Great video! I'm ordering my 2022 WRX in the next few weeks here - kinda nervous as its my first manual and I've never had to break in an engine before. These videos have been a ton of fun for me to watch though as they help me get an idea of what I want to do in the future. Keep up the good work!
Glad to hear that my WRX vids have been helping you out. I had my 1st chance to drive the car this morning without any snow on the road. Car makes over 15 PSI of boost and pull much harder. Turbo response seems to be improved as well. You should definitely get an Accessport, I think it is well worth the money. Thanks for watching.
Hell yeah that is awesome. You will love it. I was able to step on the gas on the way to work today and wow what a difference. Car pulls harder and turbo is more responsive down low.
Yes I will be waiting as well. I can wait to get some nice bolt on parts, TMIC, Intake and exhaust with Cobb stage 2 tune. Thanks for leaving a comment. I watch your guys channel as well and enjoy the content you guys make. Merry Christmas to the IIR Team.
The initial Cobb maps were tested by Perrin on their dyno and Jeff said they are run safe and a little rich so you should have nothing to worry about. I would stay away from the ETS intake unless you get a protune. My car was protuned and made great power. Check out my video on that. My car has been working perfectly for the last year and I just cracked 36k miles.
I ordered one for my 2022 WRX PREMIUM, I spoke to service manager about installing it and that was a big no, as it would void my warranty, somebody else told me as well that they can tell if the ECU has been flashed. So I just went with MagnaFlow axle back exhaust system, I have a rear diffuser coming for it and a front spoiler, I am just doing mostly cosmetic mods to keep my warranty plus I have a grim speed dress up kit for the engine
Yeah, I kind of figured the warranty would be voided. Fingers cross that my car does not have any issues. Congrats on your 2022 WRX Limited. Thanks for watching.
Love my accessport I was waiting for it since I got the car in April. Well worth the wait!! It feels more like an STI now. Just have to do something with the brakes.
I know that feeling, I got my WRX on April 28th and have been anticipating this new V3 WRX Accessport to come out as well. That extra boost sure makes the car feel so much better. I am very happy with the difference the step 1 tune made. I added some Carbotech front on my car a few weeks ago. They feel awesome compared to the stock pads. The carbotech pads were loud at first, but after a few days they got quiet and they bite hard like Brembo brakes. th-cam.com/video/3bwaxwERYQk/w-d-xo.html
Everybody should have 1 "dumb" charger like the one at 6:54. Because if you ever let one of your batteries by accident get seriously discharged, a "smart" charger might refuse to charge it, thinking that the battery is just completely useless. If that happens, put the dumb charger on the battery. It won't be trying to guess the condition of your battery and it will try to put current into it regardless. Sometimes after 30 minutes or so of that you can switch over to a "smart" charger and it will think everything is ok and take it up from there. I've saved a couple of my batteries that way.
Well said Gary. In fact this is exactly what I had to do. The smart charger would not do anything on the dead battery and came up with an error code and would not charge it. I had to put the big charger on first to get some power back into the battery. After about an hour, the battery had enough power to start the car. I switched to the smart charger to finish the charging cycle and top the battery off.
It can be added to stock car and still produce extra power by adding more boost with tuning to the fuel map and ignition timing. Stock cars have been making over 300 horsepower with the Accessport. Thanks for watching.
Have you ever received "verify ignition is on position' once you first plugged in AP for first time? I get the message and stays that way for a long time.
No mine never displayed that. I filmed every display the Cobb showed during the process. Did you try unplugging and plugging the OBD plug back in. If it does not work you might need to contact Cobb for that one. Good luck and thanks for watching. I hope you get in figured out.
Your warranty is gone now if you didn't know. This is not a piggyback tune. Doesn't matter if you go back to stock tune.Subaru can plug in and see you permanently altered the ECU on a common diagnostic. That's why I'm waiting to work out all the bugs for a while before I tune. I've already had issues with starting and my AC compressor is going bad. So I'm going to wait a bit.
Yeah most people don't have money for a new motor or trans just lying around. It's like playing Russian roulette with an access port. Ej platform was much more affordable and easy to throw a new closed deck block when it happens. People have already had turbo failures and blown motors with FA24 with no tune. Not trying to scare but it's a thing.
I bought my 2022 WRX and I asked the finance guy about what voids the warranty and he said a Cobb access port, exhaust, and intake all do not void the warranty because the WRX is made for enthusiasts and those are the types of mods enthusiasts do.
Stock intake on my car right now. I want to make sure it is not running lean. I have been recording my data logs the last few days. I will datalog all the different maps and do an update later on the channel. Thanks for watching.
Dont put your foot on the brake and push the start button once, that should get you accessories. Push the button again for ignition. Push it again and car should power off again. Hope that helps, good luck.
I am planning on installing the MPG map next and driving a full tank of gas and see if there is any difference. I will probably do a small update video on the channel to cover this. Good question and thanks for watching.
your paying thousands of bucks for a few extra HP? is it really worth it? you are also voiding your warranty and possibly putting your engine and expensive components at greater risk. and you also have to spend more money on more premium fuel going forward?
An accessport is $700, not thousands. Nothing "voids" a warranty. Claims can be denied because of mods, but a warranty cannot flat out be voided. This car already takes premium fuel.
cobb needs to update that crap so badly. its the same AP since 2000's. 99% of tuning can be done on a laptop now. no need for a "special clicky button" fob. so dumb.

Going to be tough for me to stay stock lol. But that warranty is keeping me in check for now
We both know it is a slippery slope once you start down the aftermarket parts rabbit hole.
I’m deciding on getting a accessport myself and tuning my vb but I heard the ots tunes on the Cobb accessport aren’t safe ??,,

Did you plug into a battery tender when you did install??
Yes, I sure did have a battery tender on to make sure voltage did not drop.
@@JDMRightHandDrive I have a battery charger/maintainer, is that good to use??
So do you have to leave the Cobb plugged in all the time or can you load the program and disconnect it so it looks stock
You can disconnect it after it flashes.
can car be bone stock and still add port? or do you need prior mods then port?
It can be added to stock car and still produce extra power by adding more boost with tuning to the fuel map and ignition timing. Stock cars have been making over 300 horsepower with the Accessport. Thanks for watching.
At the end of the day, did you like the ETS system compared to the one that you have now?
Can you add launch control with the accesport?
Not as of right now, however from what I understand this feature will be added with a software update in the near future.

I bought it from Subispeed on Black Friday for 10% off.
