I don't consider myself an "expert" gamer, so I was dreading Legendary fights, but your guides are so accessible that even I can breeze through. Thank you so much for the time you put into these and sharing them with the rest of us. Cloud done, now onto Barret.
There’s a VERY safe way of tackling iron clad at the end of this gauntlet with this build.. keep him at range. continuosly roll away from him, occasionally peppering him with your air blade to build 2 ATB and then unleash thundaga. rinse and repeat. at range, iron clad will only use firaga on you which heals you anyway. you won’t set any speed run records doing this and you’ll feel like a coward. but a win’s a win. great guide as always!
he'll use Graviga and scharpen with a long range attack as well. 1. the Graviga will always leave you with 1hp I think, never died from it at least. 2. the one after sharpen can be avoided by just always dodging directly 3. but best of all, at least for me, for some reason if you manage to interupt the sharpen with a thunder lvl3, he'll never use sharpen AND graviga again. maybe some kind of bug, but I'll take it. so try to save the first thunder lvl3 and keep dodging until you see him sharpen and cast your lightning on him. you might need swiftcast for it though, I switched a magic focus with swiftcast for this. (btw, in the bonds of friendship you also get an ironclad, this also works there as long as you have fire elemental in armor)
@@dariov7234 This was what turned the tide for Ironclad for me. Went with the same exact build but swapped out the Strength Up for Barrier (makes Throat Clamp in Round 2 a bit less of a threat and adds a little insurance on Round 5). I also swapped one of the MagicAccuracy blue orbs for Swiftcast after reading your comment. Hitting Ironclad with Thundaga to interrupt Sharpen seems to trim down his arsenal of options. At distance he's only casting Firaga, which heals anyway. So it was just a lot of air blades, Thundaga whenever 2xATB, and Limit when they came up, and otherwise keeping a safe distance. The only things I saw him use were Firaga and Condemned (which is easy to avoid) if I happened to start to get too close. TBH Graviga wasn't so bad before, but I kept getting caught in Thanatosian Blade.
Fantastic guide. One note to make this even easier. For a more survivability (and a hefty chunk of bonus damage) I dropped one of the Lighting + Magic Focus for Enemy Skill + HP Absorb. Then, I just started every battle with Plasma Discharge and enjoyed the free damage and heals every time I got an ATB charge.
I used this specifically for the ironclad and got it! Thank you. Ironclad and the big bull boss has made me a movement and camera expert at this point.
even esier: I replaced enemy skill with another thunder and I swapped strenght materia for swift cast. I only used thundaga 3 so the wolf loose charge for the howling.... doing so I was 99% of the fight with full HP and I didn't even have to worry to dodge the bite.
I just finished this with your help thanks! I also discovered a neat little gimmick with the iron giant. If you just run away from it if you need the hp it will cast firaga when it's sword isn't sharpened. If the sword is sharpened it will use gravija... so be wary of that and dodge at the last second. Seriously though thank you for the build! That wolf was the bane of my existence till today.
Another great guide! The White Terror strat was SUPER helpful, HATE that thing. One VERY minor tip for the 1st round, if you hold down square right at the beginning and dash in and do his spinning attack, it will draw all the bandits to you, so you can LB and guarantee kill them all. Again very minor, but if you end up having to do this a few times, it helps to speed things up a bit.
Following Opti's guide, I had to make some adjustments, in case anyone needs it. Loadout/Setup: - Weapon: Slipstream Saber. (HP Absorption - Enemy Skill) (Elemental - Lightning & Wind) (Mp Aborption - Lightning) Summon: Gilgamesh - Armor: (Elemental - Fire & Ice) Steadfast Block, First Strike, (HP Absorption - Lightning) Subversion, ATB Boost - Accessory: Gotterdammerung - Skills: Unrelenting Punisher, Formidable Counter, Attack Damage +5%, Magic Attack Power +20 - Shortcuts on Cloud: Sonic Boom, Plasma Discharge Fight 1/5 - Do AoE combo attack (hit [] then hold [] to suck all the bandits in) - Use Mindblast Fight 2/5 - Use ATB Boost (L1+R1) - Use Plasma Discharge - Use Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance) - Activate Punisher Mode (Triangle) WARNING - SAVE YOUR LIMIT FOR Earsplitting Howl - Hold R1 to block (better, don't hold, try to do a perfect block every time the enemy attacks) - Watch for Throat Clamp, you will need to let go of R1 and press O to dodge it. - Watch for Earsplitting Howl, use your limit Repeat - Build ATB by blocking and hitting while in Punisher Mode (perfect block is great but not necessary) - When ATB is full, use Thundara, this will recover HP and MP - If you stagger it, keep building ATB and using Thundara Fight 3/5 - ATB Boost - Plasma Discharge - Dodge away - Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance) Repeat - Keeps dodging to its ass and attack - If it casts Firaga, let it, since you'll absorb the damage - Save up to 2 ATB bars - If it uses Concetrate, either Limit Break or cast Thundaga - It should be staggered, keep attacking to gain ATB, then cast Thundara Fight 4/5 - ATB Boost - Plasma Discharge - Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance) - Spam Dodge (O) to run dodge its attacks (make sure you lock on target) - If it casts Sanguine Scourge (the homing orb), dodge until it gets to you, then dodge in the other direction - Everytime you dodge, you can range attack up to 3 times, do this as much as you can - When you have ATB, use Thundara - When it's pressured, keep attack and Thundara on ATB - Limit Break if you think you can kill it - If it still lives, it'll cast Mana Shield, which will render your regular attacks useless - Keep attacking to build ATB, and Thundara - At this time, it will use Demonic Slice three times in a row, keep dodging Fight 5/5 - ATB Boost - Plasma Discharge - Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance) - Dodge behind the Ironclad, stay within melee range - If you stray far, it will cast Gravija and that is bad news - Try to roll to its right side, which is your left, the side where it's holding the giant sword - Use your limit break as soon as you're behind it and able - Cast Thundara whenever you're behind, to heal and recover MP - If it casts Firaga, just ignore because you'll absorb the damage - Thanatosian Blade is a frontal AND small AoE, run away if you're low on HP - Limit Break whenever available GLHF th-cam.com/video/toa7AXT1RNY/w-d-xo.html
I got by with this build minus switching the elemental on the weapon for a swiftcast. Used the coward's route for the Ironclad and stayed out of range unless Firaga was used.. I somehow managed to get a Thundaga to interrupt Sharpen and Graviga never came back.
So, interesting discovery I've made; level 3 magic causes White Terror to lose one "level" of energy. There's three levels; not glowing, glowing blue, and glowing orange. Glowing orange means it's about to use Earsplitting Howl. If you save your ATB and strike it with Thundaga every time it pauses to power up and change its energy color, it will _never use Earsplitting Howl._ I'm not sure if it's tied to raw damage or it's just an effect of the magic itself, but this pretty much invalidated that fight for me. I'd recommend replacing the Elemental materia on your weapon with Swiftcast, so you can always be sure to nail him when he's open without risking being hit.
Found this comment after I commented saying White Terror to be the real bitch of this challenge. Thank you! Swiftcast on Lightning helps a whole lot more than Elemental, for all the fights!
Just want to say thank you for these guides and to anyone beginning this gauntlet of challenges, don't lose hope. These are going to take some practice but you'll get there. Good luck!
I finally did this fight by modifying your technique. It’s through watching your videos that I can even think of a tactic that differs from your guide. So I thank you for that.
I took off both magic focus materia linked to lightning. Swapped one pair for enemy skill with HP Absorb. Used that to keep me alive on the dog and floating eye by casting plasma discharge. Then the other I put swiftcast linked with lightning. Reason for this was I couldn’t dodge the Iron Clad when near him as I was terrible at it. So I did him from afar and used the swiftcast thundaga to stop sharpen. After that he never used it again and I just took it slow from afar
Thank you! Your strategy made this so easy. I switched up some materia, since I am slow and take too much damage. Removed strength up and put First strike so I can start with plasma discharge. Swapped out one magic focus for swiftcast swapped other magic focus for enemy skill plus hp absorb. For the wolf I blocked and waited for two atb and just did thundaga. Hes basically dead or almost dead on first stagger. The last two battles I did a lot of ranged strikes as I’m prone to getting hit when close. To make up for my lack of strength up I used sonic boom for bravery. Your strategy made this one of the easiest challenges for me I was dreading this based on what I read only took a few tries. All I have left is cait now. Im excited bc I haven’t done chapter 14 on hard yet and it’ll be nice to go in with almost everyone with weapon level 9 aside from cloud and Barrett who need it from that chapter
Once I got the timing down with dodging the wolf it was pretty straightforward. Tip for anyone struggling with the giant. If you stay close to him, he will only cast firaga. Also, dont just relentlessly attack his back. If you do, you'll get caught. Be patient and wait for him to throw out attacks to get a good bit of damage on him. Also, when he casts firaga, I found that going airborn and dropping a braver on him did more damage (braver does more damage airborn). That being said, if you are very low on health, the firaga won't completely cure you, so use your judgement and hit him with a thundara instead if need be. All in all, great strategy again, bud! For those complaining about this video, go and spend hours of your life learning how to perfect parry every attack if you want but I personally found this guide extremely useful and doubt I'd have gained the skill to pull this off a different way any time soon.
I noticed the Iron Giant only used firaga if I get too far away, so every time i needed a free heal, I just retreated. Also if you spam dodge when moving around him, most of his backhands will miss. Amazing guide cant thank you enough!
Just finished hard mode. Now following your awesome guides for Legendary like I did for brutal. Great guides very well explained. I had to swap weapon elemental to swift to give wolf quick lvl 3 lightnings. Worked great as always thnx. 💯
This was quite easier than the Challenge with the worm. But with ur build very easy, thank u a lot. I just swapped Elements with Swiftcast, and Lightning + Magic Focus with HP-Absorbtion + Enemy Skill and use the Rune Sword. Major note for Irongiant: when he starts using Gravija use Limit Break to dodge it or let em hit u with it, than use Thundara two times for nearly full heal. :)
Got this challenge finally done with this guide. Took about 7 tries. Thank you!! I was so frustrated with this one! Your guide helped a whole bunch!! Loved your jokes!! 😅
Your guides are awesome! For those who are not very skilled, like me, be patient with them wolf, sometimes the RNG Gods smile upon you and he just don’t use the Howl. And If you can’t stagger the rhino, just cast thunder+ when he casts something, just don’t do it if reflect is up, wait for it for it to wear off and again, wait for the bull to be busy casting something. On the Iron Giant, you can stay far from him, you can do 2 or 3 attacks from distance to charge ATB and cast thunder +, he will attack with gravity that lets you with 1 hp, but will heal you with fire. Takes forever, but you will kill him eventually.
Man, you're a godsend. I couldn't do these challenges without your guides. Thought I'd need to level up materia more because the HP absorption from thunder on the wolf wasn't quite cutting it, but I managed. So relieved 😊
Thanks so much for these fantastic and manageable guides to help obtain the Platinum trophy! Keep up the good work. Will definitely keep an eye out on your channel for part 3 😀.
Great guide! I did this strategy more or less. Swapped one Magic Focus + Lightning for Enemy Skill + Lightning. On first ATB... Plasma Discharge. Second one is usually Sonic Boom. On FlyEye you can block Part1 of the Purple Orb and then roll away before part 2 detonates. Against giant guy I just spammed roll + ranged slashes. Limit Break when he Gravigas. On Firaga cast, stall a little and cast a late Thundaga to heal off both his Firaga and your Thundaga.
I would like to add that for those who are struggling with Ironclad when he is casting Graviga. Make sure to save up 2 ATB once he starts Sharpen and use Thundaga as soon you see him use it. Also use limit break in case you don't have enough atb. For some reason in my run it liked spamming it after Firaga sessions. Just a friendly tip. Your guides have helped me thus far and i wanted to give my own words of encouragement for everyone following the ordeal. You are not alone and you can do it..
Great guide man, even though I don't have all the gear yet I followed your setup as closely as I could and made some mods and it worked out. I haven't completed Seventh Seal or Rulers yet so I didn't have Gotterdammerung but I had limit booster and swapped for a rune blade with hp absorb/enemy skill with time materia to stop enemies during stagger. Your strategy with white terror really helped me out, with limit booster the damage from white terror pushed me over the edge enough to give me a limit break. I also had a few butt clenching moments when ironclad would graviga me down to 1 hp, but fortunately I could hp absorb/thunder and he would heal me back up with the firaga. I had been really burned out by these challenges, but your guides have been a huge help. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for the guide(s)! This build worked pretty well for me, though I ended up swapping on of the lighting-magic focus slots for enemy skill and first strike so that I could cast plasma discharge at the start of the last fight with iron clad. The extra lighting damage and added stat buffs really helped me on that one.
@@leocreuu3254 I removed one lightning and one magic focus and traded it for Hp UP and Barrier. The Barrier seems to really help especially for the Iron Golem (especially if you suck at dodging, like me, because of the camera angle management aspect 😂) For that damn dog, the HP up will actually give you enough of an HP buffer to tank the hits in punisher mode (especially if you can't get the perfect parry). The goal of the lightning + hp absorb is to ensure that your HP drain is not too negative during this fight.
Great guide again, I got this done on my 2nd try, first time, got to stage 5 and he used graviga several times, and I was next to him the whole time, 2nd time getting there, he only used it once
Thank you very much! I died the first time against the last one because he threw a surprise Gravitaga at me and then killed me with the arm later.... :D The next try I kept the limit for antimaga but this time he didn't throw it and went down really easily! Thanks again!
another great guide. i actually had more trouble with this than rulers of the outer worlds. i keep ending up on the edge of the arena in the ironclad fight and it's impossible to dodge around his huge attacks there. ended up putting a bit more distance between us and using the blade beam to attack to build up atb, saving it for when he uses gravity and then immediately using thunder to cure.
Great guide again man, thank you. One thing, Iron Clad has Graviga which puts your HP to 1. He does only seem to cast this though, if you get too far away from him. I found that if you stay close/medium close, he'll never cast it. Using a limit break if he does cast it will get you out of it. Great work as always. Now onto Barret's.
Very good shout, I should have recommended saving that limit break in case that attack happens, similar to what we do with the White Wolf and the Hippo
Thanks for the great guides. I may be alone here but I struggled staggering Irasceros during the first concentration period. I just couldn't consistently build pressure by the time it started. If the pressure is too low when he starts concentration, hit him with a Thundaga to break his concentration and retain/increase the pressure. This slight play adjustment saved me minutes on each attempt.
Your video is amazing. Easy to follow and helped me get through this challenge in no time. Few tries to get the timing on White Terror right and wasn't expecting 3 x Devil Slices in a row but next try was a breeze.
This guide worked for me too! I keep getting stuck with the wolf. I managed to do get pass it using your guide, the others are just walk in the park. Thank you! Onto the next one (Barret). 😊
For those still struggling even with this awesome guide, like me, I keep dying to the sword of the final iron knight. Like the other comments, I swapped to use rune blade, and changed the lightning elemental to lightning swiftcast, and took away one set of lightning magic focus. Swap strength up with steadfast block, so you gain much more ATB during the white terror fight; Get HP UP so you more breather during final fight... For the remaining materia, I used precision block focus, but ended up not using it. If you think you can precision block the final fight then use it. Otherwise, I recommend "Enemy Skill" for extra stats + you have Plasma Discharge, or subversion to take away the reflection that occasionally comes up on the 3rd fight.... When fighting the iron giant, always leave at least 1 ATB available. If he does safe moves like Firaga, use Thunderga and hit up to get ATB back (and wont break his Firaga so it heals you). If he uses sharpen, immediately use Thundaga on him (or Limit break) so he doesn't charge up his blade. As long as he keeps his blade normal, his attacks wont matter much and you can regain health quickly.
Thank you!! I had to learn how to parry the white wolf so Steadfast Block and Precision Defense Focus helped to that end. It actually wasn't too bad when you get the timing down..the wolf will run up and jump in front of you first and THEN lunge forward..although it took about half a dozen restarts before figuring that out. Because the animation is so fast, I started blocking, while in Punisher mode, right as the wolf landed his jump before lunging forward. So many perfect parries 🥲 Also, I had to equip an HP Up so that I had more of a buffer from the occasional stray hit. For anyone wondering, I unequipped a Lightning + Magic Focus as well as the Strength Plus.
Your tips really saved my life with the White Terror! 😁 And in all honesty, I didn't need to use thundara for the rest of the fight. Basically what I did after your video explained when to use my limit break when it goes for Earsplitting Howl, I increase it's stagger gauge as quickly as possible using Focused Thrust to stagger it, then used Sonic boom, build up some ATB with heavy attacks, then immediately use Infinity's End. It died afterwards. 😁
This guide is definitely the most useful one dealing with White Terror. The only slight change I would offer is in the first round. It's much faster to hold square to draw enemies into a group and then thundaga them
Just want to say "Thank You!" I am not a professional gamer and have a life beyond my PS5. I am about to pass 400 hours because I am stubborn and will platinum Rebirth as well! After using strategies from a couple of others and spending 4 hours, I switched to your strategy. Though I took 1.5 hours on it, I had a good feeling with this strategy and just waited for a good run.
for anyone having trouble with the Ironclad fight and his graviga, what made it really easy for me is once he uses it, just keep dodging around the edges of the ring, far away from him, and he will keep casting firaga and it will heal you, in that time dodging and running away you will build up ATB for thundara and your limit break, simply move your moves after you're healed and you'll beat him. A little more time consuming but it works really well.
I highly recommend the Wall materia. I replaced the Strength materia with Wall and used it whenever I could. This will make the run much safer, allowing you to make some mistakes without dying XD
Huge thanx my awesome dude White terror beast (round2) was giving me a hard time, but with your strategy it was easy and I beat it from the fist time..
Thanks for the video. Ironclad got me to a literal 1 HP with Graviga, which really caught me off-guard since I didn't see him use it in your video, but I managed to keep my cool and beat him first try (against him, screw White Terror).
If anyone reads this and is still struggling, I got you. I swapped slipstream saber for rune blade, picked up full power magic and limit break damage. Drop the elemental weapon materia(and lightning it's linked to). Pull the two purples up (since they don't need to be linked). Then in the armor slots you just emptied put swiftcast and thunder. I promise you it's a lot more damage and roughly the same survivability (if not more because you'll be absorbing more) Basically full power magic is busted with optinoob's setup, rune blade a far better choice imo.
This took me a ton to beat too. I did a similar strategy except my magic bonus wasn't maxed so I couldn't get enough MP back from Thundara to get back to full MP. What ended up working me was instead of Swiftcast and Thunder I did Enemy Skill and Steadfast Block. The boost in stats from Enemy Skill was not only enough to get me full MP from Thandara but it also gave me Sonic Boom which made every Thundara do 9999. Steadfast Block also helped a ton against the wolf since it helps negate a lot of the damage you take when countering. This made it so I was almost always topped off against the wolf and can even take a takedown to the face and still have enough HP to recover once. Also another tip against the wolf to those who suck at dodging, you can hold down block and just use the triggers to slow down time when it is about to use a move and that way you can tell if it is going to grab you or not. Another thing that helped me against the last boss was just staying airborne and spamming ranged attack on it's right leg. I found it a lot easier to control where I was and just spamming dodge was enough to not get hit for the most part. I did appreciate the video letting me know I could get a Thandara in after getting hit and still have enough time to get back behind it again. If I felt like I was about to get hit by something big I just hit LB as well to help prevent the damage. That triple strike move one shot me each time. Also idk what happened maybe I was too far to the side or something but I had one time where LB didn't break Concentrate. I tried to keep going but spent way too much time trying to whittle it's HP down. Disorder x3 didn't do enough damage to break Concentrate unless I had Sonic Boom active and I ended up dying thinking I could block the charge move and getting one-shot lol. Either way I appreciate these guides. I definitely get why a lot of people are giving up on these/not finding them fun but the sense of accomplishment is real.
I don't think I can express how much I despise these Brutal/Legendary challenges. Even with your amazing guides, the cheapness and unfairness of these bouts really makes me want to physically assault everyone each and every developer who was involved.
I do not subscribe to channels a lot, I'm only subscribed to nine total. But you are number ten, these guides are great and simple. It took me a lot of tries, but your strategy on Rulers of the Outer Worlds saved my hide. Keep it up!
These legendary bouts are killing me I couldn't have gotten past that wolf without your advice 💀 The rest is still rough though. I haven't done the brutal bouts
This was by far the hardest of the solo legendary bouts for me. Tips that helped me hit R3 to lock onto the enemy (lol dummy me for not figuring it out earlier). Also for the White Terror just hold R1 before White Terror is about to attack as I thought you had to hit R1 just when he was attacking. Now onto Cloud and Zack!
I honestly think this was the hardest solo battle, and it's done! Thanks for the strategy! I've added barrier to the build, so if someone is struggling here, I advice to do the same. It gets you through the wolf and the last enemy without any trouble
I used barrier on both as their attacks are mostly physical. The last one uses firaga if I remember correctly but that heals you. Just keep in mind that if you're too far from him he uses Graviga so try to avoid that. Good luck
I was having trouble for awhile before I realized I put 2 mp absorb instead of an hp absorb. I was able to get to round 5 without it when I realized lol. I did swap with the enemy skill hp absorb like the other commenter said. Beautiful!
i discovered when fighting that filthy mutt to avoid his explosion, u can cast sleep when he starts to glow and hell reset and itll get u time to get your bearings together (can only do it 3xs though but u can cast stop too 3x (recommend waiting till hes staggered if you can)
As others have said, what finally got me through the last battle was Thundaga at the first Sharpen with Swiftcast. After that, he mostly used Firaga which gave me free health and time to build ATB. It was easy after that. For the Wolf, I used Prime Mode to help deplete his health faster.
This is a great guide in fights 1-4. What it doesn’t cover is the great rng they got in round 5 where the giant didn’t use graviga. If you don’t want to waste your time getting to round 5 and having to start over I’d recommend bringing chakra or healing materia. He’ll bring you to 1 hp during the fight and the thundara absorption doesn’t do enough to protect you from getting one shot by a basic attack. Basically, yes, this guide works but you’ll have to flawlessly execute to win round 5, with chakra or healing you don’t have to worry about that. It can be helpful in round 2 as well if you miss a few blocks on white terror. I brought time, dispel and chakra with me but kept most of this build. Fight 3 you can breach and use magic which will make the fight significantly faster and using haste each round also quickens the fight.
Got it on my first try, followed your guide just used enemy skill plasma discharge linked to hp absorb instead of the second magic focus and thunder, now on to barret
For some weird reason I had to most trouble with the Bat Eye and I was very lucky with the White Terror because he only did the grab a few times. Again a really great build and strat as usual
This is the only Legendary bout so far I didn't need your guide on and to offer my input for anyone struggling against Iron Clad. If you keep your distance and dodge around the arena in a wide circle, you can wait til he uses Firaga which will heal you with elemental and do a dodge attack from range with Cloud to build his stagger bar and build ATB's. Keep 2 ATB charges and as soon as he starts to use Sharpen, cast Thundaga, it will interrupt his Sharpen and prevent him using Thanatosian Blade. Once you stagger him, use Thundara twice to get maximum damage output and then build 2 ATB and continue to dodge around again waiting for sharpen before using Thundaga again. It takes a little longer but I took zero damage from Iron clad using the strategy and should be an easier option for anyone like me who kept getting hit by Thanatosian blade.
@@Aknut45 Ah yes, I remember I did have a max swiftcast linked with Lightning rather than an elemental weapon that's shown here. Swiftcast with wind or ice is slower than lightning which I've found whilst doing the bonds of friendship challenge.
Coming here again to clean up remaining solo challenges after I spent a lot of time in hard run and got this Challenge first try. Everyone who asked me how I did this, I advised them to your Channel
For Ironclad, I found that it was easier to keep your distance and keep strafing to the side. I could never stay behind him consistently. Most of his more devastating attacks aren't hard to telegraph and can be avoided this way without worrying about his backhand attack. I would just keep using Cloud's ranged attack to build up ATB for Thundara and get in close to do more damage whenever he casted Firaga. I also tried to save my Limit Break for when he casted Graviga, because that spell would drain your health down to 1 point and make the battle way more stressful.
Great guide man I got it done 2nd try. I don't know if it's been pointed out yet but I can see you have Magic Focus - Lightning twice on your build.(Not sure if they stack) I swapped them out for Time (just to Stop on stagger) And Enemy Skill for Sonic Boom+Plasma DS. It made the 3rd 4th 5th fights trivial. Thanks again for your help 😁
@@Bennes_Gaming_Setups Sonic Boom increase your damage for like 20 secs and Plasma Discharge produces a lightning blast everytime you gain an ATB (works with Yuffies Brumal Form spam btw), so it works well with Ironclad as he is weak to it
So I know this is late, but there’s a funny trick to him. If you keep using dodge rule, you’ll just end up chasing you you’ll just use fire. So, if you really wanna play it safe time your thunder spell the moment he is fire spell get you, so that way you take more hp for free. (Yes, mashing Dodge roll Will make the fight last longer, but is more safe in my opinion)
In theory you could stagger him really fast with Focused Blade whenever he pressures you. That's how I did Chapter XIII on HARD with him. Also, I tested stacking Magic Focus twice and it didn't seem to do anything to increase the damage of spells. I'd put something more useful like First Strike and ATB Boost.
Thanks for the info, I thought Magic Focus did stack, i'll have to have another check before i do the next guide after todays. They do stack, but i think there is some bug, or its because they exceed the magic damage cap (+100%). If you got all magic boosting gear on and then take it off, it appears it doesnt do anything, but you if unequip the Magic Up and stuff and then check, it seems to work then. I wonder if this is the case with all boosts, the Magic Up for example says you cant exceed +100%, but impossible to do as there is only 1, or so we thought. But perhaps its a mistranslation and it means altogether........ So you have Enemy Skill, Magic Up, Magic Focus, innate Folio increase in damage etc....
I ended up doing the Iron Clad by using ranged sword attacks and barely getting close to him, and it was super easy. It seemed to make him spam firaga on me, and he never even used Sharpen. Any time I did get hit by a sword sweep, he would hit me with firaga before I got hit again so I was always at full health. Took a little longer because he never got pressured/staggered, but it was super easy. White Terror was definitely the hardest of the fights, but on my winning attempt it never used the throat clamp OR earsplitting howl. It just ended up getting staggered before the first howl, and then I killed it after the stagger before it used it, without ever using my limit, since I was saving it for a howl that never came. My third round was a mess, I was a bit slow on the limit break so I didn't stagger him, and then just had to continue to chase him around for minutes on end through 2 more concentrates, until I finally got him close enough that a focus strike would stagger him, and I could kill him with a couple thundaras. But I got it in the end, hopefully the rest of these solo ones aren't too bad. I know some people say Cait Sith's is a pain, so I'm worried about that Already did Aerith's though. Only need to finish these legendary bouts for my platinum.
This strategy is absolutely dummy strong. First try, no real "oh shit" moments. I opted for a swift cast lightning instead of the double magic focus and used an ATB Boost to really just let off the spells. Nice job bro.
I swapped out strength materia with enemy skill. Kept plasma discharge on for all fights. And used Rancid breath on the last two fights, if you are lucky it will put silence+stop+bio on them. And I guess the silence will stop him from casting gravity, which reduce you to 1hp. Can also do sonic boom for the buffs and mind blast to get a stagger if you are close. For some reason I could never stagger the third fight, so that took a while.
Thanks Opti, guide worked like a charm after a few attempts at getting timings right, particularly on White Terror and Ironclad. The staying close to Ironclad didn't work for me, so I just played keep-away and used Cloud's basic ranged attacks until my ATB charged enough for a Thundara. When he used Graviga I used my Limit Break and nullified the damage completely because I read that move would take you to 1 HP. Then, keep-away again and Thundara. Just before he got staggered, I used my second Limit and boom, victory! Will be attempting Barret's tomorrow! I do wish that we were able to choose our Limits like in Remake, I'm not a huge fan of building our levels even if we do use cool moves like Synergy attacks. Gotterdammerung will be absolutely useless with Aerith's legendary bout I feel because Healing Wind isn't great.
once again I have to use your vids man. I tried it myself but i ended up screaming at my tv. and calling square enix names (Wich they deserve) 700 in game hours and half of it are by retrying mini games and fights. only reason I am trying for platinum is because assassin's Creed shadows has been delayed. I don't understand how you come up with these strategies because square enix do not give us any info on how to fight like you fight these battles. thanks again for bringing me this far
I would like to give advice to those who haven't beaten the last brutal one and don't have the limit break option. You can go to the other side of the map of where ever the white terror does earsplitting howl and spam dodge to avoid the attack. At most you get hit twice, but you should have enough time to heal up. I say this cause I haven't gotten the limit break item yet cause I am bad at the game and haven't beaten the last brutal challenge yet. This build is great, but I know not everyone has the item so thought I'd get my two cents in. Otherwise yeah to follow this dude if you have it, lot quicker and safer to do it this way. Edit: Probably should give the build I used going in to help. Umbral Blade Cetran Armlet Full Throttle Wristguards Weapon: Lightning+Win Materia Linked to Elemental Materia, MP Up, Enemy Skill Spirit Up, Healing Armlet: Chakara, Binding, Fire+Ice Materia Linked to Elemental Materia, Barrier Materia, Strength UP, HP Up, Time(last one ain't mandatory, just had 3 extra MP) Max HP +500, Defense +50, Reprieve(mandatory), Limit Gauge Guard(advised) First round isn't hard, but to get through the wolf you have to dodge his attacks and wait for the openings to slowly build up the stagger bar. When he's initially collecting energy, you can use this moment to either focus thrust to get a little more on the stagger or heal with the multiple options you have. Then he'll do 2 attacks, in which you're just booking it as far away as you possible can. You can easily get out of range of earsplitting howl, and after it's done, you slowly repeat the process. If you don't think you can get out, you use the sleep ASAP and it just cancels the move. You can slowly regain enough ATB to get one bar, so use it wisely with what you want to do. Again, it's a lot slower than the method above, so only use it if you don't have the item for limit break. The moment you get that limit break, wait for earsplitting howl and knock him dead. Don't wait for a stagger, all you need is full ATB and this will pressure him so that you can stagger the dang creature and kill it. Everything else is just follow the guide as is, nothing really changes.
Order of these fiends is well out of whack. In order of difficulty for me (easiest>Hardest) - Round 1, Round 4, Round 3, Round 5, Round 2. Whoever thought putting the White Terror in the second round is an absolute sadist. Now that this challenge is done I look forward to never fighting another White Terror, ever again.....! lol Thanks for the guide mate, pivotal in beating this one.
The more I played the more I realize between this build and another content creator. This maybe the optimal build to ensure you always have MP and can heal from doing weakness damage but it is not that reliable and you can die attempt to cast Thunder But a few things... 1.) You need an HP up/Subversion/Barrier. I mean if you're Optinoob you don't but just having that bit of insurance goes along away. Having an ACTUAL healing materia is important. It sucks but it will save your life to cast Regen and then go to town 2.) I also feel you NEED Enemy Skill + HP. It feels so important so you don't have to rely on materia slots to boost damage. Just having that burst that most of the enemies are weak to is great. It also ensures you get a boost in ATB so in situations where you cannot get 2 bars you CAN get close if not out right - especially if you can find room for Haste. There's also Sonic Boom. You don't want this war of attrition to not be on your side and its an insanely fast MP-less buff to your attack and magic. You need all the help you can get 3.) Skill are your friend. It goes without saying. But Firebolt Slash is helpful. It has a dummy long lag for the fire portion but it doesn't matter. If the bull or Ironclad are casting fire and you're attacking if you have a free bar this is the move you want to move. Its especially important if you cannot spare MP Absorb + Lightning/Mag Foc + Lightning. Many of my rounds went fast because of the natural synergy of hammering attacks into abilities. Especially Discord during stagger. It rearly gets mentioned but connecting with the move gives you ATB so with 2 bars you can extend into a free bar by spamming the attack. It does more damage than your regular combos so may as well. 4.) Cloud's Dodge + HOLD square is on the real almost too useful in this bout. Not only will Cloud glue himself instantly to a target but R3, 4, and 5 the general strait is to stay behind these enemies. 4 is particularily sort of an outlier but in addition to that dodging in the air is really strong. The devs didn't really know what to do apparently with just letting Cloud and Yuffie using Geppo and neither do the enemies as they track really poorly. Ironclad's Grasp straight up just does not work as long as you're in the air and not immediately in front of him. He just lunges away from you. Same witth Thanatosian Slash. He just picks a direction that's not yours when if you were on the ground he would track really hard. You also have a much easier time dodging Graviga in the air.
Preciate u. Sephiroth was a pain tho. YOU HAVE TO ATTACK HIM W/ AERITH RAPIDLY. THE WHOLE FIGHT DEPENDS ON IT. STRESS THAT! Lmao thx man. On to the legendaries
Manwall saw me through the entire thing, but for ME, I had to make some changes to fit my playstyle and limitations, lol: Kept Elemental + Lightning and Wind, HP + Lightning, MP + Lightning, Elemental + Fire in armor. Had to remove both Magic Focus + Lightnings, Magic Up, and Strength Up to make room for: First Strike, Subversion for Breach (AYE could not kill that damn monster after the wolf fast enough before it cast reflect and it took AGES to come off and when it did I was doing not a lot of damage with my basic weapon before it would RECAST reflect!), ATB Boost, Swiftcast + Lightning (saved my ASS in the wolf fight AND with that last monster). I did NOT want to give up Magic Up, but with the Genji Gloves I still did a lot of damage, but now I could comfortably breach any defenses for later enemies. Thundaga turned out to not only counter that wolf fire blast move, but also the next enemy’s concentrate move and the final one’s Graviga! Graviga, even WITH manwall will WRECK you can reduce your health bar dramatically! I found out accidentally that hitting the monster with Thundaga will interrupt that move that must be charged up! A LIFESAVER! So build up and try to keep two ATB bars most of the time. I ONLY cast Thundaga to counter Graviga and during stagger, similar tactic to the wolf. Can’t wait to get platinum!!! 😄😄
Another ridiculous fight....another one down thanks to your guide! NGL the White Terror was ridiculous - I took out a Magic Focus and swapped in a Swiftcast instead - it made the next 3 fights longer as a result, but it also made White Terror a true 50-50 battle instead of dying 3/4 of the time. Cutting down the cast time was a gamechanger for White Terror. It only took about 5-6 tries for the final battle to get the hang on being on his right side (I'd say even more be on his right side more than being behind his right butt cheek, more of the safe zone), but NGL I think it took me 50-60X to get to the final battle before I made the switch to Swiftcast - then only took about 10-12x to get those 5 final boss opps & the timing down . I'm scared about those last 2 fights, but at least I know which guides I'm going to lean on...break for tonight, on to Barrett this weekend. Thanks so much!
Instead of using the second Magic Focus, I put on Swiftcast. I used Prime Mode for some fights for a quick ATB charge. My RNG was very good for this challenge. Round 2, there were no binding attacks. Round 5, Iron Clad used Firaga a lot. Either I got good or very lucky. Played on the latest patch.
I don't consider myself an "expert" gamer, so I was dreading Legendary fights, but your guides are so accessible that even I can breeze through. Thank you so much for the time you put into these and sharing them with the rest of us. Cloud done, now onto Barret.
Believe me you are an expert gamer if you can breeze through these even with this guide.
@@ghostinhale5952 lol i know what is this guy talking about. These guides are amazing but still difficult.
Could not believe how much you helped me with the last Brutal Challenge, and it seems I was right to trust you again for this one! You’re awesome!
This mans is the real legendary Soldier!
You’ll have to be very careful of Graviga doing that
I did it everykinda way with dmg instead of gotthemdang. Havent got that yet xd
He uses Graviga and kills you if you do this. Don't listen to it.
he'll use Graviga and scharpen with a long range attack as well.
1. the Graviga will always leave you with 1hp I think, never died from it at least.
2. the one after sharpen can be avoided by just always dodging directly
3. but best of all, at least for me, for some reason if you manage to interupt the sharpen with a thunder lvl3, he'll never use sharpen AND graviga again. maybe some kind of bug, but I'll take it. so try to save the first thunder lvl3 and keep dodging until you see him sharpen and cast your lightning on him.
you might need swiftcast for it though, I switched a magic focus with swiftcast for this.
Interesting Info - Plasma Discharge works will Yuffies Brumal Form spam ;) (it will trigger every few seconds as it seems to have a hidden cooldown)
Great guide! & this tip helped me massively esp with the wolf. thanks!!
do you have it on weapon or armor?
I do this now (keep dying in later battles 'cause I suck), and it's funny seeing them all fall into the middle to be killed. 😂
@@mehmeh92I suck too, but this is hands down the best guide. Every other guide requires you to be pro level 😅
Following Opti's guide, I had to make some adjustments, in case anyone needs it.
Loadout/Setup:
- Weapon: Slipstream Saber. (HP Absorption - Enemy Skill) (Elemental - Lightning & Wind) (Mp Aborption - Lightning) Summon: Gilgamesh
- Armor: (Elemental - Fire & Ice) Steadfast Block, First Strike, (HP Absorption - Lightning) Subversion, ATB Boost
- Accessory: Gotterdammerung
- Skills: Unrelenting Punisher, Formidable Counter, Attack Damage +5%, Magic Attack Power +20
- Shortcuts on Cloud: Sonic Boom, Plasma Discharge
Fight 1/5
- Do AoE combo attack (hit [] then hold [] to suck all the bandits in)
- Use Mindblast
Fight 2/5
- Use ATB Boost (L1+R1)
- Use Plasma Discharge
- Use Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance)
- Activate Punisher Mode (Triangle)
WARNING
- SAVE YOUR LIMIT FOR Earsplitting Howl
- Hold R1 to block (better, don't hold, try to do a perfect block every time the enemy attacks)
- Watch for Throat Clamp, you will need to let go of R1 and press O to dodge it.
- Watch for Earsplitting Howl, use your limit
Repeat
- Build ATB by blocking and hitting while in Punisher Mode (perfect block is great but not necessary)
- When ATB is full, use Thundara, this will recover HP and MP
- If you stagger it, keep building ATB and using Thundara
Fight 3/5
- ATB Boost
- Plasma Discharge
- Dodge away
- Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance)
Repeat
- Keeps dodging to its ass and attack
- If it casts Firaga, let it, since you'll absorb the damage
- Save up to 2 ATB bars
- If it uses Concetrate, either Limit Break or cast Thundaga
- It should be staggered, keep attacking to gain ATB, then cast Thundara
Fight 4/5
- ATB Boost
- Plasma Discharge
- Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance)
- Spam Dodge (O) to run dodge its attacks (make sure you lock on target)
- If it casts Sanguine Scourge (the homing orb), dodge until it gets to you, then dodge in the other direction
- Everytime you dodge, you can range attack up to 3 times, do this as much as you can
- When you have ATB, use Thundara
- When it's pressured, keep attack and Thundara on ATB
- Limit Break if you think you can kill it
- If it still lives, it'll cast Mana Shield, which will render your regular attacks useless
- Keep attacking to build ATB, and Thundara
- At this time, it will use Demonic Slice three times in a row, keep dodging
Fight 5/5
- ATB Boost
- Plasma Discharge
- Sonic Boom (refresh this when it runs out and you have a chance)
- Dodge behind the Ironclad, stay within melee range
- If you stray far, it will cast Gravija and that is bad news
- Try to roll to its right side, which is your left, the side where it's holding the giant sword
- Use your limit break as soon as you're behind it and able
- Cast Thundara whenever you're behind, to heal and recover MP
- If it casts Firaga, just ignore because you'll absorb the damage
- Thanatosian Blade is a frontal AND small AoE, run away if you're low on HP
- Limit Break whenever available

Thats a great find mate, sure others will find it helpful!!
Did it first try with this setup! Definitely recommend Swiftcast instead of Elemental. Thundaga is very clutch for healing.
My favourite thing about this method is the fact I suck at parry, so prime mode's block mechanic saves my bacon. Cheers for another incredible guide.
Legend man this helped me right out. Wolf was by far the hardest in this lineup and luckily, it's only fight 2.
By far the easiest Legendary guide! Thanks again! I'm getting closer to finishing this brutal challenges.
Thanks so much for these fantastic and manageable guides to help obtain the Platinum trophy! Keep up the good work. Will definitely keep an eye out on your channel for part 3 😀.
Hands down, you have the best guides to get anybody through these nightmare fuel challenges
I just had to join, the amount of time you saved me on this run is just amazing, keep it up legend
Thank you mate, appreciate it ;)
Thank u is just not enough to repay you
Great guide!
Enemy skill doesn't link with lightning so you might as well not have the lightning there or swap out strength up and keep the magic focus
Manwall got me through this one
Thanks for the tip, got me past that effing wolf.
What did you replace for the barrier materia
@@leocreuu3254if you want to use this particular build I would remove the strength up materia. I went full melee though.
@@Checkmate_Bro7 so replace the strength up for barrier and keep everything else the same?
@@leocreuu3254 I removed one lightning and one magic focus and traded it for Hp UP and Barrier.
The Barrier seems to really help especially for the Iron Golem (especially if you suck at dodging, like me, because of the camera angle management aspect 😂)
For that damn dog, the HP up will actually give you enough of an HP buffer to tank the hits in punisher mode (especially if you can't get the perfect parry). The goal of the lightning + hp absorb is to ensure that your HP drain is not too negative during this fight.
Just beat hard mode, only have chadley’s legendaries and a couple minigames to go before platinum 😮 these guides are a godsend
Vouch for that, i was saving the limitbreak just in case and ass soon as I saw the Graviga LB and boom
Very good shout, I should have recommended saving that limit break in case that attack happens, similar to what we do with the White Wolf and the Hippo
You also can dodge graviga, very small timing but can
I lost my run due to graviga and then getting hit 😢
So many perfect parries 🥲
Also, I had to equip an HP Up so that I had more of a buffer from the occasional stray hit.
For anyone wondering, I unequipped a Lightning + Magic Focus as well as the Strength Plus.
Thanks for these. Don't think i would have had the patience to figure these all out on my own.
Brooo…. I was just looking for this after your “rulers of the outer world” guide. POG
That guide was clutch
Me too!
Huge thanx my awesome dude
White terror beast (round2) was giving me a hard time, but with your strategy it was easy and I beat it from the fist time..
Thanks for the video. Ironclad got me to a literal 1 HP with Graviga, which really caught me off-guard since I didn't see him use it in your video, but I managed to keep my cool and beat him first try (against him, screw White Terror).
You dropped this 👑 King.
I think that belongs to Tonberry
If anyone reads this and is still struggling, I got you.
I swapped slipstream saber for rune blade, picked up full power magic and limit break damage. Drop the elemental weapon materia(and lightning it's linked to). Pull the two purples up (since they don't need to be linked). Then in the armor slots you just emptied put swiftcast and thunder. I promise you it's a lot more damage and roughly the same survivability (if not more because you'll be absorbing more)
Basically full power magic is busted with optinoob's setup, rune blade a far better choice imo.
Thanks, the change helped
Keep it up!
Thank you mate, appreciate that ;)
I was able to follow this guide with NOT having the Gotterdammerung accessory! Phew! As Tifa would say "I worked up a sweat!"
Worked perfectly I just found it easier switching Strengh Up to a Steadfast Block, especially for the 2nd battle. Thanks !
These legendary bouts are killing me
I couldn't have gotten past that wolf without your advice 💀
The rest is still rough though.
So do you use manawall or just regular barrier to help get you through that part. Im gonna start this up pretty soon. These guides are gold!!!
I used barrier on both as their attacks are mostly physical. The last one uses firaga if I remember correctly but that heals you. Just keep in mind that if you're too far from him he uses Graviga so try to avoid that. Good luck
Another great tip I found helpful, was using limit break when he uses the gravity spell. That spell hits like a truck.
I apologise for the Graviga, I honestly just forgot to mention it, staying close to him seems to make him less likely to cast it
I honestly found this challenge to be harder than rulers of the outer worlds. That wolf wrecked me. At least im done with this challenge now.
I'm struggling with the white terror as we speak 😵
You have to have swiftcast for this to work. I just tried without it and I didn't cast it quick enough
@@Aknut45 Ah yes, I remember I did have a max swiftcast linked with Lightning rather than an elemental weapon that's shown here. Swiftcast with wind or ice is slower than lightning which I've found whilst doing the bonds of friendship challenge.
Worked great. Did need a little training to get the pattern. Nearly did it first try. Then it took me a few trys. 30 min of practice later its done!
Thanks man. Your video save my time. I dont have gotterdammerung, but your tips still help me wo win this trial.
I can't do it. White terror is too strong, I tried so many times but it's impossible for me to defeat him using this build...
Thanks mate, will do it in the morning since it's midnight here
Swapped magic up for precision defence, makes the white terror fight so much easier being able to block throat clamp
Thank you mate your guides really work like a charm
Thanks for the build worked like a dream especially the wolf strategy that was class now on to the next thank you
Coming here again to clean up remaining solo challenges after I spent a lot of time in hard run and got this Challenge first try.
Everyone who asked me how I did this, I advised them to your Channel
Massive shoutout to Optinoob fr. I'm not sure I could do these challenges without these guides!
I don't know if it's been pointed out yet but I can see you have Magic Focus - Lightning twice on your build.(Not sure if they stack)
I swapped them out for Time (just to Stop on stagger)
And Enemy Skill for Sonic Boom+Plasma DS. It made the 3rd 4th 5th fights trivial.
Thanks again for your help 😁
They dont unless you take away Magic Up, didnt discover until afterwards. Im not sure if its because the +100% is reached or not
Hey man can you tell me how to use enemy skill in the last 3 rounds correctly? cant find a guide :) thanks
(Yes, mashing Dodge roll Will make the fight last longer, but is more safe in my opinion)
love the way you guide me, thank you
Your guides got me thru all the brutal🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Fuck it - after two hours I replaced your Strength Up/Magic Up with Steadfast and Precision and the tide turned.
I’ll replace one of the magic focus for enemy skill helpsn
Help*
I used manawall, and spam thunder. thanks for your guide dude
You have the best strategy. Its the thing i was missing in the game. Another one ✅️
Thanks for the guide! I finally beat it
This strategy is absolutely dummy strong. First try, no real "oh shit" moments. I opted for a swift cast lightning instead of the double magic focus and used an ATB Boost to really just let off the spells. Nice job bro.
For real, without a strategy i was struggling on white terror
Yea I dunno why Aerith has a weapon skill that increases Limit Break Damage by 10% lol
@@Optinooby very weird lol
This helped me with the final battle great comment
once again I have to use your vids man.
Umbral Blade
Cetran Armlet
Full Throttle Wristguards
Weapon: Lightning+Win Materia Linked to Elemental Materia, MP Up, Enemy Skill Spirit Up, Healing
Armlet: Chakara, Binding, Fire+Ice Materia Linked to Elemental Materia, Barrier Materia, Strength UP, HP Up, Time(last one ain't mandatory, just had 3 extra MP)
Max HP +500, Defense +50, Reprieve(mandatory), Limit Gauge Guard(advised)
First round isn't hard, but to get through the wolf you have to dodge his attacks and wait for the openings to slowly build up the stagger bar.
Now that this challenge is done I look forward to never fighting another White Terror, ever again.....! lol
Thanks for the guide mate, pivotal in beating this one.
This helped again my friend from another wifi
The more I played the more I realize between this build and another content creator. This maybe the optimal build to ensure you always have MP and can heal from doing weakness damage but it is not that reliable and you can die attempt to cast Thunder
But a few things...
1.) You need an HP up/Subversion/Barrier. I mean if you're Optinoob you don't but just having that bit of insurance goes along away. Having an ACTUAL healing materia is important. It sucks but it will save your life to cast Regen and then go to town
2.) I also feel you NEED Enemy Skill + HP. You need all the help you can get
3.) Skill are your friend.
Manwall saw me through the entire thing, but for ME, I had to make some changes to fit my playstyle and limitations, lol:
Kept Elemental + Lightning and Wind, HP + Lightning, MP + Lightning, Elemental + Fire in armor.
And now there’s TWO batles won in 1 daayyy!!!! 🤩
Got it on the first try! Thank you!
