9:25 If you're curious like me, here's the explanation of what those controls are for: Launch: A control for launch control, a system that optimizes the standing start by adjusting torque and traction. ALS: Stands for Anti-Lag System, a system used in turbocharged engines to reduce turbo lag by maintaining boost pressure. WMI: Refers to Water-Methanol Injection, a technique that injects a mixture of water and methanol to cool the incoming air and increase engine power. MAP: Refers to different engine mappings, allowing the selection of various performance configurations. Pump: A switch to turn a pump on or off, possibly for fuel or an auxiliary system. Valve: Could be connected to a valve, such as a turbo valve (e.g., blow-off valve or wastegate). Haldex: Refers to the Haldex all-wheel-drive system, used in some vehicles (often Volkswagen and Audi), which may regulate the distribution of power between the front and rear axles.

those prolong pulls and heat will get ya! Ive nearly maxed out my '14 WRX drivetrain when I had it, it was around 165mph. I would only do 1 pull that high and let it cool off for a while. The headers would glow red and exhaust would burble from all the heat build up. Good times, miss the car.
BMW 5 Series doing 5 Series things, and honestly, the RX8 was no surprise. But clearly, the main reason for all those incidents was driving the engine outside of its specs. I owned a Cupra M1 ATP and currently have an EVO X, but even in S-Super Mode, I never let the engine run into the upper range of the redline. Also, proper fluids, which most people do not have, are important. First of all, most engines have too high oil temps, and the OEM fluids from Castrol and TotalQuartz are not meant to operate at these temperatures. I also had an A4 3.0 Diesel as a work car. Literally, after driving normally on the Autobahn at 150-160 km/h, if you opened the oil filler cap, you’d get oil fumes in your face because the oil gets too hot. Also, if someone changes it themselves, proper oil comes out of the engine after 15,000 km with a brownish color and no burnt smell to it. I use on the EVO specifically only TripleQX 5w30, Xedo 5w30 or Mihel Ceramic Oil 5w30, they are high in content of Boron, which makes them good oils at high temperature.
In 1987 I blew the engine of my 944 turbo at 270 km/h on the Autobahn north of Munich. Windshield fully covered with oil in a second. Needed a new engine, but not a new car. Good idea to keep cool in those moments.
The one and only time I had the opportunity to drive on the Autobahn was in a Bradley M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Didn't go faster than 50mph and the ride was jolting but had a blast.

Probably a bad chip tuning. If so, all control units have to be modified; if one is still using old values, there are implausibilities. Usually the air intake quantity does not match the lambda sensor values, then the engine control light appears.
Likely EWG sounds, yes, as the noise only came on during boost. Seems like he actually just popped the alternator, which is not an unheard-of failure when you're running the engine close to redline. It's usually the integrated power regulator that just burns after sustained high engine speed.
@@peterjohnson9438 no it’s actually a battery problem because batteries used to live like 24 hours a day if you still drive on it and if you pass that one day are more than that, your car will have you’ll have a battery warning. Seems people don't understand the red zone on the tacho. The start of the red zone indicates where the valves are not guaranteed to always get out of the way of the pistons and engine life is reduced to a minute over its life. The top of the red zone is point at which the con rods give up. Metal has a strange property of remembering so fatigue is cumulative. There is litteraly no point revving that high. (Unless its a rental car, in which case its mandatory)
This actually really helped with my engine prejudice. Doesn't matter if it's a brand-spanking new, magnificently well made engine. Shit CAN happen, and when being tested flat-out on the autobahn, well, it's nothing if not a bit of a stress test. You handle these mishaps like a champ.
in most scenarios driver was the reason engine blown, shifting way too late (any racing driver know that at the start of redline engine starts to lose power and torque, check any dyno graph), and not cooling engine after pulls, with BMW at 260km/h was extra stupid, he hit the speed limiter and didn't shifted to next gear resulting something in the engine overheating and car cutting power

@@no.nomoreidontcare you don't need power steering to pull to a hard shoulder 🤣 brake booster has enough vacuum to give you enough braking force to stop from a motorway speed with the engine off. would you rather keep a broken engine revving risking something goes through the crank case and leaves a huge oil stain on the road potentially causing other drivers to crash?
It seems like he was goin at speed limiter (hp & torque aren't pegged at max) then violently dropped to 0 and msgs started appearing when he was slowing down
Do the owners sign a waiver if something happens to the vehicle while you are driving? How is the fault determined? Do you have to carry some sort of insurance in the event of a catastrophic failure? I'm sure that it is very stressful to both parties when this occurs. I would hate to have to explain to the owner that there car is no longer running. Good to know information, most youtubers do not disclose the bad things that can occur while driving. it's usually behind the scenes or edited out.
The second one.... never hit the rev limiter under load with a rotary. That WILL kill the engine, very quickly. It took me a couple times to learn that lesson.
Here's exactly why the rev counter range is red..... how not to accelerate with a car, that's the difference driving between a mecanic guy and a beach kéké
It keeps the engine spinning so alternator, belts and pumps are still running. Going neutral may kill the engine and lose power steering and brake servo. Don’t want that happening at high speeds.
If you see white smoke, most common cause is a cylinder head failure. Often caused by turbo charger failure, when metal debris parts of its turbine wheel are inhaled into the cylinders and slam the engine immediately.

not sure what was more disturbing, the fat wobbling or the civic engine blowing.

for the guys curious about the rx8. the rx8 in the video is the low power/4 port version of the rx8. wich has diffrent main bearings than the highpower/6 port rx8. And therefore has a factory revlimiter at 7500 rpm. obviously the one in the video is tuned to move the rev limiter. and it likely suffered a bearing failure as a result
just an oil burp, engine was perfectly fine
Why the hell would you turn of ESP for max speed runs? It'S not like you're going to deal with any wheelspin, and if something goes wrong ESP makes the difference between stained underpants and a massive accident that involves ten cars.
Some cars turn it of in track mode / sports mode.
They don't do full power in the other modes
@@NinoJoel As far as I know you will have full power in other modes too but a different accelerator pedal curve. So lets say in eco with 50% pedal the car will give you like 40% power and in sport with 50% pedal it may give you 70% But as far as I know if you go 100% pedal or hit the kick down switch you must have 100% power as far as I know.
@dreiback182 not sure since it depends on the brand and model but I know that some models do in fact not give full performance without the track mode.

9:25 If you're curious like me, here's the explanation of what those controls are for:
Launch: A control for launch control, a system that optimizes the standing start by adjusting torque and traction.

I never realized that red-lines are purely for looks. This man goes through cars faster than Taylor Swift goes through men.
Now Cole, when you shift the gear, and that little needle on the tach goes into the red and reads 9,000 rpm, that's bad.
Nice
Exactly what I was thinking!

Someone should tell these experienced drivers not to drive in the red zone of the tach. That is the purpose of putting a tach in the dash.
Yeah experienced my arse?
If someone has to tell you they are experienced, they generally aren't.
Yep, typical self-proclaimed "experienced" driver: flooring it through the red rev-zone and then say 'what the f...' when some pistons bend to the forces of nature.
Maybe stop bouncing off the limiter every single gear change???
I don't know why they do that. I can see hitting the limiter but some of these guys hold it on the limiter like it's going to go faster. I have a 2006 Lincoln LS and when it hits the limiter, the fuel is cutoff like I turned off the ignition.

those prolong pulls and heat will get ya!

Why was the Carrera S broken out of nowhere?
It didn't break, just started a misfire.
Probably a bad chip tuning. If so, all control units have to be modified; if one is still using old values, there are implausibilities. Usually the air intake quantity does not match the lambda sensor values, then the engine control light appears.
Wv Carrera hm. .hm hm 😂😂
9:29 why kept pushing after hearing this noise is beyond me.
Turbo wastegate
Bruh that's just how an external wastegate sounds lmao nothing wrong about it it's meant to sound like that
Likely EWG sounds, yes, as the noise only came on during boost.
It will indicate that your battery is kind of low your car It means a battery is low from your car and can’t start driving anymore
Shifting at the redline every time is absolutely crazy to me no matter how fast you're going
You handle these mishaps like a champ.
in most scenarios driver was the reason engine blown, shifting way too late (any racing driver know that at the start of redline engine starts to lose power and torque, check any dyno graph), and not cooling engine after pulls, with BMW at 260km/h was extra stupid, he hit the speed limiter and didn't shifted to next gear resulting something in the engine overheating and car cutting power

engine needs to be rotating for you to have power brakes and power steering
@@no.nomoreidontcare you don't need power steering to pull to a hard shoulder 🤣 brake booster has enough vacuum to give you enough braking force to stop from a motorway speed with the engine off. would you rather keep a broken engine revving risking something goes through the crank case and leaves a huge oil stain on the road potentially causing other drivers to crash?

Do the owners sign a waiver if something happens to the vehicle while you are driving? How is the fault determined? Do you have to carry some sort of insurance in the event of a catastrophic failure? I'm sure that it is very stressful to both parties when this occurs. I would hate to have to explain to the owner that there car is no longer running. Good to know information, most youtubers do not disclose the bad things that can occur while driving. it's usually behind the scenes or edited out.
@4:38 how satisfying to see the 'magic smoke' come out of the exhaust!
4:37 This RS6 is just a smoke machine, impressive!
Watching that check engine light come on at 300km/h...hotdayum😮
Staying in gear even the engine broke down is a stupid idea!
It keeps the engine spinning so alternator, belts and pumps are still running. Going neutral may kill the engine and lose power steering and brake servo. Don’t want that happening at high speeds.
Detruire ces voitures est stupide également
If you see white smoke, most common cause is a cylinder head failure. Often caused by turbo charger failure, when metal debris parts of its turbine wheel are inhaled into the cylinders and slam the engine immediately.
At least the integra did a proper bang-clatter-clatter!
