Thank you Brad I'm putting a set of these on my supercharged Grand Prix. I see one of the comments saying why would you put aftermarket hood pins on when you have a perfectly good working Hood latch.. it's because when you have thousands of dollars worth of upgrades and mods under your hood. It's easy to smash your window and pulled the hood latch. But now with these security locks on your Hood. You can now ensure higher safety. Like my father always said. "Locks only keep honest people out. If someone wants to get in bad enough they'll get in no matter what". R.I.P Frank Walter Rahm
For future reference for your next pin job cotton swabs with paint on them at the tips of your pins this will ensure a solid marking on the bottom of your hood.
I suppose they could but honestly I bought them for the look and the fact that the hood rattles on the highway. If ppl are trying to steal your engine parts they must be pretty desperate lol
@@BradzBuildz Thx for the reply, but the locks are an anti theft device/deterrent, thieves have no problem breaking into a vehicle, but if it wont start they'll immediately try to access the engine compartment, if the locks have a universal key, then problem solved, unless you do something else to disable the vehicle that prevents it from starting, my pt earlier wasn't to steal car parts,if they can buy a kit and access the engine compartment and get the vehivle running they'll already have the whole car to strip down ,so in addition to the locks you need to b clever enough to hide a kill switch very well or something that will prevent the vehicle from starting
So I have the older ones with just the pins my car had a blowout today I was considering using locks to keep people from being able to touch the engine would you recommend it or just a new hood latch?
If your hood latch is broke I would definitely replace it so if you have hood pins then it will act as a secondary lock to keep people out. I personally wasn’t worried about that where I live. I just added the hood pins because the hood is very light and has way more lift than I like on the highway.
B_Mautofied The whole point of the hood pins is for any hood lighter than metal so it does not fly open in high speeds. Metal does not need them unless you were just doing it for style.
Nice video B_Mautofied. My car already got a set of hood pins, but the keys are broken on me, do you know if the keys are the same (I can buy a new set of keys and open the hood) or they are different?
Thinking about installing to prevent bums from stealing my battery. Thanks for making!
Your welcome
Thank you Brad

Great idea! Thank you
This also to prevent thief’s of opening your hood and replacing your ECM or removing your battery cables during a robbery.
Thx for the video:
Question; what's to stop somebody from buying a kit and using the keys in it to unlock somebody's hood?

@@youdontsay2181 makes sense. I’m not sure if the keys are universal or not

mine hood latch is completely busted, can used these as a substitute?
Yes you can
Would there be any problem if my hood is a liitle curved ?
Why do you need hood pins if you have the factory hood latch
Because the hoods on these cars catch a lot of air on the highway.

Cool video but I used white lightning grease or any type of grease for my markers for the Hood
I really need my in but I have nobody to do them so frustrating
It’s easy
I marked mine with toothpaste
In prison we use toothpaste as glue and for pimples .
Thank u so much for your help
I bougth mine yesterday and in the next days i am going to install em :)
Wish you could point the camera at what you're looking at.
How are they holding up? I want to stop thieves from stealing my car battery.
They work great. You just might have to re tighten them every once in a while or use lock tight. They also give the car a much better look
@@BradzBuildz Thanks, I will go with these over the knockoff aerocatches. The real aerocatches are too expensive.
Helpful. Thanks.

guoguodd1 I think the keys are the same but not for sure on that
Mine broke to and also my 2nd set as the little pin that spins in lnside the stud to lock it snapped..
Do you have to line them up every time you open the hood? and do you think they are worth it?
i just ordered a set lol
They stay lined up and yes they are worth it. My hood was getting some lift at high speed but not anymore
thanks for the video. I'm going to buy them to up the security on my car
What size drill bit was that
I don’t remember
Good job !
Thank you!
Where did you buy this ??
I got them on eBay. I would recommend buying a better style. These didn’t hold up to the rain and snow.
I’m sorry but you skipped everything what this video is all about
