Its a truck, small but definitely a truck. Actually not that small either comparing it with other trucks, towing, payload and interior room. Just because it offers a better ride, better handling charististicts and easier to ingress and egress doesn't make it a car. Its a truck with good fuel economy. Only thing the video he mentions 1600 to 1700 lb payload thats wrong and misleading. The Ford Maverick depending on the configuration can be as high as 1500 lbs but also less, again depending on the individual trucks configuration.

Thanks for watching. I have some other videos you should check out of mine. A few of them show mavericks with payload in the 1600-1700 range. Thank you for the comment. This new hybrid awd maverick should be a hit!

Not stock, from Ford Motor Company. So hard to depict differences when comparing to other stock manufacturers

Please stop throwing out numbers that aren't correct. The 4K tow package Maverick can not tow a 4,000 pound trailer and most likely not a 3,500 pound one. By the time you add the driver and passenger weight, fluids, items in cab, bed and trailer you are down to a 3,200 pound trailer max.

Thanks for the comment, a lot of truth in your comment about once you include a full load inside. But 4k lb is the tow rating that Ford is claiming on the site. Thanks for watching.

Great for gas mileage, kudos for that. But it's too expensive for a little little truck. Over 30K Not worth it in my opinion, not any day. Warranty, really? What's it worth after the warranty's out?

Pricing has gotten crazy on all cars anymore! A typical Half ton is now $60k and still has cloth interior!

There not much torque with hybrid to tow, even with 4 k package. Not worth buying.

Classifying something is a truck or a car isn't determined by whether it has a bed or is body-on-frame, that gets cause and effect backward. If it is primarily for carrying passengers on road (even if those are dirt roads), it's a car. If it is primarily for carrying stuff or off-roading, it's a truck. Maverick is very clearly a car and Superduty is very clearly a truck. Ranger and F-150 are a bit more ambiguous, though historically both were clearly trucks. I lean towards calling my Ranger a car, but every time I do, people ask if I traded in my truck. The Land Rover Defender is a truck despite being neither body-on-frame nor having a bed.

By your definition, most F-150s and Silverados with all their luxury features and under 1500 lb payloads that never haul anything more than kids and groceries are cars. Hmm, I think you're right!

I don’t know if I agree. Depending on how you spec your maverick it could be a truck. You can get one that has a 1500lb payload and can tow up to 4000lbs. So the payload is 600 to 700 pounds more than your average car and towing is 3000 pounds more than your average car. so it can definitely do truck like things even if it’s not body on frame. Body on frame is not the only way to classify something as a truck because 40-50 years ago I think all cars were body on frame. Also, you’re colluding something that can off-road as a definition of a truck.

@@hookstrpd well again they can still do truck like things, regardless of how they are used. I don’t think the way that somebody uses a vehicle even if it’s only for getting groceries could be called a car simply because it’s not used as doing truck like things.

@@sammyjammy6647 It can do truck things. So can a BMW X5. So can a GMC Acadia. It's not really about what it can do, it's about what it's intended to do.
The first gen Ford Focus Wagon and the contemporary Ford Ranger both had the same 1,100 lbs payload rating. Does that make the Focus a truck or the Ranger a car?
