier this year. Below 60 I find the screen useful, over that speed I get some buffeting in my face. Fine with a full face or flip front but it's a pain when I have the open face helmet on. I don't need the backrest but it comes in handy for strapping a bag to. Compliments my Classic 500 beautifully. A good overall initial review of the bike. Hope you have it a bit longer so you can give a longer term view of how it is for anyone not sure if it's suitable for them. I'm a big fan already.
I have the interstellar green, I got the screen and touring seat all for 6999. Only done 200 miles so far, but am enjoying it. First service coming up.
I felt in love with this bike. Nice review!! I just made on step forward to buy this bike instead of vulcan s 650. I loved the sound and the built. Pure classic. Many thanks!!
I was so charmed with the Vulcan S, untill I took one for a test drive. What a nervous bike, in my opinion. Very high revving compared to other bikes and vibrates quite a lot too. This wasn't the bike for me to downsize from my Honda Varadero 1000cc twin.
You’ve become really good at doing these reviews, Bry. Did you adjust the rear suspension or just leave it as provided by the dealer? IMHO I think dealers should always set SAG and suspension for the customer at delivery - what do you think?🕊️
Nice Review Bry… I looked at this exact bike today and loved it. Very comfortable to sit on and the two tone paint scheme is fantastic…. Test ride next week😊
I prefer the looks to many of the other modern cruiser-style bikes on the market at the moment. There's plenty of scope for mods, but I could very easily live with it stock.
Really amazed to learn that you have the same horse power laws than we have here in France. 47 HP for new drivers, during 2 years before having access to higher power.
The motorcycle is really nice. But precisely because of the position of the feet, I think that the Royal Enfield GT 650 would Seem a better choice ( for my liking of course) Over all, the Royal Enfield bikes are great 👍 especially if you want a bike that can cruise... And for me, 47 horses is plenty to enjoy the road... I've personally seen a motorcycle mechanic take the GT 650 with "Pirelli Diablo tyes" on the Twisties. He blew my mind!! Don't let thinner tyres fool you, this guy was leaning using the end of the tyres, simply amazing how this bike performed on those roads!! In the near future, I may get the Royal Enfield GT 650, seems like the perfect bike for my needs😊 Thx for the review and helpful information Safe riding ✌️
I've wanted to test ride one since I first saw it. Thank you for doing such a great review from a rider's point of view. I needed that. No one is talking about the fact that, being a touring bike, it is not a belt drive. My INT650 was chain drive but I tour full time and the have chain, clean, lube, and adjust every 1,000km/620mi which for me can easily having to stop for chain service twice or three times a week. I can do 600 miles in a day on occasion. No one has paid attention to the service schedule on the Super Meteor. They have cut the scheduled service on the chain in half. Maybe they are using a different chain manufacture which is not as reliable? They chain service interval is 500km/310mi. That a two tank day for me which means on the Super Meteor I would have to constantly carry cans of cleaner and lube and rags to service my chain at the end of each day. If you are touring with your touring bike you would like it to be service free for 3,000 miles, not 310 miles. But thank you so much for your review. I think this will be my next bike as soon as they or someone else comes up with a Belt Drive conversion kit like I did on my INT650. 34,000 miles now with no mess on my wheel or saddlebag and no servicing. Plus, a Sportster guy just told me his belt lasted 100,000 miles. A chain won't do that.
This isn't here in the US yet. It really specs out well, and it's gorgeous, but those legs forward controls are too HD for me. Rumor has it that they may mount them back more for this market. I hope so.
@@VejaySarathy It may have launched, but it hasn't arrived at any local dealerships yet. I'll wait for the just announced Shotgun now, since it's much more my style of motorbike.
Great review! Id love to have one! Wow, the countryside you have there is so beautiful. Those tunnels of green are awesome! Here, the county would be out spraying poison and taking huge 'brush hog' mowers to massacre each side of the road. It looked magical as you were riding through them. Thank you.
I owned one of these - but only for about a week! Just wasn’t right for me - pros; cheap for a new bike, looks smart; ergos good for tall riders; useful fuel range; cons: weedy power, quiet and not much soul, suspension jarring, service costs and intervals are wallet draining. Not for me for the commute but good for a Sunday afternoon blast! Good review, lots of hype over this bike but my suggestion is do a test ride before you believe the hype 🤟
I test rode it and it was very impressive, very smooth gear changes and incredible control for a cruiser. Didn't get it though for the reasons you said, not much soul, feels bland.
As usual a really good review from Bri as usual. Howeve I don't like that cruser styling particularly the rear end, I much prefer traditional styling. Regarding a screen, yes they're very good for someone small like you but not if you're tall. Then they just deflect the wind straight into your face and make riding at speed unpleasant over a long distance. I found that my Bandit, an excellent bike, was particularly a bad example of this.
Love your channel. Love the bike. Thank you for the review. I'm 5'4 so may consider the Interceptor. I have a harley sportster low, but with a pillion, it's a bit unbalanced and sluggish.
This is not some Chinese brand. It's a well established brand in India with high manufacturing quality.Royal Enfield bikes 25 years old are a common sight on Indian roads.
I have a Classic 500, not a patch on this for quality however it gets cleaned, dried and polished regularly. No issues with the finish on it after two years and nine thousand miles. I ride all year round so both my bikes are out in the rain and what not. Keep them clean, dry them properly and they'll be fine.
6:44 Easter 🥚: check out near the tool box, near the keys. Flip open the round cap to find USB charger port.. from meteor 350.. enjoy the beauty. Nice review!
I love the look of the bike and you told me everything I wanted to know so thank you. My only two gripes are it’s 150 cc more than my Honda Rebel but the same horsepower. Also, it’s so much heavier so surely would be left behind the rebel.
I tried this back to back with the vulcan, Honda Rebel and Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster in that order. Talk about leave the best till last. Cost more but the Speedy is perfect for me.
@razzle1964 All new except the Vulcan which was about 2 yrs old. Mind you, if mine was stolen and I had the cash back I'd probably go for the RE and use the difference to fund a few trips.
@@paulyflyer8154 Yeah, that’s kinda why I asked & was trying to figure the logic - if you had something like 12 grand to splash, why even bother looking at the others in the first place? (you could even have bought two Rebels for the same price, lol)!
@razzle1964 The Rebel made sense on paper with honda reliability etc but the looks didn't do it for me tbh. I think it's trying too hard to look like a Harley, so if I liked those I'd have got a used Harley I think.
@@paulyflyer8154 Many, many, many years ago, a mate & I had gone to the UK Motorcycle Show. He bought a lovely, new, blue Harley. His first bike. He lived in North London. It got stolen within a week. He bought a Monstera with the insurance payout. Go figure! 😉✌️
Im looking to buy motorcycle after 20 years I'm considering this one plus Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 and Moto guzzi V7. Surprisingly all 3 dealers are in Rochdale so will try to test drive all of them in one go
Maybe not yet but the Enfield usually has very good aftermarket and accessory support plus easy to tinker with yourself if you are into that sort of thing.
Late last year I bought a Guzzi V7 850 Stone as a second bike to knock around on for area rides and I absolutely love it! Admittedly, I didn't try the RE 650s, but that was primarily because the Stone seemed a bit better value to me with it's shaft drive, significantly more power, and because I was able to get one in the color I loved for not that much more than a 650 RE. Plus I love they're built in Italy and I'm fortunate enough to live near one of their top dealers who are great to work with. All that said though, from what I've seen and read about RE the last few years I wouldn't hesitate to suggest to both new and experienced riders I know to check them out. I think they're great looking bikes and the Super Meteor seems to have a nice throaty exhaust note for stock.
It needs a heel/toe shifter, I agree. Also RE needs to update that speedo. It's been unchanged on all their bikes for years, it just looks cheap and tired now. The bike is still way more interesting than the Rebel 500 though.
Sounds much nicer than my 2020 5,000 klm classic 500 with a bad crankshaft. Been thinking of scrapping the bike and getting one of these 650's but I'd need to sit and do a tial ride first.
I'm umming and ahhhing between this and the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. Tried the V100 already last week. Great bike for me or for both of us. Special offer too as they are 1000 euros cheaper this month. Will be trying the Meteor next week. 8000 euros against 14000 euros for the V100. We are so lucky to have such a great range of bikes available to us nowadays.
For some reason we can't get any of them in U.S.A. There are all of the others available. Rumor had it, would be here in of Summer. But the dealer says they know nothing :(
Please put your toes on the foot pegs not the heels. This will make your ride much more stable and saver. Don't worry, it will not effect emergency braking timing in a negative way. This was one of the first things I have been taught in an advanced rider course. If you don't believe, just have a look where the Moto GP riders have their feet positioned.
Young lady I salute you...or rather I tip my hat to you, I have been riding mostly Custom/Cruiser/Bobber style bikes for 32 years and a wind screen on a bike like yours or mine which is the same style but a different brand is horrible, it really hurts the eyes. My philosophy is if you ride cruisers DO NOT put wind screens on them, it defeats the entire purpose of a cruiser.
Look so much better with spoke wheels. 240 kg...are you sure....my T100 is 220kg. Exhaust looks to big and why is the number plate mounted so low..........other wise nice.
Rider's Height and Inseam Length would be useful . Small Rider makes bike look bigger . Big / Tall Riders make bike look smaller . If rider does not want to disclose numbers , have them walk by reference objects , like a Fire Hydrant .
Bry, how do you say your name? Is it Bry as Fry or as in Breeze. 😅 Just came to my mind. - This bike has Suspension issue particularly at the pillion. You took your mother only when RE the model has a stiffness issue.
You talk about the build quality. But you also missed that the most of the parts are made real metal. And you miss the USB port. The rear disc brake is larger than the same category interceptor and the continental GT
Royal Enfield, back in the 50s and 60s produced an excellent bike. Next to the Norton these two bike were considered the Rolls Royce of the British bikes. As a 17 year old kid I owned both bikes not because I was from a rich family, but lived next to several colleges and when the students left school they had no use for the bikes and these guys would sell pennies on the dollar. I’m still a rider with a small collection. I also dabble with restoration projects. I had an opportunity to ride the new Enfield Metro 650. The Enfield Indian manufacturers have produced a fairly nice bike for the cost. However, it’s nothing like the original productions. Enfield seems to have in mind to paint everything flat black finish. Forward controls, engine cases, fork legs, handle bars, and chain cover. The younger folks think that’s ok. But if they ever see the original bike from 65 years ago they’d dump this cheap look black. Enfield produces a 350cc that isn’t screwed over with the cheap black finish. The thought of taking a restored 50s Caddy convertible and take a bunch of spray cans of black paint and spraying the entire car, and all the chrome finish. That would be a sin. This is what Enfield did to their classic bikes. Just sad to sell it with this ugly look.
if you are not from the UK , it is difficult to understand , you talk to quikly. and verder it is a nicy video , but can you make a U turn on the road with the 650 royal enfield ???
Style of this bike is good but pegs are forward which means the Interceptor is the one I buy - center foot pegs & foot controls. Absolutely do not like that headlight on this bike or this type headlight on any bikes. Sealed beam Glass Quartz is the way to go.They give you the (right colors) at night & are plenty bright. Love the tool kit thing, great idea.
Although I have booked the 650 in May 23, my only concern is TURNING RADIUS, any comments from anyone who has been riding the bike is welcome. thank you.

Go figure! 😉✌️
Im looking to buy motorcycle after 20 years
I'm considering this one plus Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 and Moto guzzi V7.
Surprisingly all 3 dealers are in Rochdale so will try to test drive all of them in one go
Moto Guzzi V7 850 Special
@@asanrushid4981 yes, but not necesserily special
Maybe not yet but the Enfield usually has very good aftermarket and accessory support plus easy to tinker with yourself if you are into that sort of thing.
Moto Guzzi V7 850 special is the way forward 👍🏽
Nice review Bry, thanks.
Excellent review ! Thank you.
It needs a heel/toe shifter, I agree. Also RE needs to update that speedo. It's been unchanged on all their bikes for years, it just looks cheap and tired now. The bike is still way more interesting than the Rebel 500 though.
Great review. Thanks for sharing😊
Great video, very well presented. Lovely bike too.
Enjoyed the detailed review. 😎 I prefer lighter weight motorcycles as well.
Sounds much nicer than my 2020 5,000 klm classic 500 with a bad crankshaft. Been thinking of scrapping the bike and getting one of these 650's but I'd need to sit and do a tial ride first.
Excellent review - well done and thanks 🙏
You handled the weight like a boss! As to Guinevere'esque MC reviewers such as yourself, Lancelot would have said.. she is the boss! 😄
Beautiful girl. Beautiful bike!
Great review , great looking bike at this price point. I wish UK would get rid of those Horrendous Huge Number Plates 🙂
Royal Enfield of late has shifted making motorcycles suited to Indian roads.
This is one motorcycle not meant for Indian roads.
only thing i don't really like is the navigation thing i would never use it but the bike seems to be really good overall?
Classic 350 is my favorite 🤩
Great review! Which helmet are you wearing (the red one)? Thx!
Gorgeous 😊
hp licence i dont understand.as ive got a 535 virago 48hp and ive got it up to 100.mph, so were is the lodic in that.
Go for V100
Nice review, enjoyed it
Love Royal Enfield 650
For some reason we can't get any of them in U.S.A. There are all of the others available. Rumor had it, would be here in of Summer. But the dealer says they know nothing :(
Please put your toes on the foot pegs not the heels. This will make your ride much more stable and saver. Don't worry, it will not effect emergency braking timing in a negative way. This was one of the first things I have been taught in an advanced rider course. If you don't believe, just have a look where the Moto GP riders have their feet positioned.
That might make sense if she rode a Moto GP bike…
The throttle sounds so good
Nice job, Bry
I like this Re super meteor 650👍😊
So beautyful bike....
EVERY THINK IS GOOOD , IS IT ENGINE PAINT ING IS GOOD OR ROUGH LIKE METEOR 350, HOW IS IT DIFFERENCE DURING RIDING BETWEEN 350 METOR
Beautiful both 💕
Young lady I salute you...or rather I tip my hat to you, I have been riding mostly Custom/Cruiser/Bobber style bikes for 32 years and a wind screen on a bike like yours or mine which is the same style but a different brand is horrible, it really hurts the eyes. My philosophy is if you ride cruisers DO NOT put wind screens on them, it defeats the entire purpose of a cruiser.
How does it fair when going 75-80mph/ 120/125kmph? On a constant ride
240 kgs !!!!
My RT 1200 is 280 with a full tank...
But this bike is beautiful, indeed.
please Ur kind advice Triumph speed 400 or Royal Enfield 650 Super meteor ?????????
Great review.
❤ from India. I own a Royal Enfield bullet 350 x standard kick start.
I'm new to this channel.. I wonder what is that sort of spitting sound? is that an audio glitch?
what about the heat management?and the position of the usb socket?
@@michaelmurdock4607 I was asking about the review.
Sorry, I forgot to mention-shes 60 years old. Doug🇺🇸🏍️🦁
This bike is an unique.
The Super Meteor is currently available starting around £3355 ex-showroom in India.
In Indonesia, has this super meteor 650 but it's the rarest.
Never heard paint called a colour way before😊
😍😍😍
Although I have booked the 650 in May 23, my only concern is TURNING RADIUS, any comments from anyone who has been riding the bike is welcome.
thank you.
Hello from Türkiye İzmir city
I liked it and will buy
