December, 2018: To all of those people that have/had negative comments about J D Fortune...It is a shame, yes, that Michael is no longer with them. However, it is not the fault of INXS band members NOR J D, that Michael passed away. INXS chose to seek out a new lead singer. It just so happened that they felt that J D was a good pick. I agree. J D loves the music, past and present, of INXS and poured his heart into winning that spot. He did an excellent job. Just remember, without J D, you wouldn't have had the opportunity to watch INXS perform their famous songs.
I agree, but singers can be replace although we are all unique. They need to pay their bills, and that's the only reason they continue, or greed what else? IMHO.

This singer did a good job. He even sounds like Michael. Although INXS is missing a vital person in their group and it does seem strange to hear these songs and not see Michael singing. The show must go on as they say and the whole band sounds wonderful. One of my all time favorite bands. Much love to INXS.
Interesting live appearance, this was nearing the end of INXS just before they retired. They had a brief second act without Michael Hutchence on vocals from about 2006-2011, but then realized the jig is up and without Michael it's just not the same.
I'm a longtime INXS fan from the US when they first made it big and they totally blew my mind it wasn't funny at all! Michael Hutchense was truly a master at anything he did and his voice, charisma, sexuality, etc...he had it ALL...very sad how it all ended unfortunately, but they will ALWAYS have a loyal American INXS fan, no question! Pat Monahan sounds great and looks almost like Michael too! GREAT JOB, GUYS! FOREVER INXS! :-)
Missing MH bigtime, but this guy did fine. Always loved this band, and such a tragic loss. This guy has BIG shoes to fill and he did a great job on this. I would love nothing more than to see INXS keep going. We lost our bassist this year, and are going on, to make him proud. But it GUTTED me to lose our friend and beloved band mate. INXS is huge, and it would be a shame for them to not continue. Big love to these guys.

What a bunch of total jerks commenting on here!! INXS is a BAND! Singers, drummers, guitar players are replaced. What Michael did affected the WHOLE BAND. They didnt decide to end it all, Michael did that quite selfishly. I love that the Band continue, and this guy is pretty good.

They all had bands before Michael even thought about singing. Andrew suggested it, and they made history together. But it's all they've ever known, so they should continue. The music is great. A STRONG band like INXS is like a family. If one of them is suffering they ALL feel it. When Michael died it was a total shock to all of them. They lost the most important part of their band. They didn't ask for it. They didn't plan for it. They didn't fire Michael. But what they DID DO was their best to give their fans what they FELT their fans deserved. This new singer ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS! But in order to see (hear) this you have to think of him as if he was just another instrument in the band. It's NOT about the person.., it is about the SOUND and that is EXACTLY what the audience and fans are getting. The band DID NOT have to continue after losing Michael. They were each at a point where they could have walked away from all of it and still have plenty in the bank. But they decided to soldier on because they felt that they owed it to their fans.

I thought they had an amazing chemistry when they had Terence Trent D'arby sing lead. A proven hit maker on his own, fantastic voice and he handled the stage like nobody's business! He had been writing and touring for well over a decade on his own. Look up their performances together.

jon farris could keep a crowd entertained all night on his own. he knows how to get a place moving. the band are in an impossible place without michael, trying to find a piece that'll fit, but as the first couple of miniutes show, they are rocking the place before anyone plays a note. they'd be better off without a singer than trying to replace michael. they can all sing very well, and they just need to carve out some different music, change direction again and keep it interesting. they will likely lose the fan base that were drawn to the sexuality that michael added, but you can't replace that. they were always experimental until Kick, then fairly predictable musically - it was more about style and sex. i love the band and hope they find a groove that suits them and fits them all.
As a saints fan I was just listening to the actual song (INXS new sensation) hoping it would be performed at a saints AFL grand final one day…. Then I remembered it has already been performed at a saints grand final. This was brilliant!!!

I have never forgiven INXS for going with JD Fortune. They could have gone in so many different directions, but they went with the reality show glam rock star wannabee. Such a shame.
J.D. Fortune's replacement was a joke and a slap in the face for fans. You're not gonna get better than Fortune's performance here, especially considering he had no shared history with the band and therefore no peer support. I'm sorry about his drug-taking, but Michael took them too! How do we know he wasn't off his face when he had the argument with that cab driver? Don't forget also that Michael in 1996 was a father too and the writing was on the wall for the band as he wanted to spend more time with his new daughter. Like Jim Morrison and The Doors (and what should have happened with AC/DC - but didn't - creating a band that was nothing like the original), the Farriss Brothers, Pengilly and Beers should have left INXS in the ground with Michael, and been happy for the success they had - that 99.9% of pub bands dream of but never achieve.

I think JD Fortune was a great choice for a replacement singer. He does sound similar to Michael & definitely has the talent & energy needed. He doesn’t belt out the songs like MH, did… but he is talented and has a great voice!

When you have a singer as great as Michael Hutchence, a band should not replace him and die along with him. They can start a different band with new music.
This new singer (JD Fortune?) is not Michael....but people, Michael is dead. I miss him as much as most of you, but the remaining members of INXS are far too talented to just shrivel up and go away. No one will be able to really fill Michael's shoes, but I'm glad the others are carrying on. We shouldn't compare this version of INXS to the old version, but appreciate it for what it is.....a kick-a$$ rock'n roll band. I wish them all the best!!!!

just watched the 1999 inxs with Terence Trent Darby, that was awesome, TTD would have been a great replacement for Michael.

J.D. Fortune's replacement was a joke and a slap in the face for fans. You're not gonna get better than Fortune's performance here, especially considering he had no shared history with the band and therefore no peer support. I'm sorry about his drug-taking, but Michael took them too! How do we know he wasn't off his face when he had the argument with that cab driver?
Don't forget also that Michael in 1996 was a father too and the writing was on the wall for the band as he wanted to spend more time with his new daughter.
Like Jim Morrison and The Doors (and what should have happened with AC/DC - but didn't - creating a band that was nothing like the original), the Farriss Brothers, Pengilly and Beers should have left INXS in the ground with Michael, and been happy for the success they had - that 99.9% of pub bands dream of but never achieve.

I think JD Fortune was a great choice for a replacement singer. He does sound similar to Michael & definitely has the talent & energy needed. He doesn’t belt out the songs like MH, did… but he is talented and has a great voice!

The gases that make farts smell bad contain ammonia and hydrogen sulfide which are made in the intestine.

When you have a singer as great as Michael Hutchence, a band should not replace him and die along with him. They can start a different band with new music.
This new singer (JD Fortune?) is not Michael....but people, Michael is dead. I miss him as much as most of you, but the remaining members of INXS are far too talented to just shrivel up and go away. No one will be able to really fill Michael's shoes, but I'm glad the others are carrying on. We shouldn't compare this version of INXS to the old version, but appreciate it for what it is.....a kick-a$$ rock'n roll band. I wish them all the best!!!!
