Corsair M65 RGB Elite Gaming Mouse - Faulty Click Button Easy Repair With Contact Cleaner!

  • Quick little video showing a repair I did to my sister's mouse. It's got the common issue of misbehaving clicks involving the left mouse button. I use contact cleaner to get into the microswitch and clean the contacts without removing the switch. We will see how long it lasts. They are Omron switches, but they don't seem the highest quality as they are wearing out prematurely. Alternatively, the switch could be desoldered from the board and cleaned or replaced but this should get it going for now.

Need to buy me a contact cleaner fluid but from the comments here it sounds like I should be able to fix my mouse issue. Thanks for the video.

Throwing in a comment for good measure. This 100% worked for me. I didn't have contact cleaner so I just used Isopropyl Alcohol on a brush. Brushed the sensor a couple times and clicked it through, repeated a few times. Waited til it dried and BOOM my mouse is back! Thanks so much for the video man!

@@Armoredartist when i took off the cover, the two clicking modules had a little blue tab on the top that did the actual clicking. I brushed those little blue tabs a buncha times. Click them a bunch, brush, click a bunch. Did that about 4 times and closed it all back up.

This worked for me, mouse works properly now... At least FOR now... One thing I want to add - unless my mouse was just special, it definitely took a little bit of force to get the cover off after taking the screws out, looks like it was glued...
Hopefully this is an every 3-6 months thing, and not a "you have to do this twice a week now, and then the more you do it the more often you have to do it... until the mouse just stops working entirely" -- I'll try to post an update on if I have to re-apply it. But it's working perfectly right now!

But another problem appeared (mouse wheel not registering sometimes or skipping) so i will take it apart soon again.

@@mrn234 Were you able to solve the wheel problem? Right now I have that problem and the click problem that I have to fix and then sell it. Already many problems with this mouse. I guess I'll go with Logitech or another brand, I don't know yet.

I'm responding this in case someone else has a similar concern. In your case it was a year ago, so I would assume you got this fixed or got a new mouse.
In my unit, the bit that fits is a Torx #5 (T5).
