Considering that these are Canadian prices its still a lot of money and frankly at this point people might as well start looking at Super Duty's as the price of the smaller trucks keeps creeping up. If you are going to get price gouged you might as well get the best truck possible.
Mavericks are really cool ans great value vehicles but lets be honest if you got one of those youd be paying 42k for what is just a 25k truck with heated seats. If you get the xl for under 30k the value is still pretty great but over 40k is wild.

Ford is in business to make money and the shareholders make sure they do. New model year always has a price increase at least the Maverick offers new options and include some as standard. It also helps keep used prices up so it helps those who took a risk with a new model in 22 doesn't take a tank and hopefully has a decent resale. With supply low and demand high also helps used vehicle market. JMHO

So I guess it depends what your comparing it to. That's a truck with fuel economy should be similar to the 24 model year and that was 42 city and 33 hwy. Very few used or should I say abused trucks for that kind of coin. Of course many add options to increase that price but for a base model it comes fairly equiped.

I think it's the price. I wanted the maverick tremor or fx4. I ended up getting a 3 year old ranger fx4 with luxury/tech package with 25k miles for $30k. The maverick was over $45k. There was no way I was going to spend more money on less of a truck.

Too expensive now. I ordered a 2023 Maverick XLT hybrid with the Ford A-plan. I also received price protection on the msrp increases that happened during the 2023 model. I waited 13 months, but it was worth it. Similar 2024 would be over $33k MSRP. A much tougher sell.
Toyota should bring the Hilux Champ, a very basic single cab reliable pickup truck. A 2.0 or 2.7 liter gasoline 4 cilinder or a 2.4 diesel for under 15000 dollar. With a liftkit and bigger wheels you can opt for a max 20000 dollar truck in the USA, in the United Kingdom 14000 pounds basic. In Thailand 13000 dollar basic. They will destroy the pick up segment and other brands have to follow them. Basic, cheap, 1000kg load, no fancy electronics, no fancy interior, a reliable diesel engine from the normal Hilux. Everything cheap but good and reliable. And that is what people want. Toyota will crush the pickup segment for real work trucks.

My local Ford dealer has four 2024 Mavericks on the lot, the Subaru dealer has 9 Foresters on the lot and 11 Crosstreks. I’ve got a 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid with a Line X Bedliner and 10,000 miles on it. Gets consistently 40.6 mpg. It’s Cactus Grey. What’s it worth retail? In Sarasota Florida and the vehicle is always in a parking garage or home garage. It’s never had anything heavy hauled in it or pulled behind it. Perfect condition.
I'm sorry I can't venture the value of a vehicle in a completely different t market but I can give you a trick. Look online at those for sale that have similar equipment amd mileage. Ignore the most expensive and even those at average prices. The real retail value are those thst are the 20% least expensive. Ofcourse ignore those that are accidented or are in bad physical condition.

Don't get me wrong, just like myself they are not perfect but it's not just junk. Just because you can not counter that the Ford Maverick is far better bang for the buck. Unlike the Ridgeline it has a higher ground clearance, it can come with a full size spare, you can get to the spare if the bed is loaded, it is less expensive to buy, less expense at the gas pump and you don't have an engine that stops cylinder causing uneven wear and cooling in those cylinders before being used. The bed is higher to make it more difficult to load or unload the bed even with a lower ground clearance to allow a trunk. Which I might add if your using it as a truck and the bed is loaded the spare and what you have in the trunk is not obtainable. Let's also remember we should lift with our legs not our back, the trunk is not ergonomically correct and it's not if but when your going to have back pain with the Ridgeline. So many reasons the Ford Maverick is out selling or doubling their sales. The Ford Maverick is a far better truck but you have to remember the Ridgeline is outdated basically the same since 2006.

The turbos will rarely last 100k miles and when they go out, get your wallet out. Personally I wouldn’t buy any of the junk being made by the current American car companies. Video screens and navigation in vehicles are sometimes useful but are hardly a selling point for me. One of our vehicles have navigation, we don’t use it. If the Maverick is over 40k, Honda Ridgelines are advertised here in Texas regularly from 44-46k. Honda anything, even used with 75k miles, is better than any junk ford brand new.
$42k for a car-based truck is insane. I remember buying my 2018 Chevy Colorado Z71 4x4 with the rear locker... spanking new... for $32k. That is with the 308hp V6. I usually average 28mpg in it with my slow commute. My wife has taken over that truck now. lol I was looking to replace my 09' Escape 4cyl with a hybrid Maverick. The Escape has 217k miles on it now and is still averaging 28mpg on my commute too... without a tune up yet. I am thinking... I would rather just give it a complete overhaul and replace the trans/eng when they finally go. Save myself $42k... plus enterest... and then invest it and earn interest instead. Get myself free gas every year on the old Escape! Good thing I made myself mechanically inclined.

Learning how to be financially smart/self educated, and self-reliant/mechanically inclined has done well for me in this life.
Even with just a regular job, I have climbed out of extreme poverty up to millionaire status… and should be that many tens of times over within just a decade or two. All while living a simple life working a simple job and being kind to others (mostly).
Money is the physical representation of energy. If you owe money to anyone, you owe them your part of your life force and are in voluntary indentured servitude.

@@FordEnthusiast413 i am 61 years old. I have have three Toyotas and a Lexus since the age of 15. I had a Camry that had 537000 miles and a Lexus with 389000 miles. Look up how many recalls ford has had. It’s unbelievable.
