Corsair M65 RGB Elite Gaming Mouse - Faulty Click Button Easy Repair With Contact Cleaner!

Quick little video showing a repair I did to my sister's mouse. It's got the common issue of misbehaving clicks involving the left mouse button. I use contact cleaner to get into the microswitch and clean the contacts without removing the switch. We will see how long it lasts. They are Omron switches, but they don't seem the highest quality as they are wearing out prematurely. Alternatively, th...

To be honest, this video brings me back to the days when I was 14 or 15 years old. Back when I didn't have much fancy equipments except a multimeter, my desk or working space was just like this, not a big area stuffed by electronic scraps I collected from nowhere. The best fun was poking randomly with my old analog multimeter and discovering the circuit part by part. Although sometimes magic smoke would escape and the next thing I know was the circuit went wrong. Very sweet memories, Thanks for sharing it, for real.

That's a very nice vintage piece of test equipment! Thanks for the "tour". I would say the only downside is sourcing those large batteries for the B+. I have some old portable tube radios that use 45 and 67 volt batteries, which don't seem to be available anymore.

I bought an SX303r new in the early mid 90's along with matching Pioneer dual tape deck and 6 cd changer. Don't know what happened to the other two, but my daughter has the receiver now and it still sounds as good as the day I bought it. Even better, actually since she's got a pair of Infinity floor standing speakers that sound a lot better than anything I had back then! Its a good amplifier, its got more precise sound reproduction than the 1980's amps, and none of the heavy, muddy sound of the 1970's gear. Enjoy it!

This worked for me, mouse works properly now... At least FOR now... One thing I want to add - unless my mouse was just special, it definitely took a little bit of force to get the cover off after taking the screws out, looks like it was glued... Hopefully this is an every 3-6 months thing, and not a "you have to do this twice a week now, and then the more you do it the more often you have to do it... until the mouse just stops working entirely" -- I'll try to post an update on if I have to re-apply it. But it's working perfectly right now!

Well done! That magneto is military surplus; it came from an army switchboard. I found an old PDF about it by doing a web search on its GN-38 part number. It is army manual TM 11-333. Mine worked much better after disassembly and oiling. Anyone who touches the end of the magneto while turning the crank will get a painful shock, so mounting it to a board is a good idea. As the kids try it, they will discover that the handle is much harder to turn when connected to the lamp. That shows how you can't get electrical energy for free. More load on the magneto makes it harder to turn. I built something similar, but included a wall phone. That lets me show people "on the hook" and "off the hook", and how "hanging up" means that you literally hang the handset on the switch hook.

Hey Doc, wonder if you have any thoughts on this: I'm doing my first restoration of an old capacitor tester bridge. What I'm finding is that I can't get the thing calibrated so that the eye is open widest across the whole range of values on the dial. In particular the dial reads quite a bit higher than the capacitor value at the high end of the range based on the eye being open wide. BUT if I connect a meter (negative to chassis, positive to positive terminal where one leg of cap is connected) I find that the lowest voltage is pretty close to when the dial is at what i believe the cap value to be, and the lowest voltage is NOT where the eye is open widest. Any thoughts about why that last thing might be the case and what might be done about it? Thanks for any advice!
