I have an older iPad Pro, and don’t know anything about the newer ones. But the iPad Pro is not waterproof. I’ve used it on non-rainy days with navionics and it’s freaking awesome for that.
I think its a great idea and it will allow people that might not be able to afford or just might not want to spend the money on a traditional FFS system to be able to enter the market. I think the biggest limitation this system will have is temperature. I don't think an iPad is going to handle a later spring, summer or early fall where I live in Louisiana. but the guy that's buying this system might also only fish the early mornings or late evenings when it isn't as hot. If you can work around the limitations, it could be a good product. It will definitely drive the Garmin, Lowrance and HB guys to do more to keep business in their corner. as one of your commenters said on this video.... competition is good for the consumer. Who knows, you might be able to adapt it to another type of display that handles the temps and still doesn't cost a lot.
I tend to agree, heat seems the enemy of the system, I do however think that may be solved by having covers that make is so the sun doesn't shine directly on the device or maybe there could be an option for cases with heat sinks on that help transfer some of the heat. The company should probably tackle that aspect as well.
Ipad/iphone wont 't work in practice in below 0 degrees celsius. I started my sonar journey in ice fishing with Deeper Sonar Chirp and had constant problems with my phone battery. At launch, it will be iOS devices only they are saying . I'm not sure about the version needed. They plan to release an Android version early next year
Enjoy trying to see that iPad in the sun. Not to mention when it overheats in like 10 minutes. Ever go fishing and have your phone sitting on the deck of your boat for like a half an hour and you can’t even use it because it’s overheating, and that’s with the screen off. Even if it wasn’t summer, won’t be seeing very much on the water, without an ultra bright display. That is unless you are under a Bimini cabin. But at that point, you might as well just buy the real thing. I think I’ll stick with my 126’s
An iPad is terrible on the water a replacement for a real chart plotter. The screen is to dim in sunlight, it will overheat and shut off in summer heat and will not tolerate water.
I'd be willing to bet the lack of an Android version of the app is a scaled down "market entry" aimed at getting the big sonar fish finder companies "on the hook" to buy the company out and keep their market share/prices.
ABOUT TIME!!!!!... Companies like Garmin, and Hummingbird and Lowrance/Simrad, have been OVERCHARGING and basically price gouging their chartplotter products for years and still they haven't delivered any screens with the ability to get close to the resolution of the Ipad. Each new product has low resolution screens and super grainy images with slow processors. Even the built in GPS sucks and is slow to lock and update. Waterproofing their products doesn't justify the ridiculous asking prices, so that's out. Even cell phones from 10 years ago and can outperform their new products and yet they still charge THOUSANDS more for it. I keep hoping other major companies like Samsung and Lenovo would get into the chartplotter market and spank those price gougers. Sadly Garmin is even worse when it comes to the Aviation products they release.
interesting, but i think the choice to use apple instead of android is a bad one. There are far more android user and devices on the market than apple.

Fiancé wants AT for the rear of the boat, this may be an option..'
Garmin punching air right now talking to their lawyers to see if they can sue them into oblivion.
Just missing Android support and it would be a great product.
They should do the whole fish finder. iPads are not going to be ideal outside.
No mapping or gps to mark weigh points? Of coarse it should cost less
As soon as this comes to Android I am getting it
An iPad is terrible on the water a replacement for a real chart plotter. The screen is to dim in sunlight, it will overheat and shut off in summer heat and will not tolerate water.
Won`t overheat were I live for sure.
@@roar_ingyou’d be surprised what bright sunlight does to them even in lower ambient conditions. They are night designed for extended use outside.
Sticking with Garmin for now. tried and true. Time will tell. Iphones and pads are not waterproof. I see issues.....
Lost me at any iOS device lol😂
iOS is apples operating system
Цена, интересна цена? Ну и будет ли поддержка андроида?
You really think a tablet is going to hold up on the front deck of a boat getting rained on and battered by waves
id love to have a android version
interesting, but i think the choice to use apple instead of android is a bad one.
There are far more android user and devices on the market than apple.
Take my money
Downview - 8m/24ft limit, ForwardView - 15m/40ft limit... :(
Where did you get this info? Just wondering because the Accuphy website demo video shows forward view at 18m/59ft.
good luck having good wifi on the water !!!
The wireless is to connect just to the tablet or phone, it isn't for internet connectivity
I don’t want them collecting my data. 😂
Just waypoints 🤣
The already did 😂😉
I sure don’t want the Chinese communist government knowing where my honey holes are or where my secret big bream beds are. You know how much they love fish!
